This story takes you back to an age where races did not mix, slaves were a status symbol and the elite were almost untouchable. They lived by their own rules and lesser classes bowed to them. Reading this story was reflective and very well written. I escaped instantly and was captivated by the formation and evolution of the characters and it was a truly humbling experience. A very well thought out and provocative tale that will be enjoyed by many, I am sure. 4 stars.
The Billionaire’s Slave by Stacy-Deanne. This book was different and hard to read. The slavery period was a difficult time for a lot of people but this story made something positive out of a bad time. Its about Penny who is a slave. The family she works for loves her but they also make sure she knows her place. She is family in some ways but not all. In 1864 South Carolina slaves could not say no to a white man, woman or child. If and when they did it was with dire consequences. Penny is sold to a white man named Leon Falcon because he wants her. He plans to teach her, train her and have his way with her but he didn’t include feelings becoming involved. Penny has her own plans and she teaches Leon far more than he could ever teach her. The problem with them falling in love is their kind of relationship is unheard of in those days. There is really no way they can see it working out. Is there any possible way they can be together. Things don’t look good for them but if anyone can make it work they can.
An enjoyable and engaging historical romance which had me hooked from page one. The author manages to bring a period of history vividly to life with her descriptive narrative and historical details, which made me feel immersed in the era and the setting. Set in a time when white men had black slaves and black women could not say no to a white man, this is South Carolina in 1864. Slave Penny is sold to Leon Falcon, who decided to buy her because he wanted her. Leon’s plan was to buy her, teach her and then take her, but he soon discovers that Penny has her own plans. Although Leon has slaves he does look after them and he soon finds himself falling in love with Penny. However, their relationship is unheard of at that time and they face many obstacles, but they love each other and are determined that they will not be separated. I loved Penny as a character, she’s strong and determined and very likeable and relatable. The chemistry between her and Leon sizzles off the page and I liked how there relationship developed despite the obvious complications. This is a heartwarming and at times heartbreaking romance which I literally could not put down.

Leon Falcon has had his eye on Penny since the first moment he saw her. A gentleman of his standing would usually woo a woman, court her, and gain her father’s approval. Falcon, on the other hand, doesn’t have to do any of that with Penny because she’s a slave in 1864 South Carolina and can’t say no to him or any other white guy. Falcon’s strategy is straightforward: first, he’ll purchase her. He’ll show her how to do it. He’s going to take her after that. Penny exposes his heart to a love so great that it transcends every force that dares to break them apart, and he quickly discovers he’s the student.
I loved this story. I loved every page of it. Every chapter was exciting. This is my third book from this author and I can’t wait to read more of her books.
I loved this book! Historical romance is my favourite genre and it was nice to read a historical romance set in a different country to the ones I usually read. I have read a few books by this author now and I really enjoy her writing style but I have to say I think that this one is definitely my favourite so far. I was completely hooked from beginning to end. Leon and Penny’s story was so captivating and I think it is because of the time it was set and the way their relationship would have been viewed is hard for us now to understand in the time period I which we live in now. The passion and chemistry between the two characters was undeniable and you could tell that their feelings were genuine. I really did enjoy this story and would absolutely recommend it to other readers.
I was a little apprehensive going into this as I was wary of the master-slave dynamic during this time period. What I found, however was a beautiful love story. Master Falcon has absolutely no issue going against the norm and calling out how others opinions of right and wrong don’t align with his. Penny gives off the vibe that she is young and naïve, but she is clear with what she wants, and knows more that she is given credit for. The love story itself was very spicy and beautiful. It had me invested from the beginning and rooting for true love to win out above all else! There were some parts that were hard to read, and some very close calls. Check your trigger warnings, but definitely give this book a shot. I will be looking into more books by this author for sure.
This is such a beautiful unexpected romance. I really enjoyed this book. It transported me back to a time when slaves were treated like property and had no rights of their own. Leon felt a pull towards Penny from the moment he first laid eyes on her, and she couldn’t get him out of her mind either. They quickly grow closer and both want more than a slave master relationship. They face so many obstacles along the way and the depth of their love for each other takes my breath away. This is a beautiful romance that pulled me in from the very first page and I can’t wait to read more from this author.

The Billionaires Slave was a different kind of book for me. For one it deals with several sensitive topics at once. Racial tensions, slavery, and sex. Second, it’s set in a different time. People talked and acted very different, but even while acknowledging that, I struggled with some of the language. I don’t think this is a book that’s for everyone. I couldn’t put it down, but there was times I wanted to. Overall, I thought the author did a great job with characterization and plot.

It is an historical romance story, set in the 1860’s in South Carolina in which interracial relations between white male slave owners and enslaved blacks where women are ripe for the picking. Their illicit attraction soon turns into so much more against all odds. At times the narrative is gripping and intense and is quick read. It is full of action, drama, suspense, and romance. The authors descriptive narrative brings to life the characters and the setting of the life back then. It is almost like a history lesson. Whilst the story is good, I still find it hard reading about slavery and their treatment. He is a gentleman but one look and obsessed with her and will have her at all costs.
The Billionaire’s Slave by Stacy Deanne is all about defying the odds and finding love in uncertain and difficult circumstances. In a time when their love is considered taboo, Stacy Deanne shows us that love always wins. Another wonderful love story from this talented author. Note: this is not a story about slavery, it is however a sublime love story that happens to be set in the slavery era. Well done! Happy reading!

This insanely amazing cross between todays favorite style of romance with a little darkness to it and historical romance. I was hooked from the first page and could not put this book down! It was well written and so entertaining! The perfect book to cozy up and get lost in! I fell head over heels for the characters and am probably gonna reread it again and again! Loved it!!!

This was a great 5 star read, I was pulled in right from the beginning. The author does a great job with her writing. I loved the characters and enjoyed reading their story, my emotions were all over the place.
The story is written during the slavery era. Leon was owed a debt in which he chose to take Penny. He had plans for her but what he didn’t expect was Penny would turn the tables on him and his heart. We get several twists and turns that added a great element to the story.
Overall I really enjoyed this read. Having visited a plantation myself and learning history of the relationships between female slaves and their owners it was a nice twist from reality. I look forward to reading more from this author. 1-click and get started today.
The Billionaire’s Slave: Steamy Historical BWWM Romance by Stacy-Deanne
This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. The author has once again out done themselves. The Billionaire’s Slave had me hooked from the beginning. Leon and Penny made me wonder about what really happened with people like the characters.
Leon is a Slave owner, but he’s not like most. His slaves are treated well and not like the other slaves. When he goes to collect money only to find out that they don’t have it. He wants their last slave, but he doesn’t only want her as a slave. The quote I chose for Leon is: “Oh, no I wanted the baby, but I just didn’t think it was the right time. I had everything, Penny. Everything a man could want. I took it for granted and lost it. Men envy me for my money but I’d trade it all away to have my baby. My precious baby.”
Penny has been with Rose’s family since she can remember. When she learns that her Master has sold her she is happy. Can she and Leon have a relationship? Will they last? The quote I chose for Penny is: “I’s love Massa Falcon with everything in my heart and as long as we knows we married, that’s all that matters. Ain’t you always sayin’ we’s can’t let society tell us what to do?”
I really enjoyed this novel from a newer author that I have enjoyed getting to know. This one really snagged my full attention from the very first few pages and had me hooked until that ‘the end’ that I so much wanted but also didn’t want at the same time. This book really pulls from some of the darkest days in our history with slavery and the love story that this author creates with Leon and Penny I promise will captivate you and make you find a shimmer of hope in this dark time. I fell in love with both of them and could appreciate both of their struggles. I was rooting for them to find the way to heal and somehow find love. This was such an amazing read and I cannot wait to see what we will get next!
The Billionaire’s slave is a well written steamy romance. This is not the first book that ive read by this author and once again i was not disappointed in this book. The Billionaire’s slave takes us back to 1864 in South Carolina and as a historical romance fan i was excited to read this book. I really loved reading about Penny and Leon and their interactions with each other. I thought Penny Had an amazing Personally and truly enjoyed her character. If you are fan of Historical Romance, you will enjoy this read. I look forward to reading more books by this author. Thank you again for another great read.
I loved this take on a historical romance novel. It is the first time I have read a book that is done in this manner. I felt like the author really transported me as the reader to this time. The characters are everything in this story. The whole thing really is about them and their journey. I was lost in their story from start to finish. This book is well written and interesting. I think this is definitely my favourite by this author so far.
This is the 2nd book I’ve read by this author and she is a phenomenal writer. She writes the most beautiful interracial love stories. I love that the language used in the story reflected the time period that the story was set in. I loved that when it came to some of the relationships, sex and sexuality there where some things explored in the story that could be considered taboo now and would have been highly taboo in that time period. Overall the characters were great, the storyline was great, such a good read. Can’t wait to read more stories like this.
This is a really good historical BWWM romance by an author that I have enjoyed reading several times now. Historical romance is a genre that I’m now enjoying more and more but this book is different from those I have read before. This book is set in America in the time that black people were given their freedom. I have to admit that when I started reading it, I found the use of the ‘n’ word quite hard to read, even though it was coming from a character of colour. I did realise however that this term was used at the time the book was set in and didn’t have the taboo element that is does now. I did really enjoy reading Leon and Penny’s story. It was very interesting and entertaining to read of a romance between a white man and a black woman at this pivotal time in history and how others saw their relationship was very enlightening. This is a very hot and steamy read, as once they get together, Leon and Penny can’t keep their hands off each other. So if you enjoy a hot steamy romance then this book is for you.

This was great! It had steamy romance, a clever, strong female, and an interesting story line. I loved that Penny has a strong will and is curious. She shows strength, courage, and determination with Falcon. He bought her to teach her but she teaches him a different world. The flows wonderfully throughout the book.
I never can get enough of this amazing and their books! They always give so much, and keep you interested as you read. This one was no different. I loved the historical side to the story. The romance was true bliss, and was not forced at all. Really enjoyed this one.
For me, Leon and Penny were something I thought at first glance, that were never to have a chance with what they could have between them. i loved penny’s personality who could melt the coldest of hearts. And Leon who wanted what he saw and admired, but never expected his walls to crumble. The story was very engaging. The romance was very real and I enjoyed the build up and how things progressed. There was a lot of historical additions to the story that made it very realistic. Very much an amazing read!
This is for sure one of my most favorite books by this wonderful author. I really fell in love with the story and the characters. It was beautiful and haunting, and kept me in anticipation wanting more. I highly recommend this gifted author, and of course this amazing addictive book of a story!
This book kind of tears your heart out because it deals with the life of slaves and how hard it was in a way. The romance between Penny and Leon felt doomed from the start but he felt he could buy her because she was property. I felt a lot of emotions in reading this story because Rose and her mom adored Penny. They didn’t want to give her up. Penny had to go with the flow. She showed Falcon what love could be like. The whole slave thing was such a challenge. They found a way even with it being hard. Terrific book that I would recommend. It is definitely steamy so if you offend easily, it may not be for you. I would give it more than a 5 if I could. I loved it all.
This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites so far. One of the things I enjoy most about this author is her writing style and her ability to pull me into the story from the beginning. This book is no different. This is a historical romance story that kept me turning pages to the end. The characters are not only connectable but also brought the story to life. They are strong, determined and have great chemistry. Their growth throughout the story made the story easy and entertaining to read. Leon is determined from the first time he has seen Penny to make her his. The one thing that pulls them together, could be the one thing that could tear them apart. This is a great story that I had a hard time putting down. I really enjoyed this book and what Leon and Penny brought to the story. This author did a great job of giving us details to make the story pop. I highly recommend this book, it is worth the pick up.
The was a really lovely romance about two people who shouldnt be together by law but who defy all laws and opinions to be happy. Its set in a era when slave Labour was allowed. When white men owned black slaves. White men could sleep with their slaves but fall in love with them was a huge no. That was until Penny and Leon met. Penny was a black slave for the Conrad family and when Mr Conrad had a debt to pay back to Leon , Leon chose to take payment in the form of Penny.
In his mind Penny would be easy to train to become his next bed partner but what he doesn’t expect is that she will make the rules and eventually steal his heart.
There are several twists and turns in this story which keeps the reader guessing if they will ever get their happy ever after. It also shines a light on life at that time and how hard it was for black people to have a free life. When you can’t love the person you want to because of legal and dire consequences it makes for a challenging and sometimes heartbreaking story.
Excellent period novel! I truly loved this story and fell in love with the characters right away! Penny is amazing, they life she has to live day to day with the Conrads and still hoping for better one day. The Conrad family were terrible, treating Penny like family but still wanting her to “know her place”. I think maybe the mother, Catherine, was okay but was influenced a lot by her husband and society. Rose is the WORST!! She is the definition of a terrible, manipulative and selfish person. When Falcon and Penny got together, I finally had hope for a better future for Penny, watching their love grow was so sweet. I feel like Falcon truly did love her with everything he had, and when it came down to denying her or face possible trouble, it was no surprise how it turns out. Falcon will fight for his love for Penny and for them to be together no matter what the law says or how people view their relationship. The ending was my favorite part and awesome! It really showed the selfish nature of Rose and Penny is able to speak her mind.
Usually, a gentleman of his stature would woo a woman, court her and get her father’s blessing. But Falcon doesn’t have to do any of that with Penny because it’s 1864 South Carolina, she’s a slave, and she can’t say no to him or any white man.
Falcon’s plan is simple: first, he’s going to buy her. He’s going to teach her. And then he’s going to take her. But it isn’t long before he realizes he’s the student once Penny opens his heart to a love so powerful, it transcends every force that dares to tear them apart.
