Managing Mischief really kicks things up a notch from the first book, and I loved it! The covers of this series are extremely eye-catching. If you haven’t read the first one, I would recommend it. Alyndra really gets into how their relationship grows and changes, both inside and outside the club, as they deal with all sorts of drama. And let’s talk about those spicy scenes—whew! Also I could not believe the plot twist in this one! Overall, it was a fun and steamy read that kept me hooked from start to finish.
I absolutely love the Shattered Embrace Series and this second book, Managing Mischief. This book is a continuation of Ashton and Zach’s story and their Dom/sub relationship. The author does a great job connecting the reader to the characters as you join them on their journey as they navigate life. As with any relationship, there are ups and downs and good and bad but the author does an amazing job bringing everything together. I can’t wait to read the next installment.

Holy smokes! The tension between Ashton and Zachary is amazing and will blow you away! I highly recommend this steamy, sultry book to be your next read. BDSM is involved so be prepared.
First book was so good and I couldn’t wait to read the next one. This second book in the series was even more intense. Both Ashton and Zachary’s attraction and desire grows and intensifies as time moves forward. Both are very taken with one another in every way possible. Their heated connection takes them on even more twists and turns then before. Even through the difficult situations they endure, they are able to manage the circumstances together. It is amazing to see their connection grow even through challenging matters.
This is the second book of Ashton and Zach. This book did not disappoint. I will start off by saying that you really need to read the first book to fully comprehend what is happening but if you didn’t, you would be able to understand everything that is going on. It just might take a little while to piece things together. This book is not short of steam and passion. It will have you blushing while reading this. It was a very quick read and even though I felt that it could go on forever, it packs a big punch for the storyline in a short amount of time. You will be turning pages as quickly as possible to see what happens next. There is the element of surprise with this book when the past comes lurking forward. There isn’t as many scenes in this book as I thought there would be with it being somewhat centered around a BDSM club. The said, it doesn’t mean that the steam between the characters isn’t there. This is the continuation of their relationship and them learning to really trust each other. They already have trust inside the club but they now need to really trust each other on the outside. This is such a good read and it won’t take you long at all. Again, I suggest that you read the first one because it is a continuation of the characters but you can pick it up quickly if you didn’t. With Shattered Embrace and who they are being so much of the focus of Zach and Ashton’s story, I am a little disappointed we didn’t get more club or scene-y scenes. I hope that with the next one in the series, we get that.
After Ashton and Zach finally agree to be ‘boyfriend and girlfriend’ while in the process of defining and establishing their other roles, Ashton and Zach continue to get to know one another. When Ashton receives the job offer that seems too good to be true, Zach freaks out. This causes much tension in their world.
Ashton takes the time to figure things out for herself. Ashton goes to Atlanta, home of the new job, for a tour and an interview. While there, her new boss takes her to an exclusive bar/club. This new possible boss is hiding his agenda from Ashton. That is not all he is hiding. Secrets are revealed. So many secrets. Ashton and Zach have the fight they have been needing to have for a while and things start to smooth out for everyone.
Part of what I like about this series is that the storyline isn’t ending. In the next book, we might change focus on the couple but the overarching story remains. And, I am here for it. I have so many questions that need to be answered. I am looking forward to Derek’s story as well as getting answers.
Don’t wait!! Jump in now before we are 5 books deep!! A little spice, a lot of sass, a dash of mystery, a pinch of suspense and a sprinkling of romance make this series an excellent recipe for success!
Ashton and Zachary are back for another round. In Managing Mischief the author brings the reader on a journey of trust. They need to trust each other, however that’s easier said than done. I’ve enjoyed the chemistry between these characters. It’s off the charts. Which is what sucked me in. Had me wanting more. This book is no different. While both these characters had growth in book 1, the growth they experienced in book 2 seemed greater. In saying that, this book is definitely not a standalone novel. Book 1 is needed to get the initial understanding. Book 2 being the growth and understanding. While I would like to read more from this author. I also want more from this series’ characters. If it be a continuation of Ashton and Zachary’s story or one of the supporting group of friends. More stories to tell with the right amount of passion, chemistry, romance, drama, ect.
I know it says it can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading the first because there are bits of information that has which can answer some questions that are likely to come up. Just like this answered some I had for the first book
This second is essentially a retelling but in the male perspective. It provides more depth for how they arrived to their “destination” lol. The BDSM kinks are accurate for the most part and easily relatable to. However it again plateaued for me and I felt the plot hit a stand still. The conversation became repetitive and after a while a bit dull and doomed. It’s a good read to pass the time a quick series with a surface level intrigue.

I was genuinely excited to dive in the characters were spicy. And it had everything you’d want a alphadominated field that’s boss is rendered speechless when his little brothers best friend barrels in loud and in charge. However that’s not her own personality. Who she is behind closed doors is everything he’s wanted. Everything’s he’s craved and needed. And now’s his opportunity to snare her Especially considering she’s now applied to become a member to he and his brothers BDSM club.
This book is extremely promising a hot and heavy read that can tide you over when you want something fast.
The conversation does get a bit repetitive and The waters get a bit murky when it seems the two MC’s have conflict. But that quickly goes away within a few pages.
Personally could’ve been a killing swoon worthy book it just got lost in the mix with the repetition, and plateaued plot

This book is the follow up/ continuation of Hidden Mischief. I enjoyed the first book alot and was excited to to read this one. We were introduced to Zach and Ashton in the first book and this book was much needed for their HEA. So much happened in their story, many hurdles and hardships to overcome and none of it was easy. They were awesome main characters and even though I’m sad their story is done, I enjoyed it alot. I am looking forward to reading more by this author in the future! Happy Reading!

This is the second book in this series but although it can be read as a stand alone story I would read the first one to give you a better insight into the relationship and how this couple got here. This second book shows more of the venerability and insight into both worlds of the main characters and is brilliant to read.
Zach has always been a strong alpha character but when he is rocked to his core it was lovely to see the softer side to him and what he was prepared to do. Ashton although a Sub her sassy side is always great to read and delve into more as the story goes on.
The twists and turns within the story adds another layer and always the secondary characters are a dream to read an only enhances the story even more.
Can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Managing Mischief is the second book in the Shattered Embrace Series. This is a Contemporary Romance that I absolutely loved reading. I highly recommend reading the first book in this series if you haven’t already started it. It will give you important information about the characters and what has been going on so far. Ashton and Zachary oh my these have some sizzling hot chemistry between them . Follow along as their story continues. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I look forward to reading more from this Author.
Managing Mischief (Shattered Embrace Series) by Alyndra Quinn. This is the second book in the Shattered Embrace Series and I highly recommend reading the 1st book because the characters are a continuation from that book. Its the story of Zach & Ashton and their BDSM lifestyle. They are both new to this lifestyle and Zach wants to take things slow which in turn causes Ashton to think he doesn’t want to be with her. When Ashton is offered her dream job out of state will she take it and destroy everything she’s built with Zach. Zach also has a past that could very easily come back to haunt him and may destroy what he’s got going on now. The Chemistry is red hot between Zach and Ashton but will they be enough for them to make it work without outside influences breaking them apart. Read this spicy love story to find out!
In book 1, there’s loads of chemistry and inability to keep their hands to themselves. In book 2, Ashton and Zachary have signed the contract to bind themselves into a relationship and are facing a lot more everyday issues leading to a lot different feelings than in book 1.
Here, we find them shopping together, choosing jewelry to send a message to everyone in SE, dealing with business and misunderstandings, and finding themselves having to choose one another again. There’s so much anticipation and emotion involved beyond passion and it’s a beautiful but bumpy path they find themselves on towards one another.
I am thankful I did read the first book prior to reading this one. That being said, this plot is refreshing amidst all the book selections I’ve been choosing recently.
It wasn’t as spicy as I thought it would be considering it is a book with BDSM woven through the storyline but that does not distract from the quality of the plot.
We get more of Zachary’s backstory in this sequel but only as it lends to a plot twist that will be continued throughout the series. Ashton learns more about herself as they go through their struggles and Zachary admits his feelings aloud. But We get their happily ever after and learn Derek is on deck for the next part of the series.

I completely and utterly DEVOURED this book, I mean literally read it in about 6 hours, I couldn’t put it down. I really liked the first book in this series, but personally all of the action, the nitty gritty, passion induced, craziness happens in this book. To say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement, I loved this book. Please make sure to read the first book in this series as this is a continuation of Zac and Ashton’s story.
First off the characters are ridiculously relatable, Zac, is just trying to navigate these new feelings he has for Ashton, without hurting her or placing her in harms way but by taking it slow and not communicating this, he’s actually hurting her more. Ashton is constantly second guessing herself and Zac, from past rejection and bad experiences shes terrified of rejection and having to hide who she is again. It all plays out beautifully, the build up, the explosion, the aftermath, was all masterfully done.
I have high praise for this author, I think the writing is terrific, I think the characters are fun, and easily relatable, and she builds the story without over complicated and unnecessary “side quests” as I like to call them and she doesn’t drift off and start a million different could be story’s for other characters. But in the same sense, there’s just enough there to be played off of and the makings of some more terrific books. 10 out of 10 I would definitely recommend this book.

I recommend reading the first book as this second part installment picks up and you get to know more not of only Ashton and Zachary’s relationship but more of the club Shattered Embrace and what it all entails. This story is about D/s, power, dominance and also secrets and a bit of danger.
Zachary and Ashton continue to explore the BDSM lifestyle…Zachary reminding Ashton that she is only his alone. When an opportunity of a lifetime comes to Ashton, the stakes are very high…but it may also destroy what Zachary and Ashton have built together already. With miscommunication and secrets that drive a wedge between Zachary and Ashton….will Zachary’s past come back to haunt him and place Ashton in harms way….or will they get the HEA they deserve…

After reading the first book I was really excited to read this one. I connect with the story from the moment I started reading and I think this book has to be even better than the first. I loved watching how the relationship between the characters developed even more. Even with new things thrown at them their connection was strong and shone through. I thought the story was continued well. It flowed naturally from the first book and felt like the extension it was. I enjoyed reading the whole story and wanted to see how things would play out. This is still a new author to me but this book has just confirmed even more that I want to explore more of her work. This is a great story that I would definitely recommend.

It is the second book in Ashton and Zachary’s story, so I highly recommend reading the first before diving into this one, as there is important story details, character introductions, and other pertinent information contained there that I think you should know in order to full appreciate this instalment. In Book #1, we met Ashton as she applies to join an exclusive BDSM club, and she doesn’t realise, until it’s too late, that the CEO of the company she has just been hired to consult for, is also the head of the same BDSM club she has just applied to…. things get interesting very quickly…. Not to mention that he’s also her best friend’s brother…. So in this instalment we get a ‘closer look’ at the ‘club scene’ and all those spicy details. We also get more questions answered that were left hanging from the previous book. It is a steamy, contemporary romance, with a best friend’s brother element, palpable chemistry, banter, a BDSM club, Dom/sub dynamics, Alpha type male, some angst, spicey encounters, emotion, and a little drama- which made for another engrossing read. The next instalment, Discovering Desire will give us Derek’s story (Zachary’s brother, who is also Ashton’s best friend). Can’t wait for that. Happy Reading

Watching Ashton and Zachary’s relationship flourish is fun and realistic. Realistic is not an adjective I often use to describe book characters, but I believe it is an accurate word in their situation. We FINALLY get some back story on Zachary. There is a lot of learning in this novel, more about the BDSM community of course. But we also learn a lot about Zachary and his family.
I refuse to give away spoilers, so you will have to find out for yourself by reading it. I cannot wait to read more by this author!
Wow. I am thoroughly impressed by this book. The complexity of Zachary and Ashton’s relationship is intriguing and mature. This novel contains an immense amount of information about the BDSM lifestyle. Also, the amount of respect shown for those who enjoy certain things but not others, the consent, and the way the information is presented is impressive.
Honestly, I have nothing bad to say about this book except that it ended too soon!
WHEW!! Someone get me some ICE! This one was SPICY. Goodness. I adore Zachary and Ashton’s story so much. I’m not gonna lie though, it was a lot. But absolutely worth it. If you’re here for a little kiss on the cheek and some snuggles, this is NOT the book for you. This is hot, and heavy and deep and intense. And 1000% worth all the tears I shed over it.The only “spoiler” I’ll give is one the author gives, and that is, that they get their HEA. so, yeah… There’s that 🙂 Read this series. You wont be disappointed, like AT ALL.
Heart stopping from A to Z. From page one the dedication the incredible Alyndra Quinn informs the writer that Zachary and Ashton get there happily ever after. Only she keeps out the gut wrenching struggles it takes them to reach it. Once again, the dual perspective of Zachary and Ashton takes you on an emotional journey. While this could be read as a standalone honest book one gives the foundation that this power couple was built on and the beginning of their journey into uncharted territory together. Picks up at the end of book one. Ashton never anticipated shopping with Zachary and in an erotic wonderland she finally enjoys shopping for once. Zachary, while unsure at first about the actual relationship aspect, enjoys it more than he ever thought. She fills the part of his life he never realized was missing until she fell in his lap and filled them for him. He gives her more than she ever anticipated and flourishes under his watchful care. Until, a short three months later one miscommunication, and he falls into the clutches of heartbreak thinking it’s all been fake, built on lies for the benefit of his main rival. Ashton on the other hand is heartbroken at not knowing how to get him to listen to her, to let her explain and prove that it was all real. As quickly as everything began it starts to crumple the fires and longing, keeping them, both connected while their heads battle with their hearts. How do they reach their happy ending? Can Ashton have it all, the man, and the career? What will happen when Zachary’s rival uses what’s his as a pawn? In this second book we see Zach and Ashton in their sub/Dom relationship. A lot has happened and they are much stronger for it. But, just as things were getting settled in, a new contender has shown up. A once in a lifetime opportunity comes up for Ashton to lead a research team. But will this affect their relationship, just as Zachary is getting used to having a long-term relationship. I loved reading their story and I was not expecting that plot twist at the end. I hope to read more by this author!
The story between Ashton and Zachary was really good. I enjoyed the back-and-forth between the two characters. Ashton is a widow who is still grieving. When she finally decides to attend a munch she finds that she has jumped into the lap of her boss the CEO. Zachary takes an interest when he sees that Ashton has applied to his club Shattered Embrace unbeknownst to Ashton. Ashton has dual personalities. She’s a strong independent woman, but when she falls at Zachary’s feet she becomes submissive. This was a great BDSM read that I enjoyed a lot. I can’t wait to read more!
Managing Mischief is the second sexy tale in the Shattered Embrace series and the second in Zachary and Ashton’s duet. It can be read as a standalone, but you need to read the first book Hidden Mischief before this one. Well, I think so anyway. Alyndras narrative lends to the feeling of being surrounded by sights, smells and feelings. Its easy to fall into a mind set of exploration and self-discovery with just her written words. Written words that make this BDSM story seem more real than other authors write about. This is an opposites attract sizzling tale with BDSM that will have you sitting up and taking notice. Alyndra invites and ensnares us to a world of D/s relationships and the sinful Club Shattered Embrace where deepest and darkest desires come to life. He craves his dominance and the power over her body. Things heat up with her learning his world but is this house of cards about to fall down around them. I look forward to more. Enjoy!
Ashton and Zachary truly will always be a small bit of my heart. Their characters are some of my favorites this year. Once again this author does a great job of blending steamy scenes with a full storyline. There’s bits of suspense which I liked but I’ll be honest they felt thrown in at the last minute. I don’t know they just felt a little out of place in the progression of the storyline but truly the story is still really good and I’m sad it’s over. I am however really am looking forward to book three. Four stars and highly recommended.
