Not only does the lawyer fall in love with one of her clients, but she isn’t Irish, a requirement of his father. Can they overcome the hurdles put in their way? Will a common enemy help them to follow their hearts? I couldn’t put this book down and read it in one sitting. I fell in love with the characters and was rooting them on the whole way. Definitely getting the next book to read.

Sons of Sindicato is the prequel in the Sons of Sindicato series by Cam Johns and Sonya Jesus. It was a very quick read, but boy did it pack a punch. I was hooked from page one!
Braelynn is a criminal defense attorney at a high profile law firm that works with known members of the mafia. But Braelynn has a couple of secrets that could destroy everything.
Seth is one of the sons of the Sindicato. He is implusive and hot headed and his dad, the leader of the Sindicato doesn’t approve.
This prequel is full of secrets, love, and strategy. And leads beautifully right into the first full novel of the series!

This was the first book I’ve read by Sonya Jesus and Cam John. It certainly will not be the last. This story was a whirl wind of murder, mafia, love, and family. The story centers around a beautiful love between Braelynn Shaw and Seth Giordano. Shaw showed that she is not one to be messed with. The strong and powerful lawyer that can protect herself. What more could you want? Oh yeah! Add in a sexy, alpha, protector Seth then you have a force that can shake the world. It had me on the edge of my seat the entire time and I cannot wait till the next book!

This is my second book by Sonya Jesus and my first book by Cam Johns. Sons of Sindicato has romance, murder, suspense, and so much more. For only 108 pages, it packs one heck of a punch. Braelynn is a strong female character, wish sass, that holds her own against it seems just about anybody. Seth is the kind of man you want by your side, strong, masculine, and a protector. These two can be an absolute powerhouse and I can’t wait to see what they do next. The secondary characters, bring a family feel, and as an Italian woman myself I was riveted by the pages. If you like romantic suspense, with some mayhem and murder, you will love this book.

This is the first book I’ve read by Jesus and John’s. Sons of Sindicato is a great short steamy read and will leave you wanting more.
Braelynn is a lawyer and is trying to make Partner. When things go south with one of the partners; things really go south. She isn’t afraid of what’s going to happen as long as she has her secret love standing behind her. The quote I chose for Braelynn is: “What are you nuts! You don’t put sauce on chicken cutlets.”
Seth is one of the sons of the Head of Sindicato. He’s screwing the help which is a big no in his dad’s world. When he walks into a lawyers office things change. The quote I chose for Seth is:“I said f-ing stop! Wexler got what he deserved. I would have done it myself if I walked in on him doing something to you.”
Highly recommended for Dark Romantic Suspense lovers.

This is a super quick read. While I enjoy these shorter romps I always find myself want more information. I didn’t feel too much of a connection between Seth and Shaw. They are already in a secret relationship when we meet them. This does have some action and possible triggers for some. Being it’s shorter everything moves as a faster pace. We do get to meet his siblings and father. Gia is a wonder to me. Dane seems harsher than Seth. But what is done for family and in the name of love astounds me.
Overall this one is almost too short for me. I wanted more info on the two main players.

This was a gripping read from start to finish. The characters are well written and you can’t help but feel a connection.

I really don’t get on well with stories that have unbelievable relationships, or relationship development that feels too quick or forced. As such, I found this story a little bit difficult to get into and as it isn’t my sort of thing, I felt like it was lost on me. It is well written though, even if I don’t like the story being told I can appreciate the talent of the person who is telling it and Johns and Jesus write very well, their combined styles seamless. Braelynn Shaw is a hotshot lawyer who is awesome at her job, but she has a bit of secret that she can’t tell anyone, as this may affect her career path, and is close to being made partner she does not want to jeopardize it. Seth Giordano is her dirty little secret, both her boyfriend and the youngest son of the Sindicato, a nice harmless group of mob families. When Braelynn crosses an ethical and moral line Seth steps in to help her, meaning that their closely kept secret has to be brought out into the open, which spells a problem as the mob families, surprise surprise, aren’t the most accepting. Who’d have thunk it ay? What’s that old adage though, the enemy of my enemy is my friend? Well, when a common enemy rear their ugly head then the families seem to forget years of tradition and begrudgingly accept their relationship and the strong-willed Braelynn. I don’t really know much about mob families, but I found their quick acceptance of the relationship a little hard to swallow, just felt too quick especially considering the emphasis on years of tradition and whatnot. As I said before this is not my type of tale and as such, I found it difficult to fully immerse myself in the story and in the plight of the characters. Still Johns and Jesus (sounds almost biblical) are competent writers and obviously work very well together. Would recommend this to anyone that loves a good dose of angst with their romance.

I loved this novella, I really enjoyed how it was based on the wrong side of the law, with the Mafia family being the main characters. Seth is the son of the Mafia boss, Braelynn is the criminal attorney who saved him from going to prison, and t1hey have been in a secret relationship ever since. Seth believes his father would disapprove of her skin colour and not being Italian, whilst Braelynn is worried that sleeping with a client could cause her lose the career she’sworked so hard for. When Braelynn needs Seth’s help, it becomes time to lay everything out and make some tough decisions about their future. There was a lot going on in this story and I really enjoyed how it all tied in together. It gives a bit of an insight into how the Giordano family maintain their status. The interaction between Seth and his brother Dane was really entertaining to read and brought some light humour to the story. This is a great introduction to the series and I definitely want to read the next book in the series to see what happens to them all next.

I was pulled right in from the beginning. Braelynn gets some great news that she can’t wait to celebrate with her secret love. But first she has to confront a demon in her life, when she does things take a scary twist.
Seth has been seeing Braelynn secretly for more than one reason. But when she needs his help his protective side comes out and the secret is no more.
Will he be able to help Braelynn? Will they be able to continue their relationship?
Overall this was a great thrilling read. My heart went out to Braelynn and what she went through. I loved how protective Seth was and how supportive he was. Full of drama and both sides of the law with a dash of family drama is not how Braelynn expected to celebrate her new promotion to law partner. Sons of Sindicato is the start of an exciting new mafia series by Cam Johns and Sonya Jesus. I have loved these authors books, individually, so when they came together for a collaboration it was a given that I would be diving in asap. This is a very short, novella length taste of what’s to come. I devoured this story in my lunch break and was left wanting more- in a good way. I would have loved to read a longer, fuller version of this story so I could immerse myself in it for longer- and get more of Braelynn and Seth’s story. But the book did a great job of whetting my appetite for the rest of the series and I can’t wait to get my hands on book two. So, if you love mafia stories, romantic suspense on the darker side- with fantastic characters, and an intriguing and well-written storyline- then this is definitely a book you will want to read! Oh My Gosh! What a story this was and I am so, so excited for the next book now – I cannot wait! The writing for this novella was completely flawless- it’s impossible to tell (in my opinion) that it is written by two authors, their writing style complement each other perfectly. I’ve read books by both of these authors so I knew I would be in for a good read and whilst this might only be a novella it absolutely packs a punch – it’s definitely up there with my favourite reads of 2021! I loved the characters and I cannot wait to read more about them! Braelynn was an amazing female lead, such a wonderful strength about her even though she still had her vulnerabilities. I will be anxiously awaiting the next book in the series – I cannot wait!!!

Sons of Sindicato is a dark romance between a lawyer and a high profile member of a crime family. It was written by Sonya Jesus and Cam Johns. A fascinating literary combination. Murder, mystery and mayhem follow this pair from the beginning. This is not a long story, but it lacks nothing. It has intensity, attraction, distrust, prejudice, uncertainty and accusation. The main characters had this incredible and charismatic connection. By all accounts, their love was not meant to be. Loyalty was questioned. Self reflection was ever present. But while everything seemed against them, they made it work. Braelynn and Seth were a formidable couple that had a lot of hurdles to overcome before they could enjoy their happy ever after. A fantastic short story that was electric and alluring. 4 stars.

This novella is a great start to a new series. I love how you get the backstory on the characters especially the female character, Braelynn. Novella is a quick read, but definitely worth it. Love the story with suspense, secrets and the mafia family including forbidden love. This novella did not disappoint! It may have been a quick read but I am impressed with how much Sonya Jesus and Cam Johns fit in this story. The blurb had me intrigued. Attorney involved in a murder? Attorney in love with someone in the Mafia? I started reading and between the steamy romance between Seth and Braelynn and the Mafia action I didn’t stop until The End.

Sons of Sindicato: Seth and Shaw by Cam Johns & Sonya Jesus is a awesome first book in a series!! Braelynn Shaw’s character shines through from the beginning. She is excited for her new role but something happens that changes things and her life seems to be pointing in a different direction. Seth finds Shaw in a situation he never expected. His strength shines through to help Shaw when she needs it most. Overall, the interaction between the characters kept me wanting to find out more! I really enjoyed reading this book and I will definitely be checking out other books written by these authors.

FOUR STARS Forbidden Mafia Romance. Braelynn is a defense attorney and one of her biggest clients is the Giordano Family, the heads of the Sindicato. This is how she met Seth who no only being a client is now her lover. Which is breaking the rules on so many levels. I do need to through a trigger warning here. There are acts of attempted rape and murder as well as sexual encounters throughout this book. This book is good and will draw you in and hold you. The things this couple has to go through and do for one another will shock you. KLH

Cam Johns and Sonya Jesus are dynamite when they team up. This short novella was jammed to the rim with all the goodies I love in a thriller romantic read. I loved how fast this read but still made me feel as if I had a full length read when I finished, and that I had it stick with me for a very long long time. I loved Braelynn, a kickbutt lawyer with her own skeletons in the closet. She has a secret that she hides well though and things may get complicated when her life collides with Seth, a mafia boss that will make you drool. They are fabulous characters separate but together they ignite your kindle as you read. I can’t wait to see what will come next from these two.

Braelynne Shaw is a woman with a powerful job, she is an attorney at law and is one step away from partner, but she has secrets from everyone apart from one person at work who she trusts and one day, she decides to clear the air around one of these secrets, so she goes to see the other person involved, but instead of being her usual strong self, the same thing starts to happen all over again, but this time, she snaps back to reality and acts on impulse and in self defense, but unable to stop herself, Braelynn gives in to more animal urges and goes one step further and commits a murder and now she doesn’t know what to do. Seth Giordano is the youngest son of a the Sindicato, a group of mob families who is also in an unethical but loving relationship with his lawyer and when he is sent in to see one of her coworkers, he stumbles into his girlfriend covered in blood in the office of the man he came to see and realising the situation, he calls in the reinforcements.
Once Brealynn realises what she has done, she is glad Seth is going to help her, but when her crime means that they both have to come clean with his family, but they are all about tradition and Braelynn is the opposite of all that, but when a mutual enemy is discovered and the ability to do something about it comes knocking, will Braelynn and Seth’s relationship survive the barriers put up between them, or will love conquer all? Life is never as simple as it seems and this story will have you joining the dots and following the winding road until it’s conclusion.

I honestly was concerned about reading this book because I normally wouldn’t consider “the mob” as my reading genre. But gosh am I glad that I picked it up. I was immediately enthralled in this suspenseful, interracial love story. I was shocked to realize that I was able to enjoy this book without a lot of mob family knowledge and found myself rooting for them in the end. There are a lot of twists and turns in the plot that will keep you so intrigued and turning the pages faster than you can read them. Or at least it did for me. This was a book I almost found myself wanting to read the last chapter to find out what happened and then reading the middle sections to know how they got there. But I didn’t give into that temptation. And I am glad that I didn’t. Please take the opportunity to pick up this book and read it. I think that you will be happy that you did.
