Another really cute and fun story about Cray on the Bay and his friends. The authors lovely rhyme throughout the story is so engaging and my 4 year old loved the story. There is a great moral to the story to about lying and how it is always better to tell the truth, something that we always teach children so this story would be a great starting point to encourage discussions about the subject. Again the story was accompanied by beautiful, colourful illustrations that complement it well.

This is another great book for littles. In this story it helps teach kids that need to pick up their trash when they are out on the beach. Cray sees all these people coming to the beach to have fun. The more that show up the more trash shows up on the beach and water. Cray and his friends make a plan to gather all the trash to clean up the beach.

Seal Gray is playing with his beach ball when he loses control of it. Several things transpire from that and Gray finds himself in a situation where he’s lying about the ball being his. This book focuses on telling the truth and preserving friendships.
The illustrations in this book are very colorful and attractive. Be sure to show anyone you are reading this to the pictures. If a young reader is reading to you, use that as a teachable moment about items in the pictures, as well as the story itself.

What a fun and entertaining story this is. I loved the premise of the book and what is teaches children. I also loved how engaging the illustrations were. They are definitely what caught my kids attention first. We all enjoyed sitting and reading this book as a family, even reading it multiple times already. It is always a joy to find a new author my kids like and, based on the last couple of books, I can definitely say we have found another one. We are all looking forward to reading more from this author, especially if they are as good as this one.

A New Day for Cray is the 2nd book I’ve read with my 7 year old in this series (The Adventures of Cray on the Bay). Cray is a mean little crab at the start of this book! He pinches all his friends, and they do not like it. I’m glad he had a transformation and learned his lesson- and taught a lesson to all the young readers regarding friendship and kindness. All his friends names rhyme, which my son thought was cool. We have Fay (turtle), Ray (seagull) and Hay (fox). The illustrations in this book are lovely; so fun and colorful. After reading this book, we had to do some research on crabs loosing their claws. Then went back to the other Cray book we read (Cray Saves the Day), to see if he had 2 claws in that story. I love this series and my son can’t wait to read the rest.

Cray Saves the Day is a cute book from the Adventures of Cray on the Bay series. The book teaches kids to take care of the earth- don’t litter and clean up after yourselves. It presents an important topic, in a way that is easy for the young readers to understand. It would be great for Earth Day or responsibility topics presented to youngsters. The book is rhyming and has a lot of characters, who each have their own book (we plan to read later). My 7 year old read the book to me without assistance so it would be great for early elementary students. The illustrations are bright and colorful.

In this fun, child’s book you follow a crab that enjoys being mean and pinches everyone. This story teaches children how being mean doesn’t help them get friends. The rhyming helps get the repetition in their head of why they shouldn’t be. It is a great little book that many ages will enjoy but children need to hear it slightly more than most adults.

I do not want to give the story away or any spoilers, but this story is more for baby – 7 years of age, this could be enjoyed even if you are young at heart….and learning a valuable lesson too that we could take to heart.

Beach Ball Blunder is another wonderful and exciting book from G Pa that kids will fall in love with.
Not only is it a fun tale but it teaches children that things that they do or say have consequences. It is a good opening to discuss these things with your kids and help them learn. Friendship, trust, forgiveness and truthfulness are very powerful things for children to learn from the get-go. The bright and colourful illustrations by the talented Erica Leigh bring the narrative alive and is as catching as the rhyming the story is told in. Read along as Gray learns a very valuable lesson. This cute story is full of fun and is easy to read.

We loved A New Day For Cray. It was such a fun, rhyming, kid friendly way to take a look at bullying! So well illustrated. Cray was such a bully to his friends just because he could but Hay stood her ground and explained to him that as friends they would always be there but they didn’t like the way he treated them. Poor Cray had a healthy dose of karma before he realized that what Hay said was right and all his friends agreed. I really like the author/illustrators bio at the end and how G PA Rhymes was a fun, grandkid loving, rapping, rhyming Grandpa whose kids encouraged him to publish these. They are great stories.

This was a great read for my little and I. I love that it rhymed (keeps the kiddo interested) and it had a great teachable lesson, to always be kind or “karma” finds a way to you. All of Cray’s friends were tired of being pinched, but when Cray loses his “pinching” claw, they still showed him kindness and true friendship. The characters are cute and illustrations are great. Will definitely read more from this story line and author.
