Grand Slam (Ground Rule Book 3)Grand Slam by Bree Kraemer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bree Kraemer continues the Ground Rule series with this steamy romance. I love that we got to continue with our favorite baseball player’s romance, moving on to Heath and Grace’s story. I love that we start right where we left off with all of our favorite characters from the past books in the series, revisiting Celia and Kyle, Noah and Zara, and finally Heath and Grace. The characters are developed so well, they are just like everyday people, it gives you a peak into the life of a baseball player’s routine. They work hard to practice before the season starts and must maintain their physical fitness by having a consistent workout routine. I love that we get to see this side of their lives and how their lives are so busy that there is not always time to find their soul mates. This book was hands down a great read, I had a hard time putting it down from the second that I started reading it. The plot of the story is very obvious from the beginning, and the setting is portrayed so well, I can imagine all those adorable animals in the animal shelter where Grace manages, working herself beyond what even she can physically handle most days. In walks Heath, the baseball player who she cannot stand from the last book’s Star Auction, to help save her from her own family. Will Grace be grateful for Heath’s help, or will she continue to push him away, denying her feelings for him? This was such a great enemy to a lover’s romance, that keeps you intrigued right to the very last page!

Guarding the Crease (The Playmakers Series Hockey Romances Book 9) by G.K. Brady
Genre – Sports Romance

When Serena Lambert finds herself in danger, a knight in shining armor charges out of the darkness to her rescue. More shocking than his appearance in the nick of time is the knight himself: Wyatt Tompkins, the copper-haired star of her work nightmares. Just when the Colorado Blizzard’s PR director thought she was finally rid of the biggest pain in her butt and his outrageous tabloid shenanigans … But what’s the saying about bad pennies always turning up?

Being a famous NHL goaltender comes with a lot of perks, on and off the ice, and Wyatt has taken advantage of every single one. But when he becomes the NHL’s most infamous netminder, he loses more than the fringe benefits—he forfeits his roster spot. He wants back in. Sadly, the one person who can help him salvage his image and his livelihood has written him off, despite his heroics.

Wyatt needs Serena’s seriously savvy PR skills, and he’s not beyond leveraging the payback. He’s even willing to overlook her prickly exterior to get her on his side. After all, she’s already familiar with his brand of crazy … and it doesn’t hurt that she’s easy on the eyes. Oh yeah, he’d love to get her between the sheets, but what begins to intrigue him even more is taking a deep dive into her guarded psyche.

Serena is focused on launching her career into the stratosphere and making herself indispensable to the team—as soon as she overcomes a conniving coworker. Helping Wyatt will only steal time and energy from her goal, but she can’t deny that more sizzles beneath his roguish smile. Bit by excruciating bit, Serena peels back the layers to reveal the real heart beating beneath the goalie gear.

Oil and water don’t mix, though … they merely leave an oil slick. Can these two find the right blend and net their happily-ever-after?

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So this is book 3 in this AMAZING series and yes you could just read it but I highly recommend reading the entire series start to finish. I promise you won’t regret even a single second spent reading. There is so much happening in this story with these fantastic characters, a bit of jealousy, meddling parents, trust issues and fear just to name a few, that you will be completely captivated from start to finish. I absolutely LOVE Jeff and Kia. I may have finished the book but they still have my heart and always will.

This book is book three in this sports romance set. If you have not read the previous two books in the series, you should, as you will love those characters just as much as the ones in this story. But if you choose to not do that, you can read this as a stand alone. The author does a great job connecting the reader with the characters. This was a quick book and just the right amount of romance to keep you interested. Can’t wait to read more by this author.

Grand Slam (Ground Rule Book 3)Grand Slam by Bree Kraemer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love this series and I also love how it intertwines with other series the author has written. Grand Slam is here and the author didn’t disappoint. I love it. Not my favorite in the series but still lots of love.
What happens when privileged meets someone from the other side of the tracks. That’s this romance, with some baseball thrown in.
Heath and Grace claim to hate the other. But do they really? He’s a baseball player. She’s a director of the LA animal shelter who’s struggling to get by. What could either of these two have in common? More than they realize. The main question is will stubbornness and insecurities get in the way of happy ever after?
Grand Slam is the third book of a series, but holds its own as a standalone novel. It’s not necessary to read the predecessors, but I would. Makes it more fun. Brings on the joy of a new author. While you check this book out, I’m going to check out other books by this author. Enjoy!

Grand Slam (Ground Rule Book 3)Grand Slam by Bree Kraemer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Grand Slam is the third book in the Ground Rules series in which the subject matter centers around romance, and sports. Each book in the series can be read as a standalone but it’s nice to read them in order as a lot of the characters are in other books throughout the series, which I liked. This book is focused on Heath, who is a previous character, and grace whom we had not heard as much about. It’s definitely an enemies to lovers as they definitely rub each other the wrong way in the beginning and are super confused as to why they feel the way they do when they are together. This was another great addition to the series and I really enjoyed how the author pulled me into the characters lives and really made me care about what happened to them and I was definitely cheering them on in my mind as I was reading. I also really like how the endings are always pulled together, happy, and complete.

Grand Slam (Ground Rule Book 3)

Baseball, animals and love make for a good story in my opinion and this has all three of those qualities.

Heath starting pitcher for LA has a pretty good life. His team won the championship the previous year, has a great group of friends and family including a new baby in the family. But he realizes he is missing something or someone. Enter Grace and her animals at the animal shelter she is in charge of.

They didn’t start off on the right foot, but slowly things shifted much to her dismay. She didn’t want a relationship and fought it in every imaginable way.

They fit together in my opinion from the moment they met and I was hoping they would find a way to make it happen.

I have enjoyed all of the books I have read by Ms. Kraemer and have no doubt I will enjoy all of the future books I will read.

I LOVE Heath and Grace so much! It shouldn’t come as a surprise to me since I love this author, but this was such a cute sports romance. I was immediately pulled into the story and relating to the characters even though I’m far from athletic. Heath seems like the nice, respectful young man who lets Grace knows his feelings but doesn’t pressure her into making any decisions right away. You’ll feel the chemistry jump right off the pages. This is the third book in the series, and although it can be read as a standalone without confusion, you’ll be running back to grab the previous books anyways! I highly recommend reading Grand Slam even if sports aren’t your thing because this author knows how to pull you in.

This is a quick short read, possibly a beach read for those needing a good book for beach days!
Absolutely love this author and need to continue reading her series. Even though this book is number three in the series, this one can be considered stand alone. Heath appears to be a cocky, baseball player who ends up with a fixation on the one girl he can’t stop thinking about.Grace meets Heath at a work event and although he appears arrogant, she can’t stop thinking of him. Kraemer definitely has a way in her words to give characters depth, relationship connections and humor. I truly enjoyed the entire series!

Kia has made a comfortable life as a single mom with her son. Her son starts teeball and can’t stop talking about his coach Smitty. When Kia goes to pick up her son from practice, Smitty, is Kias one night stand from six years ago and the father of her son.
Professional ball player Jake smith, “Smitty” is giving back and enjoying coaching for the little league. A blast from the past shows up and he’s excited to reconnect with Kia. Until she drops a bomb on him.
Kia doesn’t trust that Jake is going to stick around and the “newness” wears off and Jake is trying to convince Kia that he’s playing for keeps, not just the novelty of being a dad and committed relationship.
Even though this a part of a series, you can read as a stand alone and not feel like you are missing anything as each book features a player. Great fun read

This book is a great second chance romance, secret baby romance that fits perfectly with the overall feel of this series. This book was a great story from the moment I started reading. I loved the characters in the book and how they discovered each other after so many years.
This book is one of my favourite tropes and the author has done it so well. I was engaged with the story and the characters and wanted them to figure everything out. It didn’t take me long to read this book and I thoroughly enjoyed it all.

This book was okay. Pros: it’s cute, it’s a sports romance

Cons: the chapters are titled with names like dual POV but it’s written in third person. If you’re going to have a dual POV book then make it from their POV. I also found it a little strange that the MMC was getting a hard on just from thinking about a girl in the room he was about to walk into when his sister was in labor.

All in all I’d give it a 3.5/5 stars. It’s a cute quick read.

The author Bree Kraemer did an amazing job on Zara Dewan’s character and on Noah Ashe. All that Zara wanted was fun in a non-relationship but love can bite you back when you ignore the fact that there is always one male or female who wants you but for a serious relationship. Bree gave these two characters life in a world where sometimes you can have both or nothing at all.
Zara is my type of girl who wants to be free with no strings attached but having someone to love you is not that bad at all… Love this book.

I was a little skeptical going into reading this book since I haven’t read the 2 preceding in the series. I was pleasantly surprised when I didn’t feel like I was missing anything by not having read the others. I loved the storyline and main characters. I do wish there was more background than there was, more detail in childhood and so on with both main characters. Yes you get the over all picture but I feel like it was glanced over and just got the bare minimum for the story to work. Kind of a spoiler but I didn’t like the drama with the brother as there wasn’t a whole lot of detail and it could have been better. Overall I really liked this book and finished it in about 5 hours or maybe a little less.

Sliding Into Home is the fourth book in the Playing for Keeps series by Lauren Fraser. It is a contemporary sports romance with a secret baby trope, angst, drama, chemistry, single mother, professional baseball player, jealousy, meddling, tension, and emotion.
This is Kia and Jeff’s story- who had an encounter six years earlier that left more than an impression on them. Now, secrets are about to come to light. What happens makes for a great read.
If you are looking for a quick and easy sports romance that has some emotion, angst, interesting characters, and drama- then this might be the book for you.
The series contains:
-Too Far (Book #1)
-Everything to Me (Book #2)
-Throwing the Curve (Book #3)
-Sliding Home (Book #4)
Looking forward to seeing what Ms. Fraser does next.
Happy Reading…

Sliding into Home is the third book in the Playing for Keeps series by Lauren Fraser. It is a second chance romance sports romance with a secret. It can be read as a standalone, but I encourage you to start at the beginning as the characters cross over.
The characters feel real. We get to see sides to them that are not all polished. As we go through the journey of their lives, we feel it all the pain and emotions that go with it.
With tension, doubts, jealousy, drama, trust issues, fears, meddling parents, anger and angst it is a smorgasbord of emotions. But let’s not forget the passion and chemistry.
This is Kia and Jeff’s story. Baseball is his life, but he is about to discover that there is one thing that may just change his mind. Max steals the show though.
Sliding into Home is told in multiple POV’s which gives us a deeper look at the character. It is a quick and engaging baseball read.
I look forward to the rest of the teams’ stories.

Sliding Into Home is Book Three in the Playing for Keeps Series. This story centers around the characters of Kia and Jeff. Six years ago, they met and hooked up for a one-night stand. Afterwards Kia discovered that she was pregnant, but she was unable to find Jeff to tell him. Jeff went onto to pursue a career in major league baseball which explains why he could not be found. Kia did not let this deter her from having a future and she moved forward with her life becoming a successful tattoo artist. She is determined, smart, hardworking, feisty, and a great mom to Max. When she runs into Jeff at her son’s baseball game she is surprised and knows that she needs to tell him that Max is his son. This is the 2nd book in the Ladies of the Links series. This is the first book I have read in the series and still really enjoyed it, however I will be going back to read the first book as I enjoyed this one. This is a second chance romance that had it all, attraction, chemistry, secrets, heartbreaks and past loves returning. The author does an amazing job with the characters, I loved the relationship between the friends and all the things they get up to. Their group reminded me of me and my friends which really made the characters relatable.
I really felt sorry for Ryan. He was left heartbroken when Christy disappeared from his life.

Fast forward and Christy is doing great. She had a job she loves, 2 beautiful children who she adores and things are going good. When a blast from her past shows up it turns her world upside down. Ryan was the love of her life and she was heartbroken when they parted but now he is back and all those old feelings resurface.
Do the couple stand any chance this time? Or will time and secrets yet to be revealed push them apart yet again?

Sliding into home isn’t easy, sometimes it’s a fight to stay on the bag.

Single mom, and tattoo artist, Kia Kamen finally has her act together. Sure, it might be an illusion, but it feels like a pretty good one. Until a chance encounter with Jeff Smith proves it was all a lie. She’s not even close to having it all together. But what’s a girl supposed to do when her one-night stand from six years ago shows up as her son’s T-ball coach? Blurt out he’s the father, of course.

As centerfielder for the San Diego Hawks, Jeff ‘Smitty’ Smith is used to being put in pressure situations. He just never expected that to mean needing to come in clutch as a dad. Being a father he could figure out, getting Kia to take a chance on them is proving to be a little more challenging. Thank god, he’s a competitive guy, who doesn’t know the meaning of the word quit.

But how does he convince Kia it’s not a game to him? This professional athlete is ready to play for keeps.

Just sweet and steamy. This is my first time reading Bree Kraemer and all I can say is that I am now a fan.

This is book 3 in the series but can be read as a standalone.

Heath is your all star pitcher who has had a great career but realizes he is at a standstill in his personal life. Well until he encounters Grace, someone he didn’t know he wanted until he realized he was lying to himself. Grace is from the part of time someone like Heath shouldn’t want someone from. Grace is smart, bossy and has goals.

This story was sweet, steamy and frustrating all in one for me. I absolutely love the character buildup and the banter between characters. You get a full story that is not rushed. You get front row seats to them being vulnerable, their relationships with their friends, family and pets. It is definitely a great read and I can’t wait to read more stories by this author.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First off, although you don’t need to read the other books in the series first, I highly recommend checking them out because the characters find themselves in this book as well!

This is Heath and Grace’s story. Heath is a famous baseball player and Grace runs an animal shelter. While they come from different worlds, they are not as different as some would believe them to be. These two spend a lot of time trying not to fall in love (and hate each other instead). Even when they make a go at things….it is a constant back and forth of them really being together. When both of them put their hearts on their line, and their true feelings out there, they just might have something amazing!

I really enjoyed these characters. There is more behind the love ’em and leave ’em facade that Heath puts on. And Grace finds her own self worth along the way. I could relate to her because my family is a lot like hers. I really enjoyed seeing the characters from the first two books make appearances. This series is very good and I can’t wait to read the next book when it comes out!!
