I love nothing more than a steamy sports novel with a cabin scene! This book felt realistic and I loved how the main characters could really be honest with each other without judgement. We journey through their friendship while tension builds throughout the book, and I did not want to put it down! Good read for a snowy day by the fire and a cup of hot cocoa. Definitely recommend

This story of two old acquintances really started off with a bang, quickly throwing us into the lives of Beckett Miller and Paige “Andie” Anderson. After Beckett’s lifestyle quickly goes down the drain pretty fast with one bad choice after another, Paige meets him in the midst of his crash. Together, they slowly begin to bond as friends while Paige’s husband acts like a huge piece of trash. In between the opposite lifestyles, endearing similarities, and huge events occurring between the two, it’s a great and fast read to a HEA with a HEA sneak peek.

This is an enjoyable, slow build romance that focuses on the journey of the characters. I was a little hesitant when starting this book as I knew that Paige was already married and I tend to find cheating storylines unnecessary. I didn’t need to worry though as the author didn’t take that route and I found myself engaging with the book and the characters. I really do enjoy a sports romance and this one was no different. This book is all about the characters and the situations they find themselves in. It was great to watch their development over time and to see which way their journey took them. The book was fairly slowed paced but worked well for the story the author was trying to create. This is a thoroughly enjoyable book and I am looking forward to reading the next in the series.

I don’t know why I keep doing this to myself! I start reading a book only later to discover it is part of a series. I think I can read just the one but these authors must be Lays because you can’t read just one. This book had me feeling all the feels. I wanted to shake Beckett several times and ask him what the heck he was thinking but it turns out he absolutely was thinking about Andie.
Beckett has been the bad boy of hockey for a long time and while his career has taken minor hits, it has not been truly affected due to his antics. Until now. One mistake, one night he can’t forget. It will cost him everything and almost everyone. As Beckett is trying to right the sinking ship that is his life, he has a chance encounter with a blast from the past.
Paige is moving in the right direction. Her company is growing. She has new opportunities popping up almost everyday. She is in a loving marriage. Or so she thought until one phone call proves that she doesn’t know her husband after all. Paige has started a friendship with Beckett. Andie, as Beckett calls her, knows that friendship is all it can ever be because Beckett is and has always been a player. After being burned by her now ex-husband, Paige won’t take the chance on someone that will end up breaking her heart. There is so much more to this decision that Paige can’t admit to herself, starting with the strained relationship with her mother.
Throughout the friendship between Beckett and Andie, Beckett changes. They really get to know each other. Andie helps Beckett understand the errors of his ways. Beckett helps Andie push her limits. When Beckett realizes that he wants more will Andie agree?
This story was abso-effing-lutely fabulous. I am so in for the rest of this series. The chemistry between Andie and Beckett was electric. The characters are real. Beckett and Andie each face their own demons in such realistic ways. I am hooked. Bring me more hockey players and the strong women that love or might love them.

This was a great 5 star read. I love bad boys and this one pulled me right in. Both Paige and Beckett have some personal things going on. These two met in the past but fate brings them back together again. Can these two help each other? The ups and downs these two encountered had me on an emotional rollercoaster. I really enjoyed both of these characters. The author does a great job with her writing. If your looking for a great read that pulls you in, 1-click and get started today.

Beckett Miller had the life he wanted, wealthy hotshot pro hockey star who could have anything he wanted. That is until it all came crashing down around a drug incident. Now his team has dropped him, he is sent to a new team, his money is gone and his reputation is a walking ad on what not to do.
Paige Anderson is married and running her own company, lately things with her husband have been fairly one sided. Then she finds out he has been cheating. Beckett himself reconnecting with Paige. She is his chance to get is money back. He wants more but Paige wants a friend, as they get closer can she put her trust in Beckett or will this be another big blow up in her life?
I enjoyed this one. Fast paced story with a strong story. I wondered what would happen with Beckett because he is a hot mess and it takes time for him to realize how completely he has derailed his life. Paige I felt for, she is a fascinating lead character. Great story.

Wow I love this book so much! Becketts life is going down hill. Paige has her own company but is also dealing with personal issues as well. But Beckett and Paige meet (again) when they really needed one another. The way the author wrote these characters had me in love with them from the very start. Beckett may seem reckless but I love him! The way this book took ahold of me, is unreal. This book is emotional and heartbreaking but it’s also full of love and positivity. People can do better if they really want too! Just because someone made a few bad decisions doesn’t mean they’re a bad person! This is the first book by G.K. Brady and I didn’t realize this was part of a series, so I can’t wait to read more! Highly highly recommend!!!!!!

I didn’t know what to expect going into this book. I wasn’t sure if we were going to have an affair that led the main female character back to her family or if the bad boy hockey star was going to ruin a marriage and return to hockey. I know I am shortsighted when those were the only two outcomes I could think of. Let’s begin the journey that I took through this book without giving away anything (it can be done). So going in, I was already a little miffed with this book just because of the before mentioned outcomes that I could think of. I instantly fell in love with Beckett and Paige. They are both facing obstacles that would be tough for anyone to go through. I did not even fathom what was going to happen in this book and I am glad that I decided to give this book a chance. The love story that unfolds throughout the pages is amazing. There are parts of the book that made me wrinkle my nose because I didn’t care for what was happening but I persevered through the book and it has the most amazing ending I didn’t even think would be possible. I have to give this a 5 star rating because the author did an amazing job with touchy subject matter. It really made me realize that there is away more to the picture than just what can be seen in the black and white. They grey area that lives around what can and should be done is where this story thrives. This book made me feel as if I was part of the story. I even got snippy with anyone who tried to dare interrupt me while reading this. The author has shown me that I must give every book a chance even. if I think I know what is going to happen. Whether the ending was one that I predicted or something completely different, when you read this book you will enjoy the journey the characters take and the amount of growth they have. The book is really well written and kept me turning pages. There is some angst, some steam, love, heartache, and growth all throughout this book. You will not be disappointed with this read.

I absolutely loved Beckett and Paige’s story. The connection they share, the fierce protectiveness he has for her, the way she falls SO hard without even being able to admit it to herself.
This book holds all you can want. Some spice, the romance, and angst. It keeps you on your toes, and makes you want to keep reading until it’s done.
Beckett and Paige have this undeniable connection, right from the start. He’s a player, she’s a hardworking, one man kinda woman. Can she be the one to change his ways? Or will he forever be the ‘all-nighter’

I thought this book was very well written. I loved it from beginning to end. Beckett Miller was the epitome of bad boy. He had the gorgeous body, rippling muscles, NHL Star, was a player with a capitol P, was into drugs…you Name it! His life came to a screeching halt one night when a girl he partied with ended up in a bad place. His life was gone as he knew it. He went from partying every night, expensive liquor to unemployed, drinking the cheap stuff and no money for anything. He ran into Paige…who he went to college with years ago. They became friends and Beckett was there for her as a best friend when she went thru something horrible. Andie aka Paige also was there for Beckett while he battled everything going on and tried to get his career back. They were like best friends. The chemistry was there for both of them but, there were other things more important for both of them to focus on. I loved most of the characters in the book, loved how everything went down. Definitely a 5 star read for me. Looking forward to more in the series.

Taming Beckett is the first book in The Playmakers series by G.K. Brady. This is the first time I have read any of Ms. Brady’s work so I was quite interested to see what I would find. It is a contemporary sports romance following Beckett Miller, a disgraced hockey player who’s hit rock-bottom- his life spiralling out of control by being caught up in one-to-many scandals. Then enters unlucky in love real estate agent Paige Anderson, and things start to look up. These two knew each other in college, but ten years has passed since then. Both have been burned, and both need someone they can trust. What does fate have in store for them? I really wanted to love this book, and it really should have ticked all the boxes for me- but unfortunately, I just couldn’t connect with the characters which made it quite difficult to invest in their story. Also, the storyline was quite slow in places which resulted in pulling me out of the story, as I had found my mind wandering quite a lot. I had to continually force my focus back on the story, as it hadn’t pulled me in the way I hoped it would. As I have been on a bit of a thriller binge lately, maybe that’s why I haven’t connect with this book. So, I have decided that I will revisit it again in a few weeks to see if I still feel the same way, or if I was just having an ‘off’ reading day. So don’t let me put you off grabbing a copy and having your own opinion on the book… Stay tuned…

A bad boy hockey player almost destroys his career with his reckless choices. While having to pick up the pieces he meets or remeets Paige a girl from college. Fairly predictable and slow at times, but not a bad read at all. There are several more books in the series so I am curious about where the author goes from here.

Taming Beckett, should’ve been called Taming Beckett While Finding Myself. Actually Taming Beckett is better, but that’s exactly what this book is about. Learning about one’s true self. I thoroughly enjoyed what the author wrote and if I’m being honest I can’t wait to dig into book 2 as well as the rest of this series! Beckett is spiraling quickly into rock bottom. He’s losing his hockey career, he lost his restaurant, he lost all his money and his drug addiction almost killed someone. Paige has her company and a marriage she’s trying to save. A husband she loves but he’s always traveling for work, or so she thought. When these two meet again Beckett unloads on her, not realizing who she is. But in the end these two may be what each other needs. It might take some time but Beckett remembers Paige, well Andie as he called her, she’s the only one who ever told him “no.” A budding friendship forms between these two broken souls. Broken long before their current life situations. The author takes one on adventure while these two discover who they truly are and what makes them happiest. The growth by both characters is beautifully written, especially Beckett. This is one of those books I didn’t want to put down. I only did because I had no choice and now that I’m done I want more!

Taming Beckett is a sports romance tale, and we all know that sports romances have bad boys at the helm and this one is no different.
Broken and down on his luck but of his own doing NHL bad boy Beckett Miller is on the verge of losing it all. Turning to his friend to see if she can help him turn it all around, he discovers much more than he thought he could.
I liked Beckett and Paige and the trials and tribulations they were going through. The chemistry there and They were good for each other, but I found that I could not fully immerse myself in their story. The pacing felt a little too slow at times and a little drawn out leaving me wanting more. Having said that I will be catching up on the next books in the series to see where GK takes it. There are nine books to the series, so it is bound to get exciting?
If you like contemporary sports romances, then give this book a try.

Great book in a new series, by a most amazing author! I could not put this one down, as I was held tightly with the characters, and what they faced, who they were and who they became, it was a good book!
Paige and Beckett-needed each other, in more than one way! They had to rely on one another at first glance, to help achieve goals. Character building was spot on. Chemistry was hot, hot, and did I mention hot? I loved how differences aside, a great team was made, but even off the ice, hearts can melt with the right amount of bliss. Both of them had troubles, be it past trust or habits in general, loved how they pushed thru those fear and issues to really see what they had going on between them. I love sports reads, and this one really amazed me. Good build not too fast and not too slow! Perfect! Loved it!
Such a good read, and highly must say, if you have not picked this wonderful book as of yet, up, you seriously must! The author also had amazing writing skill! Highly recommend this must read book/author!

A tale of second chance romance. Beckett is realizing that the way he’s been living is life is ruining his career and his life. He has to go back to Denver and basically start over having been downgraded to the minor leagues. Paige, a home renovator, remembers him from school. She is the coach’s real estate agent. Let’s just say the chemistry is still there , though Beckett takes a little longer to remember and Paige has some baggage to lose. The story is entertaining and heartfelt. You feel Beckett’s suffering and Paige’s heartbreak as she realizes that her spouse doesn’t support her. These two belong together and they have a long road back to each other. There are misadventures and misunderstandings. There is relationship trouble that must be worked out. Can they do it? I felt they could. This is a must read. The characters are true to life and very relatable. It is fun to read about anything in Colorado, being a Colorado girl. The plot was smooth and flowed well. A wonderful story that is a must read. Well-written and enjoyable.

Beckett Miller’s hedonistic lifestyle just got iced. After a high-profile fall from grace over a drug scandal, the aging pro hockey superstar finds himself without a team, dropped from endorsements, and completely broke. Desperate to turn his home into cash, the league’s bad boy is forced to work with a real estate agent with a megawatt smile … and who he’d just made a spectacular fool of himself with.
Paige Anderson’s sales success hasn’t translated to relationships. With her husband becoming more distant, Paige is pulling out all the stops to keep her marriage together, and the last thing she desires is to have a scandal-plagued playboy athlete as a client. But the high commission she’ll get from the sale seems worth it … especially when he unexpectedly becomes a shoulder to cry on.
Surprised when he develops feelings for the beautiful realtor, Beckett decides it’s time to clean up his act and plan for the future. And though Paige can’t stop thinking about the troubled all-star, she worries he’ll betray her like every other man in her life.
Can this damaged duo put aside their fears and take a slapshot at love?
Since childhood, all sorts of stories and characters have lived in G.K. Brady’s imagination, elbowing one another for attention. She’s thrilled (as are they) to bring them to life. She loves telling tales of these less-than-perfect heroes and heroines who transform with each turn of a page, while adding healthy helpings of spice and humor along the way.
G.K. is a recovering real estate professional and the proud mom of three grown sons who wholeheartedly support her but never read her novels—which is probably for the best.
When she’s not writing, you might find her reading, listening to music, drinking wine, or chasing rabbits out of her garden … sometimes all at once. She currently resides in Colorado with her own hero: her very patient husband who welcomes her wacky characters to the dinner table with open arms and mind.
