Lois did another knock out wonderful book! This is aimed for I would say tween years but even as an adult it was super cute and really easy to follow.
Gwendolyn is an aspiring journalist, well when she’s woken up abruptly she changes into what ever she is dreaming about. Well suprise! She’s woken up and she’s an ELK! Now Gwendolyn has to figure out how to shift back to herself, but also learn how to be what she shifts into, but as an elk in hunting season this could be a little dicey. This is a journey Gwendolyn has to learn how to adapt to this new form.

This story takes many characters who will intertwine with each other. We have Amber, she was adopted at 4 years old into a beautiful family. We have Chloe who is a seer, this story kind of goes back and forth between their present life and their past lives. The two strangers will meet and dates will intertwine with each other. As a prophecy that spans a millennia, how will they work together to make things work for the present and possibly fix what has happened.

We really enjoyed this book. Lucas is out all night on adventures and doesn’t come home until the sun comes up. So his family puts a spy collar on Lucas to see what he’s doing at night. As soon as Lucas gets home, he gets tucked into bed, and his human sister and mom take his collar to watch the video of what he is doing. It was absolutely adorable. We loved the puzzles at the end!

The intruders- Dex is a car salesman, he used to have a better job, but he walked away from that because he was gone from his family for too long. So he quit, got a local job, then something horrifying happens. His house is broken into, him, his wife, and two kids are kidnapped. These intruders seem to know everything about Dex’s life. His parents, their passing, his childhood best friend and his passing. They get Dex to spill his heart but it doesn’t seem to be enough. Dr H(the main kidnapper) wants to know everything and who is in charge. Dex makes a deal, his wife And children have blankets, pillows, and food and he will give them the information Dr H wants.
Dex and his family are able to escape thanks to Connor, but now they have to live life on the lam, they have to watch out for these groups that are kidnapping and torturing people. The silver eyed people are running for the government and it has to stop or this chaos will still continue on.
Really enjoying the authors notes at the end of each chapter because it gives you an insider of what they were thinking writing that chapter. I also enjoy that the very first chapter was the last, but now it’s not. So when you get to the end, re read the first chapter. This was such a fantastic read and so fast paced! I really enjoyed this and cannot wait to read more!

I knew very little about wine making, but this gives you a lesson about all the details small and big. Its based in the 1870’s when women were not respected for owning any sort of business. Julia is trying to save her vineyard after her husband ends up passing away. Griffin is a brit who moves to Portugal to chase a debt that is owed. He ends up moving next door to Julia to keep an eye on her. Little does he know, he will end up falling in love with her.

Thorfinn and the Witch’s Curse (The Forerunner Saga Book 1) by Jay Veloso Batista – Review By Tori Mitton

Thorfinn and the Witch's Curse (The Forerunner Series #1)Thorfinn and the Witch’s Curse by Jay Veloso Batista
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Thorfin and the witches curse. At the begining of the book it gives you a map that you can refer back to. As you will need it as you read the book. It also gives you a character table at the very end of the book which is helpful so you know who is who and what relationships they have and the ties they have to each land in the book. This tale is set in the 800’s Viking era. It makes you feel like you are right there with these characters. It has action, suspense, mystery, and magic all tangled into each other.
