It is always been one of my favorite things to find new authors and after reading this story, I will definitely be looking for more from this author. This book was gripping right from the very start, while I am any a huge fan of physiological thrillers, this one just kept me guessing from one page to the next and I couldn’t put it down until I finished it. This book had so many elements that I just couldn’t physically believe it. Some elements include fantastic characters including Neve and Con, a mysterious but incredible story line, a fabulous romance, and even some humor. So If your looking for a great new mysterious story look no further.

Wow, was a major word playing through my mind while I read throughout this entire novel. I absolutely had no idea what I was going to be getting into with this one because this is a new author to me but I just knew I needed to see what it was all about when I saw the cover and some teasers. I am glad that I dove in without hesitation because this novel really just threw some wild ideas out there that I loved. It had so many things going on but managed to keep things flowing flawlessly. We have the mental health and sinister side of things building suspense. Then you have romance and intrigue building along with our main character. You would think all this gets to be too much but really it doesn’t and I was simply left with wanting more. I can’t wait for book two and to find out what will come next.

This new to me author delivers a great read!! From the first page I was caught up in the unravelling story. With twists and turns, political intrigue and believable situations this book has it all. All set in Washington D.C., such a hotbed of intrigue and dirty players.. I loved the interaction between the main characters, really hoping there will be a Book 2!!

Dead Sound is a romantic suspenseful story. It held my interest because I could not stop turning the pages. The author’s attention to detail is amazing. The story has a fast pace, intriguing plot, and wonderful characters to bring this story to life. This story is about Neve, a psychotherapist who was going to return to work at the hospital after being stabbed by a patient. There is trickery afoot. The people around her and her best friend Irish doctor O’Brien find that there is danger around every corner. Will she follow the clues or will she fall victim again to the evilness around her? I highly recommend this book especially if you like suspenseful plots with romance squeezed into the pages.

Been a while since I read a psychological Thriller and this had me gripped to my seat until I finished it. Con and Neve both work in the same hospital although Neve has had some time off due to being stabbed. When she starts work again she feels that something odd is going on at the hospital and wants to get to the bottom of it, with Cons help but is everything as it appears to be?

Dead Sound was an awesome read that takes you on an adventure. Neve is a psychotherapist just returning to work after being stabbed by a patient. She returns to quite the scene as she is surrounded by patients claiming she is the one to stop the impending apocalypse. With the words of one of her patients and the help of Con, her best friend and fellow doctor, she is thrust into a plot that has betrayal in the center of DC politics. I highly recommend beginning this new book series. It will sweep you up in the fast-paced plot and leave you wanting more. I’m looking forward to the next in this authors Things Unseen series.

This novel, was amazing from start to finish! I had read other works by this gifted author, but this one truly had me under its spell. I was hooked and even rattled at times, I could not find a reason to put it down, one more chapter always turned into, well, I need more answers, it was so darn good!\
There was a lot of appeal for me and this novel. I found it haunting at times with a suspense that kept on building as I had read on through! Honestly I did not expect how much it had made a clear mind think, there was things that came to question I would not get normally in a suspenseful novel. I did very much welcome it though! This was a suspenseful thriller set to do with politicians, that was unlike any other!
Neve was wonderful, her characterization was through the roof of being exceptional! I really connected with her, in ways more less that one would not think or believe. The supporting characters were wonderful as well, and a true aid to the story. The whole plot was gripping, and watching it unfold, well it was better and more shocking than I had even hoped for! This was extremely well done!
I could not honestly get enough of this book. The story keeps you in suspense, and the romantic side was a very nice realistic touch as well. It was just so good, I could not put it down, in the sense of , I kept wanting more! I highly recommend this suspenseful thriller, seriously, not one to be past up!

Thought-provoking psychological thriller A very unexpected find, this book had me intrigued from the start. A bit of a mix between medical, religion and politics gives this story so much depth. The suspense is layered throughout and takes the reader on a roller coaster of emotions. With romance scattered amongst the pages, this book has it all. A brilliant book that caters for a diverse audience.

This was a thrilling and suspenseful 5 star read. This was my first read from this author and I was pulled right in, I look forward to reading more from her.
Nev (Neviah), who works as a therapist returns to work after being stabbed. Some of the patients have started to act very unusual and talk about an apocalypse. Wondering what is going on she works with Con (Cornelius) to try and get some answers. They have a close friendship but also have some hidden feelings for each other. As they work together, they discover some dangerous things that make them targets by some dangerous people.
Will they survive? Can they solve the mystery?
Overall this was a gread read with suspense, romance, tragedy and so much more. The author does a great job with her writing. I was on the edge of my seat as I was reading to see what was coming next. All of the characters added a great element to the story. The ending was great and I can’t wait to read more from this series and author. 1-click and get started today.

Wow…there is so much going on in this book and I enjoyed every minute of it.
Neve is returning to work after an attack and is stunned by the scene she walks into. Turns out, she is the center of something that she has no idea about. Her boss, Rosanna (the first time I have ever seen my own name as a character!), tries to talk her into going home until things settle down. Neve refuses as she wants (and needs) to be back at work.
Another person who wants to keep Neve safe is a fellow doctor, Cornelius (known as Con). They both have a mutual attraction that they keep hidden…or so they think. Neve hasn’t acted on her feelings because she doesn’t want to ruin their friendship…and Con hasn’t because, until recently, Neve had a boyfriend.
As the hospital is dealing with the patients who believe Neve plays an important role in thwarting the apocalypse that will be brought on by another doctor, Neve and Con must work together to figure out what is going on. As they are working through the clues they are coming across, they find themselves knee-deep in the underbelly of Washington DC and a political conspiracy.
There are so many aspects of this story that work well together to create an adventure like no other…tragedy, romance, mental health, politics, suspense, and love. It’s all there, woven together seamlessly. This was the first book that I have read from this author…but it won’t be my last!

This is one of those books that takes sucks you in from page one and holds you all the way until the end. I love how the author starts write off jumping into the story action. There are no dreary pages of descriptions of the landscape around them. Grab you by the seat and let’s go action is the best way to go. The premise of the plot was exciting. An original way to cover the apocalypse theme and it was awesome. Everything ran together like a smooth jazz song. Highly recommend.

Intriguing I feel is the best way to describe Dead Sound! I didn’t love it but I didn’t dislike it either. I wanted to know what was happening which kept me reading! I enjoyed how the author wrote the characters as well. Con was definitely a protector, especially when it came to everything Neve. Neve on the other hand seems to do what everyone does(which is extremely relatable), she can’t apply what she knows to herself. What I mean is, as a therapist she knows how to navigate situations and help talk other’s through things, but she seems to struggle applying that same concept to her life. Returning to work after being attacked, Neve walks onto the psychiatric floor and is greeted by patients worshiping at her feet, unnerving to someone who was attacked the last she worked. Seems to get caught up in a dangerous conspiracy due to one of her established patients Amos. Con, a colleague of Neve who wants to be more, does everything he can do to protect Neve from getting sucked into the dangerous conspiracy, he also being one of Amos Doctors, feels the information that was decrypted from the “Book of Amos” would put her in to much danger despite the promise she made. What does Con do? Does Neve find out he’s withholding from her? How is her boss involved? What has Amos done? If those questions intrigue you as much as they intrigued me, you really need to check this book out! You’ll want to know what happens, and the only way you’re finding that out is reading for yourself!

I enjoyed this suspenseful story. This is a well written story that is fast paced, engaging and full of action. I enjoyed being pulled into the story from the beginning by the author’s use of details. Her characters are connectable and brought the story to life on each page. The twists and turns had me sitting on the edge of my seat just waiting to see what would happen next. Neve is just returning to work after being stabbed only to get more than she wanted. When a patient turns up in a coma, she and the doctor, Cornelius are left in a mystery they are determined to solve. Now they are marked with a target on their backs, will they survive? They are such great strong characters that kept me turning pages. I really enjoyed this book. I highly recommend this book.

OMG! This story is a great suspense psychological thriller that is a mad page turner. Conspiracies check, Political agendas definitely, lies and deceit absolutely, deadly and dangerous games oh yeah. This is a dangerous world our characters suddenly find themselves in one that goes far beyond what one can imagine, one where the reach is far and wide. It is an intricate and complex web that this author has cleverly crafted and it is one that is masterfully thought out and executed and is spellbinding and had me agitated, sitting on the edge and heart pounding. It is unpredictable, the tension is palpable and it has just the right amount of humour. It is a political psychological thriller at its best. I am not going to give anything away it is one little gem that is best discovered all by its self. Reviewed by @jennadb

From the first sentence of this book, I felt like I was watching a movie. Absolutely captivating. I cannot begin to put into words how drawn in I was by not only the mystery/thrill aspect of this novel, but the romance between Neve and Con.
This book is definitely going to be making its way to my shelf. I wish I could read it again for the first time. To say I loved this novel would be an understatement. It has even moved its way into my top ten favorite reads; which is incredibly difficult to accomplish.

Yes yes yes!!!!!!!! Now this is a five star read! If you are a fan of psychological thrillers, reading this is a must. There is humor, there is romance but you NEVER see it coming! If you don’t believe me let me tell you I read this in one sitting! This story starts with our main girl returning from a tragedy that happened at work! Has she recovered, can she move forward? Now this has a dystopian trope to it that does not disappoint. Anticipation is an understatement and let’s say we all need a bestie like Con. This author made me feel like I was part of this story in such a plot she introduces humor at just the right moments. The ending had me ready to reread automatically. I cannot stress this enough, you will be hooked by the first page.
“…..Please tell me you believe me, I’m begging you!”

The tender scars on her abdomen throb as memories of the attack come rushing back, flooding her mind and sending her heart racing…
Psychotherapist Neve Keane knew that returning to work at the hospital after being stabbed by a patient would be difficult. But entering her unit only to be surrounded by a crowd of people claiming they need her help to stop the apocalypse—that’s more than she bargained for.
When the crowd’s leader turns out to be a mutual patient of Neve and her best friend, streetwise Irish doctor Cornelius O’Brien, they are both pulled into a Byzantine plot that transforms Capitol Hill General into a dangerous place where threats and betrayals lurk around every corner.
Then their mutual patient falls into a mysterious coma, and the clues he left behind lead Neve and Cornelius straight into Washington, DC’s ugly underbelly, a world of shadowy political forces with long arms and deadly intentions.
As they race to unravel the threads of a sinister conspiracy that leads from their hospital all the way to the White House, Neve and Cornelius realize they might be fighting to stop the end of the world, after all—provided they can survive the week with targets on their backs.
