Saved by Love (Bellevue Bullies Book 7) by Toni Aleo – Review by M Policicchio

Saved by Love (Bellevue Bullies #7)Saved by Love by Toni Aleo
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

There is so much about this story to love. From the supportive family to the tender way the author handled anxiety to the understanding of Autism and so much more. This was my first novel in this series and by this author but I can see many more in my future.

Evan is hockey royalty. His father won multiple cups and is headed to the Hall. His mother owned a successful franchise but his sister owns the team. His twin and he were drafted to an elite team. Evan decides he doesn’t want to play anymore and retires only a few years after starting in the NHL. All Evan can do is think that his family is disappointed in his choices. Evan decides to go back to college and finish his degree.

Calli loves hockey and is familiar with who Evan is thanks in part to her brother-in-law being a NHL goalie. When Evan winds up being the athletic trainer for Callie’s gymnastics team, it gives her a chance to get to know Evan. Callie can’t stay away from Evan. Their connection is deep and instant. They start trying to be friends and it just goes from there.

There is so much that both Callie and Evan keep secret from the outside world. Each one has to be willing to let their walls down and expose themselves to make this relationship work. Can they do it? There seems like there are so many obstacles stacked against them.

Again, the way the individual issues, anxiety, cancer, Autism, overall mental health, family, trauma, are handled is amazing. I need to go back and read Nico and Aviva’s story. This author gained a loyal reader and I gained about 20 new books added to my TBR list. This story was great!!!! (in case I wasn’t clear about that before) Worth every minute!
