If you haven’t read any of the books about the Hawke family you should. Not only are they steamy but they are also well written. Of course this book can be read as a stand alone since it’s a prequel to the next generation of Hawke’s. Isaac meets Jack in a bar while he is spending his last days in Chicago. He’s just finished law school and is about to enter into the family business. They don’t exchange names and there are no expectations for it to go further than a roll in the hay since it’s only for one night. But one night turns into two and then they want more. I’m looking forward to the full length novel as this has built up anticipation to find out more about Isaac and Jack.

This prequel was just what I needed. It had spice, mystery, and banter. The author gives us just enough information on the characters to keep you interested. The story was written very well and kept my attention. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the story and seeing what happens. I definitely have so many questions I look forward to getting the answers to.

The Hawke family sure has their drama. This collection follows the lives of the Hawke siblings and their friends. This family regardless of their circumstances comes together in life, love, and friendship. They are guided by the eldest, Savage Hawke who runs dance clubs.
Throughout the series of six novels, we learn about each of the characters, their flaws and their strengths. This collection is full of suspense and steamy romance.
While I enjoyed the entire collection, Storm’s story, Building Storm was my favorite. For me, this story had the strongest plot and characters. I would recommend this book.

Night Hawke (The Hawke Family Second Generation #0.5)Night Hawke by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a short and steamy read, which is a prequel to a new series featuring the Hawke family. Billionaire heir attorney, Isaac Hawke has a two-night stand with a mystery redhead, the rules, “Two nights. No names. No expectations”. Having graduated law school, Isaac is now ready to join his family’s multi-billion-dollar business, but before he joins the Hawke empire he goes out to have one night to celebrate. Having met a beautiful woman at the bar, he takes ‘Jack’ back to his hotel room for the night, however, this turns into a weekend in bed with her. Having realised that a weekend is not enough with ‘Jack’, he says they should exchange real names in the morning, but when he wakes up ‘Jack’ is gone, and with no real name Isaac has no way of finding her.
Meanwhile, the women turns out to be running away from her parents and her life, she just needed one night of freedom but knew it was too dangerous to stay. The chemistry between Isaac and ‘Jack’ literally sizzles off the page and leads to some extremely steamy scenes. This was an enjoyable and engaging read, which had me hooked. As a prequel the story sets up the new series really well, as it left me definitely wanting more, and left so many questions unanswered, especially the identity of ‘Jack’.

This is officially my first 5 star book of the year and the moment I saw this authors name I was in no doubt that it was going be! As usually the author has completely nailed it when it comes to incredible writing, amazing characters and a simply unputdownable book. I was hooked from the moment I started reading, just captivated by the story. I was right to leave myself enough time to finish the book in one sitting because I could not tear myself away from what was happening.
If you haven’t yet discovered the author or this series then I would urge you to change that today. It is absolutely fantastic and this author is easily one of my favourites.

Night Hawke: (A Second Generation Hawke Family Prequel) (The Hawke Family Second Generation)

I know this was meant as a treat to those of us who are familiar with the Hawke family, but to me it was a giant tease but in the most pleasurable way.

I have loved this family since the first book with the first generation, and I have a feeling my love for them is only going to grow.

I don’t want to discuss specifics to avoid giving anything away but oh my do I want to talk about them. The pool game is definitely something that stood out.

I cannot wait until February for the series to officially kick off. If you are familiar with this series then definitely add this book to your TBR, if not please don’t waste anymore time and get started at the beginning so you’re ready for this Generation.

This is the start of the series about the second generation of the Hawke Family and I am so excited because it seems like its going to be just as amazing as the first series.
This book is like a teasing glimpse into the story of Issac and Jack’s story and while it is full of hot steamy action and attraction there are definately secrets which need to be uncovered.
I don’t want to give too much away but its a great read. When 2 people set out for an easy one night stand to forget real life and all the impending stress, neither of them were expecting anything more. With fake names all they have is this time together. But what happens if one of them wants more? And what will the outcome be when the secrets are revealed

Night Hawke is the prequel and the start to The Hawke Family Second Generation Series. I was so excited to see where Gwyn had taken us. It isn’t necessary to read the first generation The Hawke Family Series. It is one of my favourite series and let me tell you that you should start at the beginning. You will definitely not be disappointed even though it is a very, very short read. Just a teasing taste of what’s to come.
Gwyn has never let me down and always produces page turners and Night Hawke is just as amazing as the others. It is intricately woven and are very well plotted out. The characters are well developed and hard not to fall in love with. The story is told in different POV’s letting you have more of an insight into these complex people.
This Mafia romance tale has plenty to offer any reader, with suspense and tension, oozing chemistry and passion, action, adventure and much, much more.
He’s a billionaire heir attorney and she is running from her life. Just one sexy and passion filled night. Or is it?
No spoilers here you need to grab a copy and find out what happens for yourself because it is that good.
Now I just have to wait anxiously for the next instalment.

This is an amazing prequel. It was spicy right from the start of the book. This is such a quick read but it does not disappoint in any way. It gives you a little taste of what is to come in this new series but it definitely leaves you thirsty for more. This book will have you blushing and squirming in your seat. I couldn’t sit down through the whole book because I was so caught up in what was happening with the characters. This book is so well written that you feel like you are part of this whole group and what is happening in the book feels like it happening right in front of you. It is an amazing escape for a few hours (I’m a quick reader) and it will leave you wanting more. You do not have to read the first generations series in order to understand what is going to happen in this series. Sometimes I feel like authors say that but then you find yourself lost in the story line because you just don’t fully understand what is happening. That isn’t the case here. You truly don’t have to read the first generation. However, I have a feeling once you finish this book you will want to because it is that good. It will also help fill the time till the next book arrives.

I loved reading this steamy romance story. This is an author that I have loved reading from the first book I picked up. One of the things I enjoy most about this author is her writing style that makes her stories fast paced and entertaining. Her attention to details make her stories pop and hard to put down. This book is no different. This is a well written story that is a prequel to A Second Generation Hawke Family series. The characters pull you in from the start. They have great chemistry and growth throughout. They will show you what happens when the unexpected happens and a two night stand is not enough, you need more. This is a story that I found hard to put down, it is that engaging and entertaining. A story that is easy to fall for the characters which make the story easy to read and come back for more. You don’t want to miss this one for sure. I highly recommend this must read story and this great author.

The Hawke Family Complete CollectionThe Hawke Family Complete Collection by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Are you kidding me?!? This is so good! I loved each couple in this set of 6 stories! Savage and Danika are up first and are hilarious and steamy! In addition to the dangers a mutual enemy brings this story is a page turner! Coming in second we meet Skye and are reintroduced to Gabe, a DAWG in true form! Of course these two have the issue of being the little sister and best friend of the over protective Savage but that just makes their attraction even more fun!! Third up is Stone (the baby Hawke of the family) and Nora (Danika’s little sister). Stone comes back into town with a handful of vices that hide a secret he’s trying to escape, Nora quit college and found freedom stripping in her BIL Savage’s club. These two meet and help one another find themselves once again. Storm and Landon are our 4th couple and this is more getcha in your feels and less drama than the others. Still phenomenal and speaks to the writer letting the character’s allowing the story to go where it’s supposed to not where the readers expect. In the fifth story we get Caroline (a Hawke family friend) and Saint (Savage’s bouncer for his club). Add in the witty word play that I’ve come to associate with this author and a little bit of intrigue and drama and this story will keep the pages turning! Last up in this family legacy is the story between Byron and Luca. Being a mob boss is hard enough, add in being gay and you have a very tough choice ahead of you. What will the choice be? Tell his family and risk his position or stay in the shadows and loose something beautiful and once in a lifetime.

This is hands down one of the best collections I have read in a while. I haven’t read anything from this author before, so this way a great way to immerse myself in the books. If y’all are like me you like reading one book after the other in a series. This is amazing cause you can just keep reading and go form book to book without having to search for the next book or wait for the next release. This series takes you on twists and turn that will have you sitting up in your seat a little straighter or even getting angry at the way things are going just to be replaced by complete happiness when things go the way you had wanted them to go. This complete series will have you quickly turning the pages to see what happens and you won’t even really realize that you switched to the next book because the writing is that spot on. It flows so seamlessly from bool to book. I was able to read this whole collection in about 3 days. Granted I didn’t do much of anything else because this story just consumed me to where I would get upset if I had to do anything else but read. These characters are written with so much description that you honestly feel as if they are just your friends but you are watching everything unfold in front of you. There is growth between the charters with not only their emotions but also in the way they view themselves. It is a read that you won’t be able to put down. That said, grab your drinks, snacks, and a great comfy blanket; sink down into your couch and get ready to be transplanted into the whole story of the Hawke Family. It will be worth your while.

What a good dark, mysterious, crime and passion filled story!

Adrianna had come to work for the Larussio family under seemingly false pretenses. Keeping secrets of her own until a horrific incident occurred that required her to be closer than ever to the family.

Mafia secrets come out and the path of Salvatore changed the minute he met Adrianna. When her own secrets come out he is faced with choices, on top of the decisions he’s making for the family already.

This book did not disappoint in the anticipation of what was going to happen next. A few twists and that was just what was needed to keep you guessing! I’ve read a few other books by this author and yet again not a disappointment in this story.

This is a great series to add to any collection. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep you on your toes in the first book, Savage Collision. If you like hot headed, intelligent and feisty leading ladies then you will love Danika Eriksson. She stormed into Savage’s office to hopefully save her sister from working in his club. What she wasn’t expecting was to be attacted to the man. In return Savage Hawke wasn’t expecting that being told off by an attractive woman would be so enticing. With their attraction to one another being off the charts will they be able to tame the fire or get burned?

In the second book, Tortured Skye, we get the story of Savage’s sister and his best friend. They have been dancing around each other for years and one kiss shared between then has the potential to ruin everything. Do they risk it all to be happy?

Stone Sober is Stone Hawke and Nora Erikssons story. They are opposites in every way, but their building attraction cannot be ignored. Stone dabbles in things that he doesn’t want Nora exposed to because of the danger. However he cannot seem to keep himself away from her. Nora was on her way to getting a degree in the medical field before she dropped out of school and became a stripper at The Hawkeye Club. She knows what kind of man Stone is, or is perceived to be from others, but she can’t help the pull he has on her. Will they have to keep their love affair a secret?

Building Storm follows Storm Hawke and Landon McCabe. Storm is trying to piece her life back together after seemingly losing it all. She has her daughter to look after so she soldiers on through her pain. She isn’t looking for love but love has found her even if she hasn’t realized it. Landon McCabe is running from his problems in Chicago. He figures he can get a fresh new start in New Orleans and not get attached. They are both broken in different ways but they help to heal each other in this story. Will they get a happily ever after or are they too broken to be fixed?

The final books in the series Tainted Saint and Steele Resolve tie up this series beautifully.

Tainted Saint follows Caroline Brooks and Solomon “Saint” Clarke. Caroline is a good friend to the Hawke sisters and Saint is a bouncer at The Hawkeye Club. They have been eyeing each other for a while but have never acted on their feelings until the night of a masquerade party. Both parties used the anonymity to get what they want but it may come at a price.

Steele Resolve follows Byron Harris and Luca “Steele” Abello. Byron knows that he has to come clean to the Hawke’s at some point, but how? He knew he should have ended what he had going with Luca the moment he found out his identity but the attraction was too strong. There is no question that his loyalty is to the Hawke’s as they are the only family he has, blood or not. Will the Hawke’s turn their back on him? Luca Abello is a Mob boss who is trouble. Just like Byron he knew things should have ended after their first night together. He knowingly risks their lives every time he sees Byron but it’s a risk worth taking. Is bad blood between the Hawke’s and Luca too much for their relationship to withstand or will everyone get their happily ever after?

The Hawke Family Complete Collection

This series is absolutely addicting. Savage Collision was my introduction to the author and I was hooked almost from the beginning, the fact it takes place in New Orleans made me live it a bit more.

Savage Collision – Danika Eriksson is a reporter for the Times and she barges into Savage Hawke’s office to confront him for “forcing” her sister to work at his club and drop out of school at Tulane.

Tortured Skye – Skye Hawke is Savage’s younger sister who has been emotionally withdrawn from her family and everyone after her twin sister Star was killed in an accident. Gabe Anderson is Savage’s childhood best friend and has watched Skye grow from a kid into the beautiful woman.

Stone Sober – Stone has an ego the size of Texas and doesn’t do anything to hide it but he seriously meets the one person to stand up to him and bring him to his knees all at once. Stone’s successful, financially stable and a total Alpha which adds to the hotness level. There were twists I didn’t see coming. I believe my jaw hit the ground during on particular scene

Building Storm – Storm reminded me of a phoenix rising from the ashes from the moment I started reading this book. Storm is having to learn how to live a new normal but thankfully she’s not alone. Her family is amazing through it all. I think I was crying or fighting tears through most of this book, made me think if a friend who is two months into this exact same journey.

There are so many raw emotional moments from the beginning to the end. I have loved this series from word one but there was something about this book that grabbed me.

Tainted Saint – Saint captured my heart in this story for a few reasons. He is strong, protective and has a heart a gold. Also the fact he represented the Who Dat Nation didn’t hurt. 😁

Caroline is similar to Dani in personality which is helpful since they’re best friends. She gets a “brilliant” idea which could end up costing her and others everything though her heart was in the right place.

Steele Resolve – Bryon and Steele are a couple I want to hang out, actually I would love to hang out with the entire Hawke Family. They just seem like a group that knows how to have a lot of fun and each one of them love their partner and family like there is no one else.

Audri and Remington know each other as friends, but when he appears in her work environment as well, she has no idea what to do and neither does he, but his magnetism attracts Audri no matter how had she tries to deny it, but has no idea if he feels the same way. Remington has always had a spark of attraction to Audri, but felt she was off limits being his best friends sister, but the more he gets to know her, the more he feels the attraction is right.

This is a romantic suspense with twists and turns as secrets and truths are revealed and the past becomes entangled with the present, but will the future be full of darkness or light? The only way to find out is to read the first instalment in this series and immerse yourself into the fire within.

This is the complete collection of The Hawke Family and oh my god this is brilliant, to be able to have the whole series in one book is heaven.

With all six stories, Savage Collison, Tortured Sky, Stone Sober Building Storm, Tainted Saint and Steele Resolve in one book was great as you can read one after the other and be absorb within the words. Each book offers an insight into the family by following one of the family members with intrigue and twists and turners.

My favourite book out of all of them was Steele Resolve, a tale of forbidden love and unresolved issues within the family. Luca has come back after being away for a while but when he walks into a family meeting and sees the man, he has always loved can he reveal his secret and live a happy life. As the story unfolds you get to see the insight into both worlds these men revolve around.

I loved this series and enjoyed all the stories, with each character jumping out at you and the wonderful stories which involved you within the world of The Hawke family was brilliantly. So sad that it had to come to an end. Can’t wait to read more stories by this wonderful author soon.

Stone Sober (Book 3) by Gwyn McNamee – Review by Kayla Octaviano

Stone Sober (Hawke Family #3)Stone Sober by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Stone is one of the younger family members in the Hawke family, but he is definitely the most rebellious. He has his own mind, and in this book, it helps us understand how far he is willing to go to be different from everybody else, and to satisfy his own wants and needs. Read this book if you like to be on the edge of your seat, like steamy scenes, and don’t mind holding your breath when things get dicey.

The Hawke Family Complete Collection holds the complete Hawke Family Series (Books 1 – 6) by Gwyn McNamee. Ms. McNamee is one of my all-time favourite authors, her books providing numerous hours of avid reading. I don’t even have to read the blurb or know anything about her book/s, as they are on my automatic one-click, no questions asked list because I know I won’t ever be disappointed. This series is where my stalking, ummmm, I mean my appreciation of Ms. McNamee’s work began. Savage Collision completely blew me away and started my addiction.
The Series contains:
-Savage Collision (Book #1)
-Tortured Skye (Book #2)
-Stone Sober (Book #3)
-Building Storm (Book #4)
-Tainted Saint (Book #5)
-Steele Resolve (Book #6)

I have included my reviews to the first three books to give you a small taste of what you can expect…

Savage Collision (Book #1)
5 Stars
Savage Collision is the first book in the Hawke Family Novels and an exceptional debut novel by Gwyn McNamee. This is an intoxicatingly steamy romance, with a good dose of suspense, mystery, danger and intrigue. This book has so much going on with-in it, I am finding it almost impossible to do the book justice, without giving away any spoilers. But here goes…..
Danika Eriksson (Dani) is an Investigative Reporter who is extremely passionate and driven- and nothing gets in the way of a good story, her career is her life. Discovering her younger sister is stripping in a Club, Dani is so incensed that she goes to the club to confront the sleazebag owner.
Savage Hawke owns several restaurants and the Hawkeye Club, an upscale and classy Gentleman’s Club prides himself on his strong work ethic, impeccable reputation and professionalism. So, when this captivating beauty storms through his door with her ‘take-no-prisoners’ attitude, he entirely intrigued. His body responds to her in such a powerful way, he’s never experienced before, ever! Savage has huge secrets and some major unresolved issues from his traumatic past that impact on his ability to commit to anyone. Dani has her own secrets that threaten to destroy everything she has worked so hard to create.
This book is amazing, with the plot twisting and turning so effectively, I was firmly held in the story’s grip- completely hooked from the very first page. I couldn’t put it down, totally immersed in the story, page-after-page. This book is an experience of sensory overload- it had me yelling at my kindle; things like “No!” “No-way!” and “O.M.G!”, repeatedly… Then there were points where I caught myself reading with a big goofy grin on my face. On other occasions my tears were streaming so fast, I couldn’t see. Then there was the electrifyingly HOT bedroom (office, Lounge, car…) action that set my Kindle (and Panties) on fire and had me chewing my lip. Phew!!!!
Gwyn McNamee has found her place firmly on my favourite author list, with this outstanding and truly enjoyable novel. I will be waiting expectantly for her next offering!!!

Tortured Skye (Book #2)
5 Stars
Tortured Skye is the second book in the Hawke Family Novels Series by the supremely talented Gwyn McNamee. It is a very spicy and erotic contemporary romance that will tantalize you from the very first page and hold you enthralled right till the end.
Skye Hawke comes across as snarky, sassy, hot-headed, independent and a little on the stubborn side- but most of that is a façade she puts up to hide her pain and vulnerability. You see, Skye has endured a heartache that most people could never fathom and more often than not it takes all her energy to just get through each day. She harbours a lot of guilt for what transpired and living with this regret is slowly devouring her soul, piece by piece.
She was attending a special family function where everyone was so joyous in their celebration- which only serves to remind Skye of everything she had lost, and completely adrift in her personal sea of pain, desperate to tether herself before she is completely swept away. Then in walks the man she’s felt a powerful connection to for so long now. The man she has had a crush on since she was a teenager. She clings to him, and they share a passionate kiss…..but then he just walks away, leaving her suffering the sting of rejection. She has avoided him ever since, but how long can that last. After all he is her brother’s best friend and an honorary member of their family.
Gabe Anderson has his own demons that haunt his days and torture his nights. This has led him to ‘self-medicate’ on a prescription of alcohol and sex. He doesn’t do commitment, just a lot of hooking-up. He has always been closer to the Hawke’s, than his own family and values his friendship with Savage. Gabe has always felt a strong bond between himself and Skye- and appreciated that she had grown into a beautiful woman but had never really thought about it- until that kiss. Now he can’t get her out of his mind and the memory of it is consuming him.
He feels that he would be risking everything- completely jeopardizing his relationship with Savage, as well as his job and his heart – if he were to get involved with Skye. He also feels that because of his demons, he isn’t worthy of her. But now that he’s had a taste, he doesn’t know if he’ll be able to resist her.
With other factors at play in this story, as well- Ms. McNamee masterfully wove a story that absorbed me to a point where reality ceased to exist. I would love to tell you more, but I wouldn’t want to spoil it for you- so please do yourself a favour and discover the wonderful world of the Hawkes for yourself- you really won’t be disappointed.
Even though we met Skye in the first book, we didn’t really get to know her very well. I had decided that I didn’t really like her very much- but since getting to understand her more from this story, I really have come to appreciate her and think that she and Gabe really are a perfect match. I loved Gabe from the moment he is introduced in the first book, he intrigued me, and I wanted to know more about him. This book gave me all the answers I was looking for, plus some.
Ms. McNamee has a real talent for writing with emotion and the ability to connect her readers to the story and characters. I felt for Skye and Gabe and everything they’d been through- and I was with them every step of the way as this story transpires….. There’s so much emotion that at times Ms. McNamee had me free-falling through the spectrum of feelings, like a base jumper chasing an adrenalin high. Wow, what a ride!
One thing Ms. McNamee seems to be able to do better than most, is a raunchy, spine tingling, knee tremblingly HOT sex scene- and this story sure doesn’t disappoint. You have been warned, spare panties will be required!

Stone Sober (Book #3)

5 Stars
Stone Sober is the highly anticipated third book in the Hawke Family series by author extraordinaire, Gwyn McNamee. I really am at a loss for words to do this story the justice it deserves and relay just how fantastic this story is. I almost inhaled this book; I was so engrossed in the story. I laughed, I cried, and I cursed Ms. McNamee (sorry, but I was in a heightened state of anxiety from what I was reading)- I swear my heart stopped on several occasions and I spent a good portion of the time picking my jaw up off the ground- I was trying to anticipate what was going to happen, but Ms. McNamee deftly maneuvered the plot in such a way as to make the story quite unpredictable. I am not going to rehash the plot to you, Ms. McNamee does a far better job of that in the blurb- but I will tell you how her story made me feel and how much I love it, and the whole series so far.
I don’t know how she does it, but each new book slightly eclipses the last- every story is a credit to her and the series as a whole. There are very few series that I have read and can honestly say that EVERY single instalment deserves more than the maximum five stars I am allowed to allocate them. If I could award more stars, I would- that’s how much I love this book/series!
I fell in love with Savage in book one, then had my heart stolen by Gabe in book two- then this book comes along, and Stone branded himself so deeply into my heart- so I can’t/won’t choose between them all- at this point I am more than happy to be labelled a Hawke Family groupie. Dani, Skye and now Nora, are such worthy leading ladies- well matched to their men, and impressive in their own right.
I loved Stone’s bad boy, dirty talking, and dark(ish) sexual tastes- it certainly made for some volcanically HOT reading- I recommend placing several pairs of panties in the freezer before reading this book, because you will definitely need to cool down(under) while reading this.
As this book is part of a series, I suggest reading all the books in the correct order, because there is background information/backstories found in the other books that come to a head in this story- so having all that information will add to your reading pleasure.

I highly recommend this series- but be warned, it is entirely addictive, so find a comfy spot, and settle in, because you won’t want to put it down for even a second. And luckily, Ms. McNamee has plenty of other enticing books available to feed your new obsession/addiction.
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Gwyn McNamee!

Tortured Skye by Gwyn McNamee – Review by Kayla Octaviano

Tortured Skye (Hawke Family #2)Tortured Skye by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Skye has had a hard life, many twists and turns that have led her to be a grumpy woman who lashes out at her loved ones. Gabe is the same emotional state as Skye, but has many other reasons to be in that position. They come to realize they understand each other on a level nobody else does. They have to decide if what they think they have is worth upsetting their family, and fighting the odds against everything they come up against together. Read this book, it has psychiatrists, dead family members, and betrayal and love at its finest.

Savage Collision (Book 1) by Gwyn McNamee – Review by Kayla Octaviano

Savage Collision (Hawke Family, #1)Savage Collision by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow. Very unique, very enticing. Savage has his own secret that he doesn’t tell Danika until she is rather invested in their connection. Danika ends up having her own problems come full circle, and get her into a lot of trouble. Even though they meet under upsetting circumstances, they have a connection neither one could deny, no matter how hard either one of them try. Read this book. It is full of friendship, love, attraction, and amazingly descriptive hot scenes.

Such a great series! The Hawke family has all kinds of issues that will draw you in and keep you hooked! The Hawke’s value family more than anything in the world. They would do anything for each other, and that is usually what gets them into trouble. On top of the fact that they all draw danger like there’s no tomorrow. Read this series! It is fun, exciting, crazy, and a blast to follow. You won’t want to put them down.
