I’m such a sucker when it comes to cover art 🤣🙈📚❣️I already fell in love before I even got started on the first page 🤣 I know I’m so easy to please 🤫😉
So Nate and Abby have been best friends since the age of 7 when Nate defended her from the school ground bully and I think everyone in Beaumont thought they’d get married and have the white picket fence, the dogs and the 2 children but life turned out a little different ….
Nate is a delicious firefighter and has no shortage of female attention but nobody really ticks all his boxes and he’s always had a spot for Abby so it just seems natural that he’d be willing to help her have a baby , so what started as “favour” turns out to be so much more 🫶🏼
Abby has her bakery /cafe that keeps her busy and had my mouth watering on more than one occasion 🤫🙈😉 I also have a new found respect for gosh and chips 🤣🤣🤣🤣( when you read it you’ll get it it , wink wink )
I had so much fun with Nate and Abby and I must just add that Abby’s mum worked on my nerves a bit but having said that I also see her mothers heart so don’t be to hard on her 🍄😉there’s more going on that meets the eye 🌸
I think these 2 have been made for each other since the day they met and watching them finally find their way to each other has been a beautiful journey I laughed , I cried , I blushed , I had cringe moments and oh help me I’m going to melt moments ….

I love a good friends to lovers book! This was very different from others, which was a good thing. Abby and Nate have been friends forever. They live in a small town and everyone knows everyone’s business. Abby’s mom likes to meddle and setup dates for her, even if some are just plain wrong. When she confides in her sister about wanting a baby no matter what she has to do, her sister offhandedly mentions she should ask Nate. When Nate agrees but with stipulations, Abby is in for a wild ride, pun intended.
These 2 had chemistry that neither one ever wanted to explore for fear of losing the other. This author definitely made me have all the feels, the ups and downs, and all the heat up your kindle moments too. I will be reading more in this series, adding to my TBR list now.

I loved the friendship an love story between Nate and Abby. Their friendship goes back to grade school an as they have grown to adults they spend all their time together. So when Abby decides she wants a baby with a donor, why wouldn’t Nate offer his own specimen. Except he wants to do it the old fashioned way…. Can they have sex and still be friends?

I really enjoyed this friends to lovers novel, and cannot wait to read more in the series! Abby and Nate are fun and hot and steamy together. I also feel they are a tad volatile only because even though they know each other so well, they still fail miserably to communicate; especially about the important things.
Abby and Nate have been best friends since childhood, never crossing a line, until Abby passes her 40th birthday and admits that she wants a baby. Nate is quick to offer to give her a baby if they do things the old fashioned way, it is supposed to be just one time, but will that be enough for this pair?

Have you ever just wanted to reach through the page and shake some sense into a character? Well, I did. I wanted to shake some sense into both Abby and Nate. Once their relationship became more, they both should have realized that they had more than just friend-feelings for each other. I have to admit that I was completely concerned when Colin came back into town. But when Nate just took off and moved to Ocean City! OMG!!!!! Completely frustrated. This fun romp through friendship and a pregnancy is worth every minute you spend yelling at Nate just to tell Abby how he feels. The comedy, the realness of the characters, the supporting cast, the sisterhood, and so much more make this book worth every star and explicative yelled at a character! Looking forward to reading about Jane. Can’t wait for Jake to find his love.

Just One Time: A Small Town Best Friends To Lovers Romance (Beaumont Creek Book 1)
I absolutely adored this book, Abby and Nate. They had the knowledge only best friends would have. While with some it might have been weird, it worked for them.
I personally couldn’t imagine starting a family in my 40’s but know plenty of women including several in my family that have had a later in life baby.
There were so many moments that made me laugh, a few that made me cry and a few that made me pump my fist in celebration.
I definitely recommend you give it a try, hope you like it as much as I did.

This book was a best friends to lovers romance about a woman named Abby who just turned 40 and is desperate to start a family. He best friend Nate seems like the perfect place to looking for help, It could be a one time thing/hookup and if it doesn’t work then she could move on to more expensive, less convenient options. But Nate has feelings for Abby and of course she has no clue. Secrets, miscommunication and other things made this story all the more complicated and exciting to read. I really liked Abby and Nate and I enjoyed reading the ups and downs that were included in the pages of their story. I am looking forward to more by this author in the future! Happy Reading!

This is a great small town, best friends to lovers, steamy romance. Nat and Abby have been friends since they were seven. And now she wants to have a baby. It is a good quick read, funny, sweet yet with some family meddling. Fantastic side characters that I want to have more of their story especially her sister Jane.

Just One Time is a cute book about best friends set in a small town! The characters are lovely and the story is easy to follow however for me it was missing something. It followed the usual romance timelines and of course there was a miscommunication that leads to a fight but I needed something different from this!

Abby is turning 40 and everything in her is saying it’s time to have a baby. Her mom tries to set her up with an old widow which only makes Abby feel even worse. When she makes an agreement with her best friend to help bring a baby into this world, she can’t imagine anything going wrong. It would just be one time and then their friendship would resume. But how could it? They both realize they have deeper feelings, but Abby keeps pushing him away. There is plenty of steam in this book and the chemistry is palpable, but it is also hilarious! I don’t know how the author combined everything so well but I am looking forward to many more reads from her. I highly recommend picking this cute, sexy, and funny book up. It’s a magnificent start to The Beaumont Creek Series!

Oh this was such a sweet story! Abby and Nate have been best friends since they were children. Always there for one another. And now that they’re getting older…will they be there for one another in a way that’s MORE than what they’re used too? This is one of those books that just grabbed my attention from the very start and the characters are amazing! If you love a good best friends to lovers, one night stand, second chances book, read this! I LOOOOOVE Nate so much. How he’s always there for Abby just melts my heart. There’s a lot of humor in this book too and those parts absolutely killed me 🤣🤣 and as much as I loved this book it also irked my soul. Still makes it a good book though in my opinion. I want to feel all the emotions when I’m reading. Highly suggest this!

First of all, I just got to say, WOW! Such great chemistry between Abby and Nate! It starts as having a friendship since they were 7 years old and have been by each other’s side since. Just recently had her 40th birthday, Abby quite envious of pregnant wives with their husbands and their happily ever afters. Abby, still single and with no kids, just wants her turn at her own happiness. After speaking with her sister, she mentions the idea to Nate and he surprisingly decides to help her out, to have her own baby. Any type of artificial treatments are quite costly and they decide to go ahead with this “procedure” the old fashion way. Boy, do they enjoy the experience. Situation does get complicated a bit along when she does get pregnant. If you’re already interested, just go for it and read this book! It is so worth the read and makes you look forward to more! I know I can’t wait for the next one in this series!

Heartfelt. So much love in this book. Abby is a woman who feels the pressure of her biological clock. She’s always wanted to be a mom, but she can’t seem to find a partner to do that with. Nate, her childhood best friend, has always taken care of and cared for Abby, and now he wants to help make her dreams come true. A sperm donor who will be present in the child’s life, but as her best friend, not as her partner. Nate suggests saving money and making a baby the old fashioned way. They claim it will only be once, but who can really believe that? Read this book! It is fun, hot, hilarious, cute, and very heartwarming. It’s a love story you will never forget.

An enjoyable and engaging small town best friends to lovers romance which had me hooked from page one. Abby is turning forty and she can hear her biological clock ticking, as she’s always wanted to be a mother, but never found Mr Right. Successful cafe owner Abby lives in the small town of Beaumont Creek, where everyone knows everyone’s business and gossip spreads quickly. Unfortunately Abby’s mother is very controlling and judgmental, and by trying to set her daughter up with any new bachelors in town she helps keep the gossip alive surrounding Abby’s love life, or lack of it. Nate is Abby’s best friend and is willing to do anything to make her happy, even offering to be the father of her baby! They agree to spend one night together and see if she becomes pregnant. However, after one very passionate and steamy night, lines definitely become blurred between friendship and lovers and miscommunications and misunderstandings may jeopardise their future relationship. This is a heartwarming romance, with relatable and likeable characters, and I particularly liked having slightly older main characters. The chemistry between Abby and Nate really came across in the narrative and the small town setting was brought to life. I felt immersed in the storyline and invested in the characters, and I look forward to returning to Beaumont Creek!

Abby has just turned forty and finds herself feeling depressed because her life is not what she expected it to be at this point. In her mind she should be happily married to a man who loves and adores her and have beautiful children they dote on. Whenever Abby sees others living the life she feels that she should have by now she cannot help but feel a bit envious. Of course, Abby’s mom harps at her constantly about having a baby and getting married so that does not help. She feels overwhelming sadness about running out of time to have a baby and it consumes her thoughts until she gets a brilliant idea that involves her best friend Nate.
Nate and Abby have been best friends since childhood and are practically inseparable. They tell each other everything and always have each other’s backs. When Abby confides her feelings to Nate about wanting a baby, he is more than happy to help. They agree that as best friends they will be great parents and decide to take the next step in their friendship. Nate and Abby decide that rather than do costly fertility procedures that they will conceive a baby the old-fashioned way. Wary of how this will affect their friendship they discuss taking things slow but that all changes with one moment of intense passion that sparks between them.
That one moment of passion turns into several more nights of passion between them. Neither Nate nor Abby expected this to happen and are taking it one day at a time. Each finds themselves falling in love with the other, but fear of rejection stops them from discussing their feelings. When Abby becomes pregnant it is unexpected and the timing is horrible. She has recently started dating a man that her mom set her up with. Abby’s parents are unaware of the turn that Nate and Abby’s relationship took or that Abby is pregnant. What will become of Nate and Abby’s friendship? Can they ever be more than friends?
I adored this book and was surprised by the style of the author’s writing. It was not at all what I expected from a friends to lovers romance book. The relationship between Abby and Nate was unique and to be admired. They were so close that they were able to let their guard down with one another, although this was a bit reluctantly and ill-timed in Abby’s case at times. I actually laughed out loud numerous times, even during some of the steamy sex scenes. (My husband actually looked at me a few times and asked what was so funny, but we were in mixed company, so I was unable to read the parts to him that I was chuckling at.) All I will say is that they were a bit unusual and not typical of a romantic or passionate moment. For me, I felt that they were realistic and raw which made me want to read all that much more. Abby had some moments during her pregnancy that I am sure many women can relate with and Nate was a trooper through them all.
I loved this book, but I think my favorite part was when Abby told off her sister’s ex husband. I nearly peed myself laughing at what she said to him. I might have to keep Abby’s words in mind the next time someone gets on my bad side, lol. I loved this book and cannot begin to say enough good things about this author’s writing style. It was romance, passion, friendship, love, angst, and a smidge of jealousy with a side of wit and humor thrown in. I loved it and cannot wait to read more by this author.

This is book one of the series. This is a best friends to lovers romance. I just loved this book!
Abby is feeling some type of way after turning 40 and not having a family. She’s on the verge of taking matters into her own hands but man it can get expensive. After talking her feelings out with her best friend Nate and a conversation with her sister, she starts thinking that maybe the answer is right in front of her. Nate has had feelings for Abby for forever it seems. It’s an easy answer when she asks him to help her start a family. They agree it will be just one time and if it doesn’t work, Abby will explore other options. The problem is, the chemistry between the two of them is intense and what if they don’t want it to be just one time? Lack of communication leads to some issues. Will Nate ever be honest about his feelings? Will Abby? Or will Abby be raising their baby by herself?
I really enjoyed this book. It instantly sucked me in and I read it in one sitting! The chemistry between Abby and Nate jumped off the pages. Both were such great characters! You can’t help but feel frustrated at the lack of communication between them but you understand why. I definitely recommend this book! Can’t wait to see what comes next.

Just one time by Samantha Baca is a story full of romance. The passion in the book pulls you right in.
Turning 40 is not the worst thing that can happen. She can’t seem to escape her biological alarm clock, though, and I worry that time is running out. Every day that goes by increases the likelihood that she won’t fulfill her lifelong desire to become a mother.
Her mother’s frequent unsuccessful attempts to hook her up with any new bachelors in town are enough to spark small-town rumors for months. Her bossy and overly critical parent comments never go unheard. Ignore the fact that she attempted to introduce her to the elderly widow who uses a cane and has children close to her age, Old Man Bucky, who lives across the street from her.
This is about the emptiness she’s been carrying about for so long that she fears she’ll never be able to fill it. Her extraordinarily attractive closest friend is ready and prepared to assist her in realizing her dream of becoming a mother.
There is no one she trusts more, even though it may not be the traditional manner to begin a family. They also decided that it would only take place once. Whatever happens, they go with their friendship unbroken. She is aware that this is going beyond the bounds of friendship, but this is her one chance.
Every page was exciting and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. It is a very unique romance story. The story really brings passion into your life. I couldn’t put the book down.

I really enjoyed this friends to lovers romance story. It was really fast paced which made it an easy read. The characters were so engaging that you felt completely invested in them from the beginning. I read this book in one sitting as I couldn’t put it down.
Nate and Abby had been friends for years. They share a special relationship and bond that neither has with anyone else. When Abby reaches 40 she starts to question her life. She has always wanted a baby and someone to love but it hasn’t happened and she feels time is ticking away. One chat with Nate and together they come to a decision. They are best friends, they love and trust each other. So Nate offers Abby a one time thing. He will get her pregnant and she can have his baby. What could possible go wrong?
What follows is a story of discover as a one time things turns into something neither of them saw coming but both of them were scared to admit. Things aren’t all plain sailing away and there are challenges that they need to work through. There are times when as a reader you feel like banging their heads together to make them see sense and realise what they have. It is an emotional romance and I really enjoyed their journey from friends to lovers.

This was a great 5 star read. Once I started I didn’t want to put it down. Abby is getting older and she really wants to be a mom. She is also a successful business woman. It doesn’t help that her mom keeps giving her a hard time as well. When her best friend Nate offers to help things start to look up. She has cared for him for years, will things change for them? Will Nate finally admit his feelings to Abby? Overall I really enjoyed this read. All of the characters were great. And I also want to add that Nate is a firefighter, yum. I really enjoyed this book! Best friend romances are sweet and this one was no different. The author’s take in Just One Time was just different enough that it’s something I will remember. It stands out from other books in the genre. The way these characters were written was slightly frustrating at times but you still were rooting for them. Nate and Abby have been best friends for over 30 years. That’s how they ever saw each other. Unfortunately Abby wants the family and baby she always wanted and turning 40 has brought that need to the forefront. That’s where Nate comes in, they decide to try “Just One Time” to see if he could help her have a baby. What neither of them realized before that though was how much they truly cared for one another. How they actually loved the other more than a friend, but how does one navigate that? Especially when they agreed it would be just one time. So instead they are jealous and stubborn about each other. Keeping their true feelings in because they feel that’s what the other wants. All they want is for the other to be happy. Now the questions become: Was it really “Just One Time?” Did Nate help give Abby what she wants? Do they ever admit how they truly feel? I invite you to jump on the rollercoaster ride of emotions these two navigate on this adventure of life. You will be happy, sad, and even mad at them, but feeling those emotions makes for a great story. The author beautifully wrote a standalone best friends romance that didn’t disappoint.

This book is about Abby and Nate. Best friends since they were in grade school together. Abby just turned 40 and she is losing hope to ever find “the one” but her dream was always to be a mother. She could easily go to a doctor and have a procedure done to make it happen or her best friend Nate might even volunteer to help her out. When he offers to be the baby daddy, he is offering to do it the old fashion way. It would be just one time and they could go back to being best friends. Both Abby and Nate are attracted to eachother more than the other knows. Personally, I didn’t care for Abby’s character. Nate was probably the sweetest guy and from how he was described he was gorgeous too. Not to mention how he treated Abby. I feel like Abby was just breaking his heart over and over again in the book. Both of them needed to get over it and tell the other how they feel. Will Abby and Nate be able to save their friendship or will crossing the line ruin it forever?

When I first read the synopsis for this book I really felt drawn to the story and I have to say it was such a great read. I loved it from the very first page until the last. I fell in love with the characters Abby and Nate straight away although they definitely had me screaming at my kindle at times with their miscommunication! There was definitely a huge amount of chemistry between the main characters and I liked that this was about older characters and this definitely made them more relatable for me as a reader. There were some good secondary characters and I’m looking forward to reading more from this series!

Nate and Abby grabbed my heart right from the start and they still haven’t let go! They have been best friends and always there for each other since they were 7 years old. When Abby feels her biological clock ticking away they decide to have a baby together and that’s when the fun really starts! These wonderful characters created by this truly talented author keep you completely captivated right until the very last word and even beyond that! I can’t wait to return to Beaumont Creek, I just know there is more fun and love waiting for us there!

I love a small town romance and this story was fantastic. Mix in romance, friends to lovers, biological clock ticking away and a bit of angst and this is definitely the story of Abby and Nate.
Abby and Nate have been best friends since they were 7 years old. When Abby feels that her biological clock is ticking and time is running short as she turns 40, Nate proposes for her dream to become a mother to come true. The hitch, Abby becoming pregnant the “old fashioned” way. When Abby is all in with Nate, even through their friendship……the sparks are off the roof!!!! Technically both Abby and Nate were thinking “just one time”….but the passion and heat they feel for each other leads to many more times…..but then again lead to feelings that are more than being best friends and never telling each other due to fear.
When lines are crossed, communication not so clear….will Abby and Nate be able to be more than friends….definitely read and find out. You will not be disappointed.
I loved this story of Nate and Abby so much. I am totally looking forward to reading more in this series of books.

Forty year old Abby is still single and craving a baby. When she and her sister devise a plan to find a donor, they decide that her best friend, Nate, is the perfect guy. He is single too, loves her, is sexy and will help her. What Abby did not foresee was her old boyfriend coming back to town. Opinion This book was fantastic. It alternated views back and forth between Abby and Nate making it easy to know what is going through each characters minds. The hot scenes were just enough spice to not overdue it. Many scenes had laugh out loud comedic situations. I found this a perfect read for the stressful week I had at work. This is the first book in the series and I’m interested to learn more about her sister and Nate’s coworker.

Abby just turned 40 and she feels like her biological clock is ticking. She wants to start a family…but, since she is single, she isn’t quite sure how to make that dream come true. When her sister, Jane, recommends finding someone to sleep with, just one time, to try and get pregnant, Abby knows just the person. Nate, the local firefighter captain, has been Abby’s best friend since they were both 7. When Abby begins talking about finding someone to have a baby with, he volunteers. First out of friendship….but he has always had a thing for his best friend. What these two have is chemistry that is off the charts! Abby also has a pushy mother that is determined to set her up with a new local bachelor. Add in her ex-boyfriend returning…and you’ve got all sorts of situations that could go wrong. You will have to read to find out if Abby and Nate can figure out their own relationship issues before they cause a falling out that they might not be able to come back from. I enjoyed these characters. The story felt real…and some of the situations were honest and hilarious. I also enjoyed the banter and spark of interest between Jane and Capshaw…so I’m wondering if they will be the next book. Overall, a good story that kept my interest from beginning to end.

This book is a great enemies to lovers romance, with characters that have amazing chemistry. I really connected with them and loved watching how things developed between them. I also really enjoyed the fact that the main character was a little bit older than you usually find in books of this type. Most stories like this seem to focus on young women so it was nice to show how life doesn’t stop just because you reach a certain age. I thought the book was really well written. The author pulls you into the story and I was really interested in how things would work out. This is a thoroughly enjoyable book.
