This book is very action-packed and has that romantic tension that you can cut with a knife. The first part of the book was a little bit slow. Luckily it picked up in the second half of the book. Rune is strong and smart, she learns to use her magical powers. What will happen to Rune and St. Benedict? Read to find out!!! There is a small cliffhanger that will leave you wanting more!

The Devil’s Day (The Lucky Devil Series Book 3) by Megan Mackie. I have loved reading this series. Its been so fun to watch Rune grow in her powers and in her life. Its the continuing story of Rune Leveau who is running the Lucky Devil bar that her Aunt Maddie left her and also she is learning how to use her newly found magical powers. With the help of cyber spy St. Benedict her partner she is thinking she has it all together. She is kind, strong and will die before she admits it but she is strongly attracted to St. Benedict! They are trying to defend her claim to the House of Magdalene and its not as easy as she thought it would be. When Abraxas the fire Talent decides to challenge Rune wills he be able to succeed? When secrets old and new come out it will only be a matter of time before the house will fall. Will it be Rune’s house that falls or wills he succeed in keeping her reign? This book will keep you turning pages late in the night. Its a great read!

The Devil’s Day is book three in the Lucky Devil series by Megan Mackie. I would definitely recommend reading the other two books in the series before starting this one, if you don’t you will miss out on the back story that I think is vital to the enjoyment and understanding of the story.

As with the other books in this series, this book is action packed right from the start. It continues with the Rune and St Benedict and their adventures. The author has her own distinctive writing style that shines through in all the books in this series and it really makes them stand out. The characters are well developed
…especially now we are in book three, so I was totally hooked and invested in their lives from the start. The pace is pretty fast, there’s lots going on. If you like books jam packed full of action and story telling then I would recommend this book for you.

This book was full of action from start to finish. I’ve read the previous of this series from this author and color me impressed with this last of the series. I fell in love with Rune the moment I read the first books by Megan Mackie because she’s that thrilling to read about. This book is absolutely no different. I love everything about this book from the environment and the meaning behind it for the heroine, the fact that a meaningful legacy follows our main character but her crew as well. What’s really suspenseful is when Rune prepares to defend her claim and it was very exciting to read about because her crew is very fearless. This time they’re in for a huge battle with the reader curious and excited to follow them through the trenches.

Another great read from this author. This is the third book in the Lucky Devil series and I would definitely recommend that they are read in order! This for me was a little slow to start but I still really enjoyed it. I really like Rune; she’s a great character to read about. The action in the story definitely picked up in the second half of the story and my attention was definitely grabbed from there on in. The author does have a wonderful attention to detail which is great for me as a reader; it helps me imagine what I’m reading.
Overall a great third book in the series and I look forward to more from this author in the future.

The Devil’s Day (Lucky Devil #3) by Megan Mackie was a good 4 star read.

The series continues and I was excited to see what was coming next. It took me a bit to get pulled in but once I was I couldn’t put it down. Rune is preparing for a magical duel. We also get some sparks between Rune and Benedict. Both of these characters are great, We get action, adventure and so much more.

I would highly suggest that you read the first two books in the series, otherwise you may be lost. The author does a great job with her writing and pulls you right into their world. All of the characters added a great element to the story. I look forward to reading more from this author. 1-click and get started today.

The Devil’s Day (The Lucky Devil Book 3) by Megan Mackie is a Sci Fi Fantasy story. Rune and St. Benedict are back and find themselves in a magical fight. Along the way Rune is faced with secrets, lies and betrayal. I wanted to shake her shoulders and tell her to wake up and get her stuff together but not only that I wanted to smack St Benedict. The first half of the book was a little slow and took a while to get into it but the second half is where things pick up and the action begins. You really need to read the other two books in this series before you read this one otherwise, I think you will find it hard to settle in this story.

Another adventure at the Lucky Devil. I have to say that this author has such a unique and refreshing style. I was drawn into the action as though I was part of it. I really like how the characters have a complex mix of interaction. I really like how they all seem to compliment one another and the story is also mixed with bits of back story that brings adds to all.

I really found myself drawn to Rune’s character. I could see how as the story progresses she is coming more into her own self. I really like the drama that unfolded in this book as it was very explanitory of her story and that of her family. I like the undertone of romance. I look foreward to reading more from this series as well as this author.

I loved reading the book The Devil’s Day (The Lucky Devil Series Book 3) by Megan Mackie. It is a story that pulled me in from the beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. I love the characters of Rune Leveau and St. Benedict. Rune is someone who has magical Talent, is kind, strong, and even though she won’t admit to it is attracted to St. Benedict. St. Benedict is a cyber-spy who is attracted to Rune however feels that the best thing that he could do for her is to leave. This story finds Rune defending her claim to the House of Magdaline. What does the future hold for Rune and St. Benedict? Read this book to find out. This is a story that has secrets and surprises throughout. It is a book that had me turning pages wondering what was going to happen next. Rune and St. Benedict are characters that I care about what happens to them. Then there is Abraxas who has a selfish agenda and plans. I enjoyed reading about the other familiar characters in the series. The author does an amazing job of making the storyline and characters come alive. This is another exciting and entertaining book in a wonderful series. I highly recommend reading it.

This is a sequel so the first one in this series needs to be read first to fully grasp this book. We leave off with Rune, who has inherited this bar from her aunt after her aunt passes away. This book picks up 2 months after those events take place and in book one, she meets Saint and the events leading up to has caused Saint to take time to come to grips with it all. And even though she hasn’t seen Saint, Saint turns up when this new adventure hits. Megan has delivered a bright brilliantly costructed story for readers alike to enjoy!!!!

The Saint of Liars (Lucky Devil Book 2) by Megan Mackie. This book was just as great as the first not that I had any doubts because this author knows how to create a story world that keeps readers coming back for more. I recommend reading these in order. Once again I was taken on a journey with everything I could ask for in a great story. The characters draw you into their world and I for one was happy to get lost in its pages for a while. The storyline is well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking. Even the smallest details are are focused on and I love when even the small things matter. The Saint of Liars is the second book in the Lucky Devil series. I highly recommend reading the first book before you read this one to get a good grasp of the characters and events that set this book up. Plus, the first book is an amazing read too.
I truly love the blend of tech and magic in this series. In Saint of Liars, Rune discovers more about her abilities, which is a fascinating aspect of the story line.
The tension between St. Benedict and Rune is nearly palpable. I’ll be interested to see how that plays out in future installments. St. Rachel is kind of a person I love to hate. Well, not hate really, but she keeps throwing a wrench in the potential romantic works.
This book is a stellar read! Highly recommend it.

This book is so much better than the last one. I know..I know… I needed the last one to help make sense of some of this one. We see a lot of the same characters coming back into play. This story is full of suspense and has a lot of action. It just kept rolling right along and I could hardly put it down. Plus there is the whole side story between Rune and St Benedict. Will they or won’t they? Can they or can’t they? To be honest…this area still left me up in the air. I even read slowly and multiple times.

Overall it’s a real good story. Characters that are likable and you learn to care about. Sometimes it take you out to left field but the story doesn’t leave you there. It always brings you back.

The Saint of Liars (Lucky Devil #2)The Saint of Liars by Megan Mackie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book two in the ‘The Lucky Devil’ series by Megan Mackie, the storyline is set in an alternate Chicago where technology and magic are in competition with each other. This is an urban fantasy/cyberpunk novel with a fast paced storyline and some great characters. SciFi novels are not my usual genre but having discovered the first book in this series and enjoyed it I was happy to give this second instalment a try and I thoroughly enjoyed being back with Rune and visiting her ‘Lucky Devil Bar’. I was pulled back into the alternate world that Megan Mackie wonderfully creates and was fully immersed in Runes next adventure. Rune Leveau knew the peace couldn’t last and once again finds herself at the centre of a battle between bullets and magic as warring factions converge on her bar. Everyone from the Kodiak Corporation, the Magic Guild, and the Faerie King himself, are after the ‘Finder’. The Masterson Files, which is a computer program with the impossible ability to cast magic is still the major prize wanted by all and they all think that Rune is the key as her former husband built the revolutionary code. Rune feels that cybernetic corporate spy, St. Benedict is the only one who can help her but she’s aware that they are both keeping secrets and telling each other lies. Rune finds she has to trust the, Saint of Liars to help her find Justin Masterson. This novel was full of action and drama all set in an alternate world where main character, Rune really brings the story together and moves the plot along. I was gripped from beginning to end and found the storyline exciting and the narrative easy to read.

Megan Mackie wrote this fast paced story. You are sucked in on page one, and remain reading until the last page. I love the characters and their ability to use magic when needed. There are Fairies, Wizards and Rune. I love the story! The fantasy as well as St. Benedict brings you into this rollercoaster, just like Rune. Answers are needed and only reading this book will get those for you. I hope you enjoy Megan Mackie’s book as much as I did. Be sure to read book 1 first. We are back with Rune Leveau at the Luck Devil Bar. We Met Rune in Book one when she had inherited the bar from her Aunt who had recently passed away. The Lucky Devil series is about a young woman named Rune who is a wife named June Masterson who reinvented herself after her abusive husband threw her under the bus for his crimes. Rune doesn’t trust the corporations so things are rough until she decides she wants to find out her ex-husband’s secrets. Rune is a great protagonist and Saint Benedict is just the perfect love interest for her despite both of them carrying serious emotional baggage. The story truly does deepen and expand, building on the characters and plots from the first book. The world Megan builds is so clear. Magic and corporate intelligence, is a wonderful combination. Once again Megan Mackie has created a book that has the old world and modern world colliding in the most amazing way. There is magic, action adventure, suspense, some mystery, drama, tension, chemistry, intrigue, danger, secrets, different realms….as well as a slew of mystical and mythical creatures. Who wouldn’t want to jump down this rabbit hole?!?!

So yes, it was that good. Excellent world crafting in this story as always. This one came with a new twist, not only do you get the clear visual of the magical world there is a new digital world too. The relationship between St. Benedict and Rune keeps me in a dither. I think Rune knows how she feels. An excellent story with in-depth characters that I became totally immersed in.
