A continuance of Scott and Zelda’s story but in a different fashion. Logan holds a grudge against Angel because of what happened to his sister, what he does will surprise you. Rionna is not her self and no one understands why, except for Scott who again tries to help solve the mystery of what happened. Another great story in the series about the paranormal and psychic gifts. Excited to see what’s next.

Logan and Angel are both very relatable characters. Logan wants his little sister back, and blames Angel. Logan is the good and loyal big brother. Angel always seems to end up with the short end of the stick. Everybody has felt down on their luck, like the world is against you. If you want to read a book with a great story line, plot twists, and life-changing characters, this is the book for you.

Sleeping Angel (Soul Connection, #2)Sleeping Angel by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sleeping Angel is the second book in the series, the author once again is able to tie up all the mystery, drama, emotion, and love into a wonderful read. From the first book we still have Scott who after being able to see ghosts must help his ex-girlfriend figure out what happened to her.

Logan, your typical 24 year old, who has been through more grief in his short lifespan than most do for their entire lives. His sister was murdered, his girlfriend cheated on him and he has blindly turned to alcohol to feel something. Unfortunately that takes his life down a dangerous spiral as he wakes up in the hospital with no memories of what he’s done but with everyone blaming him for killing Angel. Angel just so happens to be the person Logan blames for the death of his sister, after all she seemed too caught up in herself to catch what was going on. However, Angel isn’t quite dead, at least her soul isn’t. She discovers she is now living in someone else’s body with no recollection or idea of how that happened. Turning to Scott, her ex-boyfriend, for help to discover why this happened and what to do next. Is Scott enough to help her? Can everyone figure out the true story so they can retain some semblance of their lives and move through the guilt of the past? Or has too much damage been done that none of them will make it out unscathed? If you haven’t read the first book you definitely should as it ties the characters together more easily into the storyline! This was another knock out of the park by Ms. Barrett and I look forward to the journey her other books will take me down!

My goodness, this was a good read. Even more heart-wrenching, we see Zelda and Scott and more of the ghosts. I enjoyed this book even more than I did the first book. More, mystery and suspense. Ms. Barrett is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I really enjoyed getting to know Angel. My heart broke for both her and Logan. The anticipation for reading the next book in the series is very high.

If you enjoyed book 1, you will definitely enjoy this one as well! It continues with our favorite characters from Peaceful Slumber, Scott and Zelda, but follows new characters this time around. While you don’t have to read the first book to follow this one, it definitely adds to it. Like the first, there are many twists and turns that you won’t see coming! It’s another enjoyable read that I would highly recommend!

Logan and Angel are intertwined by 1 devastating death, and 1 tragic accident. When Logan’s sister is killed Angel is able to identify the accused. However his anger and grief have taken an immense toll and in Logan’s eyes her lack of intervention and then her length of silence before coming forth makes her just as guilty and puts her as a direct target for his hatred. As she is celebrating her birthday a year later she has an encounter with an angry, drunken Logan and its what causes her tragic accident, and also what becomes the start of her spiritual journey as someone else. As the story unfolds it becomes a journey of life altering experiences that show everything truly happens for a reason.
This is my first read by Ms. Barrett, and it took me by surprise. This paranormal tale was quite original and quite thought provoking. The author takes you on an emotional roller coaster with her unique cast of characters as they try to overcome guilt, grief, addiction, and forgiveness. You will become entangled within their lives in both life and death, and its a very good reminder of the importance of taking those extra moments to slow down.

Yet another emotional roller coaster, Sleeping Angel by Nikki Lynn Barrett is the second book in the Soul Connection series and I flew through it just as quick as the first one! I am glad that I started it as soon as I finished the first one, it certainly didn’t disappoint!

The book was a bit different from the first one, but the story that Barrett has written in the story about Logan and Angel is just as intriguing as this one. I was excited to see Scott and Zelda make an appearance in the novel, as I was very much hoping for a continuation in their story. I am excited to see what the next book in the series will entail, but after reading these two know it will be very well-written!

This book is different from the first one in style, but we do find ourselves back in Payson, Arizona with familiar characters. The first book in this series does not need to be read in order to fully jump into this book, but it’s always fun having back stories of side characters.
Logan is one of those characters that has a lot of room for growth and it’s hard to feel much for him other than pity and frustration in the beginning; however, as his story unravels and we get to know him better, it gets easier to relate to him. I think Angel helps tremendously with that. If you have read the first book, you had a slight introduction to Angel as a friend of Scott, the man who can communicate with ghosts.
An accident on Angel’s birthday, leads to Angel waking up in the body of someone else while her body remains stuck in a coma. She’ll need help from her friend Scott, Logan – the guy who has relentlessly picked on her the last two years, and the friends of the body she’s inhabiting to unwind the mystery of who she is now and how she can get back into her own body.
I really enjoy the way Nikki Lynn Barrett writes about grief, trauma, addiction, and mental health issues. She really touches on taking care of yourself to make life better. It’s beautiful.

Sleeping Angel (Soul Connection Book 2) by Nikki Lynn Barrett

Sleeping Angel is the second book in the Soul Connection Series by Nikki Lynn Barrett. This is a Paranormal Romance that is packed with mystery, suspense, anger, grief , ghosts . Although this can be read as a standalone I do however recommend reading the first book to get to know the characters. This is my favorite yet. I found myself lost in the pages while on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was going to happen next. This is Logan and Angel’s story. Both of the have experienced something tragic. Logan lost his little sister and Andi and he has become a very angry drunk. She witnessed something she should have spoken up about sooner than she did. They both have anger and regret. What happens when he wakes up in the hospital and is the reason why Angel is now in someone else’s body. Find out what happens next in this emotional rollercoaster ride that the twists and turns will have you turning the pages to see what happens next. I highly recommend reading this book and I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Another page turner by Nikki Lynn Barrett. Logan is suffering after the death of his sister. He blames Angel. After a night of too much drinking, Logan does something bad, but he doesn’t remember what. And Angel is not herself. Scott, her ex boyfriend, tries to help her figure out what is going on. Will the truth come out before it’s too late?
Another emotional roller coaster and definitely a page turner.

Sleeping Angel (Soul Connection, #2)Sleeping Angel by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sleeping Angel (Soul Connection Book 2) by Nikki Lynn Barrett presents so much romance and drama ready to unfold. The paranormal is a nice bonus in this love story. Ghost, this story has it all and so much more.

There was just one terrible death. Two souls wracked with remorse. They haven’t been able to connect because of years of anguish and remorse. Until one night, when an accident occurs, it completely changes everything.

He is buzzed. Angry. At the age of twenty-four, that’s him. He had no intention of becoming this guy, but the murder of my sister had an impact on him. He holds himself responsible, but he also holds Angel responsible. His sister died as a result of her silence. One night, his anguish takes a new turn. He is informed of his actions when he wakes up in the hospital. Everyone believes he attempted to murder Angel on purpose. But he didn’t mean to hit her, and he has no recollection of the incident. Her fate is now in her hands, and he must accept responsibility for what he has done. Rionna, his first love, provides him with comfort. But there are aspects of her that he does not comprehend. Something isn’t quite right here.

Guilt is a terrible feeling to have. From one life-changing experience to the next. She’s the girl that seems to be at the wrong place at the wrong moment all of the time. She is haunted by the past, and She is unsure about the future. She fantasized about transforming into someone else and deleting her existence. Her fantasy is going to become a reality. She assumed she would die in the accident, but she discovers she is in the body of a stranger.’

I loved every page of it. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Sleeping Angel by Nikki Lynn Barrett is the second story in the Soul Connection Series. Though I would recommend reading the first book, it is not necessary. (It’s just really good).

Wow. Just wow. This book is an emotional rollercoaster. Logan loses his sister and blames himself and Angel. Angel gave up information that lead to the arrest of the people responsible, but it’s not good enough for Logan. Angel blames herself as much as Logan does, but that doesn’t matter.

Now she has had an accident and wakes up in someone else’s body. Can Angel figure out what happened and get back to her body before it is too late?

Can I just say, I loved this book. There are so many twists, turns and murder mystery. My heart breaks for Logan, whom loses his sister, Andi, by murder and drowns himself in alcohol. Everything changes when Logan blames Angel for not preventing Andi’s murder and not coming forward with the events that takes place and Logan hits Angel with his car. Was it an accident or attempted murder? I also love that it ties in book one characters of Scott and Zelda. This is a great read if you love mystery, secrets and ghosts. Sleeping Angel (Soul Connection Book 2)Sleeping Angel by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I give Sleeping Angel (Soul Connection Book 2) by Nikki Lynn Barrett, 4 stars.

I started this book thinking it seemed predictable and I knew what was going to happen. I could not have been more wrong! The story is so original, there is no way you will guess what is going on. I was so intrigued about the concepts in this book of souls and such. I cannot elaborate more without possibly giving things away, but I will say that I stopped and thought twice in some sections. The characters are great, too. All of them really grow throughout this book, not just the main ones. Plus you will see some from book one if you read it as well as a whole new cast of characters.

This book has romance, tragic grief, and the paranormal tossed in to the mix. It is a very powerful story that I could not put down. I believe it can be read as a standalone and I highly recommend it.

This book will take you on an emotional roller-coaster. You can read this one as a standalone but it is my suggestion that you read the books in order for a better back story of some of the characters. We get to meet new characters in this story and have returning characters. This story kept me wondering what was going to happen next, it seemed to keep adding more questions and twists and turns as I read. I definitely had a hard time putting this book down. The paranormal elements in this book were intriguing and unique. My heart ached for some of the characters in this book. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I have enjoyed every book I have read by this author and I am sure I will continue to do so. I highly recommend this book.

Sleeping Angel (Soul Connection, #2)Sleeping Angel by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Angel and Logan are two young people with a lot of guilt over one other young person, the death of Logan’s sister. Logan blames Angel for not coming forward with some information sooner and he also blames himself for not heeding the signals and seeing what was right in front of him. Angel blames herself for the same thing, she didn’t take notice of a situation which felt a little off, she feels she was selfish and it was only when someone asked her a question two years later that she realised she should come forward, but when she does, her apology to Logan goes down in flames and he dogs her every movement after that and makes her life a living hell. Another year down the line and it is the anniversary of his sisters birthday and Logan does what the same as every year, gets drunk, angry and accusatory, he goes to Angel’s house and shouts abuse at her before being taken home, Angel is trying to celebrate her birthday when he shows up, but becomes completely overwhelmed and goes outside for some air, but all of a sudden she sees headlights and then is out of her body and nobody can see or hear her, apart from one person who insists that she goes back into her own body, however, as she does, she sees a flash of light and then nothing.

The next day Angel wakes up, but in somewhere she doesn’t recognise, she is not in a hospital where she expects to be after what she saw, but when she looks in the mirror, it is not her looking back, it is someone with blue hair and a nose ring and she has a roommate she has no idea the name of, thinking that she has the hangover from hell and trying not to let on she has no idea who she is, she is eventually taken to the hospital to be checked over. When she arrives there, she decides to go and look for herself instead, but finds that her body is surrounded by too many people and hasn’t woken up, but she does run into Logan, this is how she finds out she is in his ex-girlfriend Rionna’s body and that just causes more questions than answers. Finally she finds the one person she knows can help her untangle this mess and hopes that she can work with them to solve the mystery.

Meanwhile, Logan has woken up in the hospital with no memory of what happened after he was taken home by two people who were at the party he crashed, he remembers going to bed to sleep it off, but when he is told that he was behind the wheel, drunk out of his mind and that he ran over Angel outside her home, he realises just what a mess he is in. As he comes to and is treated for his head wound, the police come into his room and tell him that he will be arrested on multiple charges as soon as he is released from the hospital, however, the severity of the punishment will all depend on whether Angel wakes up from the coma she is currently in. Logan is torn in two by what he has done and accepts all the punishments he is given, however, when the alcohol withdrawal hits him, he feels like death would be preferable to the pain, spasms, nausea and hallucinations he is experiencing.

Will Angel be able to figure out Rionna’s life so that she can work out how to get back to herself, or will fate intervene and leave more questions than answers for her? Will Logan be able to turn over a new leaf, or will the downward spiral he was experiencing before begin again? What ties Logan, Angel and Rionna together and how did the body swap happen in the first place? This is a story of loss, grief, heartbreak and secrets with a tangled web of connections which need to be unraveled before the mystery can be solved.

I remember reading Peaceful Slumber a LONG time ago and while the details are vague in my memory now, I remember being blown away. When I found out the book is actually part of a series, I couldn’t be more excited. My only complaint after reading Sleeping Angel is that I wish I had reread Peaceful Slumber first. There were times that I just wished I remembered more about the characters but this didn’t really impact my love for the book overall. There’s not much I can say that doesn’t give the story away but I will say this book is unlike anything I have ever read before. It is unique, at times emotional and even a bit funny. The characters are lovable, even when you think they’re not. If you haven’t read Nikki Lynn Barrett yet, you’re missing out on a talented storyteller. I can’t wait to read more of this soul connections series!

Nikki Lynn Barrett does it again, Sleeping Angel is just as amazing as Peaceful Slumber was. Once again Ms. Barrett takes us on emotional roller coaster ride, capturing her readers from page 1. This book has literally everything that a reader could possibly want from love, hate, joy, fear, sadness, and more, Ms. Barrett will have you not wanting to put it down. I felt so many emotions in reading this story that I cried multiple times and had chills going down my spine while reading this novel. Just like her other novels Ms. Barrett’s characters have so much depth, and description you can’t help but fall in love with their stories. I have read several of Ms. Barret’s novels and loved them all, but after reading Sleeping Angel I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.

Sleeping Angel (Soul Connection #2) by Nikki Lynn Barrett

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by Barrett, but it is my first book in the Soul Connection Series. Barrett has yet again captured my attention. Sleeping Angel had me hooked from the start.

Logan is the older brother most of us wish we could have/had. He treats his sister the way every man should treat a woman. Then his world comes crashing down. His sister is dead. Murdered. The quote I chose for Logan is: “You could have saved her, had you paid attention. You’re selfish! How dare you come apologize to me! I’ll show you sorry!”

Angel watched it happen. Watched as her friend and Logan’s little sister was murdered. She comes forward after Andi is buried and says she saw it happen. She blames herself, but then something happens. She is in someone else’s body. The quote I chose for Angel is: “M-m … Rionna’s roommate. She’s dead.”

Highly recommended for Paranormal Ghost lovers.

Scott and Zelda are again involved in a mystery. Arriving at a friend’s party, they witness a horrific accident that sets off a chain of events that will change the lives of Angel and Logan. The plot keeps you on your toes as there are many twists that will have you guessing about what’s going on. The characters have personalities that feel so real and human due to their flaws. A little paranormal with some reincarnation, romance, murder, and some comedy just makes this book a must read. I can’t give too much away but you have GOT TO read this. I love this author. New fan for life her.

Sleeping Angel by Nikki Lynn Barrett is book two of the Soul Connection Series. I wasn’t sure if I was going to get into this book as it’s a little more paranormal than I usually go for but I was pleasantly surprised!

Logan lost his little sister Andi and everything has seems to spiral out of control for him from there. His guilt and his hate for Angel eat him up. If only he could have saved her. Angel knows about Logan’s hate for her. She feels enough self inflicted guilt she can’t really blame him for his anger. The night of Angel’s birthday everything changes. Will Angel and Logan be able to move passed all their pain?

I couldn’t put this book down! I had to keep reading to find out what was going to happen next. The suspense was intense. I was really rooting for Angel and Logan. I could relate to Logan’s pain even though I thought he was punishing Angel a little too harshly. I really enjoyed this book even though I was hesitant about it at first.

I have read many books by this author and have enjoyed all of them. I especially loved the first book in this series and was super excited about this one as I was left with a few questions at the end of the first. It was awesome getting back to Scott and Zelda and I would have loved more of their story in this book. In saying that I didn’t fall into this one quite as deep as I did the first. It still had all of the amazing writing I’ve come to expect from a book by this author but this one had me confused most of the time. There are a lot of moving parts and trying to keep up was a challenge. It took me a bit to finish it as it was quite long. I did love the mystery and never knowing what secret would be revealed next. It was just a bit complicated trying to keep the characters straight and I did have to go back every now and then to get back on pace. Logan and Angel were strong characters and I did love both of them.

The ending was awesome and helped clear up some of the confusion, but not all of it. I love this author and will read anything she comes out with, this one was just not one of my favorites although I did enjoy most of it.

Sleeping Angel (Soul Connection, #2)Sleeping Angel by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second book in the Soul Connection series and wow what a book. The author does an amazing job of mixing true hard situations such as grief and adding some paranormal influence. It follows the story of 2 people Logan And Angel.

Logan is suffering with unbearable grief after finding out his sister was murdered. Full of anger and regret he turns to alcohol to numb the pain. As well as blaming himself he also blames the one person who could have helped but didn’t, Angel.

Angel came forward with her information which lead to the killers being caught however she is now full of guilt and remorse over not stepping in at the time. Added to her guilt is the hatred from Logan.

Things change however when Logan runs over Angel now Angels spirit is in a fight to return back to her body before its too late.

All through the book we are taken through a journey of grief and realising that even in death our loved ones never really leave us. After all the heartache can something good come from this experience for both Angel and Logan?
