Emotional Romance

Nothing compares to Zeldas and Scott’s story. The author is truly talented at story telling, when you read these books you cant help but to be dragged straight into the story. This book especially was an emotional ride. I cried and cried for Scott and Zelda . I can’t wait to read more by this author.

Snowfall Serenade is the 3rd book in the Soul Connection series by Nikki Lynn Barrett. It needs to be read in order, as there is a lot of connections. I have read the other 2 and still didn’t recall a lot of what was referenced. I should have re-read them to refresh my memory. These books are so creative and well written. I love all the characters and their friendships are perfect. Scott is so realistic, because he can be the sweetest guy ever, or a total dick, when he cracks under pressure. It is genuine and believable based on what he deals with on a daily. This book is full of so much emotion and hard situations. I like that it bounces between point of views, so we can see the same story from everyone’s perspective. I liked that everything was not revealed in the beginning, but unfolded as the story went along. I really struggled reading Deena’s chapters, because they were very cryptic and maddening. But it added to the suspense and emotions felt while reading this book. Highly recommend this series, even if you don’t normally read paranormal.

This book is heart wrenching. Poor Zelda and Scott. As excited as I was to read more about their story and their lives together since the first book, this one is so sad that it really tugs at the heartstrings. They have to deal with so much heartbreak and loss, more than anyone should ever have to deal with in a lifetime. Every time I thought that things were beginning to look up for them there was another cruel twist of fate and more obstacles in their path. Be prepared because this book will definitely take you on an emotional roller coaster of a ride but it’s worth it in the end because this is truly an amazing book.

Wow! This book packs an emotional wallop! I feel like I’ve had my own heartbroken with the conclusion of Scott and Zelda’s story. These two have been through the wringer. Little Julianna tries so hard to help. I can’t even imagine what it would be like to talk to ghosts. What a terrific job with this book! The characters are familiar and like coming home to family and the story kind of just picks up from the first book. Then, as everything is going along, BAM!!! Plot twist! Well played, well played. Get out there and get yourself this series. One of recommended favorites of 2021.

Snowfall Serenade by Nikki Lynn Barrett is the third book in the Soul Connection series. For me you definitely need to have read the other books on this series before this one in order to fully enjoy it.
This book is such an emotional story. Your heart becomes thoroughly invested in the story and everything the characters go through. More than once I shed a few tears at this book, which I really think is testament as to how well the boom has been written. You really go on the journey with these characters, it is impossible not to.
This is such a brilliant series but this book is definitely favourite so far. I would highly recommend this series to everyone!

Boy, am I glad that I decided to read this book right away after the other books in the Soul Connection series! The third book in the series, Snowfall Serenade brought back the story of Scott and Zelda, which made me ecstatic and helped me read it that much quicker!

Just like the previous books in the series, each chapter in this book was an emotional roller coaster, and at the end of every chapter I wondered what would happen next. So many things had changed in the lives of Scott and Zelda since the first book, and it was interesting to watch where each chapter lead their story. I reached the end far too quickly and can’t wait to read another book in the series.

Yet another emotional roller coaster, Sleeping Angel by Nikki Lynn Barrett is the second book in the Soul Connection series and I flew through it just as quick as the first one! I am glad that I started it as soon as I finished the first one, it certainly didn’t disappoint!

The book was a bit different from the first one, but the story that Barrett has written in the story about Logan and Angel is just as intriguing as this one. I was excited to see Scott and Zelda make an appearance in the novel, as I was very much hoping for a continuation in their story. I am excited to see what the next book in the series will entail, but after reading these two know it will be very well-written!

Another perfect book to read during spooky season, Peaceful Slumber by Nikki Lynn Barrett, the first in the Soul Connection series, is a romantic ghost story that will pull in all readers. From the very beginning, the story is full of mystery and suspense, the reader wondering at the end of every chapter what will happen next.

The chemistry between Scott and Zelda is tangible as helps her to figure out what has happened to her. How did she die? Where did she come from? All of these questions and more are at the forefront of their minds throughout the book, making it a quick read as more questions arise as others are being answered.

This is the first book by Nikki Lynn Barrett that I have read, but I plan to read the next two books in the Soul Connections series right away, as I fell in love with the characters she has written and am excited to see what comes next in their stories!

Snowfall Serenade (Soul Connection, #3)Snowfall Serenade by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Zelda and Scott are back and as if life wasn’t complicated enough between marriage, parenting and the ghosts which only Scott can see, their life is complicated at best, but they are trying their best, but the ghosts especially are coming between them and Scott is overwhelmed with the amount surrounding him everyday and he feels like he is missing out on time with his family. Although they have things to work through, Scott and Zelda are faced with a life changing decision, one that will change their family forever and while they are trying to make it, Scott keeps being called away by the dead searching for closure, but one day the worst happens and Zelda is involved in a hit and run accident and because of her injuries, Scott has to make a decision bigger than any he has before, but which will change both of their lives forever.

When Zelda wakes up from surgery, Scott has to break the news of the choice he has made and the consequences of his decision and it almost breaks them, the grief they have known before is nothing compared to this and Zelda fears that this, as well as the stress they were already under is leading her to a place she never wanted to return to. As they are reeling from this unexpected change, they begin to think that maybe they can start to get a handle on life, however, things go from bad to worse when a particular ghost turns up, one whom they are both familiar with, but no-one more so than Scott.

A blast from Scott’s past whom he never thought he would see or hear from again, has reappeared in death, but has brought along a living, breathing child with them, a child which is Scott’s, a child from a time he wanted to forget, but he needed closure for. As Scott communicates with and works through all the turmoil around him, Zelda is also battling demons of her own and the one person she needs is the one person she is pushing away, but will they be able to work through all of the stress and turmoil in their lives together, or will it break the bond they have tried so hard to maintain? This is another fantastic book in this series where secrets are revealed when past and present collide to create a maelstrom of emotions, experiences and events which spin you on a wild ride as you go through everything along with Scott, Zelda and those around them as you follow along their path until its conclusion.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have been falling in love with the Soul Connection Series from Nikki Lynn Barrett from the very first book, but I do think that this one, Snowfall Serenade, has to be my favorite book so far. I would personally recommend reading these books in order for the full effect and enjoyment of the series. This one really sucked me in and I was completely taken away with the storyline. I felt this one a bit more closely maybe I don’t know, but it really just sucked me in and ripped my heart out at times. I may have even found myself choking up a few moments. The paranormal elements were done in a manner that was extremely believable and I find that extremely entertaining and difficult to do sometimes with paranormal novels lately. The character development is really on point in this one as well which is something I have seen grown with Ms. Barrett from the first book as well and I am loving it. I am so excited to see what the next book will bring us.

This is the third book in this series by this author I have read and let me just say…WOW! What a wave of emotions I am feeling. What a catharsis I just experienced. Since I had already read the previous two books in the series I had an idea of what I would be getting, but I had to put this book down many more times to get out the tissues and ugly cry. She can bring such detail into her books that you literally get the feeling you are the main character. And she does not disappoint in bring these stories to life. As with the previous two books I was hooked from the first chapter of the book, and I was sad when it ended because I wanted it to continue. Unfortunately, that’s the sad part about books. They grab hold of you and then leave you wanting more. This was no different. I will advise that while this could be read as a stand alone book I do feel that it would be best for the reader to read them in order. I think that will give you a better meaning and understanding of her stories. I highly recommend this book and this series, especially if you feel the need to free all your emotions.

This is the third book in the Soul Connection series. Nikki Lynn Barrett has done an incredible job telling these stories and I was thrilled to find out there are even more coming. If you haven’t read the first two books, I would recommend doing so. There is so much back story to be told.
I love paranormal books, and to be in a world that people help ghosts cross over is utterly wonderful for me. Scott and Zelda are introduced in book one, and this book continues their story. Ghosts, secrets, and a bucket of emotions are packed into this story. Have your box of Kleenex ready as you enter their world.

Snowfall Serenade was a really good read. I don’t think anything is going to come close to the magical, suspense filled treasure that was the first book but this was a great continuation of Zelda and Scott’s story. They go through trial after trial in this book, more than any couple should have to go through. This was an emotional, action packed book from the first chapter. This series is quickly becoming a favorite. I can’t wait to read the rest of the books Barrett is working on and planning for this series!

This is a beautiful story that shares the journey of Scott and Zelda. The story starts with a heart wrenching tragedy and difficult decision that Scott has to make. In the wake of the tragedy, Scott and Zelda find distance in their marriage and they are struggling to heal and find one another again. Add in Zelda’s mental illness and the fact that Scott and their daughter can not only see but talk to ghosts, and you have a rollercoaster of a journey! There were times where this story literally took my breath away. This is the third book in the series, and while I could follow along this fast paced story without getting lost and enjoy every step of the journey, I wish I would have some more of their background to really get to know and better understand the depth of their characters. I am going to go back and read the first two for sure!

Snowfall Serenade by Nikki Lynn Barrett a five-star read that you need to read. This is number three in the Soul Connection series, and you could read it as stand-alone, but honestly, I would recommend you read them all as they build the background, and you get to know everyone. Nikki Lynn Barrett shows us grief and loss in a true and honest manner, its not glossy and light, its raw. Zelda and Scott will keep you hooked, they have a battle on their hands and its unsure if they will make it to the other side. This has been a great series and I am so excited for number four.

wow! this is my first read by Nikki Barrett.
this story explores Scott and Zeldas journey, and the heart wrenching trauma they endure early in the story that leads them to barely be able to interact. As if that’s not enough Scott can see and speak to ghosts and they Interrupt him at all the wrong times which puts constant strain on his family. When he takes a trip away catastrophe strikes pushing Scott and Zelda to the brink and a secret will be revealed.
Will Scott and Zelda be able to save their relationship after tragedy, can they forgive one another and come together stronger?
This was a good story and a good 4.5 star read. it will keep you riveted.

Wow!! I don’t even know where to start with this one, honestly Snowfall Serenade is just simply phenomenal, a one-of-a-kind and truly original storyline, one that sticks with you well after the last page!

This is hands down a series that needs to be read in order, but that isn’t a problem since each book is amazing! This storyline is intense, heart-wrenching, touching, gripping and so very unexpected! I read it in one sitting as I couldn’t bring myself to stop reading, I was so consumed by these characters that I just couldn’t bear to put it down.

Another beautifully written story from this lovely author. I absolutely adore her books, they are so easy to read, beautifully detailed and have amazing characters you just can’t help but love reading about. Snowfall Serenade was a lovely story, I was completely lost in what I was reading and the characters, Scott and Zelda, I was completely captivated by their story. I could honestly feel every emotion that the author had clearly poured into Zelda and Scott’s situation, it was so emotional to read and I definitely shed a few tears!
This is the third book in this soul connections series and I think (although it’s a tough one) it may be my favourite! I think I would also recommend that this series is read in order to fully understand everything that happens in this third book.
Snowfall Serenade Is a beautifully written book and one that I would highly recommend.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What an emotional rollercoaster!! I had to put the book down and cry for a moment while reading this one. A few parts of this book are pretty heart wrenching to be honest.
We are back to the lives of Scott and Zelda Henderson in the third book of the Soul Connection series; however, the other characters we have met along the way are thankfully still with us. Oh boy, do we all need friends like Scott and Zelda have!! Unlike “Sleeping Angel”, I feel like this book does need the first two books in order to fully get the happenings and emotions of the story. So many emotions and they are definitely well written!! 😭
In this book, the Henderson family is struck by tragedy when Zelda gets into a car accident while pregnant. Not only does she lose the baby, but the damage was so severe they had to do an emergency hysterectomy – forever taking away the opportunity for her and Scott to make a baby together. Zelda and Scott wade through their grief, another major accident, mental illnesses, and the ever present unrelenting ghosts all the while trying to remain strong for each other and their daughter Julianna. Deep in the trenches of trying to keep their family from falling apart, Scott is contacted by someone from his past and the news they bring will change the Henderson family forever.
Once again, Nikki Lynn Barrett touches on grief and mental illness in such a strong and authentic way. It’s tragically relatable sometimes and when she wrote “it cuts deep” – it really does! I don’t normally do this, but this book should come with a trigger warning for grieving mothers. If you aren’t ready to be reminded of your own loss, wait a little while to read this; but read it when you are strong enough. It really is a beautiful book.

Sleeping Angel (Soul Connection, #2)Sleeping Angel by Nikki Lynn Barrett

This book is different from the first one in style, but we do find ourselves back in Payson, Arizona with familiar characters. The first book in this series does not need to be read in order to fully jump into this book, but it’s always fun having back stories of side characters.
Logan is one of those characters that has a lot of room for growth and it’s hard to feel much for him other than pity and frustration in the beginning; however, as his story unravels and we get to know him better, it gets easier to relate to him. I think Angel helps tremendously with that. If you have read the first book, you had a slight introduction to Angel as a friend of Scott, the man who can communicate with ghosts.
An accident on Angel’s birthday, leads to Angel waking up in the body of someone else while her body remains stuck in a coma. She’ll need help from her friend Scott, Logan – the guy who has relentlessly picked on her the last two years, and the friends of the body she’s inhabiting to unwind the mystery of who she is now and how she can get back into her own body.
I really enjoy the way Nikki Lynn Barrett writes about grief, trauma, addiction, and mental health issues. She really touches on taking care of yourself to make life better. It’s beautiful.

Scott is a young man that has the gift of being able to see and communicate with ghosts. While at a funeral for one of his few endeared family members, he makes contact with a young woman in a bloody wedding dress that has no memory of how she died or who she is. Despite not normally being willing to help the ghosts that come to him, he feels drawn to helping her figure out the mystery that was her life.
This book had a little bit of a slow start, but I was soon caught in trying to piece together the pieces to solve Zelda’s (aka Ghost Bride) life. I will admit that none of my predictions despite the love interests came true while reading this book. The end of this book had me on the edge of my seat for a moment and the plot twists in this book are commendable. Definitely a riveting read all in all.

Snowfall Serenade is book three in the Soul Connection series by Nikki Lynn Barrett. This story captivated me from the blurb. I was intrigued by the little taste the author gave of the content. It was very well written and sucked me in from the beginning. A lot of emotions unfolded throughout this book. A lot happened to Zelda and Scott during their time together. There was drama aplenty with secrets, life changing events and the inner struggle to cope with the new norm. This story was engaging and endearing. Hard to cope with moments and difficult feelings to deal with, Zelda did well to keep hold of reality. Scott had to deal with new abilities, secrets being unravelled and learning how to forgive. It was a tumultuous journey, but one that was fulfilling and a true delight to read. Author Barrett spun a masterful tale that seized my attention and left me with a warm and contented feeling. 4 stars

I enjoyed this paranormal romance story. This is an author I never hesitate to pick up. I enjoyed her writing skills and how her attention to details bring her stories to life. This book is no different. I was pulled in right from the beginning. It is a fast paced, how to put down story that has characters that are relatable and keeps the story engaging. This is the third book in this series which I highly suggest reading the previous two books to help your enhancement of this series. This is Zelda and Scott’s story. Theirs is one of secrets from the past and forgiveness. Between the voices in her head and Scott, she feels as if she is losing their battle. He has questions and no answers and keeps coming back to see if he can trust her again. What will happen to these two? What will fate have in store for them? They are great characters with great growth throughout the story. I also enjoyed the growth of the plot that kept me wanting to know what would happen next. Their chemistry is great and I found myself hoping they would find their happiness. This is a great story that is worth the pick up for sure. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Snowfall Serenade (Soul Connection #3) by Nikki Lynn Barrett. This is the 3rd book in the Soul Connection series and I have loved every one of them. I highly recommend reading the 1st two to learn who people are and to understand all that’s going on. This is Scott and Zelda’s story who we met in book 1. Scott was shot and almost died and can now see Ghosts as well as Zelda. Zelda is having trouble dealing with the fact that Scott is away chasing ghosts more than he’s home and with them having a young daughter and Zelda now being pregnant again she needs him home now more than ever. Communicating with these ghosts all the time is so consuming mentally and physically. When Scott has to make a life or death choice for Zelda things change for both of them. This is such a good paranormal romance. Will Zelda and Scott continue this life full of chasing ghosts or will they decide its taking too much from their real life. This book will keep you turning the pages all thru the night!

Snowfall Serenade (Soul Connection Book 3) by Nikki Lynn Barrett is another captivating paranormal romance story in this fantastic series. Nikki is a go to author for me and when I saw this book was out, I had to get it. Nikki has a way of telling a story that completely consumes you and the rest of the world fades away. I often get in trouble with people trying to talk to me and getting no response when I am lost in her narrative. Nikki has poured a lot of emotions within the story that makes you fall in love with these characters and makes your heart melt. I was so engrossed that putting the book down was not going to happen and before I knew it hours had passed.

I love paranormal and this has all the elements that made it a wonderful story. What with ghosts and mystery, a little drama and angst, a few secrets and romance what more could you ask for. This series is aptly named Soul Connection could not be more perfect.

Snowfall Serenade is the third book in the wonderful Soul Connection Series by Nikki Lynn Barrett. Having read the previous books and loving them as much as I did, I was quite excited when this third book hit my Kindle. I know I have said this many times before- but Ms. Barrett’s stories are very captivating, easily pulling me in and keeping me hooked right till the very end. She has a real talent for storytelling, and I can always count on her to deliver an engrossing, well written, and cleverly crafted story.
As with the other two books in the series, this is another paranormal romance, with a wonderful supernatural touch that gives this series that extra element of interest. With romance, ghosts, drama, angst, a little heartache, family, mystery, emotion, secrets, high stakes, and revelations- this story packs quite a lot between the covers.
As this story continues Scott and Zelda’s story, who we me back in book one, I highly recommend reading the other two books first before you start on this one. There is a lot of important information, backstory, and character details contained in the other books, that will really enhance your reading experience of this book.
I have loved Scott and Zelda right from the beginning of the series, through their story in book one, and then again as supporting characters in book two. It was great to get to continue their story in a bit of an unexpected way. I really felt for them through this story, there were a few tense and emotional moments that made my heart ache for them- and again I found myself completely invested in them and the outcome of their story.
With the little snippet at the end, I can’t wait to see what comes next!!

Thank you, Nikki Lynn Barrett!

Snowfall Serenade (Soul Connection, #3)Snowfall Serenade by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this book more than I can dare to say! I found it full of moving moments as well as a lot of emotions for myself surrounding the characters I read about! I loved the aspects of the ghosts that were added into the story, and they really added nicely, and the writing really made this book an very easy flow to read.

I was sucked in and entwined completely with this novel, it was so good. I loved how the two main characters could see ghosts and basically were gifted that they had to help them on their way, but is being let go really what all ghosts seem to want? Or sometimes does unfinished business mean something more than a human brain would think to consider?

Zelda and Scott could both see the ghosts and they I found sometimes viewed it as more of a burden, as it took time away from things they enjoyed such as each other and family time. The ghosts put a strain on what they have between them for sure, but with the ghosts needs and their past history of what they bring to the table, it makes things for Zelda and Scott more worst than off than they first appeared to me at first glance. All in all, I was truly captivated by this novel and was rooting for Zelda and Scott, they were beloved characters who deserved a happy story for sure. I loved the ghosts though, it made the story complicated for the characters sure at times, but I found their back stories had much appeal to read!

The story itself was moving and an easy flow to read, and it was one you really had to put your heart in to really feel what Zelda, Scott, as well as our ghost friends were feeling. It was beautiful and I am so glad I discovered this amazing author. Will be reading more of their work for sure, high recommendation!
