I loved the cover ! The title is so very very apt ❣️What was between the pages I loved even more !!!

Before I even start my review I just want to thank the author for taking a subjects that many think is taboo , especially in adults . Thank you for honouring those that live with it everyday , thank you for honouring those who live with those who deal with it everyday . Thank you for making other people see it from a different perspective , I’m so grateful for you . I appreciate you ❣️

Evan and Owen are twins , both play for the NHL, the Adler family is a hockey family only has retired due to mental health reasons and I could only begin to imagine the disappointment Evan must’ve felt but he doesn’t lie down and fade , yes he struggles but he becomes coach to the girls gymnastic team…..

Callie , what a gem of a girl ❣️our first introduction was at a press conference for Nico , her brother in law and you can just feel the love she has for her brother in law and her family . Nico goes public with his diagnosis and this is where I just got into an emotional mess ….Callie has always had a crush on the Adler twins one , however is taken , the other not and I think we have a match ladies and gentlemen 😉

Watching Evan and Callie was a privilege, a journey filled with tears and hurdles but filled with love , support ,friendship, hope and encouragement ❣️

A shout from the ice rink and bars kind of read ❣️📕

Be prepared for this book to hit you in the feels. I personally wasn’t prepared for a book that so much related what I was going through and I try to stay away from those kind of books however this one was good. Each character is well developed and important to the story! The chemistry the between the characters can be felt off the pages and readers never want the story to end!

You want a book that hits you in all the right places of the heart then one click this one. From the first chapter I knew I was in for a great read. Evan and Callie are totally going to steal every bit of your heart trust me and you’ll give it over willingly. The absolute only downside to this story was that it had to end but I’d read it over and over again easily. The characters are complex and relatable, issues that real people have to deal with on a daily basis are discussed and while not always easy the author does a wonderful job at it. I’d give more stars if possible but just know it’s even bit as amazing as the five stars I’m giving it. Highly recommended!

This book is so much more! Saved by Love doesn’t just fall into the romance category. It hits some potentially very heavy topics along the way. Mental illness being a big one. Autism being a big theme throughout as well. The way the author co-mingles these topics works beautifully. I loved this book, I wasn’t sure I wanted to read it at first. Why, because when books are in a series I usually like to start at book 1. However, besides now having to go back and read the other, this book is just as fantastic as a stand-alone novel.
Callie and Evan both are damaged in their own way. Callie brings everything Evan wants and then some to the table. Unfortunately his mental instability is holding him back. Retiring extremely early in his NHL career, Evan struggles with severe anxiety. Anyone who suffers from anxiety and or depression can relate. You can also relate how being caught in one’s head holds you back. Which is Evan in a nutshell. Callie is the breath of fresh air he never knew he needed.
A small crush no big deal, or so Callie thought. However Evan doesn’t recognize her. Allowing them to get to know each other without anyone holding them back. A screwed up childhood Callie is preserving. Hoping she can rub off some of that success onto Evan.
Now I briefly touched on the autism theme, which is something near and dear to my heart. The way the author represents autism as a minor theme made me extremely happy, I even shed a tear at some points.
Don’t let this book pass you by because you haven’t read the ones that have come before it, you’ll be disappointed if you do. Jump in doesn’t matter that it’s book 7!

Saved by love is a story about two athletes. One is a man who’s dreams were ripped away from him when he was forced to medically retire from the NHL. As he tries to move on with his life, he gets a job training the women’s gymnastic team. There he meets Callie, a star gymnast who works hard and loves harder. She is a sweet girl who cares about everyone so when she sees how down on himself Evan is, she makes it her mission to help him realize his worth. Through this journey they form a love that helps their future.
I really enjoyed this book. It is a great love story that is well developed and makes you feel hope again right along with the characters. It is easy to lose yourself in the book and I can’t wait to read the rest of the stories in the series.

Looking at the reviews before I read this book, it seemed that this is the story that so many people were waiting for. I was kind of worried that I may a bit lost by reading the 7th book in the series having not read any of the others but that was not the case. Although I can sense that there are other great stories that I now want to read, this book can be read as a standalone easily as the author fills any gaps there may have been.
I really need to read some of the other books by this author now as I absolutely loved Evan and Callie’s story. As someone who suffers badly with mental health issues I could relate to Evan so much. I just wanted to give that man a huge hug. The author does an amazing job of handling Evan’s mental health journey. I loved how she showed just how much the love and support of those around him, in particular Callie, allowed Evan to work through his issues.
This is so much more than a romance story, although I loved the romantic side of Evan, added to the fact that this is a very sexy story at times. Evan and Callie are amazing characters and I could have read about them for hours and hours.
Well worth the 5 stars!!

I have not read anything by this author before and went in blind (that cover called to me).
New adult books arent my usual go to reads but will read them as they can have great stories, just not my favorite age range.
I instantly fell in love with both of these main characters and the realness and rawness of what they went through, how they are coping and how they deal day in and day out.
Throw in the autism awareness components and I was hooked (as a mom of a child with autism this was so beautifully done)

I will be reading more from this author as they have a gift of telling a story you feel to your core.

I find it strange that for someone like me who is so NOT sporty how much I actually do love a good sports romance! I was drawn into this story from the very start and was held captive till the last word. This is the first book I have read from this author and it definitely will be the first of many for me I am sure. While I read this book in the series and fully enjoyed it I will however be going back to the very start of the series to read all the prior books to further enhance my understanding and enjoyment. I mean its the thing to do when you enjoy something so much right?
Evan and Callie are wonderful characters who held a place in my heart for the entire book. Evans battles with extreme anxiety rang true to me as mental health is dealt with on a daily basis in my own home. It was written with love and hope which is something we all need in our lives right??

A hockey player and a gymnast. Both are lost in different ways. Evan is dealing with a host of mental health issues while Callie is trying to find her way in the world after losing both of her parents and being raised by her sister. She desperately wants her brother-in-law to adopt her too.

This book focuses on several real-world issues and I appreciate the author tackling these. Some of them are more difficult than others! I think that’s my favorite part of this story, is how the characters aren’t your typical picture-perfect people. They are flawed and that’s what ultimately makes this story loveable.

While this book is part of a series, I read it as a stand-a-lone. I am guessing the previous books cover some of the other characters that we read about in this story but I did not feel at a loss while reading this one. However, I do believe that I will go back and read the previous books for more context.

Whew! That was an emotional journey! Mental Health is a subject that can be touchy. This author did a wonderful job pulling me into the characters which then immersed me into their story. I enjoyed learning about the angst and stress these characters lived under and tried to overcome. Meeting the families add all the fun into the story but then as families do they add pressure and different stress to the main characters.

Overall there are many reasons to like and enjoy this story. I loved the two main characters and all they overcome. Saved by Love is the perfect title for this book. Give it a shot and prepare to be shocked and surprised.

Saved by Love was a phenomenal read. It is book #7 in the Bellevue Bullies series. I’m gonna be honest….I never read books 1-6. I had just finished a book and was looking for something to read when I came across Saved by Love. The title alone caught my eye (I’m a sucker for a good love story). After reading the synopsis and some of the reviews I figured out I could read this like a standalone, I did, and I’m sooooo glad I did. It is such a good story!
I’m not gonna say too much since I don’t wanna give anything away. I will say is, the storyline is amazing, the characters are great and loveable, if you decide to read this be prepared for all the emotions!
My favorite thing about this book was the “Mental Health” issues. I have never read a book where the author allows the characters to openly say “Hey I have Mental health issues and It’s ok” or “I have mental health issues and I need help”. I feel like mental health is so important and needs to be talked about. I give the AUTHOR 2 BIG HIGH FIVES for touching on mental health related issues and showing how people struggle through them and how they can over come some of those.
I am definitely going to have to read 1-6 now!!!

There is so much about this story to love. From the supportive family to the tender way the author handled anxiety to the understanding of Autism and so much more. This was my first novel in this series and by this author but I can see many more in my future.

Evan is hockey royalty. His father won multiple cups and is headed to the Hall. His mother owned a successful franchise but his sister owns the team. His twin and he were drafted to an elite team. Evan decides he doesn’t want to play anymore and retires only a few years after starting in the NHL. All Evan can do is think that his family is disappointed in his choices. Evan decides to go back to college and finish his degree.

Calli loves hockey and is familiar with who Evan is thanks in part to her brother-in-law being a NHL goalie. When Evan winds up being the athletic trainer for Callie’s gymnastics team, it gives her a chance to get to know Evan. Callie can’t stay away from Evan. Their connection is deep and instant. They start trying to be friends and it just goes from there.

There is so much that both Callie and Evan keep secret from the outside world. Each one has to be willing to let their walls down and expose themselves to make this relationship work. Can they do it? There seems like there are so many obstacles stacked against them.

Again, the way the individual issues, anxiety, cancer, Autism, overall mental health, family, trauma, are handled is amazing. I need to go back and read Nico and Aviva’s story. This author gained a loyal reader and I gained about 20 new books added to my TBR list. This story was great!!!! (in case I wasn’t clear about that before) Worth every minute!

I love that this book talked about not just mental health in general, but specifically men’s mental health. Mental health is still such a taboo subject and to have a book that talks about it is great! Men’s mental health is more taboo that women’s because men are seen as strong, virile, and like nothing can get to them. When in reality that is not the case, they are just as prone to mental health issues as women and should never be ashamed of it.
I loved the characters of Evan and Callie, I think they were a great match. I can’t wait to read more in this series!

Saved by Love (Bellevue Bullies Series #7) by Toni Aleo

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Saved by Love is an amazing read. It shows that all humans aren’t perfect. Some of us have mental health issues that we don’t talk about. This book shows that athletes also deal with mental health issues and that isn’t talked about very often.

Callie hasn’t had the best childhood, but her sister gave her the best she could. Losing her mother at a young age due to a horrible thing, her sister ends up with it as well. Then she meets Evan. Can the two of them get their happily ever after? The quote I chose for Callie is: “What dickbags? I don’t even know their names. I don’t even want to know their names. I wouldn’t recognize them in the crowd. All I see is youuuuu…”

Evan has stepped away from Hockey. Not any Hockey the NHL. He’s taking care of himself and not playing is part of the new journey he’s on. He isn’t expecting Callie to show up in his life, but he sure is glad. Can Evan ever overcome the fear of ice? The quote I chose for Evan is:“I’m not going home with her. I’m going to Owen and Angie’s, but I am riding with her.”

Highly recommended for New Adult lovers.

Saved by Love (Bellevue Bullies Series Book 7)

I had seen mentions of this series a few times but hadn’t had a chance to explore.   Finally got that chance I decided to start with this book instead of book one, but that wasn’t an issue because this was a story all on it’s own and I really liked my introduction to the Bullies

Evan is finally getting his feet back under him after his dealing with his medical issues that led to his retirement.  He really had no idea what to expect when he went to college.

Callie hasn’t always had an easy life but things are good for her. Her home life is much improved, school and gymnastics are going well.  Then she meets Evan and there is a whole new level.

There was obviously back stories for most of the people involved but it was so easy to pick up without reading any of the others though now that I have had tried this book I will be looking at reading more in this series and the Ice Cats series and probably read this one again.

This story hit home with me. Anxiety and mental illness is a real part of peoples life, and I think it’s was well displayed in this story. Evans story related so much to myself, anxiety can wreck you self confidence and cause you to doubt yourself and everything and everyone around you. Callie was such a supporter of Evan, it goes to show everyone deserves to love and to be loved I also loved how therapy was not overlooked. It showed that there is no shame in going to therapy or taking medications to be your beat self, and everyone could use a little therapy, someone unbiased yo talked to.

It was a wonderful story of self love, support and struggles.

I have never read any work by this author but that will change soon. I have to say, this book was a breath of fresh air. This book touches on lots of subjects. Crazy college kids, pro hockey players making tough decisions affecting their career, young love, family, mental health…you name it.
Evan is a pro hockey player with his twin brother. However, Evan doesn’t love it like everyone thinks he does. He has severe anxiety and after consideration he decides to retire and that’s when he spots Callie. He is now working close with the gymnastics team and Callie calls dibs on him before any of her teammates can. Callie knows who Evan is because he’s on the team with her brother in law. Evan is basically just a shell of himself until he meets Callie and begins to get close to her. Callie has been crushing on Evan and ever since their literal run in, Evan want seem to get her off his mind. It’s not as easy as two strangers meeting, Callie’s brother in law has warned all his teammates away from Callie for many years. Does that mean she’s off limits to
Evan or does it not matter since Evan is no longer part of the team?
I really enjoyed reading this hidden gem and was pleasantly surprised with this book. I look forward to more by this author.

This book had a bit of everything and didn’t disappoint. I haven’t read the rest of the series before jumping into this book but I will be reading every book in it now. The book tackles serious issues but with a sense of dignity and class that is not always given in your typical sport romance books. It is based around hockey and the leading male character shows huge growth throughout the story. The leading female character seems to be the perfect match for the main man. She has a job that requires her to pay attention to non-verbal ques from others. This sets the tone for some serious topics which are eye opening and allows you to fully connect to the characters in the book. This was a good quick read but not one that you read and completely forget within a few days. It makes you become fully immersed into the book and the details allow you to feel like you’ve been reading it forever when you haven’t. I don’t mean that in a bad way but when you don’t want a book to end because it is so good, you get that feeing with this one but don’t feel like the books ends out of no where. I can’t wait to go back read the rest of this series. I highly recommend if y’all have a day to devote to reading, this should be the book y’all pick up.

Evan has given up a career he was destined for to serve others. Callie is making a name for herself and trying to find her place in the world. Not all relationships are destined for success, but they’re willing to help each other through every obstacle they encounter.
At a time when mental health is at the forefront of so many discussions this story was well-timed. Toni Aleo shows the type of mental health support all people need and deserve. The characters were fun and loveable and their chemistry and love for one another is palpable. An easy read with a feel-good plot.

I love this book so much! I would give this book 10 stars if I could. Reading from the POV of Evan, who’s going through a lot emotionally, has me relate to him so much. And I love that it shows that men go though things too. They have bad days. They get emotional. They have panic attacks. They get paranoid and constantly think they’re doing something wrong. He’s a good looking, extremely nice man but he’s always doubting himself. He thinks he’s not good enough for anyone or anything. And I relate to that so much, so this book was such an amazing read. I read it so quickly too!! Evan and Callie, they’re cute af together. She’s so understanding and lifts him up so much, it makes my heart melt. Callie has been through some hard times too, but that doesn’t stop her from trying to make him feel better. And Evan is there for her as well. They’re great for each other! So much support and so much love. As for Callie and her sister Aviva…AMAZING relationship. I so badly wish I had that kind of relationship with mine. They’re always there for each other and it’s amazing. You don’t see family like that anymore. Can’t forget, the spice in this book was great as well! HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this book.

This is my first book by this author and I loved this story of Evan and Callie. The raw emotion between Evan and Callie feels so real.

Evan…newly retired from the NHL heads to Bellevue and become an athletic trainer for the woman’s gymnastics team. Focusing on himself and his mental health…trying to become the best version of himself…little did he know when meeting Callie how this chance encounter could forever change him. Callie is so strong, driven and smart .. but loves with all her might. She falls for Evan and is always is in his corner when he struggles. Can Evan and Callie overcome the obstacles that come their way?

This story really gives you so much…and it feels like everyday real life in so many ways that I can relate to. This story has love and hope but also the pain and anxiety when mental health is in question. Fantastic book

Battling crippling anxiety is not easy. Evan gives up his job in the NHL in order to save his mental health. He returns to college and takes on two jobs. The first as an RA for the school’s hockey team. The second job is as a trainer for the girls gymnastics team.
On day one on campus, he meets Callie, a gymnast, and is intrigued by her. They actually have met before but he doesn’t remember. Even though he plans on staying single and focusing on his mental health, he cannot stay away from her.
Opinion
I love this series. Hockey romances speak to me and this one is a fabulous read. Add in the sweet innocence of their love and this book is a solid winner. The struggles in this book are a bit different than what I’ve read before, especially Callie’s family struggles. It was quite intriguing. Altogether, the book was fabulous.

Saved by Love (Bellevue Bullies #7)Saved by Love by Toni Aleo
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Toni Aleo is one of the reigning queens of hockey romance, and she lives up to all of the hype and wonderful reviews she gets from her readers. I’m so glad I discovered her several years ago.

Now, it’s Evan and Callie’s turn to share their story with us, and what a beautiful story it is. Evan has come home to Nashville after retiring from the NHL. He is taking the time to focus on his mental health. Now, he finds himself surrounded by women gymnasts instead of hockey players. He has just begun his job as the athletic trainer for the gymnastics team. Callie and Evan’s paths have crossed before, as Callie’s sister is married to a hockey player, but they have never really had the opportunity to get to know each other.

When Callie sees him jogging one day with the hockey team, she decides she is going to take her chance with him. Her lust soon turns to something deeper when she discovers that he is struggling with feelings of worthlessness and being a failure. Both of them are soon on the path to finding out what true love really is and how it can truly save you…hence the perfect title of this book, Saved by Love!

I admired both Callie and Evan. I could totally relate to both of them. Evan feels like a failure for leaving the NHL because of his family’s legacy in the sport. He feels as if he is letting them down, especially his father. Who hasn’t felt at times that we have disappointed those we love? I know I have felt that way myself, even though I may not have. It was the same for Evan. I admired his tenacity and his focus on his mental health and his commitment to ridding himself of those feelings of worthlessness and failure.

While Cassie wants to make everyone she is around to feel the love and support that she has from her sister and brother-in-law, she still struggles with trust because of her family’s past issues. She hasn’t been able to let someone in to share those deep feelings of uncertainty and fear. Somehow, Evan is able to do just that!

While I loved the characters, both the main characters and secondary ones, I loved the story even more. Aleo always dives deeply underneath the surface and tackles important issues which make both the characters and story more realistic and relatable. Aleo never disappoints and that is what puts her on top of my list of favorite writers.

This book kept me turning the pages! Evan Adler has recently medically retired from the NHL and recently became and athletic trainer for a women’s gymnastics team. His whole family has been involved in hockey on one form or another and he feels as though he let them all down. Callie Pearce knows a thing or two about hockey, but her heart lies in gymnastics. When she sees Evan running by with the hockey team one day she calls dibs and decides to take her shot. Will they find love and happiness together? I feel it was admirable of Eva though, even of he is a fictional character, to step away from what he loved for his mental health. It is a serious subject that doesn’t get as much attention as it should, but has been coming to light more often. The author did a great job and now I need to go find the rest of the books in the series.

Saved by Love (Bellevue Bullies #7)Saved by Love by Toni Aleo
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I did not read the first books in the series but I am going to fix that soon. Evan and Callie are endgame and I want to be them when I grow up. Everything about them and all their struggles. Him the broken man and her the caring sweet heroine.
