I really enjoyed reading this Novella: Scoring Chance. With it being only 138 pages I wasn’t sure if the story would run short, it did not I assure you. Lane Martin has done a great job with this book, the characters are relatable and it was stacked with enough suspense and romance. The story had me gripped from start to finish. Eden tale is original and not what I expected in the beginning. Rhett is such a loveable character and came into Eden’s life just at the right time. I look forward the reading more books from Lane Martin.

This was a short, but sweet love story between Rhett and Eden. I loved both of these characters. They had challenges to overcome to secure their happy ending. They had ups and downs, but I think that their journey made them so likable. They had great chemistry as well! This story was a fun read.

I haven’t read a sports romance story but I’m thinking I may have been missing out. Looking forward to reading more by Lane Martin.

Scoring Chance: A Mile High Miners Novella by Lane Martin 5 stars!
What a beautiful story! Sports themed romances are always a hit. Rhett and Eden both have their own issues they are going through and pasts they are dealing with. Eden is a strong woman although she thinks otherwise and will never bring herself to ask for help. Because of her past is wary to trust or get involved with anyone, until Rhett breaks down all her walls. Rhett is a wonderful man and although he has his own demons, he will not give up on making Eden his. He is very patient with her and loving, so I fell for him right away.
The secondary characters in Eden’s life such as Robin, Adelaide and Cassie, help shape Eden into the woman she is today and help her in opening up and depending more on others. The work they are doing for other kids in the system like Eden and Adelaide is so meaningful and made the story that much more beautiful. I can’t wait to read about the next couple in the series!

Scoring Chance: A Mile High Miners Novella by Lane Martin. This is a new to me author. I can not wait to read more!!! This was a fairly short read. I fell head over heels in love with Rhett and his never give up attitude when it came to Eden. They were two people that definitely deserved to be happy…. I am so looking forward to reading the next book and to see Niko fall to his knees over a woman.

Scoring Chance: A Mile High Mariners Novella by Lane Martin is a 4 star read. When Eden was 12 years old her mother was arrested and sent to prison leaving Eden to go into the foster care system, she finds it hard to trust people so when she’s offered the chance of a lifetime to be able to finish school without having to work 3 jobs to just keep her head above water. Rhett is the rookie goalie for the mariners, he’s running from a childhood that took his older brother away from him. When Rhett and Eden first met there was an instant connection but Eden is running can Rhett get her to stay? I really enjoyed this story.

As soon as I started reading this story I was pulled in and I couldn’t put it down. There are so many wonderful characters in this book but I totally fell in love with Rhett and Eden. These two have been through a lot of heartache growing up but they have become strong independent people. Rhett is a professional hockey player, he is the third string goalie and hoping to learn as much as he can while he waits to be able to play. Eden is going to school and can’t wait to help children who are in a position that she was once in. The chemistry between these two when they meet is off the charts. To find out if these two hit it off or not this is a must read!! I found myself getting caught up in all the feels this story gave me and I can’t wait to read the next book. I highly recommend this book.

I love finding new authors work to read so when I came across Scoring Chance I couldn’t wait to get started and I really enjoyed it! I like novellas, they are usually just long enough to get into and great for when you just want a short read – this was a fantastic novella! The storyline was great, the characters were well developed and I was hooked from beginning to end. I loved Rhett and Eden’s story – both with troubled pasts but I just knew the minute that they met there was something between them! Alongside both Rhett and Eden were some great secondary characters and I really hope we get to see more of them in the series – I shall definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for more from this author!

Scoring Chance : A Mile High Miners Novella by Lane Martin 4 of 5 Stars I enjoyed this novella by Lane Martin, it’s a contemporary sports romance and is a fairly quick read at only 138 pages. Although it’s a short read it is a full story with no cliffhanger ending and the author has ensured the novella is action packed. The story is based around the team members of the ‘Mile High Miners Hockey team’ and in particular goalie Rhett Crawford, who is left ‘twiddling his thumbs’ when not playing with his team mates on the ice. Rhett admits that he is a ‘player’ and enjoys the attention that being in the Miners gets him from the ladies but this changes when he meets Eden Snow. Unfortunately as the live in nanny to his captains children she is ‘forbidden fruit’, as his captain has made it clear she is off limits to his team members. Eden has also been told there is a ‘no boys in the house’ rule, which is fine by her as after a difficult childhood she is focused on her job and in getting an education. However neither Rhett or Eden can deny or ignore the sizzling chemistry between them from the first time they meet. I loved the two main characters and how their relationship developed over time, with both their troubled pasts playing a part in keeping them apart. I did find the story a bit confusing in part as there were so many secondary characters, mainly Rhett’s Miners team mates and their partners but the guys were all called different names as they were either referred to by their first name, surname or a nickname and it did make it a bit confusing. A list of characters at the beginning would have been helpful. It didn’t matter that I’m not particularly a hockey fan as I was hooked from page one based on the characters and their storyline. As a novella I read it in one sitting and I’m hoping Lane Martin is going to continue writing about the Mile High Miners Hockey Team. A great read which I definitely recommend.

This is a lovely heartwarming story about 2 people who overcome their childhoods to find love.
Eden is a college student who needs help with her student fees, so she is sent to the home of Mile High Miners NHL Captain Barrett and his wife Adelaide where in exchange for her fees being paid she becomes their live-in nanny.
Things seem to be working well until Barrett brings home his team mate Rhett Crawford.
Rhett has also had a trouble upbringing but upon meeting Eden he immediately feels a conncection to her. Even though his Captian Barrett has told him Eden is off limits he can’t stop the attraction between them.
Will Eden give in to the temptation’s Rhett is offering or will her childhood force her to push him away.

Scoring Chance: A Mile High Miners Novella by Lane Martin is a sports romance novella. For being a novella, I was highly surprised at how well this story was written in detail. This is the first book I have read by this author and it won’t be my last. It takes you on an emotional roller coaster that’s for sure between laughing and crying. The characters have so much detail that you will fall in love with them! We follow Rhett Crawford who is a hockey player and Eden Snow who is forbidden fruit according to the captain of the hockey team. That just adds to the temptation that is Eden and Rhett, can they stay away from each other? I can’t wait to read more by this author!

Scoring Chance: A Mile High Miners Novella by Lane Martin is a contemporary sports romance that is entertaining and is a quick read that is easy to get lost in. Lane’s writing is on point and does not fill a story with unnecessary words. This little gem of a story takes us on a journey of hardship and unexpected understanding. It made me laugh and was full of emotions. It is also full of swoon worthy men and loveable women and I loved the pay it forward idea. Eden is forbidden fruit but Rhett is sure of one thing and that is she will be his but to get there he must travel a long and winding road.
This is my first book I have read by Lane Martin and I look forward to reading more about the Mile High Miners Hockey team.

Scoring Chance: A Mile High Miners Novella by Lane Martin was a sweet sporty romance that I really enjoyed reading. It’s not everyday you get a good blend of sports, romance, and forbidden passion. Rhett is trying to make it onto the team while dealing with temptation and a personal problem. Eden has a chance to make her dreams come true without exhausting herself and being on the brink of failing. While a little on the slower side I did enjoy the peak into the mental struggle and dialogue it takes to take a chance. This story to me felt like two people trying to make it out of tough circumstances into something better, while battling their inner demons to be together. Mind you that there are rules in place that would prefer them to be apart. I really enjoyed the story and hope to read more soon!

I just finished reading this novella and I have to say, it was a wonderful read. Rhett has all the charm and sexiness of a perfect gentleman and isn’t afraid to fight for what he wants. Eden is a sweet and stubborn female who is also a fighter too but taken completely off guard by the sexy, hot hockey player. Their story is sweet and steamy, it made me laugh, fan myself a few times, and brought tears to my eyes. If you want something that will brighten your day and bring about laughter and tears then I recommend you pick up a copy of this book and read it. Its worth it.

Temptation at its finest. Never dangle a fruit in front of a starving man. I enjoyed every page if this book. I’ve never watched hockey but I can understand the thrill. Rhett and Eden are amazing characters. I felt their fun and loving natures through the pages. You could feel the energy and excitement coming from this story in waves. I liked how confident and open Rhett was. I couldn’t get enough! The author did amazing with this story. Every character had a reason and flowed together nicely. I like the attention to detail and the depth the characters had. I love stories that get you to the point. Stories that give you the right amount of background but doesn’t let it crowd the present. This was sweet and to the point. Great job!

Scoring Chance is a novella in the Mile High Miners series by Lane Martin. This is my first novella by this author.
This novella focuses on Rhett Crawford who is the goalie for the Mile High Miners Hockey Team. His life is pretty simple until he meets Eden Snow who is a live in Nanny for the team. But sparks fly between the two even though Rhett is warned to stay away from her.
I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading more by this author.

One of the great things about this story is that there isn’t a bunch of extraneous detail to sift through. The story moves quickly and keeps the focus where it needs to be. Scoring Chance: A Mile High Miners Novella by Lane Martin tells of the slow building romance between Eden, a college student who has had a tough upbringing and Rhett, an Ice Hockey player who has faced a great deal of loss. They get off to a shaky start after a chance encounter at the home of one of Rhett’s teammates.
I really enjoyed this novella, I loved how the author slowly reveals secrets from the characters pasts and it doesn’t feel too rushed as some novellas can. The relationships had time to grow organically and they had to work for their HEA. I also liked learning about the supporting characters, and I am looking forward to reading Niko’s story next.

Scoring Chance is a Mile High Miners novella by Lane Martin. I have to admit I am not a big sports romance lover but this fast-paced enjoyable read had me wanting more. Rhett Crawford and Eden Snow both have a past that you will have you turning the pages and their instant connection was sizzling. Plus when a teammate tells you that someone is “forbidden fruit” you know that is just going to make you what that person a little bit more. Lane Martin’s writing was great just the right amount of details to get you hooked but not too many to draw things out. I have to know more about the other characters in this world; please let there be more books.

Scoring Chance: A Mile High Miners Novella by Lane Martin was a great and quick contemporary sports read that left me wishing for more! It is my first read by the writer so I went looking for what else she has written and whether there is a Mile High Miners series (as I am sure all of us who read this novella are asking ourselves)! Scoring Chance gives us Eden Snow and Rhett Crawford – Eden whose past is a mystery and keeps us guessing for a while, and Rhett who is a backup goalie for NHL Mile High Miners Hockey Team. I loved the opening to the story as it made me sit up and go…what is going on here???!!! The story also had great secondary characters who all deserve their own stories (hint, hint Ms Martin)! The writer has given us a story that takes us on a rollercoaster ride with slaying our fears and overcoming a childhood that no child deserves to live … I hope that this is not the last time the writer takes us to the Mile High Miners in Colorado and that she will give us more than ‘just’ novellas!

Eden has goals in mind, and those goals include working hard and doing everything possible to make her life a better one than she’s been dealt with. Having been through a lot as a kid, her world turned upside down she wants to pay it forward and do good in the world. She has a plan, but all that changes when she’s summoned to meet someone about a job. What she doesn’t expect as her world changes again are to meet Rhett.
Rhett lives and breathes hockey. The sport saved him when his world fell apart. He had the one person he could count on ripped from him and he had to learn how to live again. He was angry at the world and no longer understood things. He’s living his dream and nothing can stop him. What he doesn’t expect is to meet Eden and have everything changed all over again for him.
In the end, they have a lot of ups and downs. I loved their love story! it was sweet, chaotic, hot, and one of a kind. Its a love story about compassion and understanding and growing. A fabulous read that makes you swoon!

This was a fast paced, information packed book. I loved following Rhett and Eden. We get to see two people on opposite sides of the emotion spectrum, both crave love but one denies it and thinks they aren’t good enough and the other uses it express all feelings in one. Eden didnt have the best life and is given a fresh start as a surprise. Rhett gets an odd injury and needs to sleep at his captains house until he is better. Fireworks ezplode between these 2 and it was a ride to the end but so worth it. Cant wait for more in this series .

Scoring Chance is a Mile High Miners Novella by Lane Martin. It is the first book I have read by her as well as in the series, but I would read more. The book was very quick, short and to the point. However, it had enough details in it, that I really felt like I got to know the characters and it was a full story. There are several supporting characters that were developed, and at first it was hard to keep track. Some times the players were called by first name, some times last name and sometimes nick names. This made it hard to keep track at first, but it wasn’t too bad. I like that they mystery of Eden’s past was kept until toward the end of the book. We knew there was a questionable history, and a rough one, but not the details. That kept me engaged wanting to know more. Rhett is a hockey player recently signed onto the NHL as a goalie, but he isn’t on the official roster. The team is only allowed 2, and he is the backup. This means he attends all the games, but has to sit in the stands with the fans. Eden is living in the apartment above Rhett’s team captain’s house. She had no plans to entertain boys, focused on finishing school. Before they even met, Eden was put off limits and Rhett was warned to stay away from her. But he couldn’t plan for or prevent the instant attraction he and Eden had. Their chemistry was off the charts and made it very hard for them both to keep their promises. Will they listen to their hearts or their heads?

Scoring Chance by Lane Martin is a novella. In the Mile High Miners series. I really enjoyed this novella. Usually I have a hard time because in novellas the story is so short it can be difficult to connect with the character. It was not the case Scoring Chance. Martin gives you enough backstory for you to connect and keeps you interested in the story. The story revolves around Rhett Crawford and Eden Snow. Rhett is the teams new goalie and Eden snow is the teams captains live-in nanny. The moment Rhett sees Eden he has to get to know her. Eden and Rhett both come from troubled adolescent years. I don’t want to say too much more and give away too much of the story. This novella is definitely worth reading.

I seriously freaking love this book! I am such a huge nerd for sports jocks and the romances that can come from them so when I saw this gorgeous cover and the idea that it was a hockey alpha type read, i scooped it up without a single second thought. I am so glad that I did too!
In Scoring Chance we meet the Mile High Miners, a hockey team full of sexy and swoony men. This book focused on Rhett Crawford, one of the team’s goalies. Things become extra delectable when he meets Eden Snow, the teams captains live in nanny. This of course would seemingly make her seem completely off limits to Rhett, but temptation is a tricky little bugger. I loved how this book unfolded, and that it did so with a fast and smooth read. It is a novella type length so you would expect to set aside time to read this fab gem in one sitting if you are anything like myself. I couldn’t get enough of these two and I cannot wait until I get my hands on the next novel of the Mile High Miners!

Scoring Chance: A Mile High Miners Novella by Lane Martin is my first book and it will not be my last. Martin does an amazing job of making her characters pop off the page. They are down to earth and you can see yourself being with the characters in the book. Her plot line kept my interest throughout the whole book. This story is about Rhett and Eden. Rhett is trying to make his way into the NHL. When Eden came into the picture that was a distraction that Rhett was not wanting right now. There is something else about Eden. It drives Rhett crazy. You will have to read the story to find out what Rhett does about Eden.

Scoring Chance by Lane Martin is a novella in the Mile High Miners series. This is the first book in the series and is a brilliant way to draw you into it. I absolutely loved Rhett and Eden. They each had their flaws that made them the perfect compliment for each other. Although this book is a novella it is a full length story and it has all the details and the development of a longer book. Lane Martin isn’t an author I am familiar with however after reading this book I will definitely be reading the rest of the series and any other work by this author.

Scoring Chance: A Mile High Miners Novella by Lane Martin is an adorable short love story. Rhett Crawford, or Ford as his teammates call him, is a third string goalie on the Miners. Eden Snow becomes “employed” by the Miners team captain. A run in at the captain’s house leaves Rhett in awe of Eden, but the captain has warned Rhett that she is forbidden fruit. Eden has a damaged past that keeps her guarded and not capable of love, or so she thought.
This novella was a quick afternoon read. I loved the way that the author was able to portray the strong bond between the team mates and their significant others. It seemed like a tight knit family that only wanted the best for each other. The way that Rhett protected and wanted Eden was adorable, and I couldn’t help but root for them through the whole story. I really enjoyed Lane Martin’s work and look forward to future work.
