Foxy Tails by Natalina Reis – Review by Shadel Ayerbe

Foxy TailsFoxy Tails by Natalina Reis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Foxy Tails by Natalina Reis is a story full of love and adventure that makes it that more interesting.

A really original fantasy romance, Foxy Tails combined elements of fairy tales with a quest involving magic, shifters, and a regal realm. I adored how unique this narrative and its surroundings were. In order to keep the reader interested in the characters’ adventures, the author makes several references to the culture and mythologies of ancient China. These references are both educational and fascinating.Huli and Xiao Ying, in my opinion, constituted a good pairing that was well-balanced. There was a clear connection between these two, and I enjoyed watching them grow closer even though their romance didn’t feel like the story’s primary focus.

Every page was exciting and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. It is a very unique story with even more one of a kind characters. The story really transports you into their world. I couldn’t put the book down

Just one time by Samantha Baca is a story full of romance. The passion in the book pulls you right in.

Turning 40 is not the worst thing that can happen. She can’t seem to escape her biological alarm clock, though, and I worry that time is running out. Every day that goes by increases the likelihood that she won’t fulfill her lifelong desire to become a mother.

Her mother’s frequent unsuccessful attempts to hook her up with any new bachelors in town are enough to spark small-town rumors for months. Her bossy and overly critical parent comments never go unheard. Ignore the fact that she attempted to introduce her to the elderly widow who uses a cane and has children close to her age, Old Man Bucky, who lives across the street from her.

This is about the emptiness she’s been carrying about for so long that she fears she’ll never be able to fill it. Her extraordinarily attractive closest friend is ready and prepared to assist her in realizing her dream of becoming a mother.

There is no one she trusts more, even though it may not be the traditional manner to begin a family. They also decided that it would only take place once. Whatever happens, they go with their friendship unbroken. She is aware that this is going beyond the bounds of friendship, but this is her one chance.

Weep, Woman, Weep: A Gothic Fairytale about Ancestral Hauntings by Maria DeBlassie – Review by Shadel Ayerbe

Weep, Woman, WeepWeep, Woman, Weep by Maria DeBlassie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a great gothic fairytale. It has horror and haunting.

Sueo, New Mexico’s women have no idea how to live a life free of sorrows. It’s La Llorona’s fault. She scours the rivers and streams in search of the next generation of girls to baptize, shedding more tears than any woman should have to bear. They can’t do much about the Weeping Woman except avoid wandering near the riverbed at night and attempt to keep their melancholy at bay. That’s what draws her to them: the anguish and heartbreak passed down from generation to generation of women. Mercy, maybe more than anyone else, is aware of this. She nearly drowned after losing her dearest buddy to La Llorona.

She did, however, make it through. But something wasn’t quite right about her return, and she knows La Llorona won’t be content until she brings the one soul who escaped down to the river’s depths. Mercy battles for her life to escape the ties of generational trauma and reclaim her soul free of ancestral hauntings by turning to the only things she knows will rescue her: plant medicine, pulp literature, and the promise of a love so powerful that even La Llorona can’t stop it. What follows is a breathtaking account of one woman’s journey into the realms of magic, healing, and rebirth.

I loved this story. I loved every page of it. Every chapter was exciting. This is my first book from this author and I can’t wait to read the rest of her books.

Leon Falcon has had his eye on Penny since the first moment he saw her. A gentleman of his standing would usually woo a woman, court her, and gain her father’s approval. Falcon, on the other hand, doesn’t have to do any of that with Penny because she’s a slave in 1864 South Carolina and can’t say no to him or any other white guy. Falcon’s strategy is straightforward: first, he’ll purchase her. He’ll show her how to do it. He’s going to take her after that. Penny exposes his heart to a love so great that it transcends every force that dares to break them apart, and he quickly discovers he’s the student.

I loved this story. I loved every page of it. Every chapter was exciting. This is my third book from this author and I can’t wait to read more of her books.

A Hundred Wishes (Band of Sisters) by Marianne Rice- Review by Shadel Ayerbe

A Hundred Wishes (Band of Sisters)A Hundred Wishes by Marianne Rice
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is a contemporary romance novel.

Gina Fisher, a former Army sergeant who was gravely injured by a roadside bomb two years ago, is now ready to resume her life. Sewing, creating, and educating youngsters online have given her a feeling of inner calm. Work that keeps her apart from everyone but her sisters. Bryce Cambridge, an arson investigator, has never been shot down as swiftly or as abruptly as he is by the woman selling quilts with stunning brown eyes. When he bumps into her the next day at a bowling alley, luck is on his side. Her witty retort piques his interest and turns him on. The chemistry between them is intense, and no matter how hard she tries to resist, the spark between them is too strong to ignore.

Gina is weakening the barrier she’s constructed around her heart because to those blue-gray eyes and beautiful grin. Bryce, on the other hand, wants to see all Gina is hiding as their relationship progresses. Gina’s puckered, scarred skin and the shrapnel embedded in her body are only the top layers of the scars she attempts to conceal. Even for someone as tough as Bryce, her deepest, darkest secret may be too revolting.Because his concerns are a part of her everyday life.

Wildcat: A Steamy Firefighter Romance by Carina Alyce – Review by Shadel Ayerbe

Wildcat (MetroGen After Hours, #1)Wildcat by Carina Alyce
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book has romantic suspense as well as sports. The author does a good job of mixing these two and makes a great sports romance.

She isn’t seeking for Mr. Forever; she is looking for Mr. Right Now. Everything changes when she brings her city’s star football player home, and he begged for more. There’s so much more Leslie McClunis didn’t give up ballet to pursue a career in firefighting because she was told she’d be more successful if she behaved more ‘feminine.’ She’s entitled to curse like a male and toss her one-night stands to the curb in the morning like a guy, in her opinion. As football’s biggest and baddest defensive end, Trevor Hampton isn’t used to being shown the door. He doesn’t like to lose, therefore he wants Leslie for longer than a night. Nothing is going to stop him from getting his hands on his very own firefighting wildcat. Not even a thief of his football team.

I loved this story. I loved every page of it. Every chapter was exciting. This is my first book from this author and I can’t wait to read the rest of her books.
