My Rating: 4 of 5 stars

Me and Cinderella (The Dirty Rooster #2) by Kelly Mooney was a pretty great read that will pull at those heart strings.

Not my first read from this author or in this series, but though this book is part of a series it reads as a standalone. So no worries if you haven’t read the first book.

This book is a fun read thats both witty and bouncy, as well as emotional and heart melty. The only thing that I didn’t quite like, is a common theme I see with these types of books. The male MC calling female MC, innocent and what not. It’s a pet-peeve of mine, and I don’t find it endearing or a complement to call a grown woman innocent. I don’t want to get into it, cause I’ll be here all day, but in the long run, you can make a character complex and multi layer without adding words like innocent, only to find out..”they aren’t so.” you know, sexy wise.

Other than that, I very much enjoyed this story. I loved how it wasn’t just about the romance, and that Eli was there for his family. That added extra layer that made this story more than your normal mushy romance. It added a complexity to the overall plot and storyline. Eli was an outstanding character and he really stole the show. I honestly think that the author did an amazing job on Eli, and though I did like Remy, and she was also a great character, Eli just, glowed, and was a powerhouse.

Overall this story is a must read, and it gets my super high recommendation and my stamp go approval.

Happy Reading

This is such a great second book to follow up The Dirty Rooster. It can be read as a stand alone but, I would recommend reading the first book to get some background. Also, the first book is just plain great!

This book is the story of Eli, who is one of Preston’s best friends from the first book. His life is rough, he had a crap childhood and was always busting his butt to provide for his younger brother Brandon and sister Shea. I admire him for not getting into any risky trade and working hard at menial jobs to get himself through high school and on to college. His father is an abusive jerk who is in jail and, his mother can’t be bothered to provide for the kids because she is too busy drinking and doing drugs. The fact that he graduated college and went on to become successful enough to pay for everything himself as well as send money to his sister and brother to make sure they were comfortable, is heartwarming.

When Eli returns home to make sure Brandon and Shea are going to be okay with his father getting out of jail soon, he reunites with his long lost love Remington. She is set to be married but seems to have cold feet, and then the only place she can run and hide is at Eli’s place. This all makes for a beautiful, frustrating and overdue reunion for these two.

Eli and Remy are a great couple and it is beautiful that the rich girl fell for the guy from the “wrong side of the tracks” even though, Eli is a better man than any of the rich snobs at her father’s country club. Overall, a great read, with lots of romance, drama and little crime.

Me and Cinderella (The Dirty Rooster Book 2) by Kelly Mooney is an excellent contemporary romance. Life has a way of setting individuals on a particular path regardless of how they may wish their lives would go. As we all know, the past cannot always remain there; sometimes it comes back for a reason that is worthwhile, yet in other ways it’s one we need to overcome and conquer. Remy and Eli are magnetic characters and it’s seen throughout their interactions despite the events that have occurred. Their story was brilliantly written and I could not get enough. The drama that was an unpleasant undertone in the story added additional depth and development to some of the characters that was well done. Another amazing story by Kelly Mooney!!

Me And Cinderella is the 2nd book in the Dirty Rooster series by Kelly Mooney. Although characters from the first book Dirty Rooster return, these books can be read as a stand-alone. I had thoroughly enjoyed the first book and was looking forward to reading this one. It didn’t disappoint.
This is a lovely contemporary romance that draws you in from the very beginning and you won’t want to put it down. The characters in this book are so well written, you can’t help but feel every emotion they are going through.
Eli Young has returned to a home that he vowed never to return to. His dad is getting out of prison and Eli goes home to make sure that his younger siblings are ok, particularly 17 year old Brandon who is only weeks away from getting away too to start life at college.
What Eli didn’t expect to return to is that his little sister’s roommate is none other than the beautiful Remington (Remy), the one girl that Eli has never really got over. What’s worse is that the story starts on Remy’s wedding day.
This story will drag you through ever emotion possible. I’m sincerely hoping that there is more to come from the Dirty Rooster series as the first 2 books have been fantastic. Both definitely worth 5 stars from me.

AHHH!
Omg I think I loved this book even more than I loved the first one and I loved that one. I didn’t think it could’ve been topped but I apparently was wrong!

Eli has finally returned home because in a just a few short weeks his father will be released from prison. When he returned home to help his family out was the girl he left 9 years ago. He’s always had a thing for Remy but never acted on it until now. She’s always been considered off limits until now….

I loved every aspect of this story. Eli is an incredibly loving family man and the sparks between him and Remy are explosive. Kelly Mooney hit this one out of the park!

Me and Cinderella by Kelly Mooney is the second book in the Dirty Rooster series. As much as I loved the first book I think I loved this one more.

Eli and his family grabbed my heart from the very beginning and didn’t let go, especially his baby brother Brandon. I really hope we get to read about Shea and Brandon to see what happens in their future.

Remmington is not the spoiled rich girl you would expect. She loves with her whole heart but only those who deserve it and not many people deserve her level of love and loyalty.

I really loved this book. It had a little of everything laughter, tears, suspense and of course happiness. Cannot wait to read more by this author.

Me and Cinderella is the second book in the Dirty Rooster series by Kelly Mooney. This book can be read as a stand alone, but I would recommend reading the first book first. They are both excellent and there are recurring characters. This book hooked me from the very first page and I couldn’t put it down until the last. I love the depth of the characters and how the whole store feels like real life. This is Eli and Remy’s story. They have off the charts chemistry and the witty banter had me laughing out loud. This was a book that gave me all the feels. I can’t wait to see what Ms. Mooney has in store for us. I highly recommend this read.

I’m all for sticking it to the man. But don’t back down when they material things over you. The things that made me enjoy this story was how he came back even the never wanted to. I really enjoyed the characters mostly Shea. She was the best character. She was fun and light and could bulldoze a conversation into the outcome she wanted. I didn’t like the parents and I was shocked at how much Rem gave to please them. I hope to never be a parent that stops my child from living the life they choose.

Me and Cinderella was a great 5 star read and book two in The Dirty Rooster series.
I loved this story so much, once I started I couldn’t put it down. It was a late night (early morning for me)

Eli has returned home for a few weeks because his dad is going to be released from prison soon. He wants to help his little brother and possibly his mother. What he didn’t prepare for was Remy living with his sister Shea. Remy is the woman he left behind nine years ago, she is his sisters best friend. Remy is the rich girl he wasn’t good enough for, so he thought. She has turned into a very beautiful woman and has sparked something in him.

She was downright the sweetest girl I knew, but she was always going to be Cinderella to me. She was the delicate flower I spent years protecting, and I ended up being the one who crushed her.

Remy has her own drama going on and when Eli finds her in his room he is shocked. He does a great job of supporting her and they end up getting even closer. We get some very hot and steamy moments from them. What will happen when Eli leaves in a few weeks? Will he stay or will he ask her to join him? Can they have a HEA?

I loved these two so much and all of the secondary characters were great. I loved his brother and sister but despised Remy’s father. I had near heart failure when there was a huge twist that left me in tears. We do get a well deserved HEA with a great epilogue. I look forward to reading more from this series and I wouldn’t mind seeing more from Remy and Eli.

Me and Cinderella is the second book in The Dirty Rooster Series by Kelly Mooney. It is a contemporary romance with drama, humour, secrets, angst, funny banter, family ties, chemistry, and a sweet romance.
Eli had a difficult childhood, but has worked hard to make something of himself. Back in town to take care of his little brother, he doesn’t expect to see Remington (Remy) again. But fate has other ideas. But as they both come from different sides of the tracks, what chance do they have? What happens next makes for a great read and kept me entertained the whole way through.
The character development was fantastic, and they were very easy to like. I loved the banter between them, and the family ties that were an important part of the story.
A sexy and emotive book!

Thank you, Ms. Mooney!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Me and Cinderella by Kelly Mooney is book two of The Dirty Rooster Series. This book can be read as a standalone. This book pulled me in right from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down.

Eli swore he would never return to Sugar Creek. He stood by that until his brother needed him. One thing he knew for sure was he couldn’t have anything to do with Remington. He’s always had deep feeling for Remington even though she is his little sister’s best friend.

I absolutely loved this book. There is so much emotion between the characters. The story is so well written that it’s relatable as are the characters. The banter between the characters added a lighthearted element that was a wonderful way to break up the emotion a little. This book truly has it all.

This book was great! I loved the dual POV and the small flashbacks thrown in as well.
I didn’t feel we really got to know Eli, yes we got to see his feelings and actions but I felt I was missing just a little something. He was very in your face and up front on a lot of things.
Remington, or Remy, was a girl I felt a connection to right away. And I loved her teasing of Eli to get him to show his feelings to her.
Loved all the other characters to, and wish to see more.

Me and Cinderella ( The Dirty Rooster Book 2) By Kelly Mooney. This is the 2nd book in The Dirty Rooster series but it can be read as a standalone. I loved this story about Eli and Remington or Remi. He’s such a good guy from the wrong side of town and she is a rich princess from the right side of town with everything she ever needs and more. She becomes best friends with Shea, Eli’s sister and would rather spend time with her than at home. Eli leaves town as soon as he can, goes to college, graduates and is very successful. He has vowed to never return to Sugar Creek but when their father gets out of prison he heads back to take care of his little brother Brandon. He never expects to run right into Remi as soon as he gets back but he does and the chemistry is still there. Remi feels it too but her parents would never approve. Will they both give in to their feelings regardless of everyone else. Read Me and Cinderella to find out.

Me and Cinderella (The Dirty Rooster #2)Me and Cinderella by Kelly Mooney
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kelly Mooney has written a stellar second book in the Dirty Rooster series. This particular one centers around Eli who we learned a bit about in book one. This can be read as a standalone without being super out of the loop about any characters. that being said, I highly recommend book one.
Eli has fought for everything he has in life and even though he hates his home town and never wants to go back, his dead beat dad got out of jail and Eli has to protect his siblings. He never expected his little sister’s best friend to run out on her wedding and come to him. They’re too different and it will never work. But her pull is too strong and Eli knows he will never let her go now. Between fighting for the woman he loves and trying to pull his little brother Brandon out of the poverty of their childhood, Eli needs to keep his wits about him at the worst possible time.
Kelly Mooney is fantastic at putting you right in her characters heads and after reading both this and the first book, all I can say is that I hope this series continues.

Me and Cinderella (The Dirty Rooster #2)Me and Cinderella by Kelly Mooney
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Me and Cinderella (The Dirty Rooster Book 2) By Kelly Mooney is a contemporary romance story that captivating and quite emotional. Kelly has a way of drawing you in to her stories with her words and makes it so easy to get lost in the story and forget the world around you. I loved the characters, some of whom are in the first book, they are complex and have depth and makes it hard not to feel for them. The story is full of angst and heartbreak, sorrow and hurt but it is also full of wonder and love, strength and uncertainty, trust and there is also humorous banter which is much needed with this type of story and makes you laugh.
He is from the wrong side of the tracks. His past continues to haunt him. He left behind the one person he loved. But he had to find himself, he had to not let his past define him. Now he is back to ensure his brothers future but by being back he is faced with so much from his past. He is the protector who will do anything for his family and the ones he loves.

Remy is the little rich girl who is so much more than her money suggests but she is ruled by an iron thumb when it comes to her parents. Even though it is her big day, she cannot help but think about the one man who stole her heart as a young girl.

The story is well written and well-paced and I highly recommend it.

This story is right in my wheelhouse. Romance, best friends, best friend’s sexy brother, angst and self-discovery. From the first page to the last, I read the book in one sitting. At 99% I was worried that it would be a cliffhanger, but it’s all wrapped up quickly and satisfactorily.

The characters had depth and the family dynamics were equally disfunctional for both protagonists. It was a well balanced story told in dual POV.

I’m looking forward to reading the sisters story next. I am whole heartedly invested in these characters.

This is the second book in this series but it is a definite stand alone. I was confused at the beginning trying to put them all with the characters of the last book. It didn’t fit. But as time went by I became engrossed in these new characters with Eli and I ended up loving the book. There was so much give and take throughout. It had high-highs and Low-lows. The story moved along at a brisk pace. When the MC’s finally get together I can’t help but think wildest dreams. Remy’s Wildest dream comes true…can you imagine? I am so so glad the author wrote how blown away Remy was when she was with Eli. That really made it more believable and enjoyable. There are many many lines that are so…so amazing. Eli is really the sweetest. One of my favorite lines is when Eli is speaking to Remy:

“I’ve always liked me better when I’m around you”

Who wouldn’t want someone to say that to them?

This is a great story! A second time author for me. I look forward to reading the next in the series.

Yay! I was so excited with how well this book turned out! I must confess I really was nervous going into it. I wasn’t a huge fan of the first one in the Dirty Rooster series but I was completely drawn into it enough that I had to come back to see how things would evolve and if they would grow because I could see where it could. Yes it did!! I truly enjoyed this story. Kelly Mooney managed to take a fresh twist to the modern day Cinderfella story idea and I couldn’t get enough. From the moment I first began reading about Eli and Remi I knew they would be one of my favorite couples of the year that I have read. I was really looking forward to reading this second book in The Dirty Rooster series especially as I enjoyed book 1 so much and I wasn’t disappointed at all. It can be read as a standalone also. Again like book 1 the story was really well written and I really liked that characters. I like a forbidden romance and this was definitely one of my favourites! The chemistry between the characters was hot and intense but also not too over the top – it made it feel more believable. I could really feel the connection between the two characters too and I was rooting for them the whole way through!
I would absolutely recommend this book to others and I am really looking forward to reading more from Ms Mooney again in the future!

The story Me and Cinderella (The Dirty Rooster Book 2) by Kelly Mooney is a new adult/contemporary romance book. It is a story that is romantic and I loved reading. It has a way of pulling you in and I found myself not wanting to put it down until I had finished the last page. I loved reading about the characters. He is caring, protective, and handsome. He left the town of Sugar Creek and has vowed never to live there again. Now he finds himself back to take care of his little brother. That is when he sees her again, Remington Ashby. He had always had a deep attraction to her. Will he take a chance and give into his emotions/feelings for her? Could there be a future between him and Remington? Read this book to find out. I enjoyed the bantering/back and forth that goes on between him and Remington. I also enjoyed how family is so important to the main male character. He would do just about anything for them and for Remington. I grew to care about the main male character as well as Remington. I wanted them to find happiness. The story is an emotional one and mine went up and down the entire time was I reading the book. This is the second book in a series however can be read as a standalone. It is a story that I would recommend reading.

They have dreams too and it doesn’t include a playboy bartender. Working as the maid at his family’s hotel Preston meets Summer and he’s smitten especially since Summer isn’t taken in by his charms! He sees her as a challenge, will Summer submit to Preston’s sexiness and ruin her dreams or will Preston fall for Summer and will they make their dreams come true together? Great book. This book is so sweet and sexy with a great story line. The characters are all fantastically loveable.

Preston is a grade A douchebag when it comes to the ladies. I figured when we first meet him he would be a player. I love that when he meet Summer and she continually denies him, he starts to realize he can love one woman. Summer is such a sweetheart, and I love the way she works hard for what she has. She is strong, especially in pushing away Preston who continuously lies to her.

Preston has life altering circumstances arise and Summer is thrown all of Preston’s truths at once, causing a devastating rift between the two. I recommend reading to see what happens between these two young lovers. The secondary characters of Jenny, Summer’s best friend as well as Eli and Chase, Preston’s best friends make for added drama and depth to the story.

I loved Summer! She’s driven and has dreams she wants to make real but she’s a hopeless romantic which I loved. Preston’s family owns the hotel in which she’s working as a maid for the summer. He has a bad taste in relationships so he deals with the no strings attached kind but Summer has a way about her! She gives a good challenge that can throw his rules out the window!

The Dirty Rooster by Kelly Mooney. This is a story that hits a few emotions while your reading it. Preston is a trust fund baby who still helps out at his family’s bar, the Dirty Rooster. He sleeps around and doesn’t form attachments. Summer is the exact opposite, and you know what they say about opposites attracting right… The story line is well written and as the story progresses you are curious how it will end. I didn’t feel the need to finish it right away however I was hooked enough to read it in one sitting.
