This is such a heart warming and captivating book that really piqued my daughters interest. The pictures throughout the book were so well done that she engaged with them easily. The book tells a great story, both educating and entertaining its intended audience. It isn’t often you get an author that successfully does both but this author has achieved it. This is a book I also enjoyed, mainly because it was nice to see my daughter getting joy from. We will definitely be exploring more of this authors work.

I love a funny romantic comedy with some absolutely astounding puns thrown in, Tropical Date (Postscript Island Book 3) by R.S. Jonesee is that. I mean one of the main characters owns and operates a latex factory so you are talking comedy gold. This is a standalone romantic comedy with a really really slow burn second chance romance and a little mystery thrown in. I admit this is the first book I’ve read by this author, but this book has such humorous dialog and an interesting bonus to the storyline that I definitely want to check out more books by them.
We meet two highschool sweethearts, Weston and Marissa, several years after a tumultuous break. Marissa sill resides in Postscript Island and is about to embark on her dream of opening her own art gallery. She is dating a nice cafe owner and getting her life back on track, when Weston returns. Weston never thought he would return to Postscript, but when his mom needs his help he can’t turn his back. It’s there he sees Marissa again and though they have a strained past the sparks are still alive between them. As they try to figure out what’s going on in Postscript, new obstacles and old feelings arise. Do second chances exist or are things better left in the past?

“Moby has a problem” is how we are introduced to this sweet story. Moby is a young girl who feels like everyone and everything is against her. She sits at the back of the classroom until her dad encourages her to move to the front. She does and is ridiculed for an incorrect answer. Oh how she misses the back row! Moby then learns that her daddy is being called away for a long period of time with the Marines. He leaves her birthday gift with her. She sees a beautiful flute but when she tries to play it, it won’t work. She throws it over in a pile of other “rejected” toys. She’s missing her daddy but nothing seems to work out in her favor! It’s getting closer to another birthday and her dad is still away. He’s not sending a gift this year. She talks to him about the “broken flute” and he tells her not to give up. What happens next is a huge lesson for everyone involved.
This book focuses on persistence and patience. It’s a great book for youngsters of all ages, young and old alike!! It’s a great book to show that being persistent and having confidence can change your outlook on everything!

Wow! I loved this book! Euphoric Wonderland by Ryan M. Becker is an inspired work of art! The pop culture references like The Beatles, Alice in Wonderland, Superheroes, and Pink Floyd really make this work relatable and memorable. From cover to cover the artwork and color palette is beautiful and trippy, very well thought out! These truly musical poems let you feel the rhythm and sound of each stanza. The title couldn’t have been more perfect! Becker writes with such humor and whimsy that even the title of each poem was endlessly entertaining. “Spelling Check You Break My Neck”. I laughed out loud! Some poems even left me breathless! It made me discover the weird and the bizarre in the best way! As a writer this book really inspired me to just write outside of the box without caring about “perfection”. I know this book will stick with me for a while. Thank you Ryan for writing something extremely fun, motivational, refreshing, and deep! Please Please give this book a try! You might be surprised by what you find in yourself!

5 Stars Into the Light (Moon Harbor Series Book 3) by Kate McWilliams
Into the Light is a Suspenseful Romance/ forbidden love/ best friends little sister story that is fast paced but man is it packed with drama, action, suspense and a few twists and turns that will have you turning the pages trying to figure out what is going to happen next. I’ve read other books by this author and I must say this is my favorite yet. I love this authors style of writing and attention to detail and just enough edginess to keep you coming back for more. This is Rafael and Ellie’s story. He thinks he’s cursed because of something that happened in the past and Ellie is not exactly the delicate flower the towns people claim her to be. She is also Raf’s best friends little sister who has had a crush on him since she was a teen. These two definitely have chemistry and holy cow the attraction is off the charts. What will happen when the past shows up?Can these two get a happy ending? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. If you haven’t already started this series I would recommend reading them as they are just as good as this one . I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.

I read the Mind Reading Hat to my 6 year old. He really enjoyed it, but was thrown off by UNbirthday. After we discussed it, he loved the idea and asked if he could have an UNbirthday too. Needless to say, I have a week to plan a party now lol. The story is fun and I love that it was non traditional. It included grandpa and neighbor as the important people in the child’s life. The gifts were creative and the art work was great. The book is very eye catching and colorful. It was a fun story and I would read others by the author.

I read Oliver to my 6 year old. Before we started, I asked if he knew what adoption is or what it means to be adopted. He said no, not really. We have “adopted” a cat, and he has a friend who is adopted, but it’s not something they talk about… I think the book did a good job of explaining WHY a kid might be put up for adoption, and a gentle way of explaining it for kids. It also addresses the wonder and curiosity that is normal for a kid to have regarding their birth parents. It did a good job of explaining adoption in a kind, loving and gentle way for young readers. We do wish the pictures were colored, rather than just drawings. My son liked seeing the imagined parents in lots of different scenes and professions. I think this is a good book for elementary school aged kids to learn about adoption in a judgement free way.

Grave Digger Academy 1 was a good book, that quickly drew me in, and I look forward to book 2. It is a short book, that I was able to read in a day or 2, as I didn’t want to put it down. The characters are well written and each have their own personality, which comes through very well. I am not typically big on paranormal books, but the cover art drew me in. The author does a good job of laying the ground work, and providing the details for us to envision this world. We follow Makayla, in her first year of the paranormal academy, which seems similar to college. She applied to 3, and was denied from all but this school- which is the taboo school no one wants to go to, as it seems to be the last resort for the rejects. I was a little confused why there are grave diggers and Grave Diggers, and why they aren’t given different names…. but I hope that will become more clear later in the series. Makayla has a bit of mystery to her, and we slowly learn that she is more important than she seems at first- Made me think of Harry Potter, in the importance and history. I recommend this book and am dedicated to the series now- keep them coming!

This is book 2.5 of the Vigilant Series. I have loved this series from the first book and I strongly recommend reading them from the beginning so that you get the full story and a full picture of all the characters.
This is the story of events of what happened from the view of Rhi. Rhi is the younger sister of Emvee and Dexter and while she is mentioned in the other books it’s in this book that we really get to know her and her story. Rhi is small and people are always thinking she is weak however she is such a strong and determined character. Even though she gets annoyed at everyone assumption it also works in her favour when she starts to investigate the strange goings on at the school. However what she doesn’t realise until its too late is that the secrets she plans on uncovering puts herself and her whole family in danger.
This story is full of Suspense, secrets and lies, paranormal happenings and mysteries to be solved. Will Rhi be able to solve it and protect her family or will something happen that will change the course of all their lives.

This children’s book is beautifully written. The brilliant illustrations really pop and exudes the author’s descriptions perfectly.
The main character, Moby is a darling young lady dealing with the struggles of being less than stellar in school and in most things she attempts to complete. We can all sympathize with the situation at some point in our lives. The overall message plays out well and I think children will enjoy reading it while also learning a lesson or two.
Any military family knows the struggle they go through when a parent is deployed. The author did a fabulous job describing this in a kid friendly way as well.
Overall, I believe this beautiful story is a great option for children that the adults will appreciate.

This was a magnificent kid’s book! I say kid’s book, but really, I mean this is just a wonderful book. The lessons that are taught are invaluable to everyone!
Moby doesn’t like saying goodbye to her father, but he is a U.S. Marine and his duty calls. He gives her an early birthday present before he leaves, and she is delighted to learn that it is a bamboo flute! Between school and this flute, she is going to learn a few lessons that will help her the rest of her life.
This is a short but awe-inspiring read. Pick this up for yourself as a cute story or share with the children in your life. My 6- and 10-year-old absolutely loved it!

This book is incredible. I love the action, the suspense, and the family drama. Toss in the wolves, drageur and a few other goodies and the fun just doesn’t stop. The characters are well-written. I loved how it felt like it just picked up from the previous novel. The deception scattered throughout to the suspense just makes this such an entertaining fantasy novel. You can find almost anything you want in this story as you follow the elves on their journey. That ending! Loved it! Looking forward to the third book in the series.

First word that comes to mind? Odd. This book was very unusual. It took me a couple minutes to really catch on. But once I somewhat figured it out, I really liked it. If I could ask one thing of Maria, it would be to give a tad more detail in the beginning so that we can be on the same wave length as her from the start. Overall, it was good. Short little story. Even with the small amount of detail we are provided. I felt I could still understand the main character’s emotions.

I love sci fi/fantasy/paranormal. Ravena is pretty badass. She’s been in the Space Force a long time. She’s had to put up attitude and having to prove herself. She’s done a lot and is now trying to get Dravos, a space vampire (I love this, a first for me). He’s stuck as an experiment in the lab. Not really a new twist, but one you don’t see much, she’s the heroine, out to rescue. She’s strong, hard and has the courage. Dravos is soft, weak (not quite the word but closest I can do), and in need of a good woman to rescue him to keep him in check. He can’t let his vampire side come out or they will kill him. He’ll bring out her softer side and she’ll bring out his harder side. It’s a really fun story. Well-written with lot’s of action and drama. The characters help pull it all together. The flow is just right. I’m very excited this is the beginning of a series. I can’t wait for the next one to come out.

Again Emma and her friends are at it again , find a killer , solve a murder and still enjoy Christmas . There was a “ Christmas Carol” vibe to it and it added to the wonder of our Emma and her mystery solving friends ….
This is one I’ll read again closer to Christmas while nibbling on a mince pie and sipping eggnog ❣️📕
As the series progresses so do the crimes and this time Emma’s path Color’s sea with those of some rather mean bank robbers so after their ordeal Emma decides a time of rest is in order but soon enough the bug is biting her and she’s hungry for adventure and the case she takes on has her so busy that Jeremy jumps in and helps , both now have their hands full and all is not as it seems ….
This instalment felt a little different to the others , like the pace was a little faster and the read was a little more intense , does that make sense ?
I’ve really enjoyed each book but this one really has captured my attention and a wee Tim favourite this far ❣️📕

Grave Digger Academy is a wonderfully written YA/Paranormal Fantasy that I truly enjoyed reading. I was pulled in from the beginning and found myself turning the pages trying to figure out what was going to happen next. I’ve read other books by this author and her style of writing and attention to detail along with amazing characters make for a epic story. Makayla is fairly new to the academy system and has been denied to three she’s left with Grave Digger Academy. She’s not thrilled about it and is but trying to figure out how to dig herself out of it. She’s about to discover how temperamental corpses can be especially when they don’t want to cooperate. I highly recommend reading this fast-paced action packed story to find out what happens next. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

Be careful what you wish for!! Something we have been told again and again, but poor Bax had to learn the hard way! This novel is Modern And Dark, and I Loved It! It is a great YA novel for those who like their stories a little dark and gritty. It was definitely a unique and modern spin on an ancient evil. This book had an Aladdin feel to it in a todays world setting. It was 100% a page turner!

First off, this book is a collection of multiple short stories and it is a massive book! We’re talking Stephen king sized massive, Lord of the Rings massive! The stories cover many different aspects of possible apocalyptic world. Zombies, virus outbreaks, solar flares, EMPs and even mosquitoes! Some stories are complete stand alone and some are prequels or sequels with characters we are familiar with from previous stories. It’s a great collection and definitely not what I was expecting! I’ve read other books in this series, and they are all wonderful! Having finally read the first of the series, I am still firmly a fan of this author. I enjoyed the setting of the story- Chicago in the post Civil War era. Characters struggle to right wrongs amidst Chicago’s infamous corruption. Our protagonist also learns that she must trust people, and not always rush to judgment.

Moby Plays the Flute by Eeha Bhatt is such a cute and sweet children’s story with the most delightful illustrations which give the story a bit of a whimsical feel. The story is well written with a thoughtful story that was so easy to read. It is full of heartwarming moments, as well as lessons teaching about patience, hard work, believing in yourself…. and so much more (see the list below).

Into the Light is the third book in the Moon Harbor Series by Kate McWilliams. I have come into this series a little backwards because I grabbed a copy of this without realising it’s Book Three in the series…. But luckily, it can be read as a standalone, and didn’t make me feel like I was missing anything by not having read the previous books first. Having said that though, I really enjoyed the story, and I would love to know more about the other characters, so I will be going back to read the previous two books before continuing with the series. This is an emotional and steamy romantic suspense. A forbidden romance with a ‘brother’s best friend/best friend’s little sister’ element, sweet and tender moments, intrigue, dramatic developments, a swoon-worthy leading man, dirty talk, a little mysteriousness, and more. Raf and Ellie were so easy to like, and I soon found myself completely invested in them and the outcome of their story. I like the suspense/mystery element, it was really well done and cleverly choreographed by Ms. McWilliams. She definitely kept me completely engrossed the whole way through. Although the last part of the book did feel somewhat rushed, but thankfully that didn’t detract too much from my overall enjoyment of the book. I am looking forward to exploring the rest of the series. Happy Reading!

Oh this series has been amazing! We are with Freyja and Cam and all of the others. You learn so much about Freyja and the children in this one. When tragedy strikes and decisions have to be made to protect the children that are unique. There are plot twist that will shock you and make you read late into the night! I will say I grew to really enjoy Freyja as a character and watching all of her growth through the whole series. I love the authors idea for this story and their writing style. You feel like someone is sharing a good story with you that you can’t wait to hear the ending but dread it at the same time! I definitely recommend reading the whole series so you can understand the storyline. Such a great ending to the Antipodes series!
