I woke up with no memory of who I am. And watching the writhing tentacles of a monster pull a stag into the lake for lunch tells me I’m not in my own world anymore.
But where tf am I?
I want to believe I’m trapped in a nightmare, but the horrors are all too real. No, not the monsters – the two brothers whose prison I’ve fallen into.
They both want me because I’m their ticket out of this godforsaken place. I’ve become the prize in their twisted rivalry.
I just want to go home. But in order to do that, I’ve got to stop fighting and give in to their brutish ways. Because as much as I’m their key to escape, they are mine. We’re all bound by circumstance with only one way out…
Let them have me.

I really enjoy this author’s work this is the second book I’ve read by her. My only complaint is I wish her stories were longer. She gives us a lot of detail for how short it is, but that just leaves me wanting more about the characters and their world.

Corpse Pixie by Sinister Styx – Review by Rita White

It’s such a great, fast-paced, fantastic short read. This book is short but reads like a full novel. So much is going on with nothing missing. You have pixies, hunters, shifters, witches, and laments. You have mystery, killings, betrayal, magic, and crime.
I loved Belladonna and Rene. I can’t wait to see how this plays out and learn more about the other main characters. Another win!

Corpse Pixie by Sinister Styx – Review by Jessica Stone

So first off this is the first book that I’ve read from this author. It is a shorter story I believe less than 100 pages, so it is a quick read. Honestly I could’ve easily read 280 more pages so I’m really looking forward to the next books and the series.

I’m pretty impressed with the amount of detail the author was able to squeeze into such a short story you got to know the characters pretty well and she portrayed their emotions (which were pretty high) really well. I really enjoyed the mmc, Rene he had some interesting character development. Right off the bat he’s drowning in his grief so his turn around and “redemption” in this book is very satisfying.
I could use ALOT more back story on Belladonna though or fmc, she is a half pixie half necromancer, and while you do get to know her and her end goals, I would love to find out what her history is.

I feel like this book was a pretty bigger teaser, it was well written, giving enough information about the world and characters to move the story along smoothly but holding back just enough to keep the reader wanting more. I’m ready for a full length novel with more from these characters and the supernaturals in this world, so here’s to hoping this author delivers. Even without getting another longer book I would recommend this quick and fun read for any one in a rut or in need of a pallet cleanser. It’ll get the job done and then some!

This was my first time reading from this Author and WOW am I glad I took a chance. I am very impressed with the story telling, for a short novella there is so much packed into it. I didn’t want to put it down. The characters and the world building are fantastic. If you like Dark Paranormal romance with a side of murder, mystery, magic, suspense, danger and more than this is something you don’t want to miss out on. Pixies, witches, a half pixie-half necromancer the characters are unique and yet amazing. Corpse Pixie may be a short novella, but it is fast paced and packs a big punch.

4.5* Read
An amazing short story, incorporating Magic, murder, drama and romance
Belladonna is a rather loveable necromancer and pixie mix, used to living a solitary life. Desecrated dead bodies bring her out of her quiet life, as she tries to figure out what or who is doing this.
Rene is the brother to one of the murder victims, when his sister is killed and desecrated he finds himself falling into grief and away from his family. He piques the interest of Belladonna as he is looking into the deaths of other women. He believes he is hallucinating but really he is
An enjoyable read and I will be looking for more from this author.

Corpse Pixie

This is the second book I have had the pleasure of reading by Ms.Styx, while this is not my normal genre there is something about her writing that has me wanting to read more.

Rene and Belladonna meet in a very odd way, at a crime scene. Their story isn’t the normal love story but that was okay with me.

Rene’s only goal is to find out who murdered his twin sister. He gets help with his search from Belladonna and discovers there are some unexpected forces at work.

This was a quick and enjoyable read, perfect for a Sunday afternoon while watching football. While short the characters were well developed. I will be looking for more books by Ms. Styx in the future.

This is the second book I have read by Sinister Styx, but it will certainly not be the last. Corpse Pixie combines amazing world-building with fantastical, yet realistic characters. There is so much information packed into a short 89 pages. Belladonna, Rene, and Seraphine create a unique team of otherworldly beings set on bringing down groups of corrupted Hunters that have murdered innocent humans. The world building is detailed and immersive; I found myself living the dreams and nightmares along with Rene, feeling the need for revenge with Belladonna, and experiencing the beginning of feelings Belladonna and Rene begin to feel for one another. I wish there was more to this story so I could see what the future holds for our 3 friends.

This was a great read. This story was short and quick but I was kept glued to the pages . I didn’t know what to expect going into this book but I am so glad I took a chance because I loved the plot and the multitude of characters. Rene is looking for his sister’s killer and he is dealing with her death by drinking himself stupid. Belladonna starts messing with him so he thinks he’s losing his mind but she has long term plans for him. I wasn’t sure if I liked her in the beginning but enjoyed her more as the story went. There is mystery, drama, love, murder, and more in this book. There are some other characters in this book that grabbed my attention while reading. I hope the author writes more books with these characters because I didn’t want it to end. I recommend this book.

Corpse Pixie is a bit of a different read than I’ve read by this author in the past. For that reason, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. I was initially drawn to the book cover and the fact that I’ve read this author in the past. The theme of this book is different than many I’ve read in the past in general so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I like that this book alternates between main characters for multiple perspectives and the descriptive, vividly story telling easily keeps your attention throughout. This book has a little bit of everything without feeling like too much was crammed into a short story.

I didn’t really know what to expect with this book but I really enjoyed this story. It’s a short story that I read in under two hours. Being so short I wasn’t expecting there to be so much going on with the story and characters. It has everything that you would expect from a longer book, put into a much shorter one and this makes it really fast paced and not lagging at all. It has everything you love and expect from a dark paranormal romance book with magic, supernatural beings, murder, mystery, revenge, suspense and so much more. I would love to know more about the characters backstory and what the future holds for them. It left off in a way that might suggest that Sinister Styx may have more stories to write with these characters and I hope they do.

This novel is a short read and will not take you long at all to read. It follows Belladonna, who is a pixie and also half necromancer. Belladonna keeps seeing dead girls in her forest and can only be angry at the humans who could care less about the dead, until she meets René. After watching René for a little bit, Belladonna comes to find out that René is the brother of one of the girls she found. She comes to the conclusion that René could be of some use to her and finding why the bodies are being tossed away with no cares. René of course wants nothing more than to find his sister’s killer. As these two search for the killer they find more then they might have bargained for.

“Corpse Pixie” brings the reader into a world full of secrets, deceit, and supernatural beings. Our male, main character, Rene is torn apart by his sisters murder. He self medicated to his own detriment, obsessively and desperately seeking answers about his sister’s death. Our female, main character has her own obsession and motives, and the two of them become enmeshed in each other’s worlds.

If you enjoy a short and easy read, full of magic and the supernatural, this would be a great book for you. The author jumps into the story pretty quickly, adding new information with each chapter.

The author’s writing is unique and brings a fresh perspective to the fantasy genre, blending whimsical elements with darker themes. creating a perfect balance between light-hearted moments and more serious undertones. The world-building is imaginative, and the character development is intriguing, making it a compelling read for those who enjoy fantasy with crazy twists. I honestly did not know if I was going to like this book at first, but then it grabbed me and didn’t let go. I’m desperately hoping the author writes more books with these characters!

I love that Belladonna is a hybrid pixie/necromancer. It’s something I’ve never read about before, and the premise is an interesting one! She is written like a true pixie-sneaky, cruel, beautiful, dangerous, and remorseless. I adore her!

Rene is desperately seeking the person who murdered his twin sister and trying to cope with the loss in the only way he knows how-the bottom of a bottle. He starts seeing purple eyes and having euphoric experiences in a half-dreamlike state and believes he is losing his mind. It’s Belladonna doing her pixie shenanigans. At first, you really dislike her for using and abusing him the way she does (at least I did), but somehow you end up liking them as a team/couple by the end of the book. The twist at the end (the murderer) fit perfectly. There is enough foreshadowing that I guessed it, but I didn’t guess it so early that I was upset. The timing was perfect.

This is a quick, easy read and it is more plot than spice. Definitely check the triggers-it’s marketed as a dark paranormal book for a reason, and mental health is important.

I want to know more. I want to read about the team saving more paranormal creatures. I want to know if two of the characters actually went on the date she promised and how it went. I want to know how Rene handles being tied to Belladonna in the long run. I want to know about Belladonna’s past. There are so many ways the author could run with this book and these characters and I’m here begging for it!

This book was great. The characters, the overall plot, all great. The only downside of this book was that I felt like it could have had more detail and brought more side stories to life. I am the type of person who enjoys a good quest, but the side quests really make or break the story.

I think the author has some great characters and a storyline that is entertaining for fantasy readers. This was a quick and easy read. It was very difficult to put down once I started reading it. I would definitely recommend to all fantasy/mystery lovers.

A half Pixie half Necromancer 😱 Belladonna really gets under your skin but at the same time is so easy to like🤯. The Hunters are hunting the paranormal while the paranormal are hunting the Hunters!

René get put through the ringer- loses his twin sister to find out their brother is behind her murder for Demonic Powers, and in the midst becomes the Pixies play thing and under his control.

René also has dormant powers that become awoken thanks to Belladonna!

Corpse Pixie by Sinister Styx. For this book to be only 82 pages it was a fast paced, thrilling ride. Each page was packed with dark romance, mystery, drama, the supernatural and magic. Its the story of Rene who can’t move past the death of his sister. He turns to drugs and alcohol to cover the pain and continues to visit each and every murder scene to investigate. He is determined to find the murderer. One evening at a murder scene he feels the presence of another being and that presence follows him home. Belladonna senses in Rene a person of deep feeling and thinks he can help her avenge his people. Rene is not so sure of this. Belladonna is also determined to make Rene her own and she will stop at nothing to do that. Filled with unknown things and mystery everywhere this book will keep you flipping the pages until you are finished! Can’t wait to read the next book by this author!

Corpse Pixie by Sinister Styx – 4 stars
This is my first book by Sinister Styx. It was a short read but I could not put it down. We have a mystery, magic, paranormal with a bit of naughty and a little bit of a love story all intwined- but does the good guys win or is it the lesser of 2 evils? For only 82 pages it kept me intrigued.

Rene is a grief stricken brother wallowing in pills and alcohol but he swore he would find his twin’s murderer. Visiting the crimes scenes of the following victims the newest one leaves him feeling like he is losing his sanity to the Mystery violent eyed angel.

Belladonna is a grief to the point of numb necro-pixie hides for hundreds of years until the time is right to take vengeance for the death of her family becomes obsessed with the human that didn’t turn away from death and honored them victims when no one else would. Would he be the one to help her avenge her family’s demise?

I found the book to be intriguing and kept my attention. I would like to see more detail in the story line of how Belladonna fell in love with Rene. She basically left him alone for 2 weeks and then decided she had feelings for him. Other than the research he was doing what made her start showing emotions and feelings. Being a novella I could use a little more detail in this area. I will say I was not expecting the end of the story and who the murderer is but it works for me! The end of the book shows that it could become a series and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

A dark paranormal romance novella which had me hooked from page one. Belladonna is not human but has an obsession with a man, René. René knows deep loss and has turned to drink and drugs in order to block everything out. When he starts being visited by a ‘otherworldly’ woman he thinks he’s going mad. Belladonna believes they are kindred spirits and will give him relief from his pain, in return for his life. Although this is a quick read it has an intriguing storyline, fascinating characters and unexpected plot twists. The descriptive narrative brings both the characters and setting to life which made me feel immersed in the story.

Rene had been battling the demons in his head for three years since his twin sister, Cherise, was murdered. After the latest murder he begins to feel a presence around him. Glimpses of an otherworldly woman with purple hair start to plague Rene. Belladonna has spent years preparing and planning to find and destroy the hunters who killed her family. Rene is the key to all her plans.

This was my first necromancer book and it didn’t disappoint. I enjoyed the storyline and that it was dual POV. The story flowed well. Overall was a quick and easy read. This was also my first time reading Sinister Styx and I will definitely be reading more.

Once I started this book it was hard for me to put it down. In this book you will read from the POV of multiple characters. The main character is Rene who is just trying to seek justice for his twin sister. Along the way Rene’s path crosses with Belladona who has big plans for Rene. They form an unusual relationship and help each other reach their end goals. Rene also discovers that all of the paranormal beings from the fairy tails are real. Pixies, witches, vampires, etc. Rene and Belladona end up discovering a major bombshell of information that turns Rene’s world upside down, yet helps him find closure. If you like all things paranormal as well as a good mystery, this is the book for you.
