I’m one for young adult books and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The different perspective on each character gives you an insight on just what’s going on in a 13 year old’s mind. It reminded me very much when I was younger and wishing I had awesome friends like Vlad, Damien, Lily and the other misfits in the group. I had a good chuckle about the situations these kids got themselves in. I highly recommend if you need a good chuckle or want to remember being a preteen again.

Book Review: Southland Academy for Supernatural Youth
Authors: Sandra Tentler and Brook Tentler
FIVE STARS
This is a YA paranormal suspense. Not scary at all but more of an adventure/who-done-it thing. PERFECT read for a preteen or a young teenager (although I also loved it). Six new friends who have “developed” supernatural powers are going on a hunt to find the person who is taking things.
Really cool book and I hope to read more about Southland Academy.

This is nice little clean book. Deviln and Lily are both in for a big change.
I like how we got both POV from these characters. It’s very cute and nicely written. The plot was nice and easy to follow as well.

Southland Academy for Supernatural Youth by Sandra Tentler and Brooke Tentler is a paranormal academic novel. It has a comedic feature that makes it that more enjoyable.

At Southland Academy for Supernatural Youth, aka SASY, someone or something is causing havoc. Random things go missing from SASY students’ houses, and no one knows who is responsible or why. When Vlad’s priceless family ring vanishes and Devlin discovers the culprit, the six friends plan to investigate the clues left behind. Meet Vlad, the world’s most popular vampire’s son, is prone to mishaps and has a strong aversion to blood. Devlin, the werewolf shifter who can’t seem to complete his transformation. Lily, the daughter of a venerable warlock, has a nervous stutter that causes spells to backfire on her. Amber, a ferret shifter with a new friend that isn’t quite as it seems. Along the way, Fiona, the quick-witted snow owl shifter, and Sakana, the black-tip shark shifter, help out. Lily’s new familiar, Sheba, a hairless cat with a sassy attitude, still seems to vanish at inopportune moments, adding to the mystery. Might her unexpected presence in Lily’s life be connected to the missing item?

This book is a very light read. It can be perfect for middle-grader students. It can be great for people with a young heart. I enjoyed every page of this book.

Southland Academy for Supernatural Youth by Sandra Tentler and Brooke Tentler is a brilliantly written paranormal story that is a perfect book for early teens. With relatable characters, great world building and a strong storyline that draws you in from the start, the authors take you on a journey of discovery of friendships and abilities. I like that it is told from multiple POV as it makes for a deeper connection to the characters and the writing flows so easily that when it finished I just wanted more. I can’t wait to read the next release from this fantastic writing duo.
