Hunter and Selma both drs, are trying to navigate a relationship but with past damage. Her, an abusive marriage and him, loss of a loved one. Selma gets some surprising news and gets spooked and runs away to work with drs in a third world country. A deadly outbreak spreads fast and kills many. The drs work quickly to save who they can, find out where the disease came from, who made it and why. The author for sure did lots of research for the medical portions of the book. It seemed to be written in the format or a journal and for me personally I didn’t like it. The timeline sometimes skipped back and forth.

I enjoyed reading this romance story that has a touch of suspense to it. This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up. This is one of my favorites yet by her. I enjoy how the author uses her attention to details to pull me into the story with her characters. These characters are no different. They are strong, relatable and add so much to the story. They have great growth as well as chemistry. They made the story for me. I found this book to be fast paced and engaging. A hard to put down story where the characters will question themselves and each other. What happens with them you don’t want to miss. I really enjoyed this story and I highly recommend this book.

This is the first book I have read by Debra Parmley and honestly, I couldn’t put it down. Being an army veteran, I don’t usually read books with anything military related but something about this synopsis drew me in and I was not disappointed. This book is mainly told from the perspective of Diesel and Pippa, though it does have moments as other characters such as Diesel’s father and even Pippa’s ex-husband Stan. Groomed from a young age by Stan who is 15 years older than her Pippa married right out of high school, but the honeymoon phase quickly turned dangerous after her father passed away six months into their marriage. With no other choice Pippa ran, with nothing but her purse and the cloths on her back, she has been running and looking over her shoulder for over a year when she is in living in Virginia Beach and finally gets a call that Stan is in prison for three years, she is safe. Diesel called in with his SEAL team for a meeting before going back out on missions is home in Virginia Beach. Its Halloween and with help both end up at the masquerade party. With the fresh news that she is safe and can relax and have fun Pippa goes dressed as a woodland fairy and gives into her inner desires for a night of fun. Diesel looking to have a good time before shipping out again is dressed as a gladiator. Pippa works up the courage to approach the mysterious gladiator and asks him to dance and then more, but no names, no faces, and no numbers. In the moment something more intense happened that neither had ever experienced before but Pippa stuck to her rules of the night and went home. Quickly Pippa regrets not at least giving her gladiator her number, then finds out she is pregnant but no matter what she is going to be a mother and that’s all that matters. Two years pass, she has a handsome little boy named Bryce, a chance encounter with an older man at a park sets her one prayer the day her son was born in motion. That her son’s father is safe and if it is best for them that he may come back to them. Only when Diesel finds her it’s too late, her ex is loose, and he found them first. Will Pippa survive the wrath of her past? Can Diesel find his new family in time? What will happen to little Bryce? The world the author creates is one of reality, the moments the bad luck and the good luck are all possible. The characters are three dimensional and grow, being relatable. I read this entire book in less than a day and couldn’t put it down until I knew what happened next. I can’t wait to read book 2 Saving the Bellydancer, from Diesel’s fellow SEAL brother Cutter and learn his story.

The Golden Garza (Red Cage Book 4) by S. Ann Cole. This is Tripp’s story and I loved it. These books are so good. They can be read as standalone’s but I highly recommend reading them in order. Tripp is a wild card, he’s always loved high stakes everything. He’s an adrenaline junkie, fast cars and one night stands are right up his alley. Soleil is his sisters best friend and its a good thing she gets on his nerves completely because she is beautiful!. When she needs protecting he is fine with helping her out which is out of character for him. He finds that he will do anything to take care of her. Soleil knows that when she needs help the Garza’s will be there but when Tripp gets to know Soleil better he realizes there is a lot more to her than annoying giggles. He might even be falling for her. Will he trust her with his heart? Read this wonderful book to find out!

I am still trying to process my thoughts on this book to be able to write this review. I have read many books by one of these authors and she is just an incredibly talented writer but this book honestly was just something else. I love it when a book is written by two author and their writing style matches so well you have no idea who has written what! Brilliant collaboration. I was completely consumed by what I was reading, I had no idea which way the authors were going with the story – it really was an amazing read. I will be honest and say it may not be a story for everyone but I loved it, I loved the darkness of Dominic and his want for revenge, I probably should have liked him as much as I did. He was a really complex character and I found him fascinating with the way in which he thought at times. Whitney was an interesting character as well Overall a great read and one I would recommend!

Wow I really enjoyed this book. It is a romance but it is also full of danger and Suspense as secrets are reveled and a romance blossoms which took me by surprise. The author’s writing is so descriptive that you feel every ounce of emotions between Tripp and Sunny. There’s is definately a relationship which starts off as pure hate. Well from Tripp, Sunny however has always wanted him. When Sunny hires Tripps family to help her find out who she is, things take a dangerous twist which means Sunny needs to be protected and Tripp is just the man for the job. As things progress and the situation gets more dangerous you can feel the tension and attraction build between them. But Tripp doesn’t do relationships so as much as he realises he wants her he holds back and we get a stroy that is very push and pull but full of tension as you keep reading to see if they eventually get their act together and get together
This is the 4th book in the Red Cage series and I am definately going back to read the others. Even though it is part of a series it was enjoyable enough to be read as a standalone.

When London meets a man at a bar deep in the woods all she is looking for is a quick, no-strings attached fling. She gets that in a man named Mateo that she spends seven pleasure filled evenings with. Once the week is up London gets on with her life and never expects to see Mateo again.
A full year has gone by and although London’s life has resumed to normal, she cannot stop thinking about that man she met in the woods. When she starts working with an agency called Red Cage, she comes face-to-face with the man she has not been able to stop thinking about. Never in her wildest dreams did London expect to see this man ever again, yet here he is and now he is her boss. Not only that but as it turns out, Mateo is not even his real name.
London and True were wonderful characters and you can almost feel the sexual tension between them. This was not something that either were willing to admit nor were they willing to give into. True is sexy, with a body that will not quit, and he oozes sexuality. Every woman lusts after him and not only does he know it but he thrives on the attention. True is used to getting what he wants and having women lavish him with gifts and attention. He has no desire to have a relationship or be tied down by any one woman. Lonny is strong willed, independent, hot headed, and does not back down from a challenge. She hits every obstacle head on and is a force to be reckoned with. Lonny is not the type of woman to be wooed by any man nor does she want a man to get in the way of her career. Neither Lonny nor True can deny there is a strong sexual attraction between them, but is that all it is?
This book leaves the reader running the gamut of emotions so be mentally prepared to be tugged in all sorts of directions. Some of the scenes between Lonny and True were downright steamy and almost leave you breathless. Other times you want to scream at them because they are both so pig headed and stubborn as they deny their feelings for each other. Then there are moments when we are brought to tears when learn about their past experiences and how it made them put up walls. Every so often we get a chuckle at some of the text messages between True and his brother’s wife, Lexi, when True asks for her advice. Very well written and the characters were likable and relatable. I highly recommend this book!

Soleil has lusted after Tripp Garza her entire life, but he thinks that she is annoying and wants nothing to do with her. When Soleil needs help she approaches Red Cage for help and surprisingly enough Tripp is the one person who is willing to help her. Not only will he help her but he is willing to put his life on the line for her at all costs. Surprised by this turn of events, Soleil accepts his help knowing that it will be no more than a professional relationship. She is just happy to be able to spend any time with this beautiful man of her dreams.
Soleil wants nothing more than to make Tripp hers but knows that may be an impossible dream. Tripp also has a reputation for being non-committal so being in a relationship is not in the cards for him. All Tripp wants to do is spend time pursuing his own activities so why is he so determined to help Soleil. Why does it matter to him so much that she is safe and out of harm’s way? Why is he so jealous when another man touches her? His emotions not only surprise him, but it also comes as a surprise to Soleil. She thought that he hated her so why is he acting this way?
This book was brilliantly written and the characters of Tripp and Soleil were wonderful. I kept reading and turning pages to not only see what would happen between them but to find out if the mystery of Soleil’s past would be solved. The more we read the more we learn about the secret yearnings that both Soleil and Tripp have had and kept to themselves for years. Then a surprising twist as we learn who Soleil really is and where she came from. That is all I will say for fear of spoilers so if you want to know more then you will have to read this book.

This was quite the suspenseful story. I found it a quick read. There were a few predictable spots. It’s an original story that will have you feeling the suspense. The characters are young and modern, so they are fairly relatable. The story flows well. I enjoyed it. I loved the suspense and it kept me glued till the end
Dominic is in love with Juliana when she disappears. Presumed dead, her wealthy father blames Dominic and has him arrested. Years later, Dominic runs into Juliana, only she claims to be Whitney. Dominic doesn’t know what to believe because she looks exactly like his Juliana. All he knows is he is extremely angry for everything he went through. When Whitney ends up having a special skill that can help him, he must get past the anger at Juliana, even if he still believes the two women are one in the same. Opinion This book has some trigger warnings at the beginning for a very good reason. It goes down a rabbit hole so dark that it is not for everyone. If you do not like dark romance (and I do mean dark), this book is not for you. That having been said, the story was captivating. Following along with Dominic and Whitney/Juliana kept my mind spinning with possibilities of what happened. The book does end in a good light but it did get pretty dark and sketchy for a while. I will give a warning of my own. This book has a lot of intimate scenes. I would say they happened every two to three chapters, with the first one in the prologue. If that is not your kind of book, this book is not for you. If it is your kind of book, make sure you read it while your partner is in town.

Wow this story was truly dark and twisty….and not all love stories end in happiness….or so to speak.
Dominic Price only ever wanted was to give Juliana Rutherford the world….his love for her was truly impeccable…forbidden as well. Juliana comes from a rich family and her father is very powerful and Dominic is not good enough in Grant Rutherford’s eye for his daughter. When one fateful night of love turns into a fight and things being left unsaid between Dominic and Juliana……Dominic leaves and that departure comes back to haunt him. Juliana goes missing and Grant Rutherford points his fingers in the direction of Dominic…leaving Dominic to fend for his life.

This story had me all twisted up…it was a roller coaster of emotions……hatred, ruthlessness, rough, twists that I did not see coming for sure. This story definitely had some “dark” moments that are true triggers just a warning.

This was a great 5 star read, I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was coming next. Tripp all I can say is oh my, what an alpha full of hotness. Soleil is off limits to Tripp until she isn’t and he decides he can’t stay away any longer. Tripp has some demons to deal with, will he be able to get past them to have a HEA with Sunny? This book can be read as a standalone but I suggest reading the whole series. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. This was an interesting read. The synopsis and blurb sounded interesting so I was excited to try this one out. It was a lot darker than I was expecting. It kind of turned me off from the story a bit, because while I was expecting some darker themes, this book just a whole other turn I wasn’t expecting and there were no trigger warnings that I personally noticed to prepare for some of the content so that definitely should be a warning for some people. Other than that the story was intriguing and the characters were well written, while very twisted. I did enjoy this book, just not as much as I wanted to pr expected to.

I am sure I have mentioned before in my other reviews that I am not usually a fan of shorter stories But this truly talented author manages to pack so much story and character development into her books that it could be any length at all and you would be left with nothing but good vibes from the story and this author. The change of perspective that Cutter goes through was so well done that he truly captivates you all the way through and the real world issues addressed make this a read well worth your time!

This is such a good and complex book. There was a lot going on, but in a very good way. It was the kind of book that you don’t want to put down because you are afraid you are going to miss something. I love the concept of coworkers that become friends that become something well.. Not so simple to define. I thought that Selma was a wonderfully complex character, who had so many things going on it was hard to not feel sympathetic for her. Truthfully, I also loved Dr. Hunter. I thought that the way he handled the dilemma of the virus and how driven he was to solve it was an amazing twist to a plot line that I thought I had completely figured out, boy was I wrong. I definitely enjoyed this book and I thoroughly recommend it!

This was a great suspense/thriller read. Even though it is book 3 in the series, it is able to be read a stand alone. I love a suspense book that you can’t figure out how it ends, until it ends. This story has that element. I connected to the characters and enjoyed the tie in of a mysterious death to a current case. The idea that the people that are on the force had ties to the past case made it that more suspenseful because I wanted them to find out the answers. I really like the both Elizabeth and Lila’s characters – even though I felt there was some angst between the two, they worked well together to solve the case. I would recommend this book to mystery/thriller genre lovers.

S.Ann Cole brings another exciting book to her Red Cage Series with The Golden Garza. The beginning of the book contains a Quick Information Guide with all of the characters that are part of the series. This book focuses on Soleil and Tripp. Soleil is best friends with Tillie and has decided to visit her in Los Angeles. Soleil (aka Sunny) is a YouTube fitness trainer and has been able to save up the money she needs to get an interview with Red Cage to help her find out what her real identity is. Tillie is elated when she greets Sunny at the airport. Then the shoe drops—they are staying at Tripp’s house because Tillie’s has had to be worked on and is not inhabitable currently. Sunny likes Tripp, but he is not a fan of her after their past. While she was drunk and in Costa Rica with the Garza family, she attempted to kiss Tripp while he was sleeping. He woke and shoved her away. Six years had passed since then, but he still avoided her like the plague. Tillie reassures her that Tripp is away at work and insists that Sunny occupy his room while she takes the guest room. However, Tripp returns in the middle of the night. Sunny has a secret crush on Tripp, and when he starts to become intimate with her, she goes along with it. Right before he reaches to put a condom on, Sunny tries to kiss him.
Tripp Garza does not kiss! He stops and turns the light on to discover Sunny in his bed and not his long-term friend with benefits, Maggie. Sunny tries to apologize, and Tripp knows that Tillie is responsible for the bedroom fiasco. He tells Sunny to stay in his room and that things will be sorted out in the morning. He leaves the room. The following day, Sunny is waiting for a taxi to Red Cage for her appointment when Tripp pulls up beside her on his motorcycle. He tells her to get on, and they zip through traffic, arriving in time for her to be early for her appointment. When she starts to say thank you, Tripp drives away.
Soleil goes to the meeting with Red Cage. Trent, Guy, and Ruebin are at the meeting where she tells them about her dilemma. She had been adopted and had no recollection of her memories before age thirteen. Her “father” died, and that was when she discovered he was not her real father. When she was willing to sign over the gym to Lance, the co-owner of the business, he disappeared. They tell her they will call her in a few days with their decision. Trent is against taking the case because of the cost and knowing she can’t afford it. Tripp has compassion for her and says he will pay for it. Guy also contributes $200,000 to the pot. Unbeknownst to Soleil, Tripp has feelings he is trying to hide, and they all go back to before the attempted kiss in Costa Rica.

What a glorious addition to this series! I loved every Single Second! I started this and struggled to put it down. Yes, it is that good! It is filled with action, drama, suspense and kept me highly entertained. It is a well done story that pushes all the characters to their limits and shows what they can really do.
I really thought Soleil was barking up the wrong tree with Tripp. He’s mean to her and really shows no interest. Luckily this story has some chapters from his POV so we get a peek inside his head.
I loved all the times with his brothers, wives and their family. Their camaraderie makes me smile. Red Cage activities always intrigue me and keep me entertained.
I eagerly look forward to that sassy Tillie getting her story and finding out who can handle her.

This book took off from the start with me on the edge of my seat. I couldn’t put the book down because I just needed to know what happens next! This book won’t disappoint. Dominic has had to fight for everything he owns from a very early age. When he is accused and arrested for his girlfriend, Juliana Rutherford’s disappearance, he only wants revenge for what he’s been through. When Whitney comes into the picture, she thinks she can help Dominic. But can these two trust each other enough to get the job down and to find out what happened to Juliana before it’s too late.

25 years ago Sheriff Elizabeth Benoit there was an unsolved mystery that was too close to home. Elizabeth’s best friend and her Deputies sister. Now there is another case that has links to the past cases, can Elizabeth figure it out in time or will it be too late.
Lila Dayne is doing her best to assist on the case. She wasn’t around when the initial death occurred, will she be able to give her take on the case no matter how difficult it maybe?
This is a really intriguing series. I like all the characters and the way the author cleverly drops little hints but as a reader you are not sure where the story is going. Elizabeth is a complex character who sets the tone for her deputies. I really enjoy the connection as detectives between Elizabeth and Lila, it really adds to the story.

Edith Smith, stage name Zarifah, loves belly dancing. But when her ex gets abusive and demands her to quit, she leaves him. Nobody will demand Edith to quit dancing or anything else for that matter. What a grand story. No Spoilers to be found here. A fresh new author has stepped into my library. This story is quick paced and action packed. The author touched on abuse and does so as to not offend others. Giving her characters the go on this subject. She made Edith stronger and Tony Loving, but more importantly she opened the eyes of the reader. I enjoyed reading this story and I am sure you will too.

This book is what dark romance is suppose to be!!! It had twists, turns, drama and revenge. It also had paranormal feel to it. The is was a great book and the story was everything. Dominic….sigh Dominic. This story has triggers but the plot and romance is amazing.

I’m not quite sure how I feel about this book and I’ve sat on my feelings for a few days. This is not at all a happy tale and we get some awful characters that were extremely well written. Troy, an adult who seems trapped inside his own adolescent mentality, has suffered abuse his entire life and seeks revenge on those that did him wrong. He struggles with his inner self throughout the book and tries to discover if he does carry the killer gene, something his ‘girlfriend’ Veronica said he had. Veronica is probably the worst and most tragic character of this book. I believe through Veronica’s odd behaviors and caring for his now paralyzed former abuser, Troy is able to answer his own inner turmoil questions. This story took us on a very dark ride of revenge and truths revealed. While it was a good story, it was a bit too dark for me at times.

Good, solid story. In this addition to the series, the author makes the Seal, Cutter, realize that finding someone that of value isn’t just about the other person. It is also about finding value in and valuing yourself.
Cutter knows that he is not ready to settle down, especially with the women he dates. Since the one broke his heart, casual is all Cutter wants. After several of his SEAL teammates find and marry women who understand that loving a SEAL isn’t easy and are willing to work at it, Cutter finds himself wondering if there could be someone out there for him.
Zarifah, her belly dancing name, realizes that her fiance is not who she thinks he is. Her now ex-fiance isn’t willing to let Zarifah go. Zarifah realizes that she never really knew him other than the face he presented and that he never wanted to know her more than the dancer persona, which is only part of who she is. As Zarifah makes positive steps away from that relationship, the ex is an ever-present dark cloud threatening her sunny skies.
The author gives Zarifah a guardian angel in Cutter. Cutter teaches Zarifah to use her pepper spray and be aware of her surroundings. Cutter helps Zarifah realize that the right one will see all that she is and enjoy all aspects of who she is. Zarifah teaches Cutter that the right one does exist. This is a cute story that has strong, positive themes built in. Solid performer in the series. Good read!
