I read this as an audiobook and found it enjoyable overall. This is my first adult urban fantasy/cyberpunk read, and I liked the combination between magic and technology. The strongest point of this novel is its world building. There’s so many details and lore, from the collapse of the fairy court to the house of the lucky devil himself. The magic system and concept of second sight was also exciting, and I appreciated that they had a definite class system describing the level of magic a person could use.
However, this book wasn’t without its faults. Megan Mackie and Frank Sjodin did a great job narrating, but I didn’t care for how they chose to divvy up the reading parts. I would have preferred if Megan Mackie read everything, and Frank Sjodin only read St. Benedicts lines and chapters. Sometimes they would go by thoughts or narration and it sounded off. I also didn’t care for some of Mackie’s writing choices. Some details, paragraphs and conversation could have been trimmed for the sake of pacing. For example, the beginning of the book could have introduced Rune and St. Benedict faster.
The characterizations were also very hit or miss. I didn’t care for St. Benedict for most of the book, but I loved Rune, Allie the girl dog and Taki the mermaid. The title of the book was also a cute play on words. When I first picked up The Finder of the Luck Devil, I thought it was about a girl looking for a hot guy, a “lucky devil”, but it was literally Rune using her magical talent as a finder and her title being the heir of the Magdalene and the owner of The Lucky Devil bar.

I’ve read this e-book, but loved it so much I had to hear the audio version. It was INCREDIBLE! The performance of the female and male characters were amazing and added to this story so much more. I loved everything about this and am such a fan of Megan Mackie. I’m so glad I listened to this audiobook because it gave me a different perspective than just reading it. Yes, I’ve “read” this book twice now, but SO WORTH IT. Totally recommend this audiobook!

This is the first book in The Lucky Devil Series. The Lucky Devil is actually a bar. There is some mystery surrounding The Lucky Devil. The newest owner, Rune is one of our main gals. She was left with the Lucky Devil when her Aunt, the previous owner, died and left it to her. There is a small hitch in this newfound role of owner for Rune. She is hiding something and it may be detrimental to her being able to do her best job. It has already caused her a lot of pain in the past. Will it continue to do so? Will she be able to come out on top in this or will things crumble before she gets a chance to get used to the idea of owning this neat little bar?
There were some really neat descriptions and word play used to bring to life some scenes of magic and intrigue. Ones that I thought about long after I finished listening to this book. I loved how realistic this seemed even though there were some strong hints of imagination used. Overall, I am excited about this new series. Thanks so much Megan Mackie. On to The Saint of Liars!

When Rune Leveau is approached by a charmingly dangerous, cybernetically altered, corporate spy, St. Benedict, his request seemed simple: use her magical talent to help him find an elusive criminal named Anna Masterson. But Rune has a dangerous secret – she is Anna Masterson.
Over the past six years, St. Benedict has searched for the Masterson files, a computer program rumored to do the impossible…cast magic spells. The technology could reshape the world. His last hope is this finder of the lucky devil, but the finder is proving difficult and he isn’t going to take no for an answer.
Set in an alternate Chicago, where technology and magic are in competition with each other, this fast-paced cat-and-mouse chase makes The Finder of the Lucky Devil a welcome addition to your urban fantasy/cyberpunk audio library.

I give The Devil’s Day (The Lucky Devil Book 3) by Megan Mackie 5 stars.
This series grabbed me from the very beginning and each book gets better and better. This one is no exception. There is plenty of action and suspense going on, but we also see how much Rune and St. Benedict have grown, and continue to grow. The characters are what really make this series. But they are not the only ones in this book. You will see those from previous books return, as well as some new characters. The story itself is so complex and enchanting. The author does a fantastic job of creating a world and story unlike any other. While in the same world as the previous books and an obvious continuation, this story is unique and enthralling. I hope this series never ends.
If you are a fan of urban fantasy with realistic main characters, this book and series are for you. In my opinion, it can be read as a standalone, but you will understand more if you read the previous books first.

I am looking forward to reading more by this author in the future and I would recommend this to a friend!

The Devil’s Day (The Lucky Devil Series Book 3) by Megan Mackie, is just the next in a series of very excellent and imaginative stories. I have been following this story with avid interest. I’ve really been cheering for Rune to step into her role as Mistress of her house. And the relationship between her and St. Benedict keeps me on the edge of my seat. Slowly but surely all my questions are being answered. This is a great story on its own but its fantastic when you start at the beginning. You owe it to yourself to start at the beginning of The Lucky Devil Series you will be glad you did.

The Devil’s Day by Megan Mackie is the third book in the Lucky Devil series, and was a good read. This book is not a stand alone novel, it’s much better to read the other books in the series first. I have read the first book in this series, but not the second book, and because of that I was thrown off quite a bit in this story. I still enjoyed this novel, but I would have enjoyed it a lot more if I would have read the second installation as well. The storyline was really good, and the characters were great. This series (what I have read anyway) is definitely a good read.

The Devil’s Day by Megan Mackie is the third book in the Lucky Devil series. I highly recommend this book but first, insist you read the other books in the series first. The primary storyline continues throughout the books and I feel you would miss out on a ton of great stuff without reading the series in order. Rune Leveau has a new challenge on her hands and St. Benedict, cyber-spy, is by her side to help her try to get her way through. There is some romantic tension between these two characters but neither is wanting to act upon it, there is just too much at stake. If you like adventure, a futuristic setting, with twists and turns I think you will really enjoy this series. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future with great anticipation.

The Devil’s Day (the Lucky Devil Book 3) Megan Mackie 4 out of 5 stars
I’ve come to really enjoy Megan Mackie’s writing, specifically the Lucky Devil series. The Devil’s Day is book 3 in the series and though it is a full length novel and longer than my recent reads, it kept my interest and flew by! I have really enjoyed the character development throughout this series and venture to say The Devil’s Day may be my favorite installment! I would recommend reading the series in order as you don’t want to miss a twist, turn or ounce of character growth. Megan Mackie is definitely an author I want to read more from!

This is my 3rd book in this series and I’ve loved all three of them. The Devil’s Day is the continuing story of Rune Leveau who is running the Lucky Devil bar that her Aunt Maddie left her and also she is learning how to use her newly found magical powers. Honestly, you have to read these in order. With the way Megan Mackie writes and how well she intertwines everything, you can’t read these as a stand alone and even begin to scratch the surface of this story. Don’t miss out on Megan’s ability to draw in a reader!

This is book three in the ‘The Lucky Devil’ series by Megan Mackie, the storyline is set in an alternate Chicago where technology and magic are in competition with each other. This is an urban fantasy/cyberpunk novel with a fast paced storyline and some great characters. I thoroughly enjoyed being back with Rune and visiting her ‘Lucky Devil Bar’. I was pulled back into the alternate world that Megan Mackie creates and was I excited to join Runes adventures again. “You can always find help at the Lucky Devil” and Rune Leveau who rebuilt her own life there continues her Aunt Maddie’s legacy, in her memory. Rune is an emerging magical Talent and an ex corporate prisoner who is days away from having to defend her claim to the House of Magdalene, which includes the bar. Rune and her partner, St. Benedict, the cyber-spy are looking for a way to defeat the fire Talent, Abraxas who is her challenger when they uncover long kept secrets. The pair hope that these might hold the key to Rune’s claim. This is an enjoyable and engaging read which I would recommend reading as part of the series as the storyline does continue from the previous book, ‘The Saint of Liars’. It has an action packed and exciting plot which had me hooked from beginning to the end and includes some brilliant characters, especially Rune who is a great main character. The authors wonderfully descriptive narrative and amazing world building really bought both the characters and the setting to life and ensured that I felt fully immersed in the story.

4 Stars
Whew, I’ve decided this is my favorite so far of the whole series, although because this is not a genre I normally read I stay pretty confused a lot, but it doesn’t take away from the enjoyment of the series and the writing, which I fully appreciate. I feel as if I need to go reread the whole series because this author has such a talent for making me want to understand everything happening and I am looking forward to doing that.
There’s a lot of moving parts in this story, readers of this genre are getting everything they would need in this story. I love the deep relationships in this book and the romance is done in a way that it doesn’t take over the story, but definitely there. Rune is an amazing character and her part written beautifully
I will absolutely read just about anything by this author, her writing style is one that I completely enjoy. I am totally invested in these characters!

The Devil’s Day (The Lucky Devil Book 3) By Megan Mackie
This book was a grab you by the first page and not let you go until the end kind of book. I recommend reading the first two books in this series before embarking on this one. This story is full of magic, danger, suspense, drama and wonderful characters. The author does an exceptional job writing with such vivid detail that you feel like you’re in the story and you can’t help but become invested in the characters and the storyline. There are unexpected twists and turns, I couldn’t put it down until I got answers. This is truly a gem. There is a lot going on in this story with many characters but it all flows together so nicely that you don’t feel lost. I find this to be such an original series and I am so glad I dove right in. I highly recommend this book.

The Devils Day The Lucky Devils Series Book 3 By Megan Mackie ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ This is a full length fantasy story. Continue to follow The Lucky Devils series.

The Devils Day by Megan Mackie a Devilish five-star read. This is number three in the Lucky Devil series and they are all sublime, I would advise to read the whole series as they do fill in the story, there are so many great deep characters that you may miss tiny details for if you don’t and it may not be much, but it could be the key to really getting the character. This story and series have been brilliant at lifting my mood and transporting me into the story, I felt like I was there with Rune, has that horrid pit in my stomach as though I was the one possibly losing everything. I was there with Rune wanting to tell her to face up to the secrets and not bury her head, to realise that the secret has the power not what its about. This has been a great series and I cant wait to hear more form this author.

The Devil’s Day is the third book in the Lucky Devil Series by Megan Mackie. This series should be read in order to get the full backstory of what is going on. Plus, all of the books are great reads. The book is full of twists and turns that had me turning pages long into the night. Rune Leveau’s character has grown so much over the past three books. St. Benedict is her partner and they both are trying to ignore their mutual attraction to each other. This series is evolving and each book is better than the last. I highly recommend this book, series and author.

I have read the other books in this series by Megan Mackie. This book, in humble opinion, is better than the first. I recommend reading the series in order to thoroughly enjoy this book. Megan Mackie does an amazing job keeping the attention of the reader by her storylines. Her charters are fully developed and complex. Not only is her storyline great and moving, but also her characters. I feel connected to her characters. Rune came back to help her aunt to rebuild The Lucky Devil bar. Since her aunt died she is trying to keep the bar going. That is until the Devil comes calling to collect Rune is taken back. What will happen when Rune does not give in to the Devil’s demands. What secrets did her aunt have? Can St. Benedict helps Rune with this little situation or will Rune lose it all? You will have to read the story to find out the answers to these questions and more.

The characters each bring this story to life in their own way. The author does a wonderful job of writing a story that jumps off the pages. It’s easy to stay inside it’s pages for longer than planned. Can’t wait to see where this author takes readers next. Four stars and highly recommended.

Megan Mackie has outdone herself with this latest installment in The Lucky Devil Series! I have to say this has to be my fav yet, and I do have to say you should read the first two books in the series before diving into this one for the max effect of everything. Once again I just could not put this book down and read it well past my bedtime to see how things would turn out for these fab characters I have so grown to love.
In The Devil’s Day we find Rune and St. Benedict finding love within each other. Rune must find a way to stake claim to the House of Magdaline for good but the Devil has his own plans as usual. He will come back to claim what he says is his. I love Rune and her sassy self as much as the rest of the characters but she shines the brightest in this one. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next one!

The Devil’s Day by Megan Mackie is the third book in the Lucky Devil’s series. Personally I would recommend reading this series in order as it follows the same characters and is a continuation of their story. This series honestly just keeps getting better and better! Each book I read instantly becomes me favourite one until I pick up the next. It takes no effort at all to fall back into the story and the characters that you come to love so much. This book is exciting and fast paced. It feels like there is something happening on every single page and I just couldn’t read it fast enough. I hadn’t heard of this author before this series but now she easily falls into one of my favourites. If I see a book with her name on it I wouldn’t hesitate to one click immediately. This is a fantastic book that you should read today!

Thrilling and non stop action! I am glad I am not a character…I would need a breather. They just keep jumping from the frying pan into the fire….and then back into the pan again. So much goes in in here. I would recommend reading the first two to get some background and help with this one. We see a lot of heart stopping and shocking moments. That Rune really impressed me since she came off all flighty previously. Yes there are times I really don’t follow all that Uncle Lucas and St Benedict say but it’s all part of the bigger picture.
I think I said the last one is a fav. But this one overtakes my feelings on that. It answers a lot of questions but not all. I really feel that as these stories go on they became more magic filled and less steampunk. Which I loved. St Ben really seems human with a few augmentations and on the cover he looks like a robot. Why? Maybe I’m wrong. Anyway this is a small wonder that I have.
Over all this story is amazing. The places this author takes us are as many as there are the characters. I couldn’t hardly put this down as the suspense kept me glued to the book. I highly recommend.

The Devil’s Day (The Lucky Devil Series Book 3) by Megan Mackie – Review by Gail Guerrero
Four Stars
The Devil’s Day was by far my favorite book in this series so far. Megan Mackie didn’t disappoint with this one. There is action, magic and twists. I really like Rune. I feel like the author wrote her really well. The fantasy alone was worth the read. This world that the author created has so many interesting characters. The story is well written and gives you a little more. When Rune receives a challenge that could take everything from her. She buckles down and does everything she can to keep her bar. The author didn’t miss a beat. St. Benedict is a interesting character as well. The romance is so intense to me. I also like that it doesn’t overshadow the main goal. Overall get this series so you can enjoy it too

The Devil’s Day is the third spellbinding book in The Lucky Devil Series by Megan Mackie. I know I have said this before, but I absolutely love this series, it really is soooo fantastic! I have been anticipating the release of this book for a while now and was so excited when it finally hit my kindle. Ms. Mackie doesn’t disappoint– keeping me enthralled the whole way through. This is an epicurban fantasy with cyberpunk/neon-fantasy, sci-fi, dystopian, and paranormal elements. There is so much to love here- with plenty of magic, action adventure, suspense, mystery, conspiracies, hidden agendas, corporate politics, quips, banter, drama, tension, chemistry, intrigue, danger, secrets, emotion, and different realms….as well as a myriad of mystical and mythical creatures. The overarching storyline is spellbinding and full of intricate details and incredibleworld building. If you haven’t read the previous books, I highly recommendthat you do as not only are the stories absolutely wonderful, there’s a lot of backstory and character information there that will help you better appreciate this book- as well as build a much bigger picture. Rune has been through, and discovered, so much since we met her back in book one. This book sees her face her biggest challenge yet- and Ms. Mackie certainly put her through her paces here. Rune has been challenged for control of her ‘House’- which is so much more than just a bar- so there’s quite a lot at stake. She isn’t sure she has what it takes to win the challenge- but time is pressing and soon she won’t have a choice. She will need to face this head on and use all the skills and connection she has gained, if she has any chance of succeeding. But there is more going on than just a ‘challenge’- as Rune will soon learn. Her lack of confidence in herself could lead to her losing all she loves. But there is a lot more to Rune than even she gives herself credit for. Saint Benedict is a cybernetically enhanced corporate spy who has a complicated past. Again, these two will need to work closely together in order to get through this latest threat. But will secrets and betrayal destroy the trust they have built between them. With outside forces targeting them and hellbent on winning at any cost, they are put in a seemingly impossible and incredibly dangerous situation, where their options are running out and all their lives, and the fate of the ‘House’ and the Lucky Devil Bar, are all on the line. What ensues makes for an un-put-downable read!!! Ms. Mackie has once again delivered a wonderfully rich, vibrant and vividly detailed story- set in a such a cleverly constructed and interesting world. This is world building on a masterful level. The characters are truly brilliant– so well crafted and fully developed. There are a lot of characters to keep track of, but the story is so well written that I didn’t have any trouble keeping up. I loved how the characters grow and evolve as the story progresses, especially Rune. I love the chemistry between Rune and Saint Benedict, I really hope that chemistry develops into something ‘more’. I have been rooting for them since the beginning- so they better get their act together soon. The story twists and turns, with lots of surprises and unexpected developments that had me on the edge of my seat in expectation. I loved that this story provided so much more backstory and character revelations- there were so many fascinatingdetails that I would love to divulge here, but I won’t as I really don’t want to spoil any of the story for you. I can’t recommend this story and author highly enough. You really should read it for yourself, you really won’t be disappointed!!! Can. Not. Wait. For. The. Next. Instalment!!!

The Devil’s Day is the 3rd book in The Lucky Devil series. I have read all 3 and they are amazing. They are all full of action and magic. The writing is so good you can actually imagine being there.
Rune is back. As the owner of the Lucky Devil bar her life has been a roller coaster since her aunt Maggie died and left her in charge.
With the Devil’s day fast approaching and a challenge from a rival to take over her house she needs to work fast to try and save everything she has. If she doesn’t succeed she will lose it all. Can she defeat her challenger? Can she figure out the ritual to pay the devil his due? Or will she lose everything.

All I can say is Wow. The continuing story of Rune and St. Benefict was so good. The book had so many twists and turns it almost made me dizzy, but the ending was fantastic. I really cannot wait for the next installment of Rune and St. Benedict’s journey. Their story just keeps getting better and I am looking forward to continuing to the end. Megan Mackie writes vibrant stories that almost come to life and I am so glad that I discovered her as an author.
