The Scene (Dylan Hart series Book 1) by R.M Gilmore
4 Stars

Dylan Hart is a journalist. She decides to write a book to pay off her student loans. There is a serial killer on the loose. All his victims were left bloodless as if a vampire killed them. There is no better fodder for her book than this. While chasing down clues and doing research, she puts herself in the killer’s sights. Dylan has to fight for her life while trying to figure out who the killer is. Who can she trust when everyone is a suspect?

I really liked Dylan as a character. She was a no nonsense, down to earth kind of girl who had normal insecurities and self confidence issues. Being on the bigger side, she has never had the “hot guy” after her. Now that Cyrus is interested in her, can she trust him? I didn’t like Tatum. I almost wished she was one of the victims. I know that’s mean but the way she treated Dylan is not the way you should be treating your best friend.

The story introduces you to the underground culture of vampirism; the clubs, cults and people who believe themselves to be vampires. This is not your typical vampire novel. The author never confirms that any of the characters are vampires leaving you constantly guessing. You are forever walking the line between believing they really are or that they are nut jobs who think they are. Though at times I found the book a little long, it was well written and the storyline kept me interested. I’m looking forward to reading book two to see what other trouble Dylan can get into.

Black Blade (Black Blade Book 1) by Alexander Charalambides – Review by Sara Oxton

Black BladeBlack Blade by Alexander Charalambides
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Black Blade by Alexander Charalambides a cutting four-star read. This was my first read by this author and I hope it wont be the last as I enjoyed the writing style, there was action a plenty and magic and fun to keep the story going, it really did manage to keep a pace well. Its told by several POV’s and that was one thing I struggled with, as I couldn’t keep up, but to be honest it could be me and the place I am in right now, so give it a go and see what you think. The one thin I did really enjoy was fate/destiny story added something special as its always something that has attracted me. The characters are well developed, and the story is good, so dig in and enjoy.

Endless Night (Dylan Hart #2)Endless Night by R.M. Gilmore
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second book in this series and I loved it just as much if not more than the first book. One of the things I enjoy about this author’s writing is how she creates details that make me feel as if I am part of the story. I have no problem connecting with the characters. If you have not read the first book, I highly suggest it as it will help get to know the characters more. The lovable Dylan is back in this story and headed to New Orleans this time. She is dealing with vampires and this time we add voodoo and curses to it. Dylan is still my favorite with the sassy attitude and humor it really just makes her a well rounded character. I highly recommend this must read book and this series.

Black Blade (Black Blade Book 1)
By Alexander Charalambides
5 out of 5 stars

The story Black Blade (Black Blade Book 1) by Alexander Charalambides is a wonderful fantasy book that I loved reading. The story pulls you in from the beginning and I found myself wondering what was going to happen next. The story has the character of Lance chosen for a journey/quest. He has the sword Excalibur and starts down a path down under present-day London. How will this journey end? Read this book to find out. This is a story that has magic, action, danger, warring families, and a quest to finish. Lance is a character that has undertaken this journey and is determined to see it through. I also enjoyed many of the characters that Lance meets along the way. Some of them are helpful and others seem to have their own agenda and plans. Who can Lance trust? The story is told from several characters POV. It had me guessing and turning pages to find out what happens next. It creates an atmosphere of excitement and mystery. Don’t miss out on a book that you won’t want to put down until the final page. I found myself not wanting this adventure to be over. I would highly recommend reading it.

I loved this book and the edge sitting suspense-paranormal it brings. This is a book that had me turning pages fast and kept me engaged throughout the story. I was pulled right into the story from the beginning. This is a fast pace story that I read in one sitting. The characters made me feel as if I was right there with them. Dylan is a journalist that takes on an assignment of a lifetime until it turns dangerous. The question remains if she will survive? How many more will turn up dead? Could the murderer really be a vampire? I loved Dylan’s character, she is full of attitude and she doesn’t care what anyone thinks of her. She is strong and seems to get herself in danger easily. She makes the story for me and I highly recommend her story.

Hitting The High Note (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 3) by C A King – Review by Jonell Collins

Hitting The High Note (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 3)Hitting The High Note by C.A. King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The third of the Four Horseman Novels, Hitting the High Notes was every bit as spellbinding as the first two stories in the series. Action packed, with suspense and several little surprises. Our hero in this story is Uriel. He is quite a bit different than his siblings but every bit as lethal. Our heroine is quite a surprise. C.A. King gives us a bit of mystery in this one which makes the story even more riveting. A light romance, easy to read, and well worth your time.

Hitting the High Note by C.A. King (Book 3 in the Four Horsemen series) was a fun quick read. This book tells us about Uriel who thinks himself a cowboy. Which was again unique and different to me. That’s something I like about the author is her ability to come up with different characters and plots. Overall I really enjoyed it and look forward to others. 4 star rating.

Hitting The High Note (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 3) by C A King – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

Hitting The High Note (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 3)Hitting The High Note by C.A. King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hitting the High Note is the third book in C.A. King’s fantasy series of Four Horsemen Novels. The series takes place in a modern day setting with a beautiful and elaborate mythology at its heart. There are demigods and demons, fighting over the fate of the world. There are horsemen and there are keys – soulmates tied together by their destiny.
As the title suggests, the protagonist of Hitting the High Note is a musician. Bekka has worked in her family music shop all her life, and it seems likely she will continue running it unless she plucks up the courage to audition for an orchestra. I enjoyed how the music was threaded through the plot – I’ve always been a fan of musical magic! I also appreciated Bekka’s taste for tea – the descriptions of her making and drinking tea made my mouth water!
This series is fantastic – the world is well developed and complex and the mythology links in with various familiar mythologies whilst still being unique and surprising. The characters at the centre of each book continue to appear in the background of subsequent books, so it’s great to catch up on them. And Uriel, the horseman this book focuses on, has already appeared in the past so I was eager to learn more of his character.
I would recommend reading the books in order, to get the full story, although King does a good job of reminding readers of what has happened so you could probably get away with reading this on its own if you’re particularly after a fantasy book about music.
For me, this is another five star book. It’s a great series, and I’m particularly excited about having a music-focused book! I’d recommend the series to fans of mythology and urban fantasy. Looking forward to reading the next one!

Hitting The High Note (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 3) by C A King – Review by Erin Wolf

Hitting The High Note (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 3)Hitting The High Note by C.A. King
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I give Hitting The High Note (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 3) by C.A. King, 4 stars.

Bekka owns a small music store passed down through her family and must make ends meet in order to keep it running. But her love of music makes her even more determined to make sure this works. Unfortunately, her people skills are not that great. Part of her wishes she could be more like her best friend, Veronica. But Veronica has her own issues — she is constantly searching for the one man to make her dreams come true. She has this pull — this need — to find the right one.

Uriel, one of the four horsemen, loves the wide openness of the country, but a lead takes him into the heart of the city. There he runs into all sorts of things telling him the demons are closer than he believed. Can he stop the demons from getting what they are after? Can he find it himself? What about these two girls who look like twins? Is what his family says true?

It has been quite a while since I have read book two, but I was quickly reminded just how much I like these books and characters. While the suspense part of the series continues, the love story part is quite different from the previous books. Just when you think the story will go one way, it surprises you and does something completely different. I love to be kept guessing in this way. And the fact that our favorite family is back makes it that much better. The author quickly draws you in and I eagerly await the next book to see what is next.

If you are a fan of the paranormal, I highly recommend this book and series.

“Humans have always required knowledge.”

CONFESSION: This author is an auto one-click for me because I enjoy all of her books. I read these books based on the author’s name alone.

Glad I got that out of the way…

HITTING THE HIGH NOTE is Book 3 of the Four Horsemen Series and it is my very strong recommendation that you read this series in order. This story is Uriel’s and he may be my favorite sibling.

I do not want to give anything away in this story so I will continue to be vague, just know that there was an ad that said… “Demons and followers seeking the key to the gates of hell…” I mean, how can a story not be a 5 star read with THOSE words written into a paragraph.

I absolutely recommend this story, this series and this author.

Hitting the Hight Note is Book #3 in The Four Horseman Novel series. I definitely think these books should be read in order for the story to really flow and to get a better understanding of the Horseman. This book is just as captivating as the others, I was hooked from the first page with the brilliant writing style C.A King brings us, she writes with so much description that you can’t help but visualise the whole read, it helps create the illusion in your mind that you are really there within the story yourself.
This book isn’t short on twists and turns, it definitely leaves you wondering what could happen next and leaves you on the edge of your seat. This book has action, adventure & danger and epic characters that you can’t help but love to follow their journey.

You will never be disappointed when reading a book from C.A King you will become immersed in her worlds she creates and makes you never want to leave. I can’t wait to see what is brought next to this series, I’ll eagerly be awaiting more!

Hitting the High Note by C.A. King a five-star read that will have you hitting the high notes. This is number three in the Four Horseman Novels and its best to read them in order as it keeps you hooked and keeps you drawn in all the way, the author has done their own twist to the Four Horseman tale and just keeps it fresh and interesting. As always, this author makes you see the story portrayed in front of you, the descriptions are so detailed its like the story comes alive as you read it. The story between Bekka and Uriel will keep you on tenterhook’s, in fact the whole story does that but between them they do keep this story great.

This is the third book in the Four Horseman series and it did not disappoint. The story of Uriel and Veronica had some really interesting twists and turns as they found their way to each other. Hitting The High Note (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 3) by C. A. King

5-Stars

Hitting The High Note (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 3) by C. A. King was an excellent addition to the series. It can be read as a standalone and provides enough detail for readers who have not read the first two books to prevent confusion. As seen with the other two novels, the author begins the book with a brief history of what led to the current issue with the keys from past events. This book focuses on Uriel, Veronica, and Bekka and their role in the main story searching for the keys. Uriel is portrayed as a hunky red headed cowboy while Veronica and Bekka look very similar to each other. Only one of them is the key though. This story was fascinating and very different from the first to books. I loved the change and enjoyed that the story still easily flowed from page one to the end. The characters were also easy to relate to and at times frustrating. This story carried me away and I read it in one sitting. I highly recommend this book and the series and can’t wait to see what the next book has in store.

This is the third book in the series and I have been eager to read it. The fight continues and the search for the key aka their mates continues. I really like how the author writes her take on the four horsemen of the apocalypse. The take that they are good is very unique.

This book is Uriel’s story and I really like how the author does not make it obvious and throws in little twists. I really like how the romance is underlying in this story and that there is just enough drama and a bit of mystery thrown in. I like how this story was not so straight forward and had a bit of twist. I really look forward to reading the next and finale book in this series and more from this author.

Hitting the High Note is the third book in the Four Horsemen series. Read the previous books in order to get a good grasp on the story thus far.

I enjoyed this story so much. I can totally relate to the part of Bekka that, in her words, “shouldn’t be allowed in public.” I’ve said that about myself so many times. Up until now, we haven’t heard much from Uriel, so it was good to see what he’s really like. Who doesn’t like a man who can use a lasso???

Be prepared for some interesting twists. Everything may not be what it seems.

As with the previous books, the story held my attention and I read it all in one night. I appreciate the thought that went into creating the unique aspects of the powers and the creation myth.

I highly recommend this series. I’m looking forward to the next book so I can find out how it all ends!

I have loved the first 2 books of this series and this one follows right along, this could possibly be read as a standalone but I would absolutely not recommend it, there’s too much you would be missing and there is a continuing story happening and building in the background.

This might be my favorite so far and that’s hard to say because the first two were outstanding. I fell head over heels for Uriel, he made me smile often and Bekka had my emotions all over the place..I really liked her best friend and the twists in this book had me on the edge of my seat.

This book has me crazy thinking about what might happen in book four and I can not wait! Not going into any of the storylines as I don’t want to ruin any of the books for someone else but just know one clicking this series is something you will not regret. I love this author, she has made me read books and look forward to books I don’t normally read.

Loved it and can not wait for When The Paint Dries… I am seriously considering reading all of the first 3 over again so I can move right into 4 when the time comes..They are that good!!

Finally C.A. King is giving us Uriel’s story in her Hitting the High Note that is the third book in her Four Horsemen series! For the ones who are just now stumbling on the series, you need to read the stories in the order! Also, as a short reference to get your juices flowing, it is an interesting twist on the four horsemen legend – the writer gives us an urban fantasy with drama, adventure, demigods, jealousy, good versus evil, brotherhood, romance … I can keep going for ever!
Hitting the High Note is Uriel’s story! He is one of the four horsemen and he is one of the four guarding the gates to hell: “The guardians of the four gates remained faithful to their cause through the ages – seeking out and destroying demons trying to free their forefather from the confines of the hell he had been sentenced to live in. Thousands of years later, a new threat appeared on the horizon…”
His ‘person’ is Bekka and she was not so nice to him when they first met (and you need to read the story to find out why). She loves music and she does not like socializing and Uri comes and turns her life upside down … I promise you one heck of a ride where you do not know what might happen next! AND there is one more guardian left!

Hitting The High Note by C.A. King is the third book in the Four Horseman Series. This is a fantastic series that I cannot recommend highly enough!
In this book we get the story of Uriel. Like the previous books this one instantly grabbed my attention. I was straight back into this world and the lives of the characters. This book is so exciting. It is filled with twists and turns the whole way through. I thought I had an idea of what might happen after book 2 however C.A. King has performed her usual magic and taken me on a completely different journey.
I love the way the author has combined the stories so that in each book we get more details of one particular sibling while also getting to know a bit more about the others. For me it has added a depth to the series that I think a lot tend to lack. This author has definitely become a one click author for me and I would urge everyone to give her work a try!

Amazing!!!! I have really been enjoying this series and getting to know all of the horsemen so I was looking forward to Uriel’s story and I was absolutely blown away by it and I have to say this is definitely my favourite so far! The author really did an amazing job with this new instalment – I really was hooked from beginning to end. There were some extremely unexpected twists and even now I keep thinking back and how I honestly just did not see some of the things coming at all! The book is very cleverly written! I loved Uriel, I don’t think he was what I was quite expecting to be honest and Bekka was a surprise also! I loved getting to know their characters.
I am so, so excited to see where Ms King is going to take book 4 in the series – I cannot wait! Her writing is so vividly detailed that her books are a real pleasure to read at all times! I 100% recommend this book and the series as a whole!

Hitting The High Note (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 3) by C.A. King is a fantasy paranormal story and another wonderful addition to a series that I have loved, C. A. does not disappoint. This series just captivates and ensnares you and you are always hanging waiting for the next adventure. This is a different take on the Four Horsemen and the legends/stories and C.A. does it brilliantly, you just never know what you are going to get. I love the surprises that crept up on me and that added another dynamic. I love, love, love the characters who once again find themselves embroiled in danger and demons, action and drama, demigods and mates, chuck in a side order of romance and you have the basic food groups for a recipe for success.

Bekka keeps herself locked away from life and socially stunted but when she notices an ad in the paper her curiosity gets the better of her, but it is that and her jealously that finds her in a situation that she may not recover from.

Uriel, a Horsemen who along with his brothers and sister are chasing the means to keep the gates of hell closed. He looks things on the brighter side of life and is a little quirky and fun. He made me laugh. This cowboy is a bit of a drifter and is on the hunt for demons but he finds is the one thing he never knew he was looking for.

I am now wanting and waiting for the next installment – When the Paint Dries.

Hitting The High Note (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 3) by C. A. King. I love a book that can take me bu surprise and this one definitely lived up to that. It’s got twists I didn’t see coming. I have truly loved every minute of this series and I do recommend them to be read in order. The adventure the author takes readers on its at times mind blowing. The characters are all so detailed and you can’t help but sink in to their story. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. I’m so excited to see where the author takes readers next. If you’re looking for something a bit different then I recommend this series and book to you. Four stars!

This is the third story In this series. Flowers and writing have been found but music is Uriel’s story. This is full of action, suspense and some fun. I enjoyed this the more I read. It has been a bit since the last one and I forgot all about Dante and his quest. I am back up to speed with everyone and their mates as well as what Dante is planning. This is a fast moving enjoyable story filled with wit, fun and suspense. I liked getting to read Uriel’s part in all this and how he reacted to his mate.
I see Raphael’s story is last and we get to read the conclusion of this four part series.
