Scoring Chance was a quick, easy, happy read! I loved how Eden went from poor and working a few jobs, going to school to try to better herself to having an easy life with amazing people around her helping her succeed!
Rhett knows Eden is like a piece of forbidden fruit to not be touched but he can’t get her out of his head.
Both Eden and Rhett have a dark past that is hard for them to deal with. Being Rhett is a hockey player, Eden knows she can never be in the stands to cheer him on because of her past.
This book was a great read and I loved how the story unfolded. I absolutely loved the characters and cannot wait for more from this author.

This is a wonderful story. All about second chances and really living every day. In here we meet Eden and Rhett. Both have a tragic past but one has learned from it and the other hides from it. Will they be able to meet in the middle and find each other?

The characters in here are a lot. We have the two main ones then a bunch of secondary characters. The couples (Devin/Kassie and Barrett/Adelaide) each really peaked my interest. They both made me wonder about their stories. The adopted family of Eden was great as well. They gave nice pushes to Eden when she needed them.

Overall this is a good story. The characters were nicely done. This is my first book by this author. She does a good job with the stories flow. The characters have depth to them that make them interesting.

Scoring Chance: A Mile High Miners Novella by Lane Martin is a great little quick and easy read. This is my first read from Lane Martin, but it definitely won’t be the last. I really didn’t know what to expect going into the story, but thought the blurb looked interesting and took a chance. This is a contemporary sports romance. The series focuses on the Mile High Miners Hockey team, and in this book we follow Rhett Crawford, who is one of the goalies for the team. His life takes an interesting turn when he meets Eden Snow. But she’s the forbidden fruit he isn’t supposed to taste. The live-in Nanny for his team captain. Nothing tastes quite as sweet as forbidden fruit, right? So get set as the sparks fly.
A great read, and I am looking forward to more from the Mile High Miners, and Ms. Martin!

Thank you, Lane Martin!

I started this lovely little novella earlier this evening, and once I started it, I shut everything else out to keep reading. I couldn’t stop. I adored Eden, and I adored Rhett too, he was so sweet and charming and even endearing at times. I could feel for Eden and some of the things she had gone through. There were definite moments I felt I would need a cold shower as the level of steam in this book could melt a whole ice rink (pun intended). I loved all the small little Harry Potter references, though I would disagree on Gryffindor being the best house (Proud Slytherin Here) other than that It was brilliant and I look foward to reading more about the Miners Hockey Team and their women.

Scoring Chance : A Mile High Miners Novella by Lane Martin is a short is a short read that once I started reading I couldn’t put it down till the end so I finished . This is my first read by this Author and definitely won’t be the last. There were times I felt like I was on a emotional rollercoaster ride my emotions were all over the place. The story flowed smoothly and the characters were very well developed and easily relatable. Rhett and Eden are both stronger than they realize but both have broken pasts. Rhett is a goalie for the Miners even though he’s yet to get anytime on the ice. When these two meet there is definitely attraction. Neither one of them can get the other out of there mind. What does their future look like? Will she give him a chance ? Find out what happens next in this must read. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

Scoring Chance: A Mile High Miners Novella by Lane Martin was an easy steamy and romantic read. I could not out this book down. Eden Snow and Rhett Crawford are the main characters. They were developed well, easy to relate to, and realistic. I loved the quotes used in building their relationship that originated from one of my favorite childhood books. This story was sweet, tragic, and refreshing. I loved the setting and how both main characters worked to build a nonprofit organization for kids. This story was touching and I loved it. I highly recommend it and look forward to reading more from this author.

5 +++++++ stars

First time author for me and HOLY COW I loved this book…read it in a very short time in one sitting and found I couldn’t read it fast enough. It was a constantly moving story and by that I mean there was no added fluff that was unneeded while reading. I love this style of writing where every word just flowed perfectly and smoothly.

I fell head over heels in love with Rhett and Eden, both broken yet both with strength they didn’t even know they had. I loved how Rhett handled everything about Eden, and I loved even more when his alpha side would come out. This is my first book also in this series and I will have them all because I also loved the other characters in this book. My favorite I think being Robin and all that she stood for in Edens life.

This book will hit you in all the feels… I laughed and there was one particular part that took my breath away, and I had some tears.

This is an amazing story and not only will I read the rest of this series but I will definitely be reading more from this author!

Loved it!!!!

Scoring Chance is a fantastic novella in the Mile High Miners Series by Lane Martin. I had never previously read any work by this author but was attracted by the blurb and decided to give it a try. I’m so glad that I took a chance on a new author to me. This novella, although only 138 pages long, has so much packed into it. It really is a fantastic story.
Set around the Mile High Miners NHL team, Scoring Chance gives us the story of new goal tender, Rhett Crawford and Eden Snow who is the friend and ‘live-in nanny’ of the team captain and his wife.
Both Rhett and Eden have had very troubled and difficult childhoods and a relationship isn’t high on either’s priority list, however, the attraction between the 2 off the charts hot. As much as Rhett does everything to make Eden want him, issues from her past just make her push him away.
I loved both Rhett and Eden. Added to them both are a really great list of secondary characters who add so much to the story, including Rhett’s teammates and some of their better halves who befriend Eden.
This is a fantastic story of overcoming a difficult childhood, slaying your demons and going all out for what you want and Lane Martin has done an amazing job with this. I would definitely recommend this book to others.

The characters made the story feel real, connectable. This story is full of romance and a past that is haunting where the truth is just raging to come out. What happens when a forbidden fruit is just too delicious not to go after? Rhett and Eden are great characters that will leave you wanting more. I highly recommend reading this story to find out what happens!

By Lane Martin

The story Scoring Chance: A Mile High Miners Novella by Lane Martin is a sports romance book. It pulls you in from the beginning and doesn’t let you go until the final page. I loved reading about the characters of Rhett Crawford and Eden Snow. Rhett is a goalie for the Miners. While he hasn’t had time on the ice he loves being on the team and wants to learn all that he can. When he meets Eden, she soon becomes a distraction. He can’t stop thinking about her. Eden is a young woman who is strong, independent, and stubborn. She too can’t get Rhett out of her mind. There is an instant attraction between Rhett and Eden. Rhett knows that she is considered forbidden. What does the future hold for the two of them? Will Eden give Rhett a chance? Read this book to find out. This is a story that had my emotions going up and down the entire time I was reading it. I found myself caring about Rhett and Eden with every chapter that I read. There are other characters that I enjoyed reading about and their interactions with Rhett and Eden. Don’t miss out on an amazing story that you won’t want to put down until you have finished it. I highly recommend reading it.

Scoring Chance –

When a hockey player is in a bar after a game.

Just kidding. I’m Rhett Crawford.

I’m a player, not a PLAYER.

I’m not even on the official Miners roster. Yet. You see, the NHL only allows you to have two goalies. That leaves me in the stands at every home game and twiddling my thumbs when the team is away just biding my time. Do I wish I were on the ice with the guys? Hell yeah, but in the meantime, I’m going to take it as a chance to learn as much as I can.

Eden Snow is a distraction I wasn’t counting on. One I can’t ignore. The kind with plump juicy lips and doe eyes the color of chocolate. The problem? My team captain told me she’s off-limits.

Eden is forbidden fruit.

The kind you need to sink your teeth into.

Bite after delicious bite.

Eden may not know it yet, but I’m about to tempt her.

I just hope she’ll take a shot on me.

Being a writer never crossed my mind as something I would do. I was a working wife and mother, but in June of 2012 that all changed when my sister bought me a little book by E.L. James for my birthday. I couldn’t get enough of the series, and that’s when I found out about Fanfiction. I decided to give it a whirl and rediscovered a part of myself I had long since forgotten. With the encouragement of my Fanfiction readers and the support of my family, I decided to write something of my own. I guess you can say the rest is history. I currently live in Northern California with my husband of over twenty-five years and my son, while my daughter attends college in Washington, DC. I love reading, cardio drumming, and spending time with my family.  I look forward to traveling to new places for signings and trying out restaurants that have been seen on Food Network. Thank you for joining me on this crazy ride.
