This is an author that I have enjoyed reading and listening to from the first book. I enjoy how the narrator uses different tones of voice to change characters. I also enjoyed how they made the book come to life. I found this to be an engaging story that is shorter but packs a punch. A story where two people have great chemistry but life gets in the way. Will these two figure out things and be able to have a life together? Katie and Chase’s chemistry and growth is off the charts and you don’t want to miss their story. I really enjoyed listening to this story and I highly recommend it.

Everybody needs a second Chance, even Katie and Chase. This is their story. Katie’s hard working and enjoys her job. But with her friend getting married, she journeyed home. It was great to see her mom and sister, even though it was a short visit she planned to make the best of it. Chase lost his brother in an accident, and was left with raising his nephew. His whole world was his love for his nephew, and was raising him to be the best he could be. After being set up for the wedding of their friend, they both found themselves forced to be together. Were they really hating it? Can Chase and Katie work through the hurt they both suffered? I admire this author! This story is all about her second Chance romance and is fun and enjoyable to listen too. Her books are always filled with unforgettable sweet romance. This is just the beginning of her newest series and I am looking forward to seeing what comes next.

I enjoyed reading The Secrets of Arkaim, it is the second book in The Reeds of West Hills series. I didn’t read the first book in the series, but I feel like I still had the needed information to enjoy the story. Jon and Frank are twin boys from a large family that have discovered they are “gifted” (they have magical powers) and thus go to school to learn how to control them. This year school is extra exciting because of the Zodiac Games. Unfortunately, students are becoming sick, and they must figure out how to save them. The friendships and relationships in this book are fantastic. I highly recommend anyone looking for a good mystery story with a touch of magic. If you love books like Harry Potter and/or the Percey Jackson series, you’ll love this book. I look forward to reading the first book and next book in the series.

This is a newer author for me which I enjoyed and look forward to seeing what is next for them in the future. This is a well written story about betrayal and facing the one person who should never have betrayed you. I found this book to be suspenseful in parts and engaging in others. A hard to put down story that is fast paced and easy to read. I enjoyed the characters and what they brought to the story. An entertaining story where the main character has a secret that he doesn’t need to come out but what will happen if it does? This is a story that also has some suspense to it as well. There is great growth of the plot and characters throughout the story. I enjoyed reading this book and I highly recommend it.

This book is the third book in the series but can be read as a standalone. However, each of these books are fantastic and I would highly recommend reading them all. The connection between the main characters is undeniable. Their chemistry is evident right from the start and it only seems to grow in strength as the book goes on. There seems to be so much standing in their way, themselves included, that it is hard at times to see how they might get their happy ending. The story itself is just as good as the others. I was pulled into it straight away and couldn’t wait to see how things would play out. This has been a really strong series overall and I can’t wait to see what is in store for the next book.

Cassy has been through hell the past few years, the trauma of her abduction by a madman but when she is sent to cover a spate of robberies and a murder the last person she expected to see is the only one she has to protect her heart from or she will spiral further into her head.
Boyce Hunt left the woman he loved to protect her but her can’t explain that to her, seeing her two years ago and by abducted and tortured was nearly the breaking of him. Although an FBI agent he has a past of criminality and destruction that he hopes does not taint him any further, sent to help on a case of robberies and death he know walking back in Eider will match him the one person he does not want to hurt anymore.
Can they work together without both of them getting attached and do there job or will they come crashing down again?
This is the second book in the series and follows the other River’s Sister Cassy. Cassy first shows up in the first book Atonement, when Agent Hunt agrees you find the dynamic between them is frosty but there is always hint of them thawing as the story went on. Now in this book it delves deeper into the relationship and the hidden past of Hunt and the totally devastation him leaving caused Cassy which is brilliant to read.
I would say that this book can be read as a stand alone but I would definitely read the books in order as in the first book you understand the nature of why Cassy is so traumatise by that event and how Boyce and her rekindled the relationship. This book is full of thrilling turns and twists and as you follow with the investigation you slow uncover the clues as they do.
I love that Boyce is just as vulnerable as Cassy as in the first story you did not get to see the full extent of his character and this delves more into his history and past and how this has shaped him to be how he is and what he has done to protect the ones he loves.
If you are looking for a fast pace, murder, mayhem with suspense, violence and action this is the book for you and if you have not read the first book in this series I suggest you do and Can’t wait for the next instalment.

Wonderful read. Sad, heartbreaking, but true in all ways about losing a friend/pet. Wish I had known about this book when we lost our favorite pet a couple years ago.
Ehli-nikkalu, eldest daughter of the Hittite emperor, is married to a mere vassal of her father. But despite her status, her foreignness and inability to produce an heir drive a wedge between her and the court that surrounds her. When her secretary is mysteriously murdered while carrying the emperor a message that would indict the loyalty of his vassal, Ehli-nikkalu adopts the dead man’s orphaned children out of a guilty sense of responsibility.
A young cousin she has never met becomes a pretender to the throne and mobilizes roving armies of the poor and dispossessed, which causes the priority of her loyalties to become even more suspect. However, Ehli-nikkalu discovers a terrible secret that could destabilize the present regime if the pretender ever learns of it.
With the help of a kindly scribe, her brave young ward, and an embittered former soldier trapped in debt and self-doubt, Ehli-nikkalu sets out to save the kingdom and prove herself to her father. And along the way, she learns something about love.
In the year following her brother’s tragic murder, Public Defender Hannah Patel withdrew into the comfort of family and career. As time passed, the man obsessed with her became a terrifying threat.
A fatal error caused Detective Doyle Murphy to doubt his future in law enforcement, but protecting Hannah presents an opportunity for redemption. Neither expect their forced closeness to create genuine feelings.
As their burgeoning romance grows, it pushes her stalker over the edge.

Death consumes all, but even it spit out Camden Callahan.
In the years since his father’s betrayal, 19-year-old pirate, Cam, has done the unimaginable to keep his true identity a secret. When a desperate gamble gets his crew slaughtered and his captain kidnapped, Cam wakes from the ashes of their ship, gifted with newfound powers and a fresh start in life.
But with the fate of his captain—the only one who knows Cam’s past—uncertain, he must infiltrate an island run by an overzealous doctor, and his deadly followers, before the captain spills Cam’s truth to the world, ripping away his last chance at freedom.
Even beneath the tropical sun, shadows thrive as dark deals are struck, forcing Cam to confront old foes—both within and without—as time runs out.
On this island, wearing his old name may be the only way Cam can keep himself, his captain, and his new allies alive. Doing so, though, would mean choosing to face death—and his father—a second time.
Brittany Tucker lives on an island off the coast of Washington state with her husband, daughter, a menagerie of fur-children, and her imagination. She prefers generic cereal, collects tattoos and action figures, and was in the top 5% on the planet for ship’s sunk in Assassin’s Creed III.

Wild For Me is the Third book in the Balefire series by Tam DeRudder Jackson. It is a New Adult contemporary rockstar romance with second chances, jealousy, insecurity, baggage, emotion, tension, chemistry, sparks, drama, angst, hot spicy details, and taking a chance on love. This is an on-going series, but each instalment focuses on a different couple- so this could be read as a standalone if you wanted. But, having said that, there is a cast of recurring characters and interesting details and developments in the previous books that you might want to know going into this story. Plus, who doesn’t love a great rockstar romance- and this series follow the members of rock group Balefire- and what a story they each have to tell! To be honest, I wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy this instalment, because I hadn’t particularly liked our MMC, Dakota, in previous books. But I am happy to say that getting to know him better here, really gave me a better understanding of him, and he well and truly won me over. From a one-night-stand two years previously Dakota and Annabelle come face to face at a friend’s wedding. Sparks fly- simmering chemistry ignites, and things definitely heat up. But these two will have to deal with a bit of baggage if they are to find happiness together. So, buckle up for a rocking good read. Happy Reading…

Shadow’s Fall is the third book in the Shadowstalker series by Natalie Johanson. I have come into this series a little late, starting on the third instalment instead of the first- as when I purchased a copy I hadn’t realised this was Book #3 in an ongoing series. I really wish that I had noticed that before embarking on this adventure because I think knowing what happened previously would have made this an even better read. So having said that, I will be going back and reading the previous two books before continuing on with any new instalments in the series. I highly recommend that you don’t do what I did by jumping into the series on this instalment. Take the time and go back to the beginning and find out what happens there before diving in here. I think knowing what happens previously will definitely enhance your reading experience of this book, and the series as a whole. This is a bit of an epic YA fantasy with magic, action, romance, drama, danger, emotion, intrigue, mystery, secrets, discoveries, challenges, surprising developments, and sacrifice. This is a well-woven story with plenty of texture, depth, and layers that are cleverly crafted into an engrossing read. The world-building is immersive and the characters are engaging- making for a great read. This instalment ends on a cliffhanger- so everything is set to continue in Book #4—- Bring it on! Happy Reading…

Lies – Truth – Love is the first book in the ‘Which Comes First’ series by Marina Hanna. This is a wonderful contemporary romance with secrets, lies, miscommunications, misunderstandings, angst, drama, emotion, humour, push-pull, danger, tension, chemistry, and finding love unexpectedly. I love the way Ms. Hanna weaves her stories, she always manages to completely captivated me right from the very first page. Her characters are so well developed with their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. That’s not to say that I didn’t frustrate me to death at times, because they did- there were moments where I so wanted to shake them and tell them to get their act together- but thankfully they finally did. This is a fun romance about finding love unexpectedly- with enough drama and angst to fuel the tension and add extra interest. I loved Ethan and Olivia, even when they frustrated me. They are both carrying baggage from their previous relationships which make them wary about love. But that gives them a vulnerability which makes them relatable, and in turn made them easy to connect with and invest in. So, what happens when Ethan omits something important when telling Olivia about himself? What happens when secrets are revealed, and the truth comes out? Is forgiveness in the cards? Will these two take a chance on love? This story is well worth the read to find out. I am really looking forward to seeing what Ms. Hanna does next. Happy Reding…

I really enjoyed this book, it really hit me hard because I have lived through this experience. The story dealt with a very difficult subject in a very thoughtful and compassionate way. I think that it would be a good book to introduce a difficult subject to your young children, the loss of a pet. I recommend this book to any parent whose child might be going through this difficult situation. It will help them understand what is happening and maybe make them feel better about the process.
There are many times I read a Lois Wickstrom book and wonder how simple and meaningful they are. Especially when you write for young children, a trivial topic can make such a huge difference to their lives. In this book Shirl and her alien friend Eee-ahh, head to school together where the topic of discussion is Constellations. Eee-ahh shows different planets and connects the dots so easily to show the children different constellations. This is such a cool book to engage in conversation with any kid. Would highly recommend it.

Well I thoroughly enjoyed this well written and imaginative tale. The author brings to life magical creatures such as dragons, mermaids, gnomes, and sylphs to life. Four children with nothing seemingly in common all arrive to the toy store on the same day. I thought the author did a great job of developing the characters of not only the four children, but their families as well. The imaginaries were also quite charming and interesting as well. This is definitely a great middle grade read, I definitely enjoyed the action and adventure that the children’s imaginations lead them on and the surprise twist ending definitely had be on the edge until the final page. Absolutely a great story for anyone, young or old, with an imagination!

These two have a past and when fate brings them back together things get very interesting. Will old feelings reignite? Can they mend their broken hearts and finally get a HEA?
Overall I really enjoyed this book. We get drama, jealousy and so much more. My emotions were all over the place. All of the characters added a great element to the story. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing and I look forward to reading more from her and the series. 1-click and get started today.

This was a wonderful and sweet contemporary romance that I loved from beginning to end. This is a new author to me and I am looking forward to more from this author. Romance, drama, angst, love, fear with spark and sizzle giving me all the feels that I love reading a romance book. Two beautiful souls that were a bit broken with their past that come together in different circumstances.

Our family has always been centered around many different animals, so I was a little worried about picking this up but kept an open mind. I’m so glad I did because we just went through a situation almost EXACTLY like this, so it was timely. Even though we read this after the fact, it still helped my two kids (7 and 11) really get a better understanding that it’s a universal occurrence. It also gave us another chance to open up another discussion and let them know that they aren’t alone. I loved the compassion the author showed and how the rainbow bridge was detailed with grace. I would most highly recommend picking this up for the kids in your life on this difficult topic.
Which Comes First? LIES – TRUTH – LOVE. I have not read one book by Marina that I have not loved. Her writing is spot on, and she has a wicked sense of humour that comes through so loud and clear. LIES – TRUTH – LOVE is a standalone contemporary romance with everything that makes this story a wonderful read. This is Ethan and Olivia’s story and their path to love is as rocky as it comes when there is miscommunication and misunderstandings. Lies – are not so easily forgiven but the heart wants what the heart wants. It’s so easy for the characters to capture your heart and feel invested in them. It is a brilliantly written quick read, but it has everything to keep you thoroughly engaged. I absolutely loved every minute of it. The are some very sexy scenes where the chemistry sizzled and jumped right off the page. With lots of passion, a boatload of desire, a dash or two of sass, a few intense moments, a drop or two of angst and a little drama and some super smoking hot times makes for some fabulous reading. underlying danger Hearts maybe broken, a few intense moments, lots of passion, angst and a little drama and you can’t put this book down. This story has some danger, drama, suspense, intrigue, and romance plus there is a few emotional scenes that will make your heart ache. I have said it before, but I will say it again – You know when you find an author and her words just click and you can’t get enough. Well, that is what happens when I read Marina’s work.

Shadow’s Fall is the third book in the YA Shadowstalker series. I had started reading this book before I realised it was the third book in the series, so I stopped and went back and made sure to read the first two books, Shadow’s Voice and Shadow’s Past. They follow on from each other, so I was glad that I did. Natalie’s writing is imaginative and thrilling and it’s easy to see why she won first place in the Firebird’s Book Awards. The Shadowstalker is a slightly dark magical fantasy series, and it is that darkness that gives the story that much more edge. It is a testament to Natalie’s writing and world building skills that I enjoyed this story and the others so much as I am not usually a lover of YA stories. I really enjoyed the MC Rose, she is a well-developed character that is strong, sassy, tough and kickarse and does not apologise for who she is. Rose’s past raises its ugly head when she is forced to hunt one who is intent on destroying everything she loves. Will that darkness be her undoing once again? If you like something a little dark, something a little mysterious, something a little thrilling then jump in because this story did not disappoint.

Mr. Barsins’ Toy Emporium by Lois Wickstrom is a wonderful and magical tale. Imagine having friends where you can see each other’s playmates. Well, that is what Lois gives her readers. Four friends Jack, Lily, Audrey and Nick who all end up at Mr Barsins’ Toy Emporium and find their playmates and thus the true adventure begins. This delightful tale made me think of the movie Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium. Great movie. Anyhow I digress. Mr Barsins’ Toy Emporium is a lot of fun and the vivid narrative lets your imagination run free and wild. A place that you can create your own world. A world that is only limited by your imagination. I realm of possibilities. A realm of dreams. A realm where real or imagined friends come together. A magical adventure that is full of joy, wonder, hope, friendships and so much more. This is a great tale that any child will fall in love and want to visit Mr Barsins’ Toy Emporium

4.5 stars Wild For Me is the third book in the Balefire series by Tam DeRudder Jackson. All the books are about a rock ‘n’ roll band Balefire. I suggest you read them all in order to get the whole picture of the characters, the band, their topsy turvy world. They can each be read as standalones though thank God because I came in all over the place. This is a second chance tale that you won’t want to put down. It is an erotic contemporary rock ‘n’ roll romance story. The series focus’ on each member of the band Balefire and this is Dakota and Annabelle’s story. It is passionate and intense and full of sex, booze, and rock ‘n’ roll. This sensuous and seductive story pulls you in. I like we get a deeper insight and exposure of who these characters really are as the story is told in dual POV. The secondary characters help move the story forward but I really, really wanted to take out the smarmy band manager. He so rubs me the wrong way. Sparks fly in this sexy and hot, steamy and seductive, passionate and intense tale. It was only meant to be one night, just like all the others. Only it wasn’t, it was the best of his life and that is saying something. When he stumbles across her again, he is given a second chance. He won’t let her go again so he jumps into action come hell or high water. Annabelle walked away from the best night of her life. Now he stands before her looking like he wants to devour her. If you like erotic stories that are super sexy, have a little angst and a lot of drama then you need to get your hands on this series. You won’t regret it.

This is the third book in the Shadowstalker series. I initially started this book without reading the previous two but went back to read the previous books before finishing it. I would recommend that you read the first two books prior to starting this one to get a clearer picture of the characters and the ongoing story. This was an enjoyable young adult fantasy. It was well-written; everything links together nicely between the books and within this one. The writing style was easy to follow and sets up the twists in a satisfying way. I also enjoyed the way the characters, character developments and growing relationships were written. I’m hoping another book is released soon as I need to know what happens next!

This is a middle grade read by Lois Wickstrom and was a very fun read! You must, however, have an imagination to really enjoy this book! It’s what it’s all about!
There are 4 youngsters who will become unlikely friends through a series of challenges placed on them by Mr. Barsins after they wander into this Toy Store. All the kids are fascinated by the word “emporium” (I mean, it *IS* a pretty cool word) and his “wall that isn’t there”. This is an adventure full of fantasy and wonder!!

Lois Wickstrom is probably better known for her picture books, but this is an extraordinary and magical middle grades read.
Right away, the whimsical cover “grabs” you in and invites you in like an intoxicating toy store. The beginning hooks you right away, wanting to find out about the characters, for the book follows 4 kids and their connection to the toy store of the title. I enjoyed reading about each characters’ stories, however, at times, the story felt disjointed and not smooth transitions between the different character stories within the overarching book.
I did appreciate the author’s world building, each child had a completely different and unique story, but all had a reason(s) to visit to toy shop. The slightly open ending was also appreciated, for it lets ones’ imaginations finish the story, especially with Jack.
The pacing was quick, with the exception of some disjointed flow as I mentioned above. Love the actual writing style, feels like the characters are acting out the scenes instead of talking to you. Overall, an enjoyable read!

Wonderful fantasy story that is perfect to listen to. Magic, mayhem, drama, danger and suspense that had me totally engaged listening to see what happens next.
Ian Troy is a bounty hunter that is living in exile…paying the price of war. When his past comes crashing in will Ian Troy protect his people and land within his magic when he sworn off to use it…..
Wonderful story and looking forward to listening to more.

L. Schneider – Review by Lorralei Hoerner
This is once again another good book by this author that I have read. I really like how the author is able to balance romance and drama. I was not able to put this book down and could not wait to see how it would all end. The chemistry between the characters was sizzling and the author brought them to life. I really like how there is drama surrounding the love story as in real life as well there is not really always a straight forward means to the end. Also the author is able to show that sometimes the least expected can lead to forever. Also that there is always a road to forgiveness and sometimes we must take a leap of faith. I will definitely be reading more from this author in the future.
