I absolutely loved this collection of romance stories. This author is one that I only became familiar with within the last year but her work has become one that I look forward to reading every time. I thought each one of these books was a fantastic story in its own right and I loved that they all had a different feel to them.
This is a collection I would struggle to pick my favourite from. I enjoyed each book for a completely different reason and I thought all of the characters were fantastic. This author was already one I knew I enjoyed but this series has solidified them in my mind as one to always turn to. This is a fantastic collection that I would highly recommend.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed reading this collection of romance stories. This is an author that I enjoy reading. Her stories are full of romance and easy to read. They are well written stories with each book having their own unique characters. They are engaging, fast paced stories that will keep you reading until the end. One of the things that I enjoy most with a boxset is that you don’t have to wait for the next book to be published. This box set has seven romance stories and a guarantee to find a favorite among them. My favorite is Never Lovers. Patrice has escaped to her cousin’s ski house after panicking about seeing herself in her wedding dress. What she doesn’t realize is that her past and present are about to crash into each other and shake things up. What happens you will need to read about. I enjoyed reading these seven great romance stories which I highly recommend.

The Rocklyns Collection has turned out to be one of my favorite romance series set this year. Each story is different and I loved every one of them. The writing is done very well. I love the characters. My favorite was Shannon. She just resonated with me. They all felt so real though. They could have been your neighbors. My favorite part is that they are all in one boxed set. It really makes it so convenient for reading. I’m not tech savvy on my Kindle and the less I have to hunt for a book the better. This is a great collection I recommend.

Rainy Day Lovers (The Rocklyns)
By Alicia Street

Rainy Day Lovers is the third book in the Rocklyn series by Alicia Street. Don’t normally read a book that’s already book three of a series as I always wonder what I have missed out on. On saying that this book is a nice quick read, with amazing characters. I liked the characters of Roman and Raina, but the secondary characters in my opinion were just as good. Alicia has given us a heart warming, contemporary love story, a story that flowed perfectly from page to page. I do recommend that this book is read and I hope you enjoy it.

Rainy Day Lovers (The Rocklyns Book 3)Rainy Day Lovers by Alicia Street
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A great read about moving forward. Raina Rocklyn always likes to help people. When she saves a homeless man from being attacked in the rain, she thinks it is just a kind act for someone in need and will never see him again. Twenty odd years later, she bumps into successful plastic surgeon Ronan Blake while working in a market. She falls for him despite his standoffishness towards her but is there more to him than meets the eye?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns. Well developed characters like Raina standing up for herself but still kind underneath or Ronan trying to be a better man with a kind heart. Great cast of supporting characters like the bubbly sister Shannon or the kind but stubborn father of Sydney.
I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like in the busy city full of life and people with its busy streets and restaurants. Or the contrast with the farm and vineyard and market full of fruit and veg and bright colourful flowers in blues and yellows is simple beauty. Or the rain and thunder and lightning with its sounds and smells and seen as a good omen like in folklore instead of being ominous as it is in literature which was refreshing and a lovely touch perfectly written.
The switch of perspectives was well written to display both sides of the story and with the asterisks dividing it with their names made it easy to follow for the reader. I also liked the use of dates and places in the chapter titles which was a great addition to give the reader a clear sense of location and to display how much time had passed. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.

Rainy Day Lovers (The Rocklyns #3) by Alicia Street – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Rainy Day Lovers (The Rocklyns Book 3)Rainy Day Lovers by Alicia Street
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rainy Day Lovers was a great book from start to finish. The characters were great and the plot was great.
It all started in 2001 when Raina was witness to a homeless guy around her age was getting attacked. He wasn’t only homeless but he was in some sort of horrific accident by the look of his face. Raina saved the young man and took him to get something to eat. Then gave him money and some good advise. She told Robbie to go speak with a friend of hers and she knew if given the chance she knew he would make the best of it. All because of Raina, Robbie stepped in to help a man being robbed in a park one night and his life changed.

Fifteen years later Raina and Robbie ( who now goes by Roman ) somehow meet again. Roman has a new face and is a plastic surgeon. All things happen for a reason. Fate stepped in and did the right thing in this book about second chance meetings / romances. Roman keeps his past hidden to Raina and doesn’t tell her that he was the homeless guy she helped all those years ago. What will happen when the truth comes out.
This book was such a sweet read. I love Roman. He’s just an all around great guy and I believe he was given that second chance at a happy life because of his run in with Raina.

Rainy Day Lovers (The Rocklyns Book 3) by Alicia Street
4 out of 5 stars
I must say that this book starts with some series heart strings. This book can be read as a stand alone but I recommend picking up the previous 2 books as this one is just as good as the first two. Raina, or Rainy, as she likes to be called, spent most of her young adult life as the peacekeeper in what can be loosely called a dysfunctional household. When she grew up to become a family law attorney, she continued in that role, and is downright appalled to realize that she has pretty much let life slip her by.
Roman had a rough start in life. A tragic house fire took his family from him and left him orphaned, marred and in the foster system. When the group home setting didn’t work out so well, he took to the streets, only to be rescued, if only briefly, by the well-meaning Rainy. He fought his way out of his terrible position and is now a plastic surgeon, who helps heal the physical scars of others, all while the scars he suffers with, both physical and emotional, eat away at him.
These two characters are a fire waiting to ignite, and when they do, they are set ablaze. The dynamic between these two is unlike any that I have read before and the author has crafted a unique dual POV that had me hooked from the first page. You will not regret this story.

Rainy Day Lovers (The Rocklyns Book 3)Rainy Day Lovers by Alicia Street
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rainy Day Lovers is the 3rd book in the Rocklyns series by Alicia Street. Each book in the series can be read as a stand-alone. This is the first book I have read by this author and if this book is anything to go by, I’ll be reading more.
Rainy Day Lovers is a short read (120 pages) but there’s so much packed into those 120 pages. It’s a heart-warming story which shows that if someone really believes in you and encourages you, you can achieve great things.
Raina (Rainy) Rocklyn has a heart of gold and will do anything to help others. One such act of kindness totally changed the life of homeless teenager Robbie Malako when she saved him from a brutal attack. Robbie had been badly burned in a fire and was badly disfigured which lead him to be the subject of abuse and attack.
Years later Raina meets handsome plastic surgeon Roman Blake at a family wedding. There is an instant attraction between them but Roman brushes her off and acts very coldly towards her. Life has other plans and the 2 are forced to spend time together. Unknown to Rainy, Roman is actually Robbie. Not long after the incident with Rainy he was adopted by a plastic surgeon who totally transformed his life.
This is a beautiful story with 2 characters that I adored. If you are looking for a quick read that will make you all warm and fuzzy inside then Rainy Day Lovers is the book for you.

This was my first read by this author and I really enjoyed this story! It may be book 3 but i was able to read this as a standalone.
While I enjoyed this book, I also felt the two main characters were kind of rushed. We got a little back story, and then they’re kind of thrust together and there wasn’t much “woo-ing” they just sort of were. I just wanted a little bit more from that otherwise this was a realpy great storyline and something different that I haven’t read before.
Will be reading the rest of this series now!

Rainy Day Lovers (The Rocklyns Book 3)Rainy Day Lovers by Alicia Street
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A brilliant romantic read with two strong, powerful characters, Rainy Day Lovers is Book 3 in The Rocklyns Series by Alicia Street. This is a captivating and inspiring read of determination, romance, second chances, and undeniable connections.

I loved how we first get introduced into this story and the characters with a flash back, but with that being said I also felt like throughout the story I felt like I skipped parts and missed out on information, but this does not put a dampener on this book, it’s romantic, and just a go-to book. There are a variety of different emotions you feel while reading it, you were smiling, you were sad and it had a lot of parts that are feel good and warm hearted.
I love how quickly Rainy calls Roman out when he gives her mixed signals, but I also love the depth that Rainy and Roman connects. Throughout the book Rainy knew what she wanted and wasn’t afraid to go after that, which made it even more special when Roman was determined for the same thing, especially after all he has been through.
Reading it in various POV’s really gives you a better insight into each character, their thoughts and most importantly their true feelings.

This is an incredible read that even though it’s part of a series, can easily be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone and you will not want to miss it!
Don’t miss this read, it will leave you wanting more, I can’t wait to see what this author does for the rest of this series!

Rainy Day Lovers (The Rocklyns Book 3)Rainy Day Lovers by Alicia Street

Rainy Day Lovers is the third book in The Rocklyns series by Alicia Street. This is my first read from Ms. Street, so I didn’t really know what to expect going in. But the blurb sounded promising, and the cover is lovely, so in I went.  What I found was a wonderful, well-written, contemporary romance- with characters who drew me into their story and kept me turning the pages to follow them while their story unfolded. Roman and of Raina- what can I say, I absolutely loved them. They are so well developed and complicated individuals- but written in such a way that they were entirely realistic, relatable and believable. I was invested in them and their lovely story. I felt for them too, especially Roman! Even though there were times I wanted to shake them, both!
And even the secondary characters added to the whole storyline. They have intrigued me enough to want to go back and read the rest of the series, before any new installments come out.
I read the book in a little over an hour, and found it have a great pace, and is a smooth and easy read.
A lovely romance, and I can’t wait to explore the rest of the series!

Thank you, Ms. Street!

Rainy Day Lovers (The Rocklyns Book 3)Rainy Day Lovers by Alicia Street

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I was able to get into the series with no problem as other characters are explained well. I love ongoing series and I am going to add the other stories to my “wish list”.

This is a very quick novella that seems to be a background story to other main characters. I enjoyed the style of writing and the fact that even though this is a short story, it held a lot of action with the H/h. While some of it moved too quickly and was too convenient, it was a decent read.

I recommend this story.

Rainy Day Lovers ( The Rocklyns Book 3) by Alicia Street. This is a great contemporary romance. You can read it as a series or standalone and its a super fast read. The story is about Raina aka Rainy and Roman. Rainy is a strong, independent, tough young lady who is always looking out for the underdog. Having to be the peacemaker and caregiver to her younger siblings due to no fault of her own she is a in charge kind of girl or otherwise know as “Bossy”. She has the best heart though and she becomes a Family Law Attorney and pours herself into her work becoming a workaholic. Roman is dealt a horrible hand early in life that leaves him disfigured and scared. He is rescued and helped to become a successful plastic surgeon where he and Rainy’s paths cross again. Will she quit working long enough to have a life and will he trust her with his heart. This is such a sweet story, you will shed tears and laugh.

By Alicia Street

This is a wonderful romantic read with great characters. I loved getting to know Raina and Roman, they are wonderful thought out characters with their own flaws and wonderful attributes. Roman’s past still pains him and has become a part of who he is which makes him that much more relatable to me. I absolutely loved Raina and her big heart and no nonsense ways. This book sad, heartwarming, romantic, and very emotional, I loved every minute of reading this story that has touched my heart. I highly recommend this book.

Rainy Day Lovers (The Rocklyns Book 3)Rainy Day Lovers by Alicia Street
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Rainy Day Lovers is book three in the Rocklyns series by Alicia Street. Reading this author’s work for the first time was enlightening and a thrill to read.

Raina and Roman meet under difficult circumstances, but it is a meeting that remains with therm long after they leave each other’s company. Fast forward a few years and they meet again, but nothing is ever what it seems. They are both insanely attracted to each other, but something stops them from connecting in a deeper level. I liked the way the story was set out. The characters were complex and well developed. I felt that Roman was born mature and had not really experienced how carefree life could be. Raina was much more excited about life and just wanted to find love and live happily ever after.

Rainy Day Lovers is a romance that has many varied events that will bring out mixed emotions. Sadness, tension, attraction, passion, acceptance, new beginnings and so much more. 4 stars.
