What a great part two to an already fabulous book! Katie and Chamberlain are back, and the love and steam are just as good, if not better, in this book. Beth and Scott are fussing and fighting throughout the book as Beth tries to figure out who she is and where she wants her life to go. We get to meet Marissa, who is a sweet and lovely little girl who steals everyone’s heart, and of course, we see Fiona again. Grab a copy of this book and see the love and spice everyone dreams of having for themselves.

K. C. Cunningham has spent the last four years building a life for herself, she has made friends, found family and completed her degree in education, now all she needs is a job in a school to make her life as complete as it can be. Chamberlain Lawrence is just coasting through life and trying hard to forget the girl who got away, he has never stopped searching for her and trying to find her, but he has had no success and so has ploughed everything into his career as “The Predator” within the boxing world instead.
One night, K.C. is dragged out on a rare girl’s night when her best friend gets tickets to a boxing match, something she hasn’t done since she left home and left that night behind, so she begrudgingly goes, all the while hoping that he isn’t there. For Chamberlain it is just another fight on his tour to retain his champion status and it is yet another easy match with another opponent below his level and all he wants is a proper challenge, however, all that changes when he sees her, his girl in the crowd.
As soon as Chamberlain looks round and locks eyes with K.C. she is placed back into the memories of happier times and the time before it all fell apart and it is all too much, so she grabs her friend and runs. Meanwhile Chamberlain is elated that he has finally found her after all this time and sends someone out after her, but they are too late and he knows that he cannot let this chance slip away, so he plans to find her and never let her go.
Soon Chamberlain finds K.C. and convinced her to talk to him, she is distant, all while trying not to fall for him all over again, she is hurt and angry and doesn’t want anything to do with him, but he is persuasive and she agrees to hear him out and nothing more, but will “The Predator” finally capture his prey, or will the past come between them all over again? This is an emotional rollercoaster of a ride which won’t let up all the way until the end in this romantic with elements of suspense and a will they, won’t they trope.

Brooke May does it again, with yet another fiery romance in The Predator series! We finally see the outcome of Katie and Chamberlain’s reunion and follow along with their rollercoaster of a relationship. I was so excited to find out if they could overcome their past misunderstandings and find out whether they could reconnect on a romantic level, or if Katie’s family ruined yet another part of her life. This book is the perfect mix of life lessons, romance, sports, and of course, a great storyline to keep you wanting more on every page that you turn. The romance is hot, the boxing matches are exciting, and the friendships are so heartwarming. Who says family is only those you are related to by blood, sometimes the best family is the ones that you get to choose yourself, and this story proves this. I love that we get to delve deeper into Beth and Scott’s story as well as follow alongside Katie and Chamberlain’s reunion, and we get to know the adorable Marissa, who is the perfect mix of the best of both parents. I am so excited to continue reading the next books in this series. If you like romance and are a fan of persevering characters who deal with real-life issues, you’ll love this series. Happy reading everyone! @Brandy Rymer 08/2024

This is the second book in The Predator series, and I grabbed it as soon as I saw it. The first book was great, but this one blew me away! Like several other books by this author, it is addicting and all-consuming. I just couldn’t put it down no matter how hard I tried. Continuing to follow Chamberlain and Katie was exactly what we wanted, and the author delivered this perfectly. I highly recommend picking up the first book before diving into this one. You don’t want to miss out on the beginning of their story. I loved all of the characters in these pages, but now I’m most excited about Beth and Scott, but Marissa was also incredible! If you are looking for an amazing second chance romance with plenty of emotion and even some spice, you will fall in love with this book. I cannot wait to pick up the next book in the series.

May has done it again with Chamberlain and K.C.’s story. This was such a wonderful conclusion to their story and there were many twists and turns still to be had (some of them were wonderful…others suspenseful). I just love these two characters so much and May did such a fantastic job with their development individually and together. I also like that we get to see a little bit more of some of the side characters and their personalities and relationships and I’m hoping that they will get their own story as well. You MUST read the first book before you pick this one up or you will be lost…but you won’t regret it! I love this author and she is quickly becoming one I automatically add to my TBR! This is book 2 in The Predator series. As this is the second part to Katie and Chamberlains story I really recommend reading Part 1 first. This is a second chance sport romance filled with chemistry, intrigue, secret, drama, lies and suspense. This is about 2 people who are opposites however you cant help who you fall in love with. When a misunderstanding tears them apart neither one thinks that they will see each other again and never in their dreams could they imagine a chance to rekindle their love. 4 years have past when they find each other again and both Katie and Chamberlain have changed. Even though they both love each other will this be enough for them to make it work this time? With forces working against them still trying to keep them apart do they stand a chance or will they left heartbroken all over again. I love Chamberlain’s protectiveness of Katie. Even after all the time apart his instant reaction is to want to make her his and protect her at all costs. There were times during this book that I wanted to climb in and stop anyone wanting to stop this couple from being together. You can tell that Katie and Chamberlain are made for each other but there are secrets and lies that need to be uncovered which could destroy them all over again. I love this series so far and I can’t wait to read more.

We are launched back into the world of Chamberlain and Katie and my god what a second part to the story.
After being broken and lost, Katie is finally rebuilding her life and confidence to who she is, it has taken years to get this far but one day rocks her world when she sees him. Seeing Chamberlain has shook her but all the feelings are back and she is struggling with the realisation that he could hurt her again but is she willing to give love another chance?
Chamberlain has finally found his love, Katie but after so many years can he prove to her that it was other elements keeping them apart and he will try and make up for things till his dying days but there is only one thing he needs her to trust him again and not run away at every turn. Can I get her back where she belongs.
This conclusion to a thrilling story was just as epic as the first half. The story picks straight back up and has you back into the world of Katie and Chamberlain like you have never been away. The strength you see within Katie as the story unfolds is brilliant to read and with the secondary characters around her is just a wonderful story.
As you also get to see Chamberlain and get into his path you get to understand the workings of this complicated character and that he has nothing without Katie in his life which was just refreshing to read. With the twists and turns within this story you find yourself falling deeper into the world and becoming part of it.
I would definitely not recommend this book as a stand alone you really need to get the grounding from the first part but you would not be disappointed. Can’t wait to read more books from this wonderful author.

I feel like I ran to read this second book. After a cliffhanger like that I immediately knew I had to come finish it to see what happens between Kate and Chamberlin. Just like the first book I felt like I devoured this book almost instantly lol. Also like the first one it’ll have your emotions all over the place 🤣 but I feel like this book made me love love love Chamberlin even more. This author always knows how to write a captivating story. I truly can not wait to read more from this author and this series. If you haven’t read the first book I highly suggest you read before starting this one.

I loved reading part two! Katie ( K.C. And Chamberlain saw eachother at his fight at the end of part 1. Now they are in the same state and Chnerlain will stop at nothing to get his girl back. He has never stopped Loving her or looking for her. Will they get a second chance after all this time with all the secrets ? Will Katie be able to tell him why she left and what she found out right before she left? I. The last 4 years so much has changed for both of them. He is a well known, well respected fighter and she is….well a mom to a little girl! Katie may have run out and not Looked back but As fate would have it, They are both at the same water park, at the same time. That is when Chamberlain sees Marissa.
So much happens in this book, I was sucked in from the cliffhanger in part one and couldn’t wait to see how their story went.
When Katie’s dad comes out of the wood work claiming that he has Katie and Chamberlain’s support, when neither of them want anything to do with her family after what pain they caused them, chamberlain vows to make everything right and see the record straight. This series is quite addicting and cannot wait to see what happens in future books and how Scott and Beth get along. Another great 5* read. Looking forward to more!

After reading the first book and having been left on a cliff hanger, I knew I needed to read this book. I was not disappointed at all. Since this is the second part, I highly suggest reading the first one to understand what is going on because It does pick up right where the other left off. I was fully engrossed with this book and everything that was written on the pages. I didn’t and couldn’t put it down. I was so engaged in it, that everything else was put on hold in my life until this book was finished. The said, this book is a quick read. lol. It contains all the steam, angst, love, drama, plotting, scheming, suspense, and emotions, that you could ever want in a book. Even though this is the second book in the series I felt like it was even better than the first. Might be because it is the conclusion of the couple but I just felt like this one was a quicker read than the first. There is so much drama and scheming going on with people in this book that I was feeling all of the emotions and getting frustrated with people around me for no reason at all. They were just breathing but I couldn’t handle that and everything that was going on in the book. I can not wait for the next book in this series. Reviewed by: @bbohls

We pick up with Katie and Chamberlain’s story 4 years later. Katie is settled and living in Denver with her aunt and her aunt’s partner. Katie has just graduated college with a teaching degree but is currently working as a server in “gentleman’s club”. Katie finally gives in to her friend Beth about going out. Beth takes Katie to a fight that her boyfriend is promoting.
To Katie’s complete horror, Chamberlain is fighting that night. She sees him. He sees her. She can’t believe her luck. Of all the fighters in the world, why did it have to be him? Chamberlain can’t believe his luck. He has been searching for Katie for four long, torturous years. Now, she is there watching him, close to him, and from the look on her face angry with him. Chamberlain isn’t going to give up searching for her, especially since he knows where she is now. He is going to find her.
I was all about the reunion. With the way things went down, I was devastated that Katie got shipped off without being able to at least talk to Chamberlain and find out what really went down. If he felt anything for Gwen (which, of course, he did not because it was completely obvi that he was all in on Katie, but what do 19 year olds know?). I do think he should have had to grovel a little more, be sweet a little more, beg a little more. But Katie was also withholding a great big secret from him. So, I guess maybe he groveled enough?? I loved the way Chamberlain was all in from the moment he realized. There was no doubt in his mind.
I don’t want to give away the big stuff in this story so I will just say that I was super happy with the way it all went down. Chamberlain did it right (on sooooo many levels, on soooooo many things). Great read. Totally worth the time and emotional investment. I love Marissa. She is by far my favorite. Big 💙for her!

The Predator: Part Two (The Predator Series Book 2)
If you haven’t read the first book in the series you need to stop what you’re doing and binge book one. Otherwise there will be gaps and events that don’t make sense. Then you can grab this one.
I fell in love with Chamberlain and Katie in book one. I fell deeper in love with them in book two.
Their story isn’t a short one, took over four years to find their way with obstacles along the way with the biggest being her family.
Their story is a sweet one, but definitely stressed me out at times. Thankfully Karma has the last word. The family they built wasn’t traditional, but it works for them in the best possible way.
I really had a hard time putting this book down, finished half of it in one evening with my family interrupting me. I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next.
I think my favorite part was Vegas with the aquarium coming in a close second. Not going to give anything away, hope you love this as much as I did.

This book is a fantastic follow up to the first book. It picks up right where the first one left off, so I would highly recommend reading these in order. I was pulled straight back into these characters and the journey they are going on. Their connection is just as intense as I remember and I was probably even more invested in them this time around. I loved the story and how the author moved it forward in this book. It had a slightly different feel to the first book but it was just as good to read. I love this author and the versatility she seems to bring to all of her work. This is a brilliant story and a fantastic follow up to the first story.

Part two of this series is the conclusion and the make-up sex part of K.C and Chamberlain’s story. These two rediscover each other after years of rebuilding themselves and trying to “get over” the other. However, their connection is still there making all the sex worth it!
I enjoyed their reunion but felt like something was missing in this book. Felt more like this was the buildup for Beth and her story. Don’t get me wrong, the sex was really good!
Love these characters and look forward to what they may get into in future stories.

The Predator Part Two picks up after the first book in the series, so I definitely recommend you reading the first book to continue on to part two. Katie and Chamberlain’s story continues and there is so much left unsaid….this second chance romance with its definite secrets, greed, drama also tells a tale of forgiveness, love and a true emotional roller coaster. This story had it all and really loved knowing what happens with the aftermath from the first book.
Chamberlain and Katie’s love rebuilds back to what was lost, and makes the most out of their time apart. I really loved their story and I cannot wait to dive into Beth and Scott’s story next!

Chamberlain has been on the professional boxing circuit for four years. The entire time, he has been celibate, confident he would find Katie. A private investigator fails to find her. When Katie was disowned, her father sent her to Denver to live with his sister, Jackie. Jackie is a lesbian and has also been disowned by the Cunningham family. Katie was thankful for her Aunt and her partner, Karmin’s support during her pregnancy. She met Beth while she was at a grocery store when her water broke. Beth had helped Katie get to the hospital and stayed while she gave birth to Marissa Fiona Lawrence. Seeing Chamberlain’s Denver fight has Katie scared, but she knows Chamberlain needs to meet his daughter sometime. When they meet at the aquarium, Katie knows that Chamberlain will be a great father to Marissa.
The love story between Chamberlain and Katie continues. I found Chamberlain’s belief in his love for Katie endearing. Scott is loyal for remaining by his side throughout the four years that Chamberlain was searching for Katie. Internet searches, a private investigator, and an attempt to get Katie’s family to tell Chamberlain where she was didn’t dissuade him. Marissa’s sassy attitude and obvious ability to interpret feelings makes her a challenge for everyone. There are several moments in the plot that I wanted to shake Katie for her indecisiveness. Appearances by their past “baggage” add intrigue to the unpredictable plot. By the end of the story, I could see Scott and Beth as a distinct possible continuation of this series. The amazing detail and engaging dialogue add even more depth to this amazing story. This is a five-star romance novel that I couldn’t put down.

Chamberlain sees Katie again and he knows that he is not letting her go this time. Their love for one another was unparalleled before and Chamberlain plans to recapture that as soon as they clear up somethings. One big hurdle though is Katie is determined not to talk to him and Katie has been keeping a secret that will rock Chamberlain’s world.
I loved this one just as much as the first book. I was again completely pulled in and cheering for this couple. They had so many outside influences trying to tear them apart but the heart knows what the heart wants. Such an amazing series, definitely need to read in order.

Seriously loved this series, I can’t wait to continue into book 3. I will tell you that my heart goes out to K.C. throughout this storyline. I can’t imagine what it would be like to be treated like I didn’t really belong especially in a world that really relies on family values and yet to be hidden because I fell in love with “the wrong person”. There are moments in the story that I get rather angry with because K.C. works so hard to keep her “family” away from her daughter and yet somehow they weasel their way into her life yet without caring about how she feels. I promise you that this series is amazing and you don’t want to skip it.

I couldn’t wait to get in between the pages of this one because I was such a mess after finishing book 1 ! I must admit every year she’s was worth it !
Yes I still despise the Cunningham clan ! They’re awful people 🤬😱🤮 and so much heartache could’ve been avoided if it weren’t for them , then they still have the cheek to pitch up at Katie’s home and threaten her 🤬 I don’t want to give them anymore airtime than I need to so there’s Fiona who’s an absolute gem , a mother / grandmother in the way it matters most Beth who’s a real friend , Scott still makes me laugh , he comes across as a player and tough guy but he’s like jelly really , Chamberlain owns my heart as for Katie but then we have precious little Marissa who just wins everyone over with her blue eyes and blonde curls … our little mini bit 🥰😉
I love how chamberlain never gave up , the way he saves them till they’re married , he’s a keeper that’s for sure , the way he adores his girls and loves on those that he calls family just melts my heart 🥰I love that they they roll as unit ! Oh Let’s not forget the remodel of the car … bonus points for you Predator 😉

The Predator Part Two is the second book in The Predator Series by Brooke May– and continues Katie and Chamberlain’s story we started in Part One. It is a passionate contemporary, second chance, sports romance, where opposites attract- bringing angst, emotion, angst, secrets, lies, suspense, drama, chemistry, and lots of sizzle. Chamberlain and KC are from two different worlds, but the heart wants what the heart wants- and as we discovered in Part One- these two have quite a journey and story to tell. As this continues what we started in Part One, I highly recommend reading the first book before starting on this one, as otherwise you will be missing the start of their story and all the important details contained there. Ms. May never ceases to deliver an engrossing and heart-strumming story that toys with my emotions – resulting in an engaging story that I can easily connect with, while getting completely invested in the characters and the outcome of their tale. Highly recommended- especially if you like MMA romances with sizzling chemistry. These two had many ups and downs through these two books and you are definitely rooting for them from the beginning. Now that Chamberlain has found the one that got away he doesn’t want to let her go again. They have so many things and people against them that it seems impossible for them to get a happily ever after. I was so glad to see that these two were able to work past the heartache and all the obstacles that were in their way. The author did an amazing job yet again. If you haven’t read any of her books you are missing out!

View all my reviews

After the book hangover that I had after finishing book 1 I was incredibly glad when I had a chance to dive into The Predator Part two, it did not disappoint, and I loved reading the conclusion to Chamberlain and Kc’s story. I can’t wait to read more in this series.

Chamberlain is in Denver for one of his fights. Has she come to see his fight? Where has she been for the past few years? Are two questions burning into his thoughts. Over the time that has passed Katie is still the only girl that he wants in his life. Going back in time KC was sent to live with her aunt after she refused to abort the child she was carrying. KC met Beth when her water broke in the supermarket, Beth stayed with KC throughout her labour and delivery staying when her aunt and partner arrived. Since that day they have not spent a day apart.
Beth and KC took Marissa who is now nearly four to play in the kids’ pool only to find our there was a private party happening. They had to beg the manager to allow them to use the pool. Much to Katie’s dismay Chamberlain is at this party and they bump into each other. Even worse as Beth and Katie are leaving, they once again bump into Chamberlain. Marissa looks at Chamberlain and asks if he is her daddy. Katie did not foresee what this day would bring to her. KC backs down and allows Chamberlain meet Marissa and loves immediately. He says she is the perfect mixture of his grandma; his mom and his KC. KC decides to take a chance with the only man she will ever love and as a family Chamberlain, KC and Marissa leave Denver as a family. Although KC is happy being back with Chamberlain, she dearly misses Beth. Chamberlain will do anything to have KC happy so he hires Beth to be part of his staff, KC is happy that she will get to see Beth again every day. Being around KC and Chamberlain every day Beth realises she will also have to be around Scott for whom she has no time. There is a lot happening in this book and I can guarantee that if you have read part one and loved it you will also love part two. This is most definitely another 5-star read. I absolutely love this series.

The Predator: Part Two is just as good as the first book if not better. No, it’s definitely better. It did not disappoint!! It picks up where book one left off so best be reading that one first troops. I now have any questions from the first book answered. Chamberlain wants what’s his and make no mistake Katie is his. He had lost a part of himself when she was gone. OMG heartbroken, tears, longing, pain and that was just me. It will hit you in all the feels then some. But there is some laughter. As I said with the first book this book has just as many intensely complex intertwined complex threads woven into a heartbreakingly beautiful story. I absolutely love the characters that are fully realise and believable. Sexy, steamy, and sizzling. Brooke’s narrative is spot on. Girl knows how to weave a tale and I have enjoyed each and every one I have read to date. She has become one of my fav authors. I am off to read Wildfire Knockout (The Predator #3).

This is the second book in this series in which I enjoyed just as much as the first one. This is an author that I enjoy reading and their ability to pull me into the character’s world with ease. I enjoy their attention to details that make their characters pop and bring the story to life. I highly suggest reading the first book before this one to help with the enjoyment of this author and where the character’s have been before this. I found this book to be well written and hard to put down. A second chance romance story where the characters are connectable and engaging. They had me turning pages fast. A fast paced story that kept me turning pages to the end. You don’t want to miss what happens with Chamberlain and K.C. for sure. I highly recommend this book.

A continuation of Katie and Chamberlain’s story, this really is an amazing comeback tale. A knockout, if you pardon the pun, that will maybe give you faith in the underdogs again. I can’t tell too much due to spoilers. This is an amazing story that will have you feeling all the emotions and rooting for Katie, Chamberlain, and their family. Their are a few subplots that nicely come back to the main story. Oh, that ending was fabulous. The protagonist got what was coming to them. The author did a great job of tying things up. An absolute must read (though do read part one first)

BOOKBUB – The Predator Part Two (The Predator Series) by Brooke May
Broken, castaway, and forgotten K.C. Cunningham started to find out who she always wanted to be. It changed when she saw him again. Seeing Chamberlain Lawrence brought back everything from her past along with her locked away feelings for him.
If she falls again, if she is led into temptation once more by him the results will end so much worse.
Chamberlain spent endless hours, months, and then years looking for the girl who got away, only to finally find her four years later. His Katie acts like she wants nothing to do with him, but he knows better.
Chamberlain will do anything to make his dreams of a life with K.C. to come true and place her in his life and corner where she belongs once and for all.
Brooke May has been a Wyoming girl her entire life, most of it right here in Sheridan where the majority of her family resides. Growing up, she’s always had a wild imagination that came together to publish her first book, a cowboy romance inspired by her home and the rodeos she’s always loved attending.
Now, she continues to write where her imagination takes her with most books inspired by the scenery and beauty that is Sheridan, the Bighorns, and Wyoming. She’s a wife and mother of two and splits her time writing, playing with her kids, and of course, hiking, hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling in her favorite places in the BigHorns.
The sky isn’t the limit for her and all the stories she still has to share. There’s a little bit of everything for any romance reader; cowboys to fighters, bad boys to soldiers, werewolves to romantic comedies, and even a sweet cupid series for younger readers.
