Descendants of Time and Death (The Gods’ Scion) by Winnifred Tataw – Review by Jenni Bishop

Descendants of Time and Death ( The Gods' Scion, #2)Descendants of Time and Death by Winnifred Tataw
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Descendants of Time and Death (The Gods’ Scion Book 2) by Winnifred Tataw was an interesting read. I enjoyed the premise of the story but had trouble settling into it in the beginning but it soon picked up. The story didn’t flow as seamlessly as I would have liked but that aside it is an intriguing story. Winnifred certainly has the creativeness and the story is full of lies and heartache, hatred and fear, action and drama, broken dreams and promises, greed and war. I enjoyed the main characters and the world Winnifred has created and the uniqueness of it all.

This is the first book I have read by this author, and I should have started with the first book but did not realise that it was the second book until after I had started. I look forward to going back to the first book and continuing on from here.

Descendants of Time and Death ( The Gods' Scion, #2)Descendants of Time and Death by Winnifred Tataw
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It has been a year since the Reign of Ryton, the Demon king, came to a dramatic end. Leaving Rodrick to face the burdens, yet this time he is not alone.
After foreseeing all the massive deaths on the horizon, Lady Death seeks out the twenty year old prince’s aid in stopping what seems like an unavoidable war.

Roderick agrees to take on this mammoth task with the help of his brother Rayden, which is also his companion, the princess Arcelia and the Queen Riva for support.
But they are in for a fierce ride when they meet a tyrant and a terrorist fighting for control of a country that has suffered under their father’s reign. And here they will find betrayal and intrigue, where secrets are revealed, promises broken and trust is questioned.

What a wonderful book, it had me gripped from the beginning and the story was brilliantly addictive. The characters within the story are very unique, creating a setting that is woven beautifully within the magical and fantasy elements, but a lot of detail has been put into this, which makes it even more interesting. I loved the relationship of the brothers, you see them going through every emotion trying to stop this war, and it certainly does put their relationship to the test.

I would 100% recommend this book, it has action, fantasy, magic, betrayal’s and secrets. It has you gripped from the very beginning.

Descendants of Time and Death is the second book in The Gods’ Scion series by Winnifred Tataw. This is my first book by Ms. Tataw, and I am regretting not reading the first book before diving into this one. While the story does make sense without having read book one- I think my reading experience would have been better if I’d known what had taken place in the first story.
This is an action- packed adventure/fantasy with interesting world building and characters. Ms. Tataw has created an intricate world with unique characters, lore, culture, and beliefs. There are magic and fantasy elements, all woven around things we are more familiar with- making the story more relatable and believable.
An interesting read!

Thank you, Winnifred Tataw!

Descendants of Time and Death ( The Gods' Scion, #2)Descendants of Time and Death by Winnifred Tataw
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Descendants of Time and Death (The God’s Scion Book Two) by Winnifred Tataw, was an interesting book. I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect it sounded like a fantasy, but then there were planes in it and cell phones, but it is a fantasy but not quite what we’re used to. Usually in a fantasy the scenario is a save-the-world kind of thing and this was more like a mystery a very interesting mystery. The characters were all very compelling well described and the world was well built, it was a well-written book and the story flows along nicely. It does take a minute to become familiar with the different points of view. The story is written from the point of view of several of the characters, so it takes a bit to get used to that. Since the characters are so well described you very quickly catch on to who is speaking. Just a real good little story I can’t wait to read more of them. It’s not only a mystery it’s also a story about a dysfunctional family and forgiveness and overcoming, it’s a story makes you feel kind of good in the end.

5-Stars

Descendants of Time and Death (The Gods’ Scion) by Winnifred Tataw was an excellent and exciting read. I loved the creativity behind the characters and the various settings. It was so easy for me to lose myself in this novel that several hours had gone by before I even realized it! I was amazed! I loved Rodrick’s character the most. He had so much on his plate already but seemed to handle more with ease. Having only read this book, I am curious to read book one now. I was not confused at all with this book despite it being second in the series. The author makes it easy for readers to get lost in without having read book one. The storyline had an excellent flow that kept me reading and it had great organization. It was easy to tell which character was speaking and when or when a complete section was on someone different. I loved this book and can’t wait to go back and read book one. Highly recommend it!

Big round of applause to Winnifred Tataw for another great book. Her characters are fully developed, not to mention brave and strong. The plot line keeps you wanting more and more. I did find myself screaming at my kindle. Rodrick is left to pick up the burden after the Demon King comes to an end. He is finding it quite difficult. He also is learning valuable lessons along the road. Will this be more that he can handle? What is next for Rodrick’s journey? I highly recommend this story. It is full of twists and turns and will keep you turning the pages quickly.

I really enjoyed this story. I havent read the first one and i would recommed reading the first one before this one. However it was easy enough to follow and get into even without reading the first one.

Its a great adventure of two brothers trying to stop a civil war. They need to get both sides of the story from the King and Queen and also the leader of the rebellion.

Which side will they choose and will they be able to stop the war before i even starts?

The author is great at building worlds and images of the magical characters and the worlds they live in. Very well written and gripping

Descendants of Time and Death is the second book in The Gods’ Scion series by Winnifred Tataw . I’m going to be real honest I had my doubts about this book going in but man was I wrong. This book blew me out of the water and once I got started reading I couldn’t put it down till the end. Its very creative and packed full of action, secrets, broken promises, and lies. There are a few twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. I felt like I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book trying to figure out what happens next. Rodrick and his brother have been sent to try and stop a war. Can these two succeed in stopping the war? There are moments I caught myself shaking my head while holding my breath. Find out what happens next in this wonderfully written story that has family ties ,secrets , some betrayal and instances where trust is broken. Descendants of Time and Death by Winnifred Tataw is the second book in The Gods’ Scion series. The story is jammed packed with action and adventure as we follow Rodrick and his brother in their quest to stop a monumental war. There is a great story with lots of character development and world building. Don’t worry about getting bogged down in details. The author keeps everything moving but stays on a clear path with descriptions without being confusing. A lot of thought and work went into this and it shows. Tataw has kept me reading and wanting more after finishing this adventure.

I won’t lie, this is not my usual first choice for a novel genre, but this one just seriously drew me in with this cover and a few fascinating teasers I came across for it. I decided to give it a go and I am glad that I did. This book doesn’t bog you down with an overabundance of details and drama; it keeps things actually moving fast and understandable. I loved that I was able to really enjoy the novel in a way I may not have had the chance to do so if it was overladen in details. I really enjoyed reading all about Rodrick and his sweet brother. These two will face a lot in order to stop a war and protect the ones they love. Will they make it through everything and come out safe and sound? I think this is one that I would definitely read again sometime and may check out some of the authors other novels available!

Descendants of Time and Death by Winnifred Tataw was a good novel. It didn’t grab me like I thought it would. This is the first novel I’ve read by this author, and the reason it probably didn’t grab my attention like I wanted and confused me was probably because I haven’t read the first book in the series. I did enjoy reading this novel, I just probably should have read the first installment before I read this one. There was a great storyline and characters, just again I wasn’t pulled in like I thought I would be from the synopsis I read. I can’t wait to read more from this author!

Descendants of Time and Death by Winnifred Tataw a five-star read worth your worship. This is number two in the Gods Scion series and I would say pick up number one if you can, but if you cant then give it a go as the author does a great job with world building and character development in this story and you really do feel part of the story, there is so much going on in this story, and I don’t want to give the secrets away so I am keeping this short and sweet, as the author does a great job of this story and you would be sorry to miss it.

This is a new author for me and I enjoyed her book from beginning to end. It is a creative story that is full of action, lies, broken promises and trust or lack thereof. I enjoyed the characters as they are supportive to each other and they made the story feel realistic. Roderick is convinced to take on a task that will take him on an adventure of a lifetime. This is where the story picks up and betrayal and a fight for control as a race against time starts if they are going to stop the war. I highly recommend this story as these characters are pushed to limits they never expected.
