I absolutely love how this author makes these books that you could read them as stand alone and not have to read them in order. Even thou there are probably parts that would be clearer if reading the books before, but you won’t feel too lost doing so. This was another great book with Logan and her challenges of being involved in murder and crime. This book really made a great informative story with sea otters that I found very enjoyable. I was hooked right from the beginning just like the others and couldn’t get enough of these stories. Logan is a strong willed, smart, string, courageous women. This book was filled with suspense, mystery, drama, secrets and so much more, that it kept me intrigued the whole time. I felt like I was constantly on the edge of my seat reading this. Really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to drive into the next one.

This was a very suspenseful murder mystery that I really enjoyed reading. This story had to from the beginning, and it really was enjoyable to know what was going to happen throughout the book. This book I did feel was missing something thou, I really like how this strong-willed woman takes a strong lead in the story. Logan can be a really related character and even with normal things like glassblowing was very interesting. Logan is trying to pick her life up from what happened with her husband and putting it all together that things all of a sudden feel like they might just get worse. But with her determination and never-ending investigation this book really had some twists and turns and was very entertaining to read. great book for a first book in the series I do hope I learn more about Logan in the next books.

Valerie Davisson delivers another great Logan McKenna thriller. Back in Oregon at The New School, Logan discovers a dead body. This woman keeps finding herself in the middle of the flames! This book has the same believable, realistic, perfectly imperfect characters from the previous books and you can’t help but feel connected to them. The Oregon forest comes to life with the vivid world building Davisson brings to the table. I could almost smell the pine needles and hear the owl calling. Whisper Creek was full of the same twists and turns I have come to expect from Valerie Davisson, and I absolutely love it! This book kept me second-guessing myself about who I thought the murderer was. I can’t wait to read more!

This is book 6 in the Logan McKenna series. You can read any of them as a stand alone book, but I recommend reading them all in order. You get the best experience that way, I believe. I’ve really enjoyed following along with Logan and her journey in life. I feel like I’ve gotten to know her over these past six books. This book does start a little slow inn my opinion, but having read all of the previous books in the series, I knew it wouldn’t continue that way. The story jumps far within different time periods. It does so gracefully and with ease.

This is the 5th book in the Logan McKenna series and they never stop being interesting. These books have you on the edge of your seat and you want to keep reading. Logan takes a vacation for the first time in years, but cannot help but to get involved in a mystery.

When many hands lay claim on land that the Sea Otter House is built and the greed to this leads to murder of a volunteer. Who would want to murder one of Logan’s students and volunteer to that extent feeling like they lay claim on this land. The greed and suspense….will Logan be able to find out who is responsible for this murderous act?

Secrets, lies, murder with twists and turns along the way! Shattered is Book 1 in The Logan McKenna Series and this is the first book I have read by this author. I thought this book was very good, engaging crime thriller as I try to piece together a murder mystery and love to find out the “who done it”.

Logan McKenna is trying to move on her life after losing her husband two years prior and the aftermath. Picking up a job as a substitute teacher, Logan helps students learn who end up doing well in test, but the there are other teachers who accuse Logan of students and cheating. Taking a break in teaching and these horrible accusations, Logan decides to help at a local festival with her friends, unfortunately there is a murder at the glass blowing booth and Logan’s best friend, Thomas is accused of this crime. Will Logan be able to piece together and find out who the true murderer is before it is to late?

Read and find out! I love the female lead in this series and I am looking forward to reading more!

This is the seventh book in the series. You don’t have to read the previous books to enjoy this one, but it will give you more background on the characters if you do.

With this story, I feel like I could have read the prologue, and then skipped all the way to chapter nine because the previous chapters felt like they were dragging on a bit.

Once the story picked up it was great! Descriptive wording. Superb character development. Awesome twists and turns.

Overall, an enjoyable read.

This is another fantastic Logan Mckenna Crime novel by Valerie Davisson. Logan Mckenna has become one of my most favorite characters in a crime novel as of late. In this novel, she finds herself in the middle of another situation along the coast of Oregon.
She is traveling with her boyfriend, daughter and her daughter’s family. They are there to whale watch and maybe get a little fishing in. But per usual, murder seems to happen where Logan is and once again she finds herself helping with the investigation.
Once again, one of my favorite parts of this Logan Mckenna novel is the side characters. Those characters we meet who are part of the investigation in some way shape or form. The author always puts an impeccable amount of detail into these characters and makes them such an integral part of the story.
This is yet another Valerie Davisson Novel that I did not want to put down. It contains her usual wonderful characters and a plot that has so much detail that it is hard to walk away from. I definitely recommend it and I cannot wait for the next Logan Mckenna novel!

Whisper Creek is the seventh book in the Logan McKenna Mystery Series and is a Crime/ Thriller that will have you turning the pages till the end. I’ve read several books by this author and this series and have truly enjoyed reading every single one of them. This may be my favorite yet of this series but I’ve said that with each new book. This authors style of writing and attention to detail pulls you into their world and the twists and turns will have you turning the pages trying to figure out what is going to happen next. Her characters are real, fully developed and make the story come to life. Logan is back at it again but this time she’s away from home visiting friends when a body is found and her friends the prime suspects. Logan is in a race against time as she tries to protect her friends and get to the bottom things before they strike again. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series

What a brilliant start to what looks like is going to be a phenomenal series !

So Logan and Jack were married and ran their their computer business . After he dies I. And accident she’s left settling debts and selling the business . She now needs a job and starts working at a school but it would seem that her job is under threat but she takes everything in her stride ….

She buys a small house at the beach in South Calafornia , she has friends there that partake I the annual otter festival and she’s going to help them at their stall and play her fiddle and wait for this she loves Edith Piaf ( like hello new best friend ) oh and she has a yummy Viking looking neighbour named Ben . He welcomes her to the neighbourhood with coffee , how sweet is this man !?

I enjoyed the way both the arts of knife making and glass blowing was explained and it really did intrigue me I even shared parts of the knife making with a friend of mine whose husband makes knives !!
I fell in with little Dimebox 🐾❣️ thank you Logan for giving the little fur ball another chance at life 🥰

Thomas and Lisa , married friends of Logan have their stall at the festival and she helps them , all things seems to be going well until a body is found at the glassblowers stall !
Thomas is a suspect and Logan isn’t having any of it and is determined to prove his innocence .

I’m keen to find out if things will develop between her and Ben but more I’d like to go for a drive with her in Lola , her ‘58 Corvette 😉

The way Davisson wove multi-generational trauma into the plot make this an interesting read. This book can stand alone, but is even more intriguing if you have read the previous novels in the series. The author did a good job of bringing the characters to life on the page. There are time jumps from the Great Depression era up to 2020, which creates two story arcs. This was done well in a way that glued the plot together. If you like crime and psychological thrillers, then you’d like this novel. These books would also make a great series to binge watch!

At first I wasn’t too sure about this book. It started a little slower than I would have liked. However, after a couple of chapters it got so much better. I like how the author goes from present to the past. The story does flow well together and with each era, you don’t feel too lost going from the past to the present. The characters are very well developed and each is relatable in some way.

As an avid reader, I always give a book at least 50 pages before I consider stopping reading. The warning about the book being a LGBT thriller didn’t stop me. The story does move a bit slow in the beginning but it’s also been a while since I read a western themed book, so I figured I needed to read it. Story of Fenimore James running away to become an outlaw kept my attention. Setting out to find adventures turns in to a learning experience for Fenimore James.
The author did a wonderful job of world building and character development.

The young boy Fenimore James, the dreamer of his farming family can’t stop the dreams. Fenimore packs his belongings and heads out West in search of a new lifestyle. A lifestyle of an outlaw. He quickly realizes that life on the run is really not what he dreamed. Since Fenimore left home he has been having nightmares many nights. Many nights he saw a man in black standing over him. Fenimore though does end up saving more than one of his fellow gang members’ lives. Fenimore is well-read and uses what he has learned from the books to help him survive and try to solve the mystery murderer. One by one members of the gang are being murdered. This is the first book have read by this author and it was definitely an interesting read. Yet it was an amazing story. The story hooks you right from the start.

Phew what can I say about this book! It had me in a chokehold the entire time.

TW: domestic abuse, drug use, mention of miscarriage/infant loss

Nadija did an amazing job on this book. She takes us through Lynn’s horrific life. The book starts with Lynn winning a rather large sum of money through the lottery – a life changing event for someone who was barely financially surviving. She is slowly dying of cancer and trying to survive the daily abuse she endures. Follow her while she makes some life changing decisions, trying to find herself and make herself a new life after her winnings. While learning more about her husband and herself, Lynn faces the common trauma effects that one has after going through years of abuse and getting thenselves out. Definitely worth the read!

My second book by Nadija and would recommend it.

“Lottery of Secrets: A Psychological Thriller with a Shocking Twist” by Nadija Mujagic is a well-constructed thriller that keeps you on the edge throughout the story. The plot is intricate and engaging, which makes the readers eager to find out what happens next. The book follows the course of Lynn, who wins the lottery (no spoilers here, it happens early in the book) and the outcomes of her windfall. Throughout, Lynn strengthens and weakens connections with her family.

As the story progresses, the characters’ secrets and hidden agendas are revealed, leading to shocking revelations that change the course of their lives.

The author’s writing style is concise and straightforward, which makes the book an easy read. I read a lot of psychological thrillers, and was pleasantly surprised at the twist. Overall, “Lottery of Secrets: A Psychological Thriller with a Shocking Twist” is an excellent book that keeps readers hooked until the end.

I could see the setting in my mind’s eye as I read the story. The characters are well crafted and draw you into the plot. The stakes increase and leave you questioning the safety of all involved. When her friends turn out to be the prime suspects, Logan starts investigating the murder to find out who the true murderer is. But with endless motives , accusations and lies involved, it gets really tricky, and it is very difficult to guess who the murderer is.

This is book is so many things…historical fiction, romance, western, LGBT+, thriller, mystery…I feel like it has it all! And it’s not a small undertaking either…this is a big ole book. But don’t let that deter you from picking it up. Liverpool has built this fantastical world for her characters and she takes her time really getting into her characters and developing them and letting them figure out who they are and what they want. I thoroughly enjoyed this book WAAAYYYY more than I even anticipated it would. It did take me a little while to get into, but once I did, I had a hard time putting it down. It’s a great coming-of-age saga, but it’s also so much more. I really can’t recommend this book enough. Pick it up for yourself…just allow yourself time to really get into to it and appreciate it.

Lottery of Secrets by Nadija Mujagic is the first book in an intriguing new series. I am always up for a good thriller, so I happily jumped right in.
Imagine winning BIG in the lottery, but then find that instead of enjoying ‘the good life’, your world crumbles into a dangerous, paranoid mess. Well, that’s exactly what happen to Lynn- and we follow along in a race against time to unravel everything before it’s too late.
This is a psychological suspense, with drama, mystery, twisty details, paranoia, secrets, danger, and more. I did find the story intriguing, and as the first book in a series, I can see the potential yet to come. For most part it was an engrossing read. But I didn’t find it as psychologically twisty as I had anticipated. I really wanted to be on the edge of my seat, clamouring to find out what happens next- but that wasn’t the case here. It was definitely intriguing, and had some gripping, twisted moments- but I felt the story was much slower, a little more frustrating, and more predictable than I had expected.
There were some unexpected developments which kept me turning the pages to find out how it all played out- and I am interested to see what happens in the rest of the series as there are still some questions that need answering.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Nadija Mujagic!

Lottery of Secrets is fast paced dark tale full of deceit, betrayal, violence, drama, dark lies and secrets and so much more. It is as intriguing as it is intense, and the tension and suspense is palpable and have you questioning everything.
Nadija has done a good job of bringing together carefully woven threads that makes this a heart pounding psychological thriller. She cleverly guides the reader through a barrage of twists and turns that keep you on the edge right to the end as you try to work out what is going on.
Lynn is supposed to be living the dream but instead she is struggling and living a nightmare and no longer knows who to trust. She finds herself ensnared in a game of cat and mouse. She no longer knows what is real and what is not. Her a’hole of a Husband thinks he’s going to get her money. A stalker is obsessed with her, and she is fighting for her life in more than one way.
I wasn’t sure about the characters in the beginning. I wanted to shake some sense into the woman, and I wanted to snot the Husband, but I guess that is a sign of good writing to bring out so much emotion in the reader and the intrigue was enough to keep me glued to the pages. OMG by the time I got to the end; well, what can I say!
Fear, jealousy, paranoia, angst, anguish are just some of the things the author throws our way whilst following Lynn on her dark and twist path. There are some sensitive topics in this story, but it comes together nicely.
I am now eagerly awaiting the next book. Bring it on!

Another mystery/thriller installment of the Logan McKenna Series. I really enjoyed the way the story kept moving between a time when men were rum running off the coast of central Oregon. And to present day where a young woman is found dead in her family owned hotel. Finding out some family secrets along the way, the book kept my attention. The author as always does a great job of character and world building so well, you feel like you’ve been there. I have enjoyed all of the Logan McKenna Series that I’ve read so far and this one is just as good. I highly recommend this series to anyone that enjoyed a great mystery/ thriller.
