The party continues and Dylan Hart DOES NOT disappoint. My heart deeply loves Dylan’s character and Gilmore’s writing style is proving to be an awesome adventure every single time. For full enjoyment this book should be read in series order. But Gilmore’s literary skill would allow someone to pick up this book and enjoy it thoroughly without reading the first. A fantastic adventure. I cannot wait to pick up book three!

Just when I thought it couldn’t get better boy was I wrong I think this one knocked it out of the park. Wow is an understatement. I’m going to say if you haven’t read the first book in this series do it you won’t regret it. I can’t tell you how much I I freaking love the character Dylan Hart she’s such a bad ass and love her snarky attitude. So in this story we find Dylan being invited to New Orleans by a old acquaintance .Once there she finds she has a new foe. Is she in danger? How much danger? Will she survive this trip? I found myself on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what happens next and times I was laughing out loud while shaking my head. Find out what happens next in this suspense story that is a must read. I can’t hardly wait to get my hands on the next book.

I found myself fascinated with the first book of this series so I decided to read Book 2 of the Dylan Hart series. Now, I’m officially addicted. The mysteries that this guy has will keep you on the edge of your seat as you read cover to cover. A former associate invites Dylan to New Orleans. Dylan makes a new enemy. New details emerge as she’s in for the conflict of her life is only starting. I love the mystery in which this author keeps you hooked. What I love about this book is it teaches us something we should all carry with us no matter who or what we are. I love books that hold values and morals as a storyline. Cheesy, I know but I love it. Alex Charalambides does this perfectly in this tale which is one for the ages. This is quite an adventure. Filled with wizards, Magic and Excalibur is a retelling of a classic. While the story drew me in I struggled with the timeline of the characters. It is confusing to me and makes the story not flow very smoothly. Causing me to lose interest at times. I plugged on and the story does pick up near the end. The main character held my interest and wondering what would happen to him and the sword. There are few secondary characters who I liked and others not so much.

The Scene (Dylan Hart Book 1) by R.M. Gilmore is slow to grow on you but once you got going couldn’t put it down kind of read. Some of the characters you loved to hate and others like Dylan were down to earth and oh so sassy and bad mouthed. I loved her and found myself laughing at her and her ballsy attitude. I don’t know what I expected but RM definitely keeps you on your toes right throughout and delivers a little gem. I am now about to head on to book 2 and see what delights and trouble Dylan finds herself in once again.

She finds herself caught up in the world of the dark and undead, experiencing things she never thought she would ever experience.
Can she solve the murders or will she get dragged into the world of vampires.
Dylan is a really whitty and funny character that you cant help but fall in love with and she tells it like it is. I really enjoyed this story.

The Scene is a book I probably wouldn’t normally read but I was looking for something a little different and I have read something by this author previously so I thought I would give it a go and overall I really enjoyed it. The writing was really good, the author drew me in but I will admit it did take a couple of chapters to fully get into but once I did I was fully absorbed in what I was reading. I actually wasn’t sure I would relate to the main character but I did really like her, she had this real feel about her, confident and sassy yet unsure of herself. She was really funny and made me laugh on more than one occasion. The storyline was really good and had a great pace to it; I actually read it really quickly! I am definitely looking forward to the next book in the series!

After really enjoying book 1 in this new series I was looking forward to starting the second book ‘Endless Night’ and I absolutely loved it! I feel like the author really took this book to another level, I found myself turning the pages faster and faster just so I could see what was going to happen. I loved Dylan but in this book I found I loved her even more, she is such a fantastic character to read about. She is so relatable and down to earth, she has insecurities that many of us have – I just adore her! I love Malcolm and Cyrus so much – it was great to see their characters develop over the story! I cannot believe I have to wait for book 3! The author left us on a cliff-hanger and I shall definitely be looking forward to reading the next book in the series! I 100% recommend this book – it’s a fantastic read!

Endless Night is the second exciting instalment in the Dylan Hart Series by R.M. Gilmore. I was hooked on the series right from the beginning of book one, so I had high hopes for the rest of instalments. So, I am happy to say that this book surpassed all my expectations and is even better than the first. It is a fast-paced and thrilling read- with vampires, danger, mystery, drama, suspense, twists & turns, voodoo, curses, and lots of gripping developments- all set against the paranormal haven that is New Orleans. Another vivid, rich, dynamic, detailed and descriptive story- with all the excitement you could wish for, which made it impossible to put down until I’d read every word. After the way this story ended, I really can’t wait to dive into book #3!

Black Blade by Alexander Charalambides is superb YA fantasy adventure with plenty of action, magic, and fun. This is a quest that will take the characters on an adventure they could never have imagined. With wizards, magic, Excalibur, and much so much more that made this a really great read. As the first book in the series, it was a great introduction to what looks set to be a really fun series. The story is told from several POV’s and is a fairly quick and easy read. I am interested to see what’s in store for us in the next book/s! Can’t wait.

Blood Rebellion (Supernatural Intelligence Agency Book #1) by Nadine Travers is an urban fantasy- a paranormal detective story with supernatural elements, action, adventure, drama, intrigue, mystery, and danger. It is fast paced short story, which makes for quick and easy reading. I was immediately intrigued by the title, cover, and blurb. The blurb held so much promise, and I really do love a great urban fantasy. But having said that, when I purchased my copy of this book, I hadn’t realised that I had already read it, last year, as part of the “Rogue Skies” Anthology. As I began reading, it felt so familiar, and as the story went on, I realised where I’d seen/read it before. I had enjoyed it the first time I read it as part of the anthology, and it still had the same appeal this time around. But reading it again now, as book one in the series, I would like to have had more character details, backstory(ies), story/series development, and depth- as a lot of the story, for me, seemed a bit rushed or a little cut short. I think the story would have benefited from being just a little longer with added details and development. It would have elevated it to a whole new level. Don’t get me wrong, the story is well written and intriguing, I just felt like I wanted to know more. I will be following the series to see what happens- but I do hope the next book/s have got more detail and development.

The Scene is the first book in the Dylan Hart Series by R.M. Gilmore. This book was even better than I’d imagined. I was hooked right from the beginning, completely engrossed by the unfolding story. R.M Gilmore has such a detailed and descriptive style- bringing all her words to ‘life’ and giving it a dynamic and exciting quality that made it impossible to put down. Dylan Hart is a journalist who is on the trail of the story of a lifetime- investigating the possibility of vampires as murder victims turn up drained of blood. But things soon get complicated and dangerous. Things aren’t quite what they seem. Dylan’s investigation has put a target on her back, and she is soon fighting for her life. What happens makes for a thrilling read. I will be one-clicking the rest of this series to explore asap! Fantastic!

I absolutely loved this book! If I could, I would give it 10 stars. It is so refreshing to see something new in the mystery/whodunit genre. Yes, it is more common to have female lead characters and mysteries dealing with the occult and supernatural nowadays, but the way the author puts all of this together makes for a hysterical, gripping read. It reminded me heavily of the show Kolchak: Night Stalker, but female and much, much snarkier. I instantly fell in love with Dylan. Bigger than most girls with a personality to match, she is just what I want to see in a lead. She knows she isn’t perfect, but she tries to overcome her insecurities and work with what she has. Then there are the secondary characters. Her best friend is amazing and just what you would expect for Dylan. Then there are the men — my jury is still out on them, but again I hope to see more of them.
Let us not forget the story itself. It based around some murders of women that are quite strange. Dylan decides to look into it more and the deeper she goes, the more she realizes she needs to solve this. Along the way, she begins to question her sanity when it looks like it could be vampires. The author pulls all of the elements together perfectly and throws you right into the story. She does such a seamless job of it, you have to remember where you are when you close the book.
If you are a fan of dark, snarky female leads in a mystery suspense dealing with the supernatural, this book is definitely for you. The subject matter and language is quite adult at times, so make sure you are okay with this first. If you like the edgier side of things, get this book now!

The Scene (Dylan Hart Series Book 1) by R.M. Gilmore was exciting and intriguing. Dylan was on the hunt for why girls were showing up dead as if a vampire had killed them for her book. Little did she know that she would get pulled in and put herself on the killer’s radar. Her character was hilarious, witty, and smart. I loved her way of thinking and her frequent conversations with herself. I also loved bff Tatum. Those two were like two peas in a pod. It was amazing how in sync they were and how easily they worked together to find out information. I loved their shenanigans in this book. This was such an excellent read. I can’t wait to get started on the next book. I easily give it 5-stars.

Endless Night (Dylan Hart Book 2) by R.M. Gilmore was exciting and fun. I loved this second book in this series. Dylan is absolutely wonderful. He character is my favorite and she never ceases to amaze me. I had to officially come to terms with Malcom and Tatum as an item in this book. I wondered if they would be a thing in this book at the end of book one. I liked Cyrus more in this novel than the first. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book.
Like the first book, this story was easy to follow and get lost in. It kept me interested and was full of interesting things. I highly recommend this book and the series. It’s an easy 5-star read.

This book turned out different then I expected and I loved it. The entire time I was reading this story I kept trying to figure out who was doing these heinous crimes. Dylan’s character is different from most, she is a short fuller woman with attitude, and wit, I loved her. This story has vampires, suspense, danger, wit and wonderful characters. There were unexpected twists and turns, I had a hard time putting this book down because I was on the edge of my seat wanting to know what was going to happen next. I can’t wait to read the next one, I highly recommend this book.

Black Blade by Alexander Charalambides is a fantasy adventure following Lance, an American student, who finds Excaliber and is chosen for a quest. This story is full of action and magic. I enjoyed the characters, but was a little confused by the timeline at points. The POV changes also confused me a bit. I think with a few more headings that can be fixed. I do think this was an interesting and unique take on the story of Lancelot and Excaliber. I look forward to reading the next adventure from this author.

Black Blade by Alexander Charalambides YA fantasy paranormal story that is full of magic and adventure. It is Alexander’s first book and is a fun way to start the series and it is funny and a joy to read. There are a lot of characters and the story being told by different POV’s and at times it is a bit confusing to keep them all straight. The story is easily read and definitely entertaining. Alexander has done well with this first book and I look forward to the next one.

Endless Night by R.M. Gilmore is the second book in the Dylan Hart series. This is a brilliant follow up to the first book. I would advise to read them in order as it follows the same character. It was so good to get back into the character that is Dylan. She was just as strong and entertaining as in the first book. The story has been well developed, building on what the first book established. I was instantly drawn back into the characters and the story. It was interesting, entertaining and just great writing. I cannot wait for book 3!

I enjoyed that many of the characters from the first book are brought forward into this one. There is an atmosphere of mystery. I love that the book is set in New Orleans. The story had me hooked from the very beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. The book has wonderful detail and I felt like I was right there with Dylan. Don’t miss out on this exciting and entertaining second book in this wonderful series.

Black Blade by Alexander Charalambides is a great fantasy book that is a unique take on Lancelot and Excalibur. This is a relatively new author to me but I was excited to read more of his work. I loved the new take on this old story. The story was in depth and complex, jumping back and forth time wise but the author handles it well, keeping the storylines moving forward nicely. I enjoyed the fact that the story was told from multiple points of view as it gave an overall view of what was going on. This author has a great way of using his words to create a lasting story. It was interesting and unique and exciting to read. I am definitely looking forward to reading more of this author in the future.

The Scene by R.M. Gilmore is the first book in the Dylan Hart series. This is a strong start to a series and introduces some great characters from the start. This story had a bit of everything – action, adventure, fantasy. It was easy to get into and the story was well developed and fast paced. I enjoyed the humour in the book. It made it more relatable. This is a great book and definitely worth reading. I am looking forward to seeing why comes next.

The story The Scene (Dylan Hart Series Book 1) by R.M. Gilmore is a horror book that kept me turning pages. I was always wondering what would happen next. It pulled me in from the very beginning and once started I found myself not able to put it down. I loved the character of Dylan Hart. She is strong, independent, sassy, has plenty of wits, and determination. She is a journalist that is looking into a story. A story that includes vampires. What will she find? Read this book to find out. Dylan is sassy and can easily turn on the sarcasm when needed. She is a likable character and I found myself quickly rooting for her to find out the truth of the story she is working on. The story has action, suspense, danger, and some chilling scenes. I have loved stories about vampires and the occult for a long time and this story is a good example of why. There are twists and turns in the book that I didn’t see coming. There are quite a few additional characters that are introduced. Some I enjoyed reading about, such as Dylan’s bestie, and then others who are mysterious, and I had to wonder what their real agenda is. Don’t miss out on a story that will have you glued to the pages until the ending. I would highly recommend reading it.

The Scene by R.M. Gilmore a thrilling five-star read. This is the first novel in the Dylan Hart series and what a start, I can’t wait to sink my teeth into the rest of the series. Dylan Hart just made me smile so much, honestly the character was sublime, there was just something warm and fuzzy with a scrappiness to it. The thing is Dylan is great, but the rest of the characters just brought out so much of the story, it had me laughing one-minute biting my nails in the next. This was just an engaging and compelling story that you would be sad to miss.
