I give The Confectioner Chronicles: The Complete Fantasy Mystery Series by Claire Luana, 5 stars.
This series is centered around Wren, a teenage girl who has had a rough start to life. The only thing she is good at is baking. She is an apprentice at a bakery and it’s not the best life, but it’s better than she’s had. Then she gets the dream of her life — a chance to be in the Confectioner’s Guild. It is a dream come true. But the dream quickly turns bad. She is thrust into suspicion and plots beyond what she can believe. Things seem darker as the books continue, but Wren quickly learns to believe in herself and trust in her friends. Can they turn things around and make it better for all the people who live there? Or will the price be too large?
This series is incredible. It is unlike anything I have read before and the author weaves a world that feels so real, you quickly become part of it. This is a series for all ages, not just young adult. The characters are great! There are some you love and others you love to hate. Plus you really see them grow as the series moves on.
If you are a fan of magic, great worlds, and excellent characters, this series is for you and I highly recommend it.

September Breeze (Cinnamon Bay Romance Book 2) by Nikki Lynn Barrett – Review by Randall Murphy The setting is a quaint quirky little Bay-side town with all the adorable characters and close-knit environment that normally accompanies them. The plot is deep and had me laughing, smiling, and even misty-eyed at times. This story will draw you in and hold you captivated while it teaches some important life lessons. The characters will make you fall in love with them as well as the story. This story will make you want to know more about the town and the “magic love potion” that the old ladies brag about.

The Confectioner Chronicle by Claire Luana 5 stars!!!!!
I have to say that this series is a really great read. Whether you are sat on a beach or just relaxing at home this is a perfect read. I enjoyed this series a lot even though it wasn’t my go to genre. I really like how the author was able to weave just enough drama and intrigue into the story. Each book blends right with the one before it.
Book 1 The Confectioner’s Guild (The Confectioner Chronicles book 1) by Clarie Luana
What can I say but I absolutely have fallen for this series. The author has such a unique way of bringing the characters to life and I felt as though I was actually in the story. The refreshing way that you are drawn into the book and just feel as though you are escaping into the world that the author has developed. I just couldn’t put this book down.
I really felt drawn to Wren from the very start. The drama that unfolds around her brings you to the edge of your seat with anticipation. I liked how the author was able to not only throw in drama and intrigue but also weaved in just the touch of romance to boot. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Wren, Sable and Hale. Into the mix you have the chemistry between Wren and Lucas. The whole dynamic just adds to the intrigue in the book. I really cannot wait for the next book in this series. To get to delve more into the lives of the Confectioners and their world alongside the other guilds and see where the magic leads.
Book 2 The Confectioner’s Coup (Confectioner Chronicles Book 2) by Claire Luana
I am once again no let down. This is the second book in this series and the third book including the prequel to the series that I have read. The author really has such a great way of grabbing the reader and keeping you at the edge of your seat. I really found myself getting lost in this magical confectioner’s world she has created.
Book 3 The Confectioner’s Truth (Confectioner Chronicles Book 3) by Claire Luana
I couldn’t wait to get delved into this book and boy I wasn’t disappointed. This is the third book in the series and fourth one I have read by this author. The books just keep getting better and better. I was drawn in from the first page and couldn’t put the book down.
The author does such a wonderful job of keeping the drama going from book to book. There seems to be a smooth transition from the fist straight through to the third book in this series. To get to follow more the lives of Wren and her fellow confectioners as the head into the pending war kept me glued to the edge of my seat. The way that the drama unfolds keeps your attention. I wasn’t disappointed as I continued to read as the drama unfolded in this book. I really will be reading more from this author in the future and hopefully there will be more in this series.
I have to say that the more I read about Wren’s life the more I really find I am drawn to her character. She has gone through so much in her short time in the Guild and then to have to endure more. She is a very strong leading character and the author does such a great job of developing her character around the drama that unfolds. I really felt all the emotions vicariously as Wren went through them and in this book she has a roller coaster of them. She winds up losing so much and yet she still has Lucas. I really felt my heart in my throat as the book came to the ending and once again to have the book on a cliff hanger of sorts really has me anxious for the next book in the series. I will definitely be reading more from this author and the series.
The characters just seem to jump right out of the pages and into your imagination. I felt as though I was part of the action as it all unfolded. I really found the concept of the series to be quite unique and refreshing. The story is quite well written and easy to read. I definitely recommend this sereies and this author.

I just don’t know where to begin with this review. Laurie Lewis has sat within the top of my “favorite authors ever” list since the first book I read by her, and that has not changed and I don’t think ever will. Each book is different, there is no pattern to her storylines and when I open a book that she has written I make sure I can read it in its entirety because that is what normally happens.
Secrets Never Die had me all twisted up, it was a never ending roller coaster ride constantly having me speculating the next move and finally just giving up and enjoying the ride. Being completely hooked happened on like page 1 and it never let up from there. The storyline was so unique and so precise with no stones left unturned, I was left with no questions or confusion, just simply wanting more! I did not want this story to end. I wouldn’t be telling the truth if I said I never got confused while reading because there were so many dips and curves along the way but it just took sitting and lining everything up in my mind to keep me on track. I can not even try to sum up what happened in this book except to say that the characters were amazing. I loved some, I liked some, and I strongly disliked some and there were a few parts where they made me smile. Suspense with a good mystery is one of my favorite genres and Miss Lewis hit this one out of the park.
I would love more from this town and these characters, I would love to know how the trip to Idaho turned out, but for now I’m going to go ahead and allow this story to end in my mind the way I want it to 🙂
Highly recommend this and anything by this author. She is truly amazing and sets the bar high with every book and then meets it or beats it on the next.

This is a first time author for me. This seems to be the third in the series. I haven’t read the other and I had no problem following along with this one. The story was good and at first we seem to zing right along. I loved the whole looking for Cinderella part. Then something happened. I’m not sure if it was all the puns but the tone of the story seemed to change. It was all fun while he was looking for Cinderella but once he found her and they went out. It was too much. Who wants to hear about other women when you are with a guy? And what he has done with them? No thank you. After that hiccup it seems to straighten back out and take on a romantic tone.
The writing seemed fairly smooth. A few times I needed to go back and reread trying to figure out what the author meant. I did love the bro time that Dunk had with Aden. That was nice and bro talks are always enlightening. The characters had some fun and had depth to them. Overall this is a nice read.

Claire Luana is an absolute talent when it comes to creating a world that will have you gripped. She creates characters that are so vivid and captivating. Wren is exactly this type of character. She carries the whole of this story beautifully. She is strong and fiesty and you can’t help but fall in love with her. This is one of those series that should be on everyone’s must read list!

Discovery (The Orphan Train Saga Book 1) by Sherry A. Burton was was a pretty interesting read that kept me reading.
My first read by this author, I went in with an open mind, and just hit the grow running. I fall easy into this book, as it was well written, had a nice flow, and I liked the back and forth between past and present. I normally don’t read books like this, so it was a nice step out of my normal comfort zone. The were many different elements, that all came to gather for an original intriguing read. I like the MC’s voice, and the stories about her grandmother. It was a nice step back in time, and I fully enjoyed this read.
Overall this book is fit for all ages and it will take you back to a crazy time in this woman life. It’s a good way to see just how much we don’t know about or loved ones, like grandmothers. They are the closes strangers you’ll ever love. To end this book gets my super high recommendation and my stamp go approval.

The story Not So Wrong (Love Grows Book 2) by Renee Regent is a contemporary/new adult romance book and it’s the second book that I have read by this author. The characters are well written and amazing and the things that they had to deal with in this story made them feel real. The plot was awesome. What happens when a billionaire who can’t face his past and an independent woman who has given up on her future meet? They have nothing in common except music so what can they offer each other? Will the perfect song give them a future, or tear them apart? Melanie after years of trying to make it as a singer, it’s time to stop chasing a dream that won’t come true. Her family needs her, and soon she’ll be leaving Atlanta for good. But Spencer Colebank is tempting her to stay, with hope the song they wrote together will win us a record deal. Spencer thinks Melanie Parker, sings like an angel gone bad, has taken his heart. Shameless by Sherry A. Burton a four-star read that will take you back. This is the second story in the Orphan Train Saga and the story and characters may be fictional they history behind it is real, it was something I had never heard of before starting this series but the more I look into it, the more it surprises me with its depth of history. I would definitely recommend you read the saga in order as the story does progress through. We get to hear more about Tobias in this story, from his hard start, to even harder journey. It will break your heart reading about his struggles. But the author does a great job of sucking it in and giving you a positive side as well, even in all the darkness.

A great read about rebellion. Milenda and Jaali have lived in peace in Isvarld for a few years now. But nothing is ever constant and soon they are called back to Afrika. They return into murky waters in order to save both the Natalans and the Fjordens who have been enslaved for years. Can they survive long enough to see long term peace in their lives and their nation? A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn’t put down. Well developed characters like Milenda courageous but caring underneath or Jaali stubborn but anxious underneath. Great cast of supporting characters like the sweet Johari or the Mama Nyeusi as the voice of reason and humour or the sarcastic gods later on. I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like with the jungle with its ferns and fronds and river full of sights and sounds so vivid it’s as if you’re actually there. Or the marketplace full of life and people and colourful fruits and cloths beautifully written. Or the scenes in the shrine with the little love seat and the flowers a small spot of paradise wonderfully written. The switch of perspectives worked well to display both sides of events and was easy to follow with names in the sections. Fast paced action and high stakes made for a captivating read. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.

If you find yourself even slightly interested in Claire Luana’s Confectioner Chronicles, I recommend doing yourself a favor and purchasing the box set. Each installment of this series is fast paced and exciting with fun characters and fantastic imagery. I would be surprised if you didn’t want to dive into the second book immediately after finishing the first. That being said, this isn’t a stand alone series, I would recommend reading each book in sequential order to get the most of the storyline. I’ve read books by Claire Luana in the past so her name itself drew me to the Confectioner Chronicles but the unique plot and rich storyline is what kept me coming back. If you’re looking for a fun, magical adventure, I would definitely recommend this box set.

I cannot get over how this author weaves history into these tales and brings it so vividly to life. The setting itself becomes a character in the book and adds such a depth to the tale being told. All in all I found the book to be well written, the plot well paced, the characters rich and complex. I was pleased to have historical facts interspersed. I just truly loved every page and look forward to reading more from Bennett Pennell.
Spellbinding! Reis does a masterful job navigating this fantasy and following the main characters to the story’s conclusion. I found the detail enthralling and literally couldn’t put the book down. Hands down just a masterfully crafted fantasy that you will absolutely love!

This sassy and fun romp was everything I was hoping for and was the perfect follow up to the first in the series. Although written in a way to stand on its own, you best appreciate the characters if read in series order. From the summary you anticipate hot steamy passion to develop. However there is an underlying dramatic element that plays well with the plot. I loved every minute and am thankful to have found O’Dey. What a gifted author!

Into Pieces (Shattered Hearts Series Book 2) By Nicole Banks. Just as shattering at book one, I was completely hooked from page one again. I highly recommend reading these in order. Once again this author writes on a subject most can’t even think about. And did a great job of it, the strength the author gives the characters blows me away. Jasmine is one of my favorite female characters this year, she come back to herself from the unthinkable. And we could all use a little Angel in our life. These two had me captured in their world. I love the multi POV it makes the story fuller. I’m so excited to read the next one. Well written and paced nicely, with incredible characters. Five stars all the way!

Discovery, the first book in the Orphan Train Saga, was amazing and I cannot wait to read the next book! I am officially hooked. Sherry Burton’s writing was amazing, and I didnt know Orphan Trains was a real thing until the very end of the book. I googled it and am now very curious to learn more. The story was so well written, I wouldnt be surprised to learn that its based on real people’s lives. The way the diaries were discovered was exciting, and the content was heartbreaking. Cindy enherited the storage unit that held all of her grandmother’s belongings, after her mother was tired of paying on them for years. Cindy also paid for years, before finally deciding it time to go through them. She had most of it set out to sell, to make some money and recoup the storage fees, but the one item she decides to take home, opens a whole lot of secrets and mystery. It was a treasure hunt of sorts, leading her to some journals with very emotional stories. I don’t want to give anything away, but highly recommend this book!

Tangles by Sharleen Scott was such a deep read. I would give this book a four out of five stars. I felt the pull of the story right at the beginning. The way that the story is written just grabs you and takes you on a wild ride. I felt my heart ache for Logan as he goes on this mission of understanding his history. There was a book I recently read that made me want to spend more time with my family and ask more questions and this book just solidified that feeling for me all over again.

I didn’t quite know what I was getting into when I picked up A Divided Mind. I had been expecting a suspenseful thriller but this is a whole different genre. That being said, the story really delivered. This was a gripping story about family and mental illness unlike anything I’ve ever read before. A Divided Mind had me feeling the words and imagining what the characters were experiencing. The story is really well written. I have not read anything by M. Billiter in the past but I would be curious to do so in the future.

I’m not sure exactly where to begin with this one. There is just so much to this story! I fell in love with these people in book 1 and that carried on into book 2, only much, much deeper! My emotions were all over the place. Love, hate, anger, frustration, betrayal, shock…I’m fairly certain that at several points while reading this book my heart ACTUALLY STOPPED! It felt like it was being ripped right out of my chest! This author gives you absolutely everything.
The chemistry between the characters is off the charts. Angel and Jasmine. Kate and Chase. You find yourself rooting for them, cheering them on, feeling their emotions as intimately as if they were your own. We finally find out the answers to many of the questions that were hanging from book one, but be prepared! You may not want to know them all! Some of these truths will hurt…and quite frankly make you want to punch the author in the face at times! LOL!
I don’t want to say too much about the story and give anything away. If you love well developed characters, romance, and suspense that keeps you on the edge of your seat, then start reading! Just make sure you read book one, Shattered, first. Nicole Banks has quickly become a go to author for me and I will most definitely be reading anything she puts out! I can’t wait to start book 3 of this series and see where this journey is going to take me next!

This book took me on a ride from one end of the emotional roller coaster to the other while keeping me on the edge of my seat. I highly recommend this book! Daisy and Dunk (love this nickname) are the type of couple you never knew would be perfect for each other. Their bantering had me laughing and has a hint of sexiness to it sometimes.
I can’t wait to see if there will be more books about the other characters in this small town. I will have to check out any other books written by this author.

Truck Stopped is the eleventh book in Manda Mellett’s original Satan’s Devils MC series and finally, finally the writer is giving us Truck’s story!!! YEY! If you are like me who has read the Satan’s Devils MC series and the Colorado Chapter spin-off series then you know how long we have been waiting for Truck’s story! From the bits and pieces we have heard over the books leading up to this one, I knew that it would be a totally heartbreaking read! I loved how the writer had set the whole story up – Truck and Allie’s story and then Drummer and Peg’s conversations in the future looking back at Truck and Allie’s story – absolutely brilliant! I was bawling my eyes out and I could not put the book down! The brotherhood, the loyalty, the care, the humanity … the writer has weaved it all together into a story that will not let you go and IF this is your first book in Satan’s Devils MC universe then you will want to reach for the other ones and I hope you do as you will not regret it, not one bit! I am so grateful that the writer started with the spin off series as this is the final book in the main series and I would not want to leave the brothers and just maybe we will get the new generation series at some point as well … here is to hoping!

Truck Stopped by Manda Mellett is the eleventh book in the Satan’s Devils series. This whole series is an excellent series. I really liked all of the characters in all the books but I really fell in love with Truck. He is a bit rough around the edges but when you get down past that he is one that will never fail you. His life has not been easy and he has hit rock bottom but he does pull himself up. That is one thing that I love about Manda Mellett writing her characters are fully developed and they could be real. There is a roller coaster ride when you add in Allie. She is one to have been with many of the Satan Devil Arizona chapter. She is intrigued by Truck and really warms up to him. She wants more but will Truck want more? I cannot wait to see what Manda Mellett has instore for us with her next series.

I have read a few books from this author and she keeps on surprising me. I absolutely love her writing style. She makes you feel like you are in the book with these characters. This is the second book in the shattered heart series. You do have to read the first book or you will be lost. I was so excited when I got this book I dropped everything and started to read it immediately. It only took me a few hours to devour this incredible book.
Jasmine and Angle are so happy that they found each other again. They are giving this relationship a huge try. Jasmine is still fighting her demons from that horrible night long ago. When she starts getting crazy texts she knows something is up. She goes to one of her friends for help but she doesn’t know that he is helping her demon. Jasmine thinks she can handle this herself but she doesn’t realize how close her past is to her. She goes to Angle but he also has past demons he is trying to get through. Will Jasmine and Angle be able to stop their demons or will it be too late?
I absolutely loved this book. The storyline has it all romance, suspense, and some mystery. You can’t help but to fall in love with these characters once again. Jasmine is a very tough woman but she wants to be loved. Angle is willing to do whatever it takes to see Jasmine happy. These characters have some steamy scenes that will make your temperature rise. This talented author will keep you at the edge of your seat until the end. There is also a couple of scenes that may trigger some readers. This book is for a mature audience. I can’t wait to see what will happen next.

Truck Stopped is book eleven in Satan Devils series written by Manda Mellett and it’s the second book in this series that I have read. I was a little lost since I haven’t read many books in this series so I wasn’t familiar with the flash backs. This was a well written story with great main characters that are damaged both physically and emotionally.
This is Truck and Allie’s story and it’s not a pretty story. They show us their strength in what they have endured, they also show us their passion for each other. This is a very emotional read that will make you laugh and cry I needed a box of tissues.
Truck is damaged emotionally and scarred physically so will he let Allie in to help him? Can Allie show Truck that he can still have a normal life? Can she show him that she wants him for himself that their chemistry is real? Will this damaged couple be-able to have a happily ever after? You will have to read this story to find out…

But what will this mean? Can’t he just be normal again? Meanwhile his mother has to come to terms with this. Her little boy is not perfect. What exactly is wrong with him? What will it all mean? What can she do to make it better? She’s his mother, she can fix it. Right?
This was an interesting book. It read to me more like a book of discovery and coping with mental illness than a thriller book in my personal opinion. Written as different viewpoints, it’s interesting to see how each person sees what is going on and how they deal with it. It is a very interesting book and I liked the progression of not only Branson, but of the whole family. This would be a great introduction to a new series, too.

When Spencer Colebank meets Melanie Parker at a party sparks fly and the billionaire is hooked. In book 2 of the Love Grows series, Not So Wrong, by author Renee Regent these two special characters are hiding behind masks and are afraid what would happen if others knew their real selves. Melanie is a singer who may have to give up her dream and Spencer is hiding his dreams in order to make his family happy. This was an interesting story and I truly felt for the characters. Both were hiding and you had to root for them to achieve their dreams, no matter what. I look forward to seeing what is going to happen next in this series.

Not So Wrong is the second book in the Love Grows series by Renee Regent. This contemporary romance is a great story with a wonderful emotive quality to the storyline. I really enjoyed the first book in the series, so I was excited to dive into this second book. I wasn’t sure I would like it as much as the first book, but I needn’t have worried- as Ms. Regent exceeded all my expectations and I ended up loving it just as much as Book one, if not a little more. Melanie and Spencer make beautiful music together- and they were so easy to like and emotionally invest in. Spencer is Gibson Colebank’s brother- from Not So Broken- Book #1. He’s also a billionaire with baggage and secrets. She’s struggling to ‘make it’ on the music scene and is about to give up on her dreams. What happens when they unite and write music together? A sweet, sexy, and romantic story that’s definitely worth your time and money- so grab yourself a copy and discover all the intriguing details for yourself! A wonderful addition to the series and I can’t wait to read Ms. Regent’s next book!
