New Jerk in Town: An Enemies-to-Lovers Romantic Comedy (Carolina Kisses Book 2) by Sylvie Stewart – Review by Rosanna Ingram

New Jerk in Town: An Enemies-to-Lovers Romantic Comedy (Carolina Kisses Book 2)New Jerk in Town: An Enemies-to-Lovers Romantic Comedy by Sylvie Stewart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sylvie Stewart is quickly becoming one of my automatic one-click authors! She has a way of telling a story that pulls you into the world of the characters and holds you hostage until the end (in a good way…I promise).

This book follows the story of Milo and Jill. As teenagers, Milo and Jill became friends and were on the cusp of possibly more when they are torn apart. Twelve years later, back in the same town, they reunite and it is fireworks from the start. There is resentment but the foundation of their budding relationship in the past is still standing and opens the door for their to be more. Each has grown up (and probably have more growing up to do)…but can they make a relationship work after all that time?!? Read and find out.

I am sucker for a friends-to-lovers story…but this goes a step farther by being a friends-to-enemies-to-lovers romance. There is the southern charm that I have come to expect in the Carolina Kisses series…a slow burn romance…and characters with depth. Another great story by an amazing author…can’t wait to see what’s next!

Curse of Seduction (Dark Princes of Purgatory Book 1) by CR Robertson – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Curse of SeductionCurse of Seduction by C.R. Robertson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a book that sucked me into its world and did not let me go until the end. The world created was so vivid that I could see it in my mind and the characters were all great and I felt like I was a part of their world.

200 years ago, Ophelia bound herself to the four princes of Purgatory as a way to make herself more powerful. One of those princes was Ezekiel who is an incubus. For 200 years he has had his power stolen by Ophelia while she rages a war on all the realms of Purgatory. Enter Ilana…a half-vampire half-human warrior fighting to bring an end to Ophelia’s terror reign. However, one look between Ilana and Ezekiel sets into motion a series of events that were fated hundreds of years ago. Can Ophelia save Ezekiel from the curse without sacrificing herself? Why have those close to her been lying to her for years? You’ll have to read to find out the answers.

This is book covers one of the princes…so I am assuming future books will focus on the other princes. I found it hard to put the book down because I wanted to know what was going to happen. I will be looking forward to reading about the other princes in the future.

Girl Trap (A Madeline Dawkins Mystery Book 3) by Cynthia Hamilton – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Girl Trap (The Madeline Dawkins Series Book 3)Girl Trap by Cynthia Hamilton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Madeline is back again in this third installment in the series. This book is interesting as it has two plot lines happening…and I found myself intrigued to find out what would happen with both of them. Mike and Madeline are still running their party planning business and their PI firm. Mike, the crazy ex, makes himself known again in this story. However, this time we are left with an unknown conclusion to the story…so I am thinking there is going to (hopefully) be another book that will let us know what happened!

I enjoyed this book. It was fun to read and kept me guessing what was going to happen next. You don’t necessarily have to have already read the other stories in the series to understand what is happening (but it adds to their back story). Another good book in this series!

Forgotten Chance: Book Three (The Forgotten Trilogy) by Virginia Wine – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Forgotten Chance: Book Three (Forgotten Trilogy)Forgotten Chance: Book Three by Virginia Wine
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Forgotten Chance is the third, and final, book in the Forgotten Trilogy…and probably my favorite! (Note: If you have not read books 1 and 2….you must do that first) Bryer and Nathan are getting married…and there is so much going on. Bryer is planning out her perfect day to the man she loves…but someone is plotting against her. Cash returns and is determined to ruin Bryer’s special day. Can Nathan and Bryer’s love overcome the obstacles that Cash is putting in their way…or will Cash finally destroy Bryer’s happiness?

This book is full of what I have come to expect from the series…love, humor, drama, and suspense. This book is the culmination of all the events that have happened since the first book. I really enjoyed reading this series!

Bottomed Out (Moto X Series Book 4) by Brooke May – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Bottomed OutBottomed Out by Brooke May
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jax suffered a career-ending injury when he was involved in a motocross crash during a race. Now confined to a wheelchair, Jax works for one of his old sponsors and has found a different way to be involved in a world that he loves. His boss wants him to get some up and coming racers, Parker and Paige, to take part in an upcoming event. To get to the twins, he has to get through Paige’s right-hand woman, Lennox. Len is a mechanic for Paige and is sent over to Jax’s office to see what kind of offer Jax’s company puts on the table. Their is an immediate attraction between the two. However, Len doesn’t date due to her overprotective brother. Jax and Len go on secret dates but, when their secret is discovered, a series of events tests the strength of their budding relationship. Will they stay together and make it work, or is their baggage too much to handle?

I found this book to be full of emotions. Jax is a strong character that has not let the events of the past complete sour his view of the future. I felt for his best friend, and roommate, Axle. There are previous books in this series that I have not read, but I think I am going to check them out to get caught up on his story. All the characters were interesting and it will be interesting to see any future books that they are in!

Winter’s Wolf (The Cursed Series Book 1) by Lou Grimes – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Winter's Wolf (The Cursed, #1)Winter’s Wolf by Lou Grimes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Louvette has been kicked out of many schools for fighting. She doesn’t start the fights, but she isn’t going to be anyone’s punching bag. After getting kicked out of the most recent school, an attorney arrives saying that she is the beneficiary of her grandfather’s estate since her father is presumed dead. Louvette has never met or even known the name of her father or grandfather, as her mother does not talk about them at all. Once they move into the Blackwood mansion (which is now her new last name thanks to stipulations of the will), Louvette’s life changes in ways she never thought of. She has vivid dreams that she can’t seem to shake. She caught the attention of Arsen on her first day in town, and he is determined to guide her through all these changes. As she learns more about her past, Louvette must decide who she can trust and who she can’t. The story ends on a bit of a cliffhanger…as there are many questions that have no answers yet.

I found myself drawn into the story and want to read the next book when it comes out to get more of the story. I enjoyed watching Louvette learn about her past and who she really is. Her friendship with Cara is great to read and her relationship with Arsen is full of potential. Like I said, I enjoyed the story and am looking forward to the next book.

Boundaries (Scope of Practice Book 1) by Jessica Aiken-Hall – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Boundaries (Scope of Practice, #1)Boundaries by Jessica Aiken-Hall
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This a fast-paced story that I devoured in one sitting. Valerie is a social worker that has past dram in her life that has prevented her from opening up to those around her. However, when she is asked to start a trauma support group, she finds the stories of those around her inspiring and have her wanting to delve into her own past. As she is also working on a murder case, she finds herself opening up to a detective that she has pushed away previously. The boundaries that she has set for herself are becoming blurred and you will have to read the story to see how it all works out.

I enjoyed this book and read it all the way through. There were a lot of ups and downs, emotionally, and there are definitely some triggers that could affect some readers. I found myself okay with them and able to read through the story. This isn’t a genre I usually gravitate to…but this story kept my interest and I may check out other books from this author.

Designing Love (The Calderone Family Romance Series Book 3) by Victoria Grant – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Designing Love (The Calderone Family Romance Book 3)Designing Love by Victoria Grant
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Caroline is a career-driven designer with a no dating rule. She wants to focus on being the best at what she does and romance does not have a place in her world. When she is the maid of honor at her best friend’s wedding, she is paired up with the groom’s brother. Charles has put himself in a dating time-out since his last relationship ended quite badly. However, ever since his brother’s wedding he has had a hard time getting the maid of honor out of his thoughts. While sparks fly between the two, they are both hesitant to start anything when they both are trying to steer clear of relationships. When Caroline is chosen as the lead designer on the new building Charles’ company is building, will they be able to avoid the chemistry between them? Will they take a chance on each other or will they push each other away? You will have to read to find out!

While this is the 3rd book in the series, this book can be read as a standalone. Characters from previous books are a part of this book and I found myself wanting to go and read those books so I could find out their backstory. While Caroline is a strong and career-driven woman, she frustrated me at times with her constant need to argue over everything and get mad at the smallest situations. I recognize, however, that people are like that and tried not to let it irk me too much. I enjoyed Charles as he was searching for the balance between work, family, and love. He is a romantic at heart and I found myself rooting for him throughout the book. This is a nice romantic story that is also quite funny at times.

Stepbrother (Step Dilemma Series Book 1) by Stacy McWilliams – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Stepbrother: Step Dilemma Series Book 1Stepbrother: Step Dilemma Series Book 1 by Stacy McWilliams
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bailey and Cooper’s story is full of so much drama and emotion that I wanted to smack them, hug them, heal them, and root for them…all at the same time. This book is full of triggers of emotional and physical abuse. So if that is something that bothers you, I would advise against reading this book. However, if you can endure reading it….this story is worth it!

This book is told from Bailey’s POV and it pulled me in from the first page. A shy girl who just wants to make it through high school is suddenly thrust into a new world when her mom suddenly ups and moves their lives. Bailey’s strained relationship with her mother becomes even more difficult when she is forced to live with her stepbrothers who are doing what they can to make her leave. Cooper is the biggest bully of them all…yet Bailey can’t stop her attraction to him.

This book is told over a time period of years, with the relationship between Baily and Cooper being at the center of it. Their love-hate relationship is an emotional rollercoaster that goes on for years. The book is left unresolved…and I will definitely be checking out the next book when it is released because I need to know what happens. This is the first book that I have read from this author…but it won’t be the last.

Sunshine Kisses (A Kisses Novella) by Elaine Marie – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Sunshine KissesSunshine Kisses by Elaine Marie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is quite the emotional rollercoaster…and I think it’s because it is a real-life situation that some find themselves in.
Crystal’s best friend is getting married…and Crystal wants to have a fling while she is at the wedding. She recently got some bad news from her doctor and she is determined to life her life to the fullest for as long as she can. One of her best friends, Spencer, ends up being just the person to fill the position of boy toy. However, what happens when the truth about her health comes out? Can Spencer accept that? Can he accept the rules they have agreed on once they return to their everyday lives? You’re going to have to read to find out.
This was a quick and easy read. I found myself relating to the characters and immersing myself in their world for a bit. While it is full of feels, it is worth every one!

A High Price to Pay (The Madeline Dawkins Series Book 2) by Cynthia Hamilton – Review by Rosanna Ingram

A High Price to Pay (Madeline Dawkins, #2)A High Price to Pay by Cynthia Hamilton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story begins with Madeline and Mike going through with their PI firm plans. Since they are just starting out, Madeline is still working as an event coordinator. However, the current job she is working needs both of her jobs in order to be successful. She must not only pull off an amazing birthday party for the wife of an actor…she also needs to find some missing jewels and, eventually, solve a murder. And then an old enemy makes a return….but you have to read it to know how it all pans out!

I feel that Madeline is less whiny and afraid in this book compared to the previous one. It’s like she found her self-confidence and I love it. These books are out of my usual genre of reading…but I have found myself really enjoying this series. I am keeping Cynthia Hamilton on my list of author’s to look for when I am searching for new books.

Be Brave with Me (Finding Love in Green Springs Book 1) by CA Miconi – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Be Brave With Me (Finding Love In Green Springs Book 1)Be Brave With Me by J.B. Havens
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Meg and Drew’s story is one that I was emotionally invested in from the get go…and it was quite the ride. Meg has sold off everything she had and is running from the tragedies of her past. Drew is a former football star that has suffered his own tragedy. Finding her way to Green Springs, Meg and Drew cross paths and their relationship is explosive from the beginning. However, as they both try to deal with their own pain, they need to figure out if they can heal each other or if they are better off just continuing the way they have been.

This book is full of emotions. Each of their situations pulled at my heartstrings and made me invested in their story. I really enjoyed every word of this book. We are also introduced to secondary characters that, if I had to guess, will be the subject of future books in the series. I will definitely be checking them out because this little town has grown on me!

Forgotten Promise Book two: The Forgotten Trilogy by Virginia Wine – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Forgotten Promise (Forgotten #2)Forgotten Promise by Virginia Wine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Bryer and Nathan have been through a lot…and are finally at a place where their relationship is on solid ground. They are moving on from their pasts…until Bryer’s past starts contacting her. Nathan knows this is not a good sign and vows to protect Bryer at all costs. However, through the use of the manipulation that Cash is known for, he gets Bryer to come to him…willingly. What follows causes both Bryer and Nathan to question just how solid their relationship is and what the future holds for them. We are left with another cliffhanger…which makes me excited to read the next book.

I found myself, once again, intrigued by how the story will play out. The vulnerabilities and emotions displayed by both of the main characters can seem too much at times…but they are real. This is how real people feel in relationships. And the secondary characters, again, help push the story along while hinting at their own story that could be brewing. I will definitely be checking out the next book to see what happens next!

Humiliating Revenge: Contemporary Young Adult Romance by T. Christensen – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Humiliating RevengeHumiliating Revenge by T. Christensen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book that I have read from this author…but it won’t be the last. Talk about an emotional rollercoaster!

Calum and Olivia dated briefly back in high school, until Olivia dumped him in a public and humiliating way. Calum channeled his frustration and anger into training and now, years later, is an up-and-coming MMA fighter. Imagine his surprise when he goes out to celebrate his first professional win and the girl who was too good for him in high school is now the woman serving him his drinks. He decides that flaunting his success in her face and humiliating her, like she did to him, is going to be his revenge. However, there are feelings other than hate that they have and maybe things weren’t exactly as they seemed in their past.

This story has so many layers. I don’t want to give anything away because it was s shock to me and took me a minute to catch my breath when I understood what was happening. I found myself pulling for them each to come clean with each other…it was frustrating the way they would dance around what was really happening (but it made the book more dramatic…so I get why it was needed). I am glad the story took turns I didn’t see coming and ended much different than I was guessing. T. Christensen has a way with words that pulled me in and kept me engaged for the entire story… and I loved it!

And The River Runs Deep: The Cold Case Murder Mystery of Leah Marcus by A.J. Ullman – Review by Rosanna Ingram

And The River Runs Deep: The Cold Case Murder Mystery of Leah MarcusAnd The River Runs Deep: The Cold Case Murder Mystery of Leah Marcus by A.J. Ullman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story pulled me in from the beginning and didn’t let me go until the shocking ending. This is the story of a crime reporter that re-investigates the murder of Leah Marcus 10 years after it occurred. Her boyfriend has already been tried for the crime. However, the crime took place during the race riots of 2001, and the re-investigation uncovers times when classism, racism, and sexism may have swayed opinions of what really happened.

After getting used to the amount of backstory and facts laid out, I found myself intrigued by all the details and trying to figure out what actually happened. I do not want to give anything away. It is a really good read that is worth the time invested!

Hero High: Figure In The Flames by Mina Chara – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Figure in the Flames (Hero High, #1-3)Figure in the Flames by Mina Chara
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I found myself enjoying these books, even though it is a genre I don’t usually read. Friday is attending Hero High which simultaneously films a reality TV show. While her superpower isn’t one of the big flashy ones, she needs to find a way to make the producers (and audience) notice her and want her to be in a better grouping. While navigating the school aspect, she also has personal relationship drama with her best friend, new relationships to build with her mentor and other students, and a mysterious figure in the flames which keeps making appearances in her life.
This is definitely young adult…but it was a nice break from some of the other heavy stuff I read. I was pulled into the futuristic world and added drama of the reality tv show (like Big Brother). The series is not over…so I will be waiting to see what happens next.

SPOUSE TRAP: Madeline Dawkins Mysteries (The Madeline Dawkins Series Book 1) by Cynthia Hamilton – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Spouse Trap (Madeline Dawkins, #1)Spouse Trap by Cynthia Hamilton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Spouse Trap starts out with the main character, Madeline, waking up in a hotel room with no idea how she got there or what happened. She goes home only to be confronted by her husband claiming she cheated on him, he has evidence, and their marriage is over. Determined to prove her innocence, Madeline searches for clues as to what actually happened that night. As the pieces start coming together, a picture is painted that is full of treachery and deceit that rocks her to the core. As she continues to figure out the whole picture, she finds herself in situation where her sanity and life are in danger. Without giving anything away, you will find yourself at the edge of your seat wondering how she is going to get through it all.

This book hooked me from the beginning. I found myself rooting for Madeline and watching her evolve as the story goes on. Instead of lying down and taking what the world is throwing at her, she stands up and fights while finding out she is stronger than they thought she was. A great story that is thrilling and full of suspense. I enjoyed every second of it!

Bargaining (Hero High Book 3) by Mina Chara – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Bargaining (Hero High, #3)Bargaining by Mina Chara
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the third book in the Hero High series…and you should definitely read the first two prior to starting this one. This book is a continuation from the second book. Friday is trying to figure out who she is as a superhero…trying to be true to herself while making the producers happy. Her relationship with her best friend is struggling and she doesn’t know why everything around here seems so crazy.

This series is not one I would usually read, as it is not a genre I typically choose, but it has kept me entertained and wanting to find out what happens next. Like the other books, it is a fairly quick read that is full of action. It is worth picking up and reading…and I will definitely be interested in what Mina Chara comes up with next!

Turn up the Tempo (Lyrical Odyssey Rock Star Series Book 4) by Charli B Rose – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Turn up the Tempo (Lyrical Odyssey Rock Star series, #4)Turn up the Tempo by Charli B. Rose
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was intrigued by the synopsis of this story. Two people go into a one night stand with no intentions of anything beyond that night and are finding that agreement hard to abide by. However, the story that is laid out by Charli B Rose is amazing and kept me invested the entire time.

Brooks and Brittany have both decided that relationships aren’t their thing. When they hook up at a friend’s party, they don’t want it going past that night. Months later, when they are both part of a wedding party, they realize that the night they shared may have been more than just a hookup. However, lack of communication between the two (on top of trying to fight every urge within themselves to allow for something more) leads to a story that is filled with tears and laughter, hot sex and broken hearts, and growth and (gasp!) love. It’s a great story with so much going on that I don’t want to give anything away…so just read it!

Just a heads up…although this is the 4th book in the series, you do not have to have read the previous books to understand this story. While there are flashbacks to events that probably occurred in other books, it does not hinder the reader from moving through this story. That being said…I will be checking out the other books in the series because I want to know how they all to where they are now!

Forgotten Truth Trilogy: Book One (The Forgotten Trilogy 1) by Virginia Wine – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Forgotten Truth (Forgotten #1)Forgotten Truth by Virginia Wine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book that I have read by Virginia Wine, but it won’t be the last. First…I need to know what happens next. Also, the secondary characters in this book are good and deserve their own stories to be told. But, back to this book…

Bryer has been hurt in past relationships, with her last one leaving her not wanting to put herself out there. Nathan is the owner of the gym Bryer works out at. Nathan suffers from nightmares and has his own issues. However, they are attracted to each other. Once they go on their first date, we are pulled into a story that kept me turning the pages.

They are both dealing with pasts that they must come to terms with. Working together, they just might be able to do that. There is drama and suspense alongside a budding relationship that is growing and could be something amazing. Are they willing to be vulnerable in order to heal, or are they too stunted by their pasts to move forward?!? You will have to read it to find out!

Hawk’s Cry (Satan’s Devils MC Second Generation #2) by Manda Mellett – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Hawk's Cry (Satan's Devils MC Second Generation #2)Hawk’s Cry by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am obsessed with all of the Satan’s Devils books. Each time a new one comes out, I think it is the best one yet. This one, however, tore me to shreds and is probably one of the best books I have read this year. Hawk’s story deals with real issues that hit close to home. I felt for him and his wife throughout the entire book.

Hawk is struggling and doesn’t know what to do or who to even turn to for help. His pregnant wife is confused as to why the relationship with her husband is changing. Decisions are made that can change their lives forever. The other members of the MC make an appearance in this book when they come together to help their own.

I really don’t want to give too much away because these books should be experienced by the reader without anything spoiled. The scenarios in this book are real and will hit home for quite a few people. I felt so many emotions throughout the story…but, as always, the strength of family (whether by blood or chosen) plays an important role. Thank you Manda Mellett for another amazing story in this series!

All The Wrong Reasons (Serendipity Falls Novel Book 1) by Erin Bevan – Review by Rosanna Ingram

All The Wrong ReasonsAll The Wrong Reasons by Erin Bevan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Have you ever read a book that felt like you were reading something that would actually happen in real life?!? That’s what this story was. It’s not the overly romantic best friend romance one thinks of when they hear of this trope. Instead it was the story of Max and Alex, two friends, who go some real crappy situations that test their friendship and potential romance. There are lies, half-truths, meddling exes, and a second best friend that doesn’t know whether to hug Alex or smack her upside the head for some of the decisions she has made. This is a story of realness and a reminder that people make dumb decisions when they think they are doing what is best for others.

I found myself rooting for Alex and Max (while wanting to knock some sense into them). Their story was entertaining and filled with ups and downs. But at the end of it all, their relationship was build solidly on the friendship they have shared for many years. It’s a reminder that the best relationships are those rooted in friendship. I really enjoyed this story.

Forbidden Desires: Taken by her Son’s Best Friend (Confessions of a Trophy Wife Book 1) by L.M. Mountford – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Forbidden Desire (Confessions of a Trophy Wife, #1)Forbidden Desire by L.M. Mountford
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was a quick read filled with a lot of heat. Elizabeth’s son has just left for college and she finds that her life is not the way she saw it when she was at this age. Her husband travels for work and is having affairs. An unplanned trip to a friend’s house finds Elizabeth in a situation with one of her son’s friends that reminds her what it is like to be a wanted woman. She finds herself in quite the predicament…between being the dutiful trophy wife and feeling the passion of a lover makes her feel wanted and cherished.
This book took less than an hour to read, but I definitely had to fan myself off a few times. The scenes with Elizabeth and Hugh were H-O-T hot! I would have liked more of the story going forward…but that doesn’t mean I wasn’t happy with the story I got!

Holding Out for You by Anna Paige – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Holding Out for YouHolding Out for You by Anna Paige
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

There is something about a brother’s best-friend romance that I love to read…and this story was great one. Becker and Asher have been friends for years. They graduated, went off to college, and came back home to wait to see where they would go for work. Blair is Becker’s younger sister. As long as Becker and Asher have been friends, Blair and Asher have been the thorn in each other’s sides. Whether they are making fun of each other or picking on each other, they always seem to more enemies than friends. However, one night, everything in Blair’s life changes in an instant…including the way she sees her relationship with Asher.
As the story progresses, Asher and Blair must figure out what they mean to each and what that means for everyone around them. There are so many other relationships going on in this story that (I hope) will someday get a book of their own. This story is so real feeling. The things that Blair and the gang go through break them down while making them stronger. I found myself easily sucked into the story and didn’t come up for air until it was finished. Such a great story!

Read Between The Lines (Freshwater Book 1) by Belinda Williams – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Read Between The Lines (Freshwater, #1)Read Between The Lines by Belinda Williams
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Read Between the Lines is one of those books that will pull you in from the beginning and take you on a wonderful ride. Kat and Matt are amazing characters that I found myself falling in love with. They are both strong characters that are faced with real-life problems that must be addressed before they can become something more than friends. Also, the secondary characters in this book are awesome, too!
Kat is successful in the media world and Matt is building his own medical career. They are both ambitious in their public lives while battling secrets in their personal lives. However, when these secrets come to light, can they worth through them or is that the end of whatever they have been building? (You’re going to have to read it to find out!)
I really enjoyed the way this author dealt with real-life issues and in a way that didn’t make light of them nor pass over them as if they aren’t a big deal. These topics are relevant in today’s world and I really enjoyed the way they were handled. This is the first book that I have read by Belinda Williams, but I know it won’t be the last.

Anger (Hero High Book 2) by Mina Chara – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Anger (Hero High, #2)Anger by Mina Chara
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book follows right where Denial (book 1) leaves off. Friday is trying to figure out what is going on and who has her back (and who doesn’t). She is under constant scrutiny because people are watching her every move. She also knows some people are probably acting for the cameras and not being honest. She doesn’t know if anyone can be trusted!
I enjoyed this book. I am not much of a superhero story reader…but I have found myself pulled into both books in this series. I want to know what’s really going on as much as the main character does! There is a lot…but it isn’t overwhelming. I will continue to read the series to get my answers!

How Could I Forget (Plentiful in Love Book 1) by N.D. Jackson – Review by Rosanna Ingram

How Could I Forget (Plentiful in Love Book 1)How Could I Forget by N.D. Jackson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kayla and Danny share one night together at a frat party back in college the night before graduation. Both have plans to follow their dreams after graduation, so there are no expectations beyond just one night. The story then skips ahead about five years and we are introduced to the people that Kayla and Danny have become.

Kayla is now a single mom to twins and working in fashion while chasing her dream of having her own clothing line. All her time is spent at work, with her twins, and with the neighbor down the street that the kids call Aunt Tilly. Dan, as he is called now, is a successful business owner who is taking a break to take care of his aunt as she is getting older. It just so happens that his aunt and Kayla’s friend, Tilly, are the same person. This leads to a reunion quite a few years in the making. As their past feelings are revealed, along with a secret or two, Kayla and Danny must decide if they have e future worth exploring or if their lives are just in different places right now.

I found this book to be easy to read and the story kept my attention the whole time. As a reader, I could feel their emotions pouring off the page. There was lust, loneliness, hope, regret, and love…among others. They each had their own dreams that they were pursuing and needed to find out where they could fit each other in when it came to their plans. This is the first book that I have read from this author, but I am looking forward to book two in this series.

Devil's Spawn (Satan's Devils MC Colorado Chapter #6)Devil’s Spawn by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book has a couple of storylines that are taking place simultaneously. Although they are separate, they are intertwined and connected to make a larger story. As a fan of the previous Satan’s Devils MC books, this book delved deeper into their lives and provided the stories for some of the characters that I have enjoyed from previous books.

This book focuses on Lizard and Mace. Both are members of the MC that we have met in previous books. Like in previous books, we are introduced to new characters that will turn the lives of these men upside down. Both Lizard and Mace are die-hard bachelors that enjoy the freedom to spend evenings with the sweet butts, sometimes even sharing the sweet butts between themselves. However, Lizard has a past that refuses to let him go and Mace meets a woman who deserves more than the one night he usually gives civilian women.

Vanna and Shayla are new characters in this book…and they are both extremely strong characters. They have been dealt crappy hands in life and have done what they needed to do in order to survive and keep moving forward. I found myself enjoying both of them and wanted them to get the happiness they have earned.

This is one of those series that just gets better as it goes forward. We are constantly getting to learn more about the members of the MC, with characters from the past making appearances in every book. I am invested in these characters and am looking forward to future books. And that epilogue…I need to know more about those characters ASAP!

My Pretty (Mischief Matchmakers Book 1) by Madeline Fay – Review by Rosanna Ingram

My Pretty (Mischief Matchmakers, #1)My Pretty by Madeline Fay
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This twist on the Wizard of Oz was so much fun to read! It was funny…it was sexy…and I enjoyed it. What if the Wicked witch of the East wasn’t the bad guy and Dorothy wasn’t as innocent as she comes off to be?!? That’s the premise of this story. Add in three hunky guys and you have a story that is full of laughs and hotness!!
I found myself rooting for East in this story and wanting her to see the beauty in herself and not let the opinion of others drag her down. The twist of the Dorothy’s deceit was one that brought a whole new twist to the well-known story. It was a fun read that I found myself chuckling out loud at times.

Lisa: Coming Of Age (Book 1 of The Guardian Shifters) by KM Lowe – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Lisa: Coming Of Age (The Guardian Shifters, #1)Lisa: Coming Of Age by K.M. Lowe
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lisa’s life begins tragically when her father takes her from her mother simply because she was a girl. Surrounded by her adoptive parents and siblings, uncle Jasper, and best friend Markus, Lisa has been supported and loved by those that her around her. However, lately she has been having wild dreams that come every night. Telling Markus about these dreams sets into motion the revealing of her true family lineage which will change her world as she knows it. Lisa finds herself questioning everything she has known and wondering if the future is something she can handle. The story that KM Lowe has written puts the reader in a world filled with magic and things that Lisa believed only existed in the books she read.

I stayed up way past my bedtime to read this book because I did not want to put it down. I wanted to know what happened and how things were going to play out. Not only was Lisa and Markus’ story entertaining to read, it was also filled with real emotion and struggle that you can feel pouring off the pages. Lisa is a strong and resilient teenager that shows just how sassy and tough she can be when facing her new truths head on. Markus is a supportive best friend and soul mate that helps guide her through a world she knew nothing about only a couple of months prior. The supporting characters were also wonderful, and I am excited to read their books in the future. This is the first book that I have read by this author…but it won’t be the last.
