After Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Series Book 2) by Gwyn McNamee – Review by Moriah Venable

After Wrath (The Deadliest Sin #2)After Wrath by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

After Wrath is the second novel in the Deadliest Sin series by Gwyn McNamee. This is my eleventh novel by this author.

Continuing where Wrath left off, it’s been a few years but are things really quiet?

Here we are introduced to the character Aleksander who wants revenge. I know he is the bad guy but I really did love reading from perspective even possibly finding a love of his own.

I don’t want to give too much away but I highly recommend reading this.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“They just woke a sleeping dragon. The years I’ve spent in the background have come to an end. It’s time to take my rightful place at the head of the family.”

This man, Aleksander, is just plain evil. Until he meets Brynn. But even her love is not enough for the dragon to change. She does bring out his caring side but this story is entitled After Wrath for a reason. There are no rainbows and unicorns in this story. Aleksander is on a mission. His mission is to avenge Saban’s death. Family comes first, no matter which Mafia family you are a part of.

I have said in my past review for McNamee, unforeseen twists. Twists that make you scream at your reading device. Twists that make you cry with sadness and with hope. McNamee is a master twist writer.

This book, well really this series, is not for the faint of heart. It is for readers that like dark, twisted, unimaginable stories. Way to go, McNamee! Looking forward to the ending?

Surviving Wrath is the third book in The Deadliest Sin Series by Gwyn McNamee. What a truly amazing book to end this series. This series must be read in order to understand and get the true message throughout the series. I love how this author spins the theme of wrath and the conclusion in the best. I will not give away any part of this amazing story. I will just say it is a must read especially if you love dark romance.

After Wrath (The Deadliest Sin #2)After Wrath by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Let me start by explaining a little about Alek. He’s dark, dangerous, violent, bloody, destructive, and…I love it! The man has serious issues and takes way too much enjoyment out of what he does and it seriously turns me on! Crazy right??? Gwyn has the uncanny ability to make you completely fall in love with her characters, no matter how gritty, dirty, and bad they are! She has quickly become one of my absolute favorite authors. Even in a quick read such as this one, the story line is so detailed, raw, and emotional that you see and feel every word she writes.

This is book two in the Deadliest Sin series and they must be read in order. Book one left me in shock. Book two, After Wrath, picks up with Aleksander seeking revenge on those who he feels have wronged him. Seeking to unleash the wrath of the Dragon and no one will stand in the way of him reaching his goal. The ending was completely unexpected and left me full of anticipation with how this can all possibly play out! The only thing I know for certain is that it will most certainly not disappoint! This series is gritty, violent, powerfully emotional, thought provoking, and sexy! I can’t wait to delve into Book 3 and see what journey the author takes us on! As is everything else I have read by this author, this is a 5-star must read series!

Wow! I knew going in that this story would be awesome. Every book I’ve read by Gwyn has been and this certainly did not disappoint! This book is a quick read that you won’t put down from page one to the end! It’s definitely NOT your typical happy ending love story but it WILL make you travel through the vast array of human emotions! It’s violent and bloody and a spectacular example of what we are capable of, and what we are willing to sacrifice, in an effort to keep our loved ones safe. I fell in love with these characters. Even after I finished the book, the feelings just simmered in my chest. That anyone could love another person this much… Go ahead and grab this one! You won’t be disappointed. You will possibly go into shock, but won’t be disappointed at all!

Oh Gwyn…This is one of my absolute favorite, must-read authors but man…she wrecks me emotionally and mentally every single time!

Surviving Wrath was an exceptionally well written conclusion to the Deadliest Sin series but I want more! I need more! I’m still trying to rationalize with myself that this is truly the end. And what an ending it was! I’m not sure if I’m happy, sad, angry, straight up pissed off, or all of the above. I don’t know exactly how I feel but that’s the thing with this author, she ALWAYS makes you feel!

This is book 3 of this series and they must be read in order. Trust me, once you start book 1, you won’t stop until the last words of book 3! Every minute spent reading will have you on the edge of your seat, heart racing, impatient to find out what is going to happen next. You can’t help but fall in love with all the characters, whether they are good or bad, they become a part of you. You find yourself wishing for certain outcomes for them that they may or may not get. You’ll be happy and heartbroken at the same time. I won’t go into any details about the storyline because I don’t want to give anything away, but you definitely need to read this series! Gwyn McNamee is a stellar writer and never, ever disappoints! More than 5 stars from me!!!!

Surviving Wrath is the last novel in the Deadliest Sins series by Gwyn McNamee. This is my twelfth novel by this author.

With such a fast paced conclusion, it left me with a lot of questions and I hope the author may come back to this series to fill in the blanks. Felt like the ending was open ended with the possibility for me which I am all for. The ending definitely leaves you speechless and not sure what to think. I have all these questions about what happened to the characters and how things progress.

The novels are really short and quick to read but they are worth it.

DO NOT READ THIS SERIES OUT OF ORDER!!!

Ok that headline is a little shouty, but you will be doing yourself a disservice if you read this series out of order.

Surviving Wrath is the third and final installment of “The Deadliest Sin Series”. The series is told in multiple points of view which makes the read very interesting. I thought I knew what was going on – I really did – and I’m not sure if I would make the same or different decisions when faced with … well read the book to find out.

Now that the series is complete, I am going to go back and read all three from beginning to end as each picks up where the last left off. The flow of the series is strong and perfectly paced. Emotions (including wanting to throw my Kindle against a wall) were felt the whole way through.

A note about the writer… I read the “Slip Series” and assumed she was a rom-com author. I read “The Savage Series” and assumed that was as dark as she could go, that is not the case. I have no idea what she will write next, but I for one will be one clicking as soon as it has a title.

I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THIS SERIES AND THIS AUTHOR!!! (wow that was shouty too)

Surviving Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Series Book 3) by Gwyn McNamee. This is the 3rd book in this series and to say they are amazing is an understatement. Do not try to read this as a standalone because you won’t understand. I truly loved this series and this book is no exception. Its so fast paced that once you start you can’t put it down. Its still about Konstandin & Rea being in hiding from the Mafia. They are still trying to escape with their lives from those that want revenge. This book is a quick, take your breath away story and I don’t want to say too much to give away the story. Just read it, you won’t be disappointed. Surviving Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Series Book 3)Surviving Wrath by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Surviving Wrath is the third and final heart-pounding instalment in The Deadliest Sin Series by Gwyn McNamee. So, before I go any further with my review, I am going to make a confession. I HATE writing reviews for Gwyn McNamee’s books- why you might ask? Because her stories are so #@%$*!^ good that I really have trouble coming up with the words to do them the justice they deserve, that’s why!
ARGGGGH this book flung me around on an emotional rollercoaster ride- right from the beginning. The story starts off with a bang, and we jump right into the action. I wanted to hit the pause button, but I was too afraid that I’d miss something. So the high-octane adrenaline fueled action pulled me in and then held me captive while everything unfolded.
We’ve been on quite a journey since starting out on book #1. So much has happened, the books really feel much longer than the novellas they are- and I mean that in a good way. While the books may be short in length, they are in no way lacking in content!
This book is part of a series and is not meant to be read as a standalone. You won’t get the full impact of the story, or series, if you don’t read the books in sequence. Each book is told from a different perspective, which really helps build the tension, suspense, and impact of each individual book as well as the overall storyline…
After the climactic ending to the previous book, I really though I knew where the story was headed- but I definitely should have known better! Gwyn McNamee always twists things in a direction I don’t fully expect. There are some things that happened in this book with certain characters which had my heart in my mouth- and left me cursing out Ms. McNamee. And, if she is reading this, she will know exactly what I’m referring to! I had expectations, and then Ms. McNamee snuck up behind me and smacked me over the back the head and said think again B*@%h!…..And I have to admit now, in hindsight, and after numerous readings- it was the best direction to take the story!
So, how far would you be willing to go to protect, or avenge, a loved one? Would you let wrath lead you? Would you fall into its bloody embrace? This story explores this concept- and we see what happens when a monster and a dragon go head to head (and no, this isn’t a paranormal story)- just read it and you’ll know what I mean!
There is sooooo much more I would like to say, but I don’t want to spoil it for you. So, if you like compelling, dark, and intense reads- with complex characters and multi-layered storylines- then this is definitely the story/series for you! What are you waiting for? Dive in!
Brilliant!

Thank you, Gwyn McNamee!

“It’s not about wanting.
It’s about needing.
Need for revenge.
Need for violence.
Need to let wrath consume me.”

After Wrath is the second riveting book in The Deadliest Sin Series by Gwyn McNamee. This is part of a series and is not meant to be read as a standalone. You won’t get the full impact of the story, or series, if you don’t read the books in sequence.
Each book is told from a different perspective, which really helps build the tension, suspense, and impact. I love the way Ms. McNamee wove this story/series- she left me guessing as to which direction she was taking the story, and series- and I was anxiously reading along to discover what would happen. There were quite a few shocks, twists, and surprising developments- which is quite a feat considering how short each book is.
As I said in my review for the first book- this might be a short story, but it packs quite a punch. It is dark, erotic, raw, bloody, brutal, and action-packed. I loved the complexity of the storyline, and of the characters. Being able to weave such clever twists, and create such complexities in such a short space is really a testament to Gwyn McNamee’s writing prowess!!
This is a hunt for revenge. Our character is consumed by his rage, his wrath is palpable! We are pulled into his vortex of rage and death-dealing mission, where we get a front row seat to all the action; from Pittsburgh, to Cuba, and Argentina- he leaves a bloody trail of violence in his wake. But will his obsession be his undoing?
The epilogue of this book made me sit up and take notice- the first time I read this book I was beside myself- I could not wait for the next book to be released to find out if what I thought was actually what was going on- because you never really know with Gwyn McNamee behind the wheel. And even though I have read this book several times now, the epilogue still makes my heart pound!
I’ve said this before, and I will say it again- Gwyn McNamee is one of my favourite authors, who can take any genre and deliver something that will completely enthrall me, every time. She’s such a brilliant storyteller, capturing my attention within moments of starting any of her stories and then taking me on a ride that will stay with me long after I’ve closed the book. This story is no different- and I especially loved how she worked and moulded the darkness of the theme. I think she wears darkness beautifully and this book/series is definitely one of my favourites of hers- ever!
One of the best things about this series, for anyone who hasn’t read it yet, is that all the books are available to read right now- so no waiting between books!!! #WINNING
Bravo!

Thank you, Gwyn McNamee!

Wrath is the first book in The Deadliest Sin Series by Gwyn McNamee. This is about the fourth time I’ve read this book and I love it just as much as I did the first time it blew me away. This might be a short story, but it packs quite a punch. It is dark, erotic, raw, bloody, brutal, and action-packed. It is such a short read, and because quite a lot happens in such a short amount of time- reading this book was like being shot out of a cannon; flinging me into a heart pounding ride while I hung on for dear life, with all my senses on high alert…. And I loved every single second!!!
Wrath is the deadliest sin, and this story/series explores how wrath can consume a person- and what they are capable of while in its grip. The story is full of passion, destruction, violence, insanity, festering hate, suspense, and revenge.
Gwyn McNamee is one of my favourite authors, who can take any genre and deliver something that will completely enthrall me, every time. She’s such a brilliant storyteller, capturing my attention within moments of starting any of her stories and then taking me on a ride that will stay with me long after I’ve closed the book. This story is no different- and I especially loved how she worked and moulded the darkness of the theme. I think she wears darkness beautifully and this book/series is definitely one of my favourites of hers- ever. I would love to read more ‘dark’ stories from her in the future.
Because the story is so short, it would be easy to spoil it for you by going into any detail- so I’m not going to explore any of the storyline here- I recommend diving in and letting Gwyn McNamee and the story blow you away.

Surviving Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Series Book 3)Surviving Wrath by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Perfect title to explain this three-book series. Surviving Wrath. Or just simply surviving. Everyone needs to survive. Well, not everyone. There are certain people in this story that deserve to die. And thankfully McNamee sees fit to make it happen in this book. But then again it wouldn’t be a McNamee book if there wasn’t a twist or two to keep you guessing!

Konstandin and Rea, formerly known as Griffin and Jade to throw off the mafia, are trying desperately to survive the wrath that started in book one.

“So, what I have learned over the last two years is that wrath is a deadly sin. It will take your life. It will take you mind. It will take your heart, but sometimes…The only way to survive wrath is to give into it.”

Such a great story that touches on the dark side of life. But where there is darkness there is always light.

My favorite part of this book was the actual ending. Simple. Done. No questions asked.

Completely recommend this story but you must start with book one.

Surviving Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Series Book 3) by Gwyn McNamee is a fast paced short novella but don’t let that fool you, there is so much going on that you are glued to it, just trying to hang on for the ride. The last book ended in a cliff hanger, so I was excited to get my hands on this one as I enjoy Gwyn’s stories.

Rea is still in hiding but this night is not like any night before, this night will see her in the hands of a predator, this night will end with her heart breaking with all she has gone through in the last couple of years.

This is the last book to this series and I am sad to see it end. I so look forward to what Gwyn brings us next.

Surviving Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Series Book 3) by Gwyn McNamee was an action packed novel. It had steamy romance and brutal fight scenes. It cannot be read as a standalone.

We are once again following Rea as she continues to hide from those searching for her to have revenge. She has a huge surprise and thinks take a crazy turn with the storyline. Wrath makes its presence known once again with this final book. I loved how much the characters changed from book one. I found it very easy to read and I could not put this book down until I was finished with it. It was an excellent conclusion to this series and I highly recommend both this book and the series. The Deadliest Sin Series by Gwyn McNamee is a series to get if you love romantic suspense books. Ms. McNamee does a wonderful job with her descriptive writing. She is able to paint a picture you can see in your mind’s eye. Surviving Wrath is the last book in the series. Ms. McNamee held my interest from the first page of book one, Wrath to the last page in Surviving Wrath. Her characters are fully developed and personable. There is a roller coaster ride of emotions and with some twists and turns in the plot. There are sometimes when I am engrossed in a book that I start taking to my kindle. One lesson I learned from this series is that Wrath will find you wherever you are because it is one of the deadliest sins.

Surviving Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Series Book 3) by Gwyn McNamee was fast pace, intriguing read, that packs a mean punch.

This book was everything you wanted in concluding a series. As I said it was fast pace, but moved in a steady way as to keep the reader engaged. There wasn’t a dull moment, as the detail kept your mind there, and the suspense kept you on the edge of your seat. This book at times will get you in the feels, with its well written characters, plot, and storytelling. The author did a wonderful job at making this book feel like a full leant novel. It’s always amazed me when Authors can do that. This book is part of a series, so make sure you read the other books before this one. As it has a building continuous plot, and you won’t get the full impact if you skip them, like this book they aren’t long reads.

Overall this book is more then worth your time an energy, and it gets my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval.

Happy Reading

What an absolute fantastic ending. I was so excited to read this book and I was not disappointed. The author has done such a wonderful job of keeping the reader hooked and drawing the story to an ending. The book was just such an addicting read.

The twist that the author brings into the story was quite unexpected but so good. I like how the book was not predictable. I like how the author balances the action and drama with a slight romance undertone. The characters are also so drawing. 5 ++++++++ Stars

Trying to figure out why if I’m so angry after finishing this book I am still giving it 5 stars…
Well because it brought out emotions that have made it hard to write this review although I finished the book almost a week ago.

I read after the story was done and totally understand what this author was trying to accomplish with this whole series and she did it beautifully, that doesn’t change the fact that I had hopes of some things ending differently. Early in this book I even had an idea of something that might turn into another series after this series was done, taking place in Canada and I think I was just hoping I was right.

With all of the above being said…This series was out of this world amazing. When a group of 3 books can have this sort of affect on me I know beyond a shadow of a doubt this author is in a class of her own, I actually already knew that but this whole series has proven it.

Not going to add anything pertaining to the storyline because it would be nothing but spoilers for anyone that hasn’t read the first two and YOU HAVE to read the first two. They are all short reads packed full of content you need going into this last part.

This author sits firmly in my top favorites and there won’t ever be a book I wont read by her.

I also already want to read all 3 of these again back to back!

Surviving Wrath by Gwyn McNamee is the third book in the Deadliest Sin series. This is a series that does need to be read in order as each one follows the same story and is a continuation throughout.
From the moment I started reading this series I knew that I would be in for a ride. After reading the first two books I knew that this one would be the most exciting of them all. And the author definitely takes you on such a ride. It is fast paced and intense right from the start. The book has so many twists and turns the whole way through. I honestly wasn’t sure which way this was ever going to go as this author really isn’t scared to turn things on their head.
The characters were so exciting to read about, I simply couldn’t get enough of them. I would have loved if this book were longer as I really didn’t want it to end. If you haven’t read this series then I cannot recommend enough that you put it to the top of your to read pile.

Every time I think I have found my favourite book from this author along she comes with her next release and does it again! I think the majority of my top 50 books belong to this author. Every single one is amazing and the third and final book in The Deadliest Sin series is of course no exception. I have loved this series, which does need to be read in order, and Surviving Wrath was just the perfect conclusion to it. Although I am, as always when a series by Ms McNamee finished, sad that it’s over that just means there will be something new out soon!
After the cliff-hanger of book 2 we were straight back into the action with the beginning of this book. I loved seeing things from Rea’s side although the story was quite short and 100% left me wanting more. The author managed to save some shock and surprises for this story too which was fantastic – she definitely saved the best until last with this one!
As mentioned before the series must be read in order but I more than 100% recommend it – it’s a phenomenal read and I can’t wait to see what this amazingly talents author comes out with next!

Gwyn McNamee is one of those authors that is next to impossible to accurate to review… I say this because I have increasingly run out of words to describe how great her novels are. The Deadliest Sin Series has been one that I have loved right out the gate and it has been a hellacious ride to this fabulous finale, Surviving Wrath. I am sad to see this series ends, but hopeful because that means that there will soon be a new story to come from McNamee that will sweep me away just as fabulously. This definitely is one you will want to read in order however so if you haven’t first scooped up Wrath, book one, and After Wrath, book two, then you will want to do so immediately and start there. IF I had one thing to say about this book is it was short and so fast paced I feel as if I barely got enough to satiate my palette of Rea’s side of things. But I see the full vision and why she cut things off the way she did. It simply makes me dream of a bonus novella… hint hint lol. Really it is difficult to say anything negative about this book. Rea is the star of this one and as far as details you won’t find them here in my review, for those you will need to devour this read for yourself. I know you won’t be disappointed that you did! Buckle up! You’re in for one heck of a ride!

The author has a way of writing that makes the characters come alive and a storyline that I couldn’t put down until finished. There is action and suspense. I found the story to be well-developed and fast-paced. Don’t miss out on a book that will have your adrenaline levels running high and always wondering what will happen next. Highly recommended reading.

I fled into the night and didn’t look back.

I grieved.

I loved.

Then he appears.

Dark.

Dangerous.

I never thought wrath would find me again.

But you can’t run from it.

Not when wrath is the deadliest sin.

***Surviving Wrath is the final book in The Deadliest Sin Series. The series does need to be read in order: Wrath, After Wrath, Surviving Wrath.***

Gwyn McNamee is an attorney, writer, wife, and mother (to one human baby and two fur babies). Originally from the Midwest, Gwyn relocated to her husband’s home town of Las Vegas in 2015 and is enjoying her respite from the cold and snow.  Gwyn has been writing down her crazy stories and ideas for years and finally decided to share them with the world.  She loves to write stories with a bit of suspense and action mingled with romance and heat.

When she isn’t either writing or voraciously devouring any books she can get her hands on, Gwyn is busy adding to her tattoo collection, golfing, and stirring up trouble with her perfect mix of sweetness and sarcasm (usually while wearing heels).

Gwyn is the author of The Hawke Family Series, The Slip Series, The Deadliest Sin Series, The Inland Seas Series, and The Supernatural Love Stories in the Absurd (as her alter-ego D.P. Payne).

Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Series Book 1) by Gwyn McNamee – Review by Tausha Treadway

Wrath (The Deadliest Sin #1)Wrath by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Series Book 1) by Gwyn McNamee. HOLY MOLY! This is a book that when you pick it up you better buckle up and hold on. You will read it to the end without breathing. Its a short book ( The only bad thing about it) and the story of Jade & Griffin. Griffin is so swept up with Jade that he changes his whole being to be the man for her. Griffin grew up only knowing torture, pain, cruelty and death so turning into a good man for Jade is against everything Griffin knows. When Jade is kidnapped that dark side of Griffin comes out and he will do whatever it takes to get her back and make the person pay who has hurt her. I can’t wait for Book 2. Read Wrath, you won’t be disappointed!

Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Series Book 1)Wrath by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow, I knew Wrath is one of the seven deadly sins but Gwyn McNamee put it to a new level of deadly sin with her story Wrath. Her writing style consumed me from the beginning. Her characters and plot line kept me engaged and left me wanting more. The story is a fast read, but do not go too fast otherwise you may not see the whole picture. Can you define the line between love and hate? Will you feel what Griffen and Jade have for each other or will wrath keep them apart?

Wrath by Gwyn McNamee
Five Stars

Wrath is the first book in the Deadliest Sin Series by Gwyn McNamee. This short novella is different from any other book that I have read by Ms. McNamee. This dark and dangerous romance had me hooked from the very first page and I couldn’t put it down until the last. This book started and ended with love, but everything in the middle was ruled by vengeance, ruthlessness and revenge. All I’m going to say about this story is, Ms. McNamee is a great bringer of Wrath. I can’t wait to read the next installment of this story.
