Historical Romance is fast becoming one of my favorite genre’s. And this exceptional listen definitely contributed to it. Physically and emotionally scared Bea decides to go to Texas to pave her own path away from the New York social scene. There she meets this strapping (always wanted to use that word) gentleman, who unbeknownst to her also fled the New York society. Together the heal each other’s scars. What more could you ask from a love story!!! What made this such a great book was the amazing character development and the authors extraordinary writing style.

I really enjoyed this book! Reminds me of what I read back in high school. It’s not a book I’d typically pick up nowadays, but I’m glad I gave this one a shot! A genie and a wish? Count me in right? Should know there’s got to be a catch to everything lol. And you never really know how good you have it in life until things change. Love the characters, the plot, all of it! Love the writing and it kept me interested since the first chapter! So interested that I finished the book in one sitting. I couldn’t put it down. Highly recommend
To start, the Dedication is very sweet. The author found a way to not leave anybody out on accident. Haha! The author is extremely talented when it comes to world building and making you see what they see. The story is very reminiscent of a certain famous magical world mixed with the TV version of The Magicians (but not near as gritty), but still something all its own and creative. Makayla is spirited and spunky, which always makes for a fun protagonist to follow. I can’t wait to start the next novel in the series!

Super quick read and fast paced! I really enjoyed this read and it was a real page turner. First book by Brooke and I wasn’t disappointed. You have the cocky cowboy and the determined cowgirl. One thing they for sure have in common, is rodeo! Tori and Cord are seriously so perfect for each other! And tori is such a badass. Rodeo riding isn’t just for men and she’s damn certain to make that clear! After reading this, I have to read more of Brooke’s books! I love her writing!

Burn was different and interesting. This was one of the first elemental books I’ve read. It seemed interesting and appealing so I took the leap. I’ll be honest I didn’t love it but I didn’t hate it either. It’s part of the sci-fi/fantasy genre that I would give another chance. I would definitely give this author another chance, because despite what I feel/don’t feel for this book the author has a lot of promise. An author that I would definitely read again if presented the opportunity. It took time for me to get into this book but once I was there. I enjoyed the substance of the story that was written. Levi, our main character, I feel like despite everything going on was on a path to self discovery. At least that’s how I interpreted it. Losing control of his powers(elemental fire.) While also experiencing unexpected attraction to a human woman. Attraction he’s never felt before. Which doesn’t help when he keeps ending up in her path. Eventually protecting her from the unknown to her(Chaolt.) Brooke swore she was living an ordinary life. Finally landing her dream job and living freely in Nevada. Till it all literally blows up in her face. Caught in a fire a mysteriously attractive man saves her, who somehow controls the fire, or is she crazy? The dynamic and tension between both these characters is well written, and it’s what kept me latched on to the story itself. Being from different worlds and trying to understand each as their own. Trying to navigate feelings that shouldn’t be had. Trying to survive the Chaolts and try to understand what they want. It all keeps one intrigued, but to get that you need to push through. That is if you struggle like I did at the beginning. Lots and Lots of promise for this author and I look forward to reading more books in the future.

This is the first book in the series and a fun, flirty romance filled with secrets. It’s nice the romance plot isn’t over mushy. What seems like an unlikely romance becomes an alliance and love is tested. I like how the author keeps the music world in all of the settings. This helps keep the reader immersed in the story. If you like paparazzi, rocker lifestyle, and romance thrown in the mix, this is the book for you. Rock on!

WE Blend is the first book in the Falling For the Rockstar’s Daughter series by Willa Drew. It is a fun contemporary romance with secrets, drama, chemistry, and finding love unexpectedly- all set around the music scene. Willa Drew is a new to me author and upon further investigation I discovered that this is the pen name of two talented authors who collaborated to bring us this flirty and fun read. I am glad I stumbled on this book and these authors, and I will definitely be adding them to my list of authors to keep my eye out for. I won’t go into the story here, as I really don’t want to spoil it for you. I think it is worth going into a bit ‘blind’ and let the authors, characters, and story surprise you- in a great way. I loved the whole secret identity element, as well as the music ‘scene’ aspect to the story- it gave the book its own unique identity and feel. The characters, Wil and El (WE) were well developed and likeable- I was easily invested in them and the outcome of their story. This book ends on a cliffhanger, so everything is set to continue in Book #2…. Bring it on! Happy Reading.

El is trying to find her own way into the music business, even though many would believe she has an “in” because her step father is a famous musician. But El wants to make it on her own. Wil has travelled from Germany to make a film with a group of others. He finds himself in need of a job in addition to the film making. It’s a experience of a lifetime and Wil is not going to let anything stop him. I really enjoyed reading this book and I can’t wait for the next book in the series. The authors did a wonderful job of writing the characters in a way that I felt connected to them right away. Reminded me of how life was when I ventured out on my own after moving away from home.

If you’re looking for a great page turning sci-fi book, this is definitely the one! I truly enjoyed that there was romance in this story (it’s not always included in fantasy or science fiction) and I was impressed with the friendships were well developed for a sci-fi book. For the setting to take place about 2500 years in the future, it is a well written, well thought out book. I definitely want to see what happens next. I seriously can’t wait for book 2!

I love stories of forbidden love. It gives that feeling like anything is possible regardless of what anyone else says. Raven is the little enchantress who doesn’t believe in division, and Master Romano is one who is about truth and honor. Together, they do an amazing job at dealing with the chaos around them every turn. Absolutely beautiful characters and story. I am grateful that I got to read this.

This was such an amazing story; I loved reading it so much! Melodie/El and Wil had such great chemistry and dialogue and pacing was perfect. This book had so much emotion and feelings enveloped within it. It was fantastic to see how the characters were able to grow and develop throughout the story. I also loved the relationship between Melodie and Sven, her bodyguard, I definitely feel like Sven has more of a tale to be shared and so I am hoping we might get to learn even more about him in the following book. I loved all of the relationships that Wil created and was able to introduce El into and be a part of. We get to see as the Rockstar’s daughter, she isn’t really able to make friends and it was so sweet seeing her get to be a part of something special with everyone and feeling like she belonged. This was a fantastic story and I can’t wait to see more of them in the following book!

Rock and Becca are my new favorite couple. This book definitely has its ups and downs but never disappoints. I have yet to read/listen to anything from this author that I haven’t absolutely love. Her talent for storytelling is out of this world. This book was narrated by Sierra Kline and Logan McAllister as are the first 6 books in this series. They are awesome together. They really bring the characters to life. This is one of my top five listens for this year. Review by @sunbarn

It’s simple. Gravediggers dig the graves while Grave Diggers keep the bodies buried.
No one wants to end up at Grave Digger Academy. So when MaKayla’s other choices in the paranormal academy system refuse her entry, the only thing on her mind is finding a way out. Of course, it’s not going to be that easy.
This was a fun, quick read about a young witch who just wants to find a way to fit in to the paranormal world. MaKayla is the only daughter in a family of bright sons and is trying to prove her worth when it seems her powers aren’t ready to shine.
Grave Digger Academy is her first year and with all the normal teenager drama comes a little more than they all bargained for. I loved this book and I’m so excited to get started on book 2 and see what happens in MaKayla’s next year! I think my only complaint is the timeline seems to run a bit fast.

This book was a fun interpretation of the world of witches. I enjoyed meeting the main characters and following them as they learned about themselves and where they fit in the madcap world they are a part of. The main character, Makayla, is funny and interesting. It was a joy to travel with her on this journey to discovering her magic and how she fits into the magical world. I have read other books from this author and was not disappointed with this book. I look forward to reading more from this author.

While young adult fantasy books are not my typical “go-to”, I do enjoy them from time to time (diehard HP fan here🤗). I chose this book based on the quick synopsis I read and was NOT disappointed! It quickly sucked me in and had me staying up well past my bedtime trying to get further and further into it. Quick backstory: there are 4 paranormal academies and Grave Digger Academy is staged as the last resort if the other 3 deny you. Makayla, the youngest of 7, is sent here. While she’s focused on ways to be able to transfer out upon the end of her first year, she learns why is she there and so much more about herself. As you read the book, you begin to bond with Makayla as you are engulfed in finding out what new secrets she will discover about herself and her classmates. Definitely do NOT pass this one up! I’m off to start on the second book of the series and cannot wait!!

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. The author sure knows how to get your attention. Grave Digger Academy is an amazing read. I can’t wait for the next book.
Makayla is the seventh born in her family. She gets sent to the Grave Digger Academy. There she learns that she is related to a necromancer. The quote I chose for Makayla is: “No! Until the shadow figure left. I know you don’t believe me, but it’s real. I’ve seen it more than once and in multiple locations.”

I love all things Supernatural, so this book got my attention. It promised fire and chaos, and it delivered. There wasn’t a dull moment. A lot of times when you start reading a book, it tends to start off rather slow. It usually dives into the background story or characters and drags a little bit. That wasn’t the case with this book. It grabbed me from the very first page and I was hooked.

Master Romano is a member of the Vampire Consulate and has been for centuries, he is cool headed and calm and a well respected member, however with recent events he has been sent in a mission to try and stop the ongoing feud between the vampires and the witches. Raven is a young witch in training, but she has always felt trapped between two worlds and not having many powers, she feels like she is wasting her time learning all this witchcraft and is just waiting for her time there to be finished so she can go back to her life.
As Master Romano is heading back to his home in Romania, he checks the security footage and sees someone creeping round his garden, the don’t move, just watch, so before the sun comes up, he goes to investigate. Raven has an itch to see what a vampire is like, are they as bad as the other witches say they are? She is insatiably curious and so decides to go and stake out the proverbial vampire next door, however, when he catches her in the act, she runs away.
As time passes, neither Raven or Master Romano can keep their minds off of the other and seem to find reasons to run into each other, but as the tensions between the witches and vampires escalate, Raven lands right in the middle of it and ends up having to trust Master Romano to help her, but when she is suspected as a spy, will Master Romano be able to take her life, or will the undeniably strong feelings between this witch and this vampire hold true?
This is a paranormal romance with a streak of forbidden love and steamy scenes of an adult nature with a good dollop of action in between, it is a fantastic continuation and one which you will not want to put down.
