This is the second book in the Titans of Manhattan series, and this book made this author a one click author for me. Anton and Elsa’s story has all the feels. I loved the first book in this series, but this book is even better. This power couple have a fairytale beginning, but cracks emerge that they may not be able to overcome. This amazing story had me reading long into the night, I just couldn’t put it down. I’m really looking forward to the rest of the book in this series.

Slick Running (Satan’s Devils MC #3) AUDIO BOOK by Manda Mellett – Review by Sunday Barnaby

Slick Running by Manda Mellett

Narrated by Sierra Kline and Logan McAllister

Five Stars

This is the third book in the Satan’s Devils Mc series by this author. All of the books have been FIVE + stars for me. If you like MC’s you should read/listen to all of the books in this series and the spin offs. Slick and Ella are my new favorite couple of this MC club. The stories is full of a rough bike lifestyle, so it is not for the faint of heart.

Sierra Kline and Logan McAllister do a great job bringing the characters to life. Their voices are easy on the ears and they blend amazingly well together. I highly recommend these audibles and look forward to the next great listen by this author.

This is my first read of 2022, and I can tell you that I started this year out with a Big Bang. For a debut book this author hit this one out of the park. This book if full of action. Once I picked the book up, I couldn’t put it down until I finished. Grace Locke is a gritty lawyer/veteran who has been through some hard times. This author has really brought Grace to life and the story is so detailed it made me feel like I was right there with Grace chasing down the truth. I look forward to reading a lot more Grace Locke books in the future. Now, if I can just keep five star reading picks up for the rest of this year I will be in beaver.

Do you know when you have a really good book? I know when an author really engages my emotions. This book had me laughing a little and crying a lot. It was beautifully written. The characters were bold and detailed. The subject matter on bullying was described well by the author, but really made me emotional with my thoughts. This book had all the feels and then some. That is why this author is one of my favorites with her angsty reads.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Unlikely To Stay by Olivia Sherwood
Five Stars

Unlikely To Stay is the third book in the Parker Lake series by Olivia Sherwood . This book can be read as a stand alone, but I would highly recommend reading this series in order. The Parker Lake series is one of my top ten series I have read. The characters are believable and down to earth. This book features CC, who is the town beautician who has a confidence problem and Brant, who is a nurse practitioner that moved to Parker Lake to get his student loans paid off. Both are afraid of commitment, but the chemistry between the two is off the charts. Will they be able to overcome their issues, or will they go their separate ways? I highly recommend this book, series and author.

Hanging Softly in the Night: A Detective Nick Larson Novel AUDIO BOOK by Maria Elena Alonso-Sierra – Review by Sunday Barnaby

Hanging Softly in the Night, A Detective Nick Larson Novel by Maria Elena Alonso Sierra

Narrated by Charles Kahlenberg

This is a new author and series to me. I thoroughly enjoyed this story that kept me guessing until the end. It definitely can be listened to as a stand-alone, but I’m looking forward to listening to the rest of the books in this series. This book was filled with mystery and kept me listening long into the night.

The narrator of this book is also new to me. At first, I wasn’t sure if I could listen to the whole book, but after about a chapter the narrator grew on me. It had just been quite a while since I listen to a book with one narrator. Lately I have listened to duet narration. This book really took on a life of its own once I got into the storyline.

I freaking love this series. This author writes amazingly descriptive characters and this book is no exception. This book can be read as a stand alone, but I highly recommend you read the series in order to get the full dynamic of this series. It is well worth you time and money because it is an awesome series. As in the first two books, this book is full of all the feels. I was crying, laughing and wholeheartedly touched by this story. Jared is a rock god and Madison is caring for Jared’s father. It makes for some sizzling hot scenes, but also delves into deep issues of elder care. This book is in my top five reads of the year. I can’t wait to see what this author will bring us next.

The Crown of Stones: Magic-Price AUDIO BOOK by C. L. Schneider – Review by Sunday Barnaby

The Crown of Stones: Magic Price by C.L. Schneider

Narrated by Joey S. Bosco

Five  Stars

This is the first book in the Crown of Stones trilogy. Magic Price is the amazing beginning of this awesome series. Ian Troy is a Soldier Shinree. When he finds and uses the Crown Of Stones, his life spins out of control. After ten years of running, he must make a difficult decision to lead the resistance and learn to harness the magic to save the Realm and his people, the Shinree. He learns the truths about his heritage. The world that Schneider created with this trilogy is truly brilliant, so detailed it feels like you are part of what’s happening and can personally interact with the characters because you know them so well.

This is the first book I have listened to by this narrator. He really makes the story amazingly lifelike. I enjoyed his voice and inflections of the different characters. I have read these books before I got the Audiobook, but I appreciate the story more with the audio. I recommend this trilogy to anyone who loves sci-fi, fantasy or just plain action adventure. I suggest if you’re going to read it start at the beginning with The Crown of Stones: Magic-Price, Magic-Scars and finally Magic-Borne. This series is amazing and magical!

This book is an awesome listen. This is the second book in the Satan’s Devils series. This is Drummer and Sam’s story. Drummer is the MC President and Sam is the headstrong lady on a mission to meet her father. This is what brought them together…
Sam is so strong and a great match for Drum. The MC storyline is dark and dangerous.
The narration was flawless. Sierra and Logan’s voices blended together and brought the characters to life. Just a great overall listen.

Unlikely to Fit is the second book in the Parker Lake Series by Olivia Sherwood. This Rom/Com had me laughing out loud sometimes and had me reaching for my box of tissues at other times. This book should be read after the first book just so you get the whole picture in the series. I think this is my new favorite by Ms. Sherwood. This story flowed from beginning to end and I just couldn’t put it down. This book features Breckinridge Henderson, who just moved back home with her husband. He decides to start a relationship with the head cheerleader. So, Breckin is not looking for love after having her heart broken. Griffin Stephens had a bad relationship years ago that he just can’t get over, so he is not looking for love either. When they meet, the chemistry is hot. Will they get over their trust issues and come together at the end? This was such a fun book to read and the secondary characters are wonderful. I hope we get a book about each of her friends. I highly recommend this book, series and author.

Stand Your Ground is a crime thriller which involve current issues plaguing the US today. The story is fast paced and grabbed my attention from beginning to end. This is my new favorite book by A.J.
