The Confectioner Chronicles: The Complete Fantasy Mystery SeriesThe Confectioner Chronicles: The Complete Fantasy Mystery Series by Claire Luana
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I give The Confectioner Chronicles: The Complete Fantasy Mystery Series by Claire Luana, 5 stars.

This series is centered around Wren, a teenage girl who has had a rough start to life. The only thing she is good at is baking. She is an apprentice at a bakery and it’s not the best life, but it’s better than she’s had. Then she gets the dream of her life — a chance to be in the Confectioner’s Guild. It is a dream come true. But the dream quickly turns bad. She is thrust into suspicion and plots beyond what she can believe. Things seem darker as the books continue, but Wren quickly learns to believe in herself and trust in her friends. Can they turn things around and make it better for all the people who live there? Or will the price be too large?

This series is incredible. It is unlike anything I have read before and the author weaves a world that feels so real, you quickly become part of it. This is a series for all ages, not just young adult. The characters are great! There are some you love and others you love to hate. Plus you really see them grow as the series moves on.

If you are a fan of magic, great worlds, and excellent characters, this series is for you and I highly recommend it.

The Confectioner Chronicle by Claire Luana
5 stars!!!!!

I have to say that this series is a really great read. Whether you are sat on a beach or just relaxing at home this is a perfect read. I enjoyed this series a lot even though it wasn’t my go to genre. I really like how the author was able to weave just enough drama and intrigue into the story. Each book blends right with the one before it.

Book 1
The Confectioner’s Guild (The Confectioner Chronicles book 1) by Clarie Luana

What can I say but I absolutely have fallen for this series. The author has such a unique way of
bringing the characters to life and I felt as though I was actually in the story. The refreshing
way that you are drawn into the book and just feel as though you are escaping into the world that the author has developed. I just couldn’t put this book down.

I really felt drawn to Wren from the very start. The drama that unfolds around her brings you to
the edge of your seat with anticipation. I liked how the author was able to not only throw in drama and intrigue but also weaved in just the touch of romance to boot. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Wren, Sable and Hale. Into the mix you have the chemistry between Wren and Lucas. The whole dynamic just adds to the intrigue in the book. I really cannot wait for the next book in this series. To get to delve more into the lives of the Confectioners and their world alongside the other guilds and see where the magic leads.

Book 2
The Confectioner’s Coup (Confectioner Chronicles Book 2) by Claire Luana

I am once again no let down. This is the second book in this series and the third book including the prequel to the series that I have read. The author really has such a great way of grabbing the reader and keeping you at the edge of your seat. I really found myself getting lost in this magical confectioner’s world she has created.

Book 3
The Confectioner’s Truth (Confectioner Chronicles Book 3) by Claire Luana

I couldn’t wait to get delved into this book and boy I wasn’t disappointed. This is the third book in the series and fourth one I have read by this author. The books just keep getting better and better. I was drawn in from the first page and couldn’t put the book down.

The author does such a wonderful job of keeping the drama going from book to book. There seems to be a smooth transition from the fist straight through to the third book in this series. To get to follow more the lives of Wren and her fellow confectioners as the head into the pending war kept me glued to the edge of my seat. The way that the drama unfolds keeps your attention. I wasn’t disappointed as I continued to read as the drama unfolded in this book. I really will be reading more from this author in the future and hopefully there will be more in this series.

I have to say that the more I read about Wren’s life the more I really find I am drawn to her character. She has gone through so much in her short time in the Guild and then to have to endure more. She is a very strong leading character and the author does such a great job of developing her character around the drama that unfolds. I really felt all the emotions vicariously as Wren went through them and in this book she has a roller coaster of them. She winds up losing so much and yet she still has Lucas. I really felt my heart in my throat as the book came to the ending and once again to have the book on a cliff hanger of sorts really has me anxious for the next book in the series. I will definitely be reading more from this author and the series.

The characters just seem to jump right out of the pages and into your imagination. I felt as though I was part of the action as it all unfolded. I really found the concept of the series to be quite unique and refreshing. The story is quite well written and easy to read. I definitely recommend this sereies and this author.

The Confectioner Chronicles: The Complete Fantasy Mystery Series contains all the instalments of The Confectioner’s Chronicles by Claire Luana. This is a really wonderful, imaginative and beautifully written series- with fantasy, mystery, magic, intrigue, adventure, danger, suspense, humour, fun, heartache, tension, conflict, hostile enemies, disappearances, investigations, romance, food, surprises, twists, drama, and action. I have adored all Ms. Luana’s books, and this series is no exception! She really knows how to weave a spellbinding story that hooks her readers right from the beginning.

The series consists of:
-The Confectioner’s Guild (Book #1)
-The Confectioner’s Coup (Book #2)
-The Confectioner’s Truth (Book #3)
-The Confectioner’s Exile (Prequel Novella)

The characters are so beautifully crafted- quirky, fully realised individuals who continued to develop and grow over the course of the series. They were so enchanting and added an extra element of appeal and interest to the whole story.
Ms Luana has created a unique and wonderful world in which to set her story. Her imagination seems to know no bounds as she brings so many creative and unique elements to her storylines. It’s so wonderfully written- full of visual texture and intricate detailing. The story is complex- with many layers, all beautifully interwoven and stitched together quite seamlessly to produce these delightful reads.

All I can say is WOW- this series is well worth the read!

Thank you, Ms. Luana!

By: Claire Luana
5 out of 5 stars

This is a series that I loved reading. It has all four of the stories in the Confectioner Chronicle series that are fun and entertaining to read. It has wonderful characters that I fell in love with and wanted them to succeed in whatever they did. There is action, danger, romance, and suspense in these books. There are times when I was turning pages wondering what was going to happen next. I loved the character of Wren. She is strong, intelligent, and independent. Her story is one that pulled me in from the very beginning and didn’t let me go until I read the final page of the final story. This is a YA fantasy novel and I loved how the books included magic and mystery. Besides Wren, there are other characters that I grew to care about and enjoyed reading about them and their interactions with Wren. Many of them are helpful to her. Then there are those with their own agenda what will do anything to make their plans and agenda happen. Don’t miss out on an exciting series that you won’t be able to put down. I highly recommend it. The stories that are included in this set are The Confectioner’s Guild/The Confectioners Coup/The Confectioner’s Truth/The Confectioner’s Exile.

The Confectioner Chronicles: The Complete Fantasy Mystery Series by Claire Luana – Review by Jenni Bishop

The Confectioner Chronicles: The Complete Fantasy Mystery SeriesThe Confectioner Chronicles: The Complete Fantasy Mystery Series by Claire Luana
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Confectioner Chronicles: The Complete Fantasy Mystery Series by Claire Luana is a unique YA fantasy, thriller, romance series that is full of magic and the unusual and should not be missed. It is also a murder mystery that is action packed and well paced. Claire weaves her magic with just the right amount of mystery and suspense, action and danger, romance and intrigue, heartache and love, humour and fun. I enjoyed the story so much that it finished before I was ready and I didn’t even notice because I was so enthralled to find out what was going to happen next.
In book 1 Wren was falsely accused of murder by cupcake and has a month to find out who framed and who the actual murderer is and clear her name.

In book 2 Wren having barely survived, she is having to face enemies, both old and new as she tries to solve the mystery behind disappearing Guild members.

In book 3 Wren is heartbroken and still reeling from the loss and betrayal of others. On the run, tired, scared, hurt and faced with her past all the while the political unrest continues and Wren wonders if she will ever have her family back and lead a normal life again.

This series should be on everyone’s reading list. I mean books in one stop what could be better.

The Confectioner's Truth (Confectioner Chronicles Book 3)The Confectioner’s Truth
ByClaire Luana
My Rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Confectioner’s Truth (The Confectioner Chronicles #3) by Claire Luana was an epic conclusion to a equally epic series.

The final book in The Confectioner Chronicles, we are taking to the secrets that Wren hides, and ones we finally get to learn the full truth about. Picking up almost where the last book leaves off, there is no stopping this epic fantasy. As the danger lurks closer, the suspense thickened, I was on the edge of my seat for most, I at times even forgot to breathe! This book, was damn near perfect, and as much as I didn’t want to leave this world, or these characters, all things must come to a end. I have to say, as this being one of my favorite series of 2018, I’m feeling pretty satisfied with the ending.

There is nothing else to say, outside of the wonderful detail and the top notch writing that is consistent throughout the series. This is a series to all, and I highly recommend you get your hands on it. Please take my golden stamp of approval, that you will get lost in this beautiful, wonderful world of magic, betrayal, love and above all, friendship.

Happy Reading

The Confectioner's Truth (Confectioner Chronicles Book 3)The Confectioner’s Truth by Claire Luana
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Confectioner’s Truth is the third novel in the Confectioner Chronicles series. This is my fifth novel by this author.

Two weeks after the events of the second novel, Wren and her group are exploring new lands.

Going through a period of self-doubt, Wren has to come to terms with her previous bad decisions. She feels the weight of her loss and wonders what to do next. She has been a character that I have really enjoyed reading about. Her growth over the course of the three books has been amazing to read with me rooting for her and wondering how this story will end.

Wren has made a lot of decisions but now she has to pull herself together in order to save Alessa.

I can’t describe in words how this novel has made me feel. Feeling a maelstrom of emotions and sad to see this end but it was a satisfied ending.

For anyone looking for something new to read with an amazing premise and relatable characters, I highly recommend this.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The story The Confectioner’s Truth (Confectioner Chronicles Book 3) by Claire Luana is a mix of fantasy and thrill ride. The story continues with Wren and the members of the guild. There is a new ruler who is beyond bad. He rules like a madman and things are not stable for anyone. I recommend reading the other books in the series. The characters have grown and matured through the course of the series. I enjoy Wren because she is not cocky or self-centered. She is unsure of herself and does not always make the best decisions. She is rash at times and at other times she is centered and in total control. These traits make her easy to relate. There are many past characters who are back and some new ones as well. This is a great series that I enjoyed reading. I am sad to see it end but will be watching for new books from this author in the future.

What a great end to this book. The author truly knew how to pull you into this story. The magic alone would’ve been good. But the author added the twists and turns. Love, death, tragedy and sweets made this story even better. Wren was really brave even though she didn’t do very much. She has been. Through a lot in this story and I was glad with how it ended. 5 out of 5 stars

This book is action packed, fast paced, and heart pounding. Long after I had finished this book, I was still feeling the affects of the twists and turns this story took. Wren is back at it with her friends, companions and allies. Two weeks after the events from the last book (which if you have not read, you should stop everything that you are doing and go read Book 1 and Book 2) Wren and her group are out exploring the new lands. We meet a few new characters who add a lot of depth and interaction to the already well established characters in this book and those what have been in the entire series.

Wren goes through a period of self doubt. She has made some grievous and very costly mistakes in the recent past and she is trying to learn from them without letting them shake her. A feat easier said than done. I loved the different points of view within this story and appreciated the different aspects that each one brought to the story. My heart broke for those who suffered major loss and I was angry for those who felt that they were on the outside of justice.

Overall this book is fantastic. This was an amazing conclusion to this beautifully written series and this author did a fantastic job closing this series, with no loose ends. I recommend this entire series for all thriller/romance/mystery/suspense lovers.

The Confectioner’s Coup by Claire Luana is the second book in the Confectioner Chronicles series. I recommend having read the first book first because this picks up the story from the first book. The story continues for Wren and things are not looking good for her and others in the guild. Guild members are going missing and the King is out of control. My Rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Confectioner’s Coup (The Confectioner Chronicles #2) by Claire Luana was just as good as the first and, had me just as engaged and hooked.

The second book in The Confectioner Chronicles we are once again tossed back into the fire. With the happenings all concluded in the first and Wren being aquitted for a crime she didn’t even commit, things seems like they’re on the up. But, with this world and the way their monarchy works, things don’t stay quiet for long.

I will say that I was a little worried that this book may not live up to the first. As that first book was a rare read first installment where things actually concluded, and if the series were to end at that book, even with its loose ends, I would have been content. (As all first books should be). But this book has done what I’ve been yearning for, it went in and rose the bar. That’s right, this book took it up a notch and, man oh man, this was one hell of a ride.

Masterfully written this beautiful dangerous world isn’t like anything I have read before. It just keeps hitting me with new fresh ideas and plots, that I can’t believe this book, this series, isn’t more popular. Not only are we treated with talented writing but, the emotions behind that wiriting gets you right in the feels. The character are more than well rounded they’re 3D, believable and multi layer, as is the plot. I can go on and on about how utterly amazing this book/ series is, but I’m going to leave you here, so you can hop along and get this book to experience its greatness for yourself.

This book gets my highest of high recommendation and my golden stamp of approval.

Happy Reading.

Oh my god, this book was amazing! I could not put it down. It was filled with action, lies, deceit and betrayals. Wren manages to not get executed but ends up in more trouble in this book. Guild members are getting kidnapped and an army is at the gates of Maradis ready to invade. Negotiations for the accord are not going well and there is dissension within the guilds. War is imminent and everything is falling apart, a rebellion might be the only solution.

The action starts right from the beginning and continues straight through until the end. There are so many twists and turns. When I finished reading the book, I was left speechless. Shocking events occur within this book. Characters that I didn’t really like in the first part, I found myself cheering for. Characters that I loved, I’m upset with. My emotions are all over the place. These characters go through so much in this story. Wren’s new found family has fallen apart and she’s adrift in a sea of sorrow. I am right there with her. This series keeps getting better with each additional book, I’m truly blown away. I can’t wait to read part three.

This series has gotten better with each book. This story is super sad because everyone losses so much. All the death just doesn’t seem necessary. Revenge is ugly but presents itself as this wonderful thing that will make you feel better. Hale is in that dark space and there is no out for him. He truly didn’t know how to go on. Wren was a little useless to me. I don’t understand her character. I love stories about magic. It’s a world of infinite possibilities. I also love sweets. Ms Luana really does have a talent for creating such unique storylines and characters – her attention to detail is excellent. I always feel like I am part of her stories and because of that attention to detail I can easily imagine what I am reading. This book definitely should be read after the first as it builds on the plot from the first story and the author adds another amazing layer to it! In fact it was the cover of the first book, The Confectioner’s Guild, that first drew me into this series and sucked me into the world that Wren lives in. Like I have mentioned this is a series and The Confectioner’s Coup is the second book. I would read the first book as well as the prequel,The Confectioner’s Exile.

I could sit and talk about this book all day. Both storyline and reasons why I loved it. Each one of these books have progressively gotten better than the one before it and this one was not exception to the rule. The Confectioner’s Coup had a bit of it all; mystery, intrigue, suspense, fantasy, and just a sprinkle of romance to top it all off.

The story picks up about a month from where it left off in the last book. Wren faces more trouble in her life just as she finally gets herself out of the mess she found herself in in book one. (That detail would be a spoiler if you don’t read book one.) The King is back and still wreaking havoc. And best of all… there is another perfectly timed cliffhanger that will leave you hungry for that third book, The Confectioner’s Truth, I know I am. Thanks for another great read Ms. Luana.

The Confectioner’s Truth (The Confectioner Chronicles) by Claire Luana – Review by Sarah Oakes

The Confectioner's Truth (Confectioner Chronicles Book 3)The Confectioner’s Truth by Claire Luana
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A great read about decisions. After King Imbris’ death in the last novel, Emperor Evander rules over the kingdom of Alesia and people ad guild members alike are forced to swear oaths of loyalty. But when a baker goes missing and citizens start acting strangely, Wren and her friends try to escape with their lives before it’s too late. On the run, they search for Lucas and new allies so they can stad up to the emperor and free their people. But is anywhere truly safe from the might of Aprica?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldnt put down. well developed characters in new allies like Ansel as a harsh exterior but caring underneath or Dash as more than just a soldier and Hale’s struggle to do the right thing was emotive and perfectly written. A spine chilling villain in Daemastra. i loved the sense of family sticking together no matter what with Imbris and family not always being related with the Confectioners which was emotive and beautifully written.
I loved the visual detail throughout the novel with hidden bays full of secret beauty with its forests ad wild sea with the hardy sailors and warriors. And the sense of colour in the fruit markets o the island. also the contrast with the Apricans crisp uniforms and the too white kitchen was perfectlyl written.
Once again the sense of exploration as the characters go further outside of Maradis with more islands and lands out there, with maps at the start to make locations clear to the reader. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.

The Confectioner’s Coup (Confectioner Chronicles Book 2) by Claire Luana – Review by Erica Fish

The Confectioner's Coup (Confectioner Chronicles, #2)The Confectioner’s Coup by Claire Luana
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Claire Luana is an excellent YA author. With me saying that I love her books. I am finding more and more authors in the YA section that I enjoy reading. The Confectioner’s Coup is a mystery, fantasy, magic, and danger all wrapped into one. This is the second book and with that being said I would read the other book because you will have the background information. Wren is looking for the Guilds, who just happening to be missing more and more. Wren is not sure why they are missing. Will Wren find the Guilds in time? Will she have her answers she is looking for? I cannot wait to read book 3.

The Confectioner’s Truth (Confectioner Chronicles Book 3)
By: Claire Luana
5 out of 5 stars

The story The Confectioner’s Truth (Confectioner Chronicles Book 3) by Claire Luana is a thrilling/fantasy/romance book. It is the final story in the Confectioner’s Chronicles and is one that I loved reading. It is a page-turning book that had me wondering what was going to happen next, who was going to be victorious, and would all the characters survive? There is action, adventure, and danger. It had me hooked until I had read the final page. Wren has been the one character that I really loved reading about in this series. She is strong, independent, and loyal. The beginning of this story finds her feeling guilt, heartbroken and wondering what to do next. She feels the sting of betrayal and the loss of others. Will Wren be able to pull together an alliance that can defeat the new enemy that now rules Alesia? Will they be successful or will those who now rule Alesia be too strong to defeat? Can Wren’s shattered heart be pieced back together? Read this book to find out. The story is fast-paced. I enjoyed reading about the additional characters, many of which have already been introduced in the first two stories. I have grown to love many of them and wanted them to be successful. There are also new characters introduced. There are times when questions are raised by actions that are taken. Evil plans are in motion and must be stopped. The book had my heart beating a little faster with each chapter that I read. Awesome read and one I highly recommend.

The Confectioner’s Coup (The Confectioner Chronicles) by Claire Luana – Review by Kerry Baker

The Confectioner's Coup (Confectioner Chronicles, #2)The Confectioner’s Coup by Claire Luana
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Confectioners Coup by Claire Luana is the second book in the Confectioner Chronicles. This series ideally needs to be read in order as it follows the same character on her journey.
This author effortlessly pulls you back into Wrens story and the troubles she is facing. With new enemies and a dangerous mission ahead of her Wren has to put her wits and courage to the test once more.
This series for me keeps getting better. Each book is a new turn in the road and it is making this a very exciting journey. I found this book to be fast paced and intriguing. I cannot wait to see what book 3 has in store!
