Dead Late (Things Unseen, #3)Dead Late by Anise Eden

“Dr. Cornelius O’Brien brought his new girlfriend, psychotherapist Neve Keane, to his home country of Ireland for a romantic getaway. There’s just one thing they need to do first: a personal favor for the President of the United States. It’s supposed to be simple. Check on his goddaughter, who’s studying abroad in Cork City. But with each step they take, Neve and Cornelius find themselves slipping, then sliding irrevocably toward a terrifying, clandestine abyss of human suffering. Now, trapped by dark forces he can’t escape, Cornelius must make a terrible choice: violate the Hippocratic oath or put Neve in imminent danger. Kept in the dark, Neve faces her own perilous dilemma: honor her promise to Cornelius or act quickly to keep an innocent young woman out of the hands of murderers.
Meanwhile, the patient is prepped… and the clock is ticking.” What is going to happen with neve ? Is she able to protect this patient, will have to read the book to find out. This is the 3rd in the series. I recommend reading from the beginning to follow the characters. Good storyline, had me at some points like what is happening, good and fast read. I am not sure how I feel the way it ended but I give this book 4 stars.

This is one of my favorite romantic suspense series. This is book 3 and it has to be my favorite yet. Con and Neve go on a big adventure yet. While they are one this adventure, she’s trying to process what’s happening with her health. That’s a lot to go through to be dealing with a mystery and processing your health issues. I find that the details of the story and the characters always bring such life to the story. The story carries on from where it pretty much ended in the previous book. I like how previous characters can make an appearance. The flow is perfect for the story. I highly recommend this series. It’s so very good.

A gripping romantic suspense thriller and the conclusion of the enjoyable ‘Things Unseen’ series. Having read and enjoyed the two previous books, being back with Dr. Cornelius O’Brien and psychotherapist Neve Keane, was like meeting old friends again! Cornelius (Con) takes girlfriend Neve for a romantic break in his home country of Ireland. Before they can relax they have to do a favour for the President of the United States. Checking in on his goddaughter who’s studying in Cork was supposed to be easy, but Neve and Con find themselves in a terrifying situation. Both Con and Neve face terrible dilemmas and must make difficult choices whilst in danger. Once again the descriptive narrative brought both the characters and the setting vividly to life, making me feel immersed in Con and Neve’s world again. I liked how their relationship developed throughout the series of books, and the chemistry between them really came across in the narrative. This action packed and fast paced story had me hooked from page one. Whilst the plot twists and the building suspense kept me reading late into the night!

This is the third book in the Things Unseen series. It reads well as a stand alone but I recommend reading the first two books to get the most out of the overall arc of the story. The first two books were great reads and this conclusion in the novel is also fantastic. Eden creates suspense and tension in the novel making the reader hooked to read more!

This is the third book in the Things Unseen Series and after loving book 1 and 2 I knew there was no way I wouldn’t pick this one up. Anise Eden can write and she knows how to do romantic suspense/psychological suspense. I loved Dead Late. I recommend reading the series in order though to get the most enjoyment out of it. It’s not a requirement, but I really like seeing how Con and Neve’s relationship progressed throughout the books even when they were ‘under the gun’ so to speak. Not only did I love the main characters, but the secondary characters were amazing as well, not to mention the way she paints the picture in your mind of the scenery, with so much suspense, and tension, it all comes together to make for a thrilling read.

This is the third and lastly final episode in this gripping series Things Unseen. I am sad to see the series end but look forward to more from Anise. You do not have to read them in order even though they could be read as standalones. There is too much you are missing out on if you don’t. Anise Eden gives us a psychological thriller at its best.
Dead Late is a dark psychological romantic thriller with lots of suspense and had me just as addicted to it as the first two books. This is a dangerous and deadly world our characters suddenly find themselves thrust into and broken promises made just to survive. It’s a world that goes far beyond what one can imagine, one where the reach is far and wide.
Anise has cleverly thought out and masterfully crafted a complex and intricate web of well executed threads. What is waiting for them in the dark? Whatever it is it had my heart pounding and on the edge. There are lies, deceit, danger and tension that is palpable and deadly games are being played.
Step between the pages if you dare.

This book had me guessing all the way around. Love the characters that Anise Eden builds in her stories. Her form of writing leaves you speechless and on your toes. When she brings in Neve as the victim in her own job as a therapist she needs to overcome that fear with the help of Doctor O’Brien.

Anise Eden brings the viewpoint of how the world can be and how people see the world as dark and evil lurking around. When she puts a Doctor and therapist in this world the viewpoint of history that lies beneath each patient especially when one of their patients went into a coma in a bizarre way they have to see what lies in his history back home.

I was so excited to start this book, Dead Keen is book 2 in the Things Unseen series, because I really enjoyed book 1. Neve and Con got into even more shenanigans in book 2. In the process of helping Ciara, cons younger brothers wife, with her mental illness and phantom pain that stems from her relationship with her ex-boyfriend Max. Neve ends up stowing away in Cons car when he tries to question Max, which makes him look incredibly guilty, they end up being left to die in a cave, and are arrested, and taken to jail. I also really enjoyed the sweet, wholesome relationship that is still developing between Neve and Con. They care about each other so much but have fun with each other and the snark level was adorable. I would definitely recommend anyone who enjoys a good thriller with some romance undercurrent to give this novel a try. They don’t have to be read in order to understand the plot but it would help with understanding the characters, their motivations, and relationships. I loved it.

Dead Keen is Book Two in the Things Unseen Series and the sequel to Dead Sound. If you have not yet read the first book in the series, I highly recommend that you do. Book One will give you an introduction to the characters and their backstories which will give you a better idea of the ordeal that the characters have been through. Dead Keen is a gripping psychological thriller with elements of action, drama, suspense, romance, danger, and drama. Picking up where the first book left off, Neve and Con are flying to Ireland in the hopes to rest, relax, and recoup from the ordeal that they have recently been put through. The pair are enjoying the beauty of Ireland until they get entangled in a mystery involving a deadly cult. Suddenly, their magical getaway turns sinister, and they find themselves in a deadly game of cat and mouse. Neve and Con find themselves battling against video game designers, ancient gods, and evil cult leaders. The tension builds throughout the book as the pair try to unravel the lies and secrets while facing off against an evil cult leader.

Another amazing book by this talented author who drew me into the story from the first few pages and kept me hooked until the end. The writing was so vivid and descriptive that it pulled me into the story and made me feel as though I was there in Ireland with the characters. Neve and Con are a wonderful couple who fit together like pieces of a puzzle. The ordeals that they were put through brought them closer together as they leaned on each other for support. A brilliant rollercoaster ride with twists and turns that will keep you riveted until the end. I highly recommend this book!

What a way to start a book! Instantly grabbed my attention, which I LOVE. If you can grab my attention in just the first 2 pages, then that’s a great book in my opinion. I was intrigued when I read what this book is about and my goodness, I’m glad I read this one. The suspense, the thrill…OBSESSED. I never wanted it to end. Now I’m going to start the next book of this series, because I haven’t had enough. LOVE this authors writing as well!! So so good. There’s also a little bit of romance and I just love when writers can put a little bit of each genre, in their work! Highly recommend this series!

Dr Con O’Brien travels back to Ireland with his new girlfriend Neve, a therapist, to help his brother solve a medical mystery with his fiancée Ciara. Ciara’s ex, Max has caused much trauma and his cult past and dark secrets are the key to helping Ciara.
This is the second book. I didn’t read the first, and while I did fine reading the second, I wish I had read it, there were a lot of references to things that happened in it that would have made more sense.
It was still a great read with a good story line.

This is the second book in the Things Unseen Series. I would recommend reading these books in order as it will give you a better understanding of the characters and why they find themselves in the position they are in now.
We are back with Con and Neve. After they barely survived their first adventure together they are asked to help Con’s brother and his partner Ciara. After Ciara starts suffering with a mysterious illness that means she harms herself while she sleeps she is admitted to hospital. And this is where Con and Neve come in as they work together to uncover the reason before these episodes and hopefully find a way of stopping them.
However things aren’t straight forward and their investigation leads them into danger as they try to get answers from Ciara’s ex and a cult leader has them in his sites.
This is a fast paced Suspense story as we yet again see Con and Neve put themselves in danger trying to protect someone else. The twists and turns in this story were great. I never knew what to expect and I was gripped from beginning to end.
Can Neve and Con help to get to the bottom of Ciara’s problems? What will they uncover along the way? And at what cost.

I loved this book. It was a great read that I couldn’t put down.

This book is the second in a series. I did not read the first book, and I was able to follow along fairly easily. I found the writing style to be addictive and hard to put down! The book starts out as Neve and Con going to visit Con’s family. Con’s brother’s fiance, Ciara, is being plagued with mental issues and seemingly self harm. Neve and Con come to help diagnose and treat Ciara while visiting family. But is it really that simple? The twists really keep you from putting the book down and keep you coming back to read. My only real complaint is that I had to sleep and couldn’t keep reading.

Dead Keen (Things Unseen Book 2) by Anise Eden. I loved the first book in this series and this one was no different. It kept me flipping pages late in the night. I do recommend the first book to better understand what’s going on but this can be read as a standalone. Its the continuing story of Neve and Con’s story as they are flying to Ireland for her birthday. Neve is still recovering from her former job physically and emotionally. Once they get to lovely Ireland they are loving all the beauty and Neve is especially loving getting to know more about Con’s family. When they get entangled with a deadly cult involving video games and old god’s they are in a fight for their life. You will get to see the true devotion these two have for one another as they once again fight for their lives. Seeing the gentle side of Con helping Neve with her panic attacks was a sweet part of his story and I loved the setting of Ireland. The author writes so well I felt like I was actually in beautiful Ireland. I can’t wait for the next book in this amazing series.

Dead Keen (Things Unseen #2)Dead Keen by Anise Eden

Dead Keen is the second book in the Things Unseen series. It’s a sequel to Dead Sound, but can be read as a standalone. It’s a thriller that centres around nightmares. Con and Neve are back, having travelled to London, and are using their knowledge of psychology to help Con’s future sister-in-law, Ciara, who is being haunted by bad dreams and dangerous sleepwalking.

Along the way, Con and Neve are also dealing with some of their own psychological baggage. Neve’s anxiety is more intense in the aftermath of the previous book. And Con has to confront the family issues that made him leave Ireland a long time ago. They both need space to heal, but are also driven to help Ciara escape her torment.

This is a page-turner, absolutely fascinating to read. I love encountering Ireland through Neve’s eyes, for the first time. There are beautiful descriptions of scenery and landmarks as she explores. And Con’s family bring some interesting dynamics to the story.

I’d recommend this book to fans of medical and psychological thrillers. It gets five stars from me!

Dead Sound (Things Unseen, #1)Dead Sound by Anise Eden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This romantic suspense story had me hooked from start to finish. Psychotherapist Neve Keane is just returning to the hospital where she works having been stabbed by a patient, when she’s surrounded by a crowd of people claiming that she needs to help stop the apocalypse! Neve joins forces with Cornelius O’Brien, a rather streetwise doctor as the crowds leader is also a patient of his, things become even more complicated when he falls into a mysterious coma. The pair are pulled into a Byzantine plot that seems to transforms the Capitol Hill General into a dangerous place. Neve and Cornelius must follow the clues that their comatose patient left behind, but this leads them into the underworld of Washington DC, and into a world of shadowy political forces with deadly intentions. With threats and betrayal everywhere the couple race to unravel the sinister conspiracy which seems to lead back to the White House, all whilst having targets on their backs. This was an action packed page turner, which kept me gripped throughout. The main characters were both likeable and relatable which helped make me feel engaged with the story. The storyline had plenty of drama and the suspense really built chapter by chapter, keeping me happily turning the pages!

Having read and thoroughly enjoyed book one in this series I was looking forward to being back with the main characters, Con and Neve, and I was not disappointed. In this story Con O’Brien, a doctor and his new girlfriend, psychotherapist Neve Keane have traveled to Ireland to meet Con’s family, but also to help solve a medical mystery, that could destroy his brother’s life. Con and Neve are getting away from the dangers that still lurk in Washington, DC, and Neve believes that the key to curing a baffling illness lies with an elusive video game designer who lives in Galway, and as he’s not answering his phone she’s going to see him in person. Meanwhile, the leader of a cult, who believes he has gained the favour of an accident god is demanding the ultimate sacrifice.
Their time in Ireland turns out to be anything but a break and they soon find themselves in danger, uncovering sinister secrets, having to rescue innocent victims and stop deadly evil! This action packed and fast paced story had me hooked from page one and kept me gripped throughout. Once again the descriptive narrative brought both the characters and the setting vividly to life, and made me feel immersed in Con and Neve’s world again. The romantic suspense storyline along with plenty of drama and the building suspense kept me entertained, and the plot kept me guessing as to the outcome of the story. An entertaining and enjoyable read and I look forward to more novels featuring the main characters.

Sooo, after reading everything available about this book I don’t know what I expected it to be about but it wasn’t that. I’m so glad that I didn’t though because I probably wouldn’t have picked it up and I would have really missed out on a great read! I liked Neve but I think my favorite character was Conman and maybe Erik the Viking. This book did have a few sensitive topics like Neves forced hospitalization, her being forcibly medicated (Con to the rescue), and an assassination attempt but it all added to an expertly thought out, well written plot. I can’t wait to read book 2 to see what they get up to in Ireland.
