The Final Calling (The Crucible Series Book 5) by Angela Colsin -Review by Sheri Schrader

The Final Calling (The Crucible Series Book 5)The Final Calling by Angela Colsin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Final Calling by Angela Colsin is the fifth book in the Crucible series. This can be read as a standalone book by better enjoyed if other books in the series are read. This book follows the story of Edith Walsh as she is apprenticing as a mage and enchantress. She is new to this whole new world laid before her and on her path of challenges finds out that her life is also in danger. When she was born, she was labeled as a part of a prophecy. Rothario, a tyrant from the Perosian Empire, is after Edith to put an end to her life. Thankfully Edith is helped by a Perosian demon named Isaac. Not only does he want to protect Edith in any way possible but believes that she is his predestined mate.
The characters in the story are fun and the story drew me in. I have read another book from this series and this was just as fun. Colsin writes a great paranormal, fantasy story but with plenty of realism thrown in. Edith is determined to pass her rite of The Final Calling to complete her training while not being killed by Rothario. Isaac is sexy, fun and will do anything to convince Edith she is his. Who does not love a sexy demon with a mission to convince his mate that they are destined but also be her hero. I will be looking for more books in this series and enjoying the extended stories of Colsin’s other characters.

Light of Dawn (The Crucible Series Book 2) by Angela Colsin – Review by Sheri Schrader

Light of Dawn (The Crucible Series Book 2)Light of Dawn by Angela Colsin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Light of Dawn by Angela Colsin is the second book in The Crucible series. This is a standalone book which is great because I had not read the first book in the series. I will now go back and read the first one because I enjoyed this one so much. This is the story of a draconian mercenary, Ulric Dra’Kai, who is in search of a curse box. Charlotte Mulligan is brought into his life, by way of advice to Ulric. Charlotte is stubborn and smart. She has not only caught the eye of Ulric but possibly his heart.
As well as looking for the box, Ulric is searching for his destine mate. Lots of adventures ensue with Ulric trying to protect Charlotte while on the hunt for the curse box. As they are drawn together Ulric worries how she could be his mate. He is immortal and his mate should be immortal also. There is something different about Charlotte and gives Ulric hope for her continuing in his life past this mission. The two of them go against vampires who are hunting Charlotte while trying to keep the curse box and Charlotte safe.
I enjoyed this story. A steamy romance, vampires, supernatural, and more. This was a great balance of story, action, and romance. I was drawn into the story quickly and looked forward to reading to learn more about the story of Ulric and Charlotte. I look forward to reading more from this author and from this series.

Light of Dawn (The Crucible Series Book 2) by Angela Colsin – Review by Jenni Bishop

Light of Dawn (The Crucible Series Book 2)Light of Dawn by Angela Colsin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Charlotte Mulligan leads a normal simple life that has been turned upside down by her past, one she is working to overcome. Charlotte has received a parcel through the post, from someone she has no idea who they are. The package contains a strange and unusual trinket box, one she doesn’t know what to do with. Little does she know but this one little box will certainly change her and her life as she knows it.

After being hired, for a handsome sum, to find a curse box, Ulric Dra’Kai a powerful draconian mercenary has spent much time travelling from state to state looking for it. He has been told finding this box will lead him to his ultimate goal. His latest lead is to find one Charlotte Mulligan. Ulric thinks with a little scare he will get the information from her but boy is he wrong. What he finds is a sassy, hard to intimidate individual, one he finds himself drawn to more and more, one who could be his mate, one who he thought he would never find but can it truly happen?

Charlotte along with Ulric finds herself the object of interest and under attack by vampires and into a world she never thought possible, a paranormal world full of supernatural creatures, one that she is apparently a part of. But why are the vampires after her? Can they find the box in time and find themselves safe from the dangers surrounding them? Will they find a way to be together or will this crazy be too much for Charlotte to handle? Can Ulric keep Charlotte safe? Will Charlotte come to terms with all she has learnt and all she can be?

This is one book you will not want to miss. Angela writes a great paranormal story with multiple layers and has you drawn in right from the start. I guarantee you will not be able to put it down. You find yourself drawn to the characters as if they are your friends as they race through every twist and turn. Well worth the read, I thoroughly enjoyed every word. Can’t wait to read more from her.
