Ruthless Heir (Mafia Elite Book 5) by Amy McKinley – Review by Tori Werkheiser

Ruthless Heir: An Enemies to Lovers Mafia Romance (Mafia Elite, #5)Ruthless Heir: An Enemies to Lovers Mafia Romance by Amy McKinley

Okay, this may be my new favorite book in this series. I absolutely adored this book and really loved how it started with two outsiders to the mafia family and we watch them integrate into the group. This book follows Luc and Summer. They first met at a bar and hook up then the next morning she learns he is her new boss. It gave me Meredith and Derek vibes from Grey’s Anatomy but mafia twist and I was hooked from the start. I already loved this world and the Chicago Mafia Families but watching them bring Luc in and the drama that unfolds and the way Summer and Luc slowly but authentically form a connection was beautiful. And of course the way the girls take in Summer as their own quickly and she shows she is already meant to belong in their world I love the girl tribe they have. Luc was made for Mafia’s life and he didn’t even know it. They both were perfect for each other and perfect to join the mafia family. This book has the perfect balance of drama, family, love, and suspense. It is everything you need in a good quick read.

The Killer Jack Mystery (The J.D. Pierson Case Files) by C.H. Sessums – Review by Tori Werkheiser

The Killer Jack Mystery (The J.D. Pierson Case Files)The Killer Jack Mystery by C.H. Sessums
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book follows Jenny as she tries to uncover the mystery revolving around a necklace her cousin is wearing that Jenny’s uncle claims is stolen and could get his daughter, Jenny’s cousin, in trouble. As Jenny tracks down her cousin she ends up realizing she is in for a bigger case than she realized as she now has to try to find the stolen jewelry and now a murderer. This book kept me on the edge of my seat and I read it in less than 5 hours. I was hooked immediately and there were just enough characters and possible suspects to keep me intrigued and questioning everyone without having too many people that it got confusing. This was a very well-done mystery with a satisfying twisty ending. Reading this book would be a fun way to spend a few hours of your day as you won’t be able to put it down once you start. Highly recommend. 4/5 stars

A Hundred Wishes (Band of Sisters) by Marianne Rice – Review by Tori Werkheiser

A Hundred Wishes (Band of Sisters)A Hundred Wishes by Marianne Rice
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was so good! It included some heavy topics that aren’t usually in romance books that I read but I appreciated the unique situation of Gina. I found her character to be hilarious and relatable immediately and I loved how she was a little feisty with Bryce especially when she first met him. And don’t even get me started on that hunky man! He was a winner from the start and had just the sweetest heart. I did kind of get disappointed in him when he was working a lot and not being his normal self and I was really proud of Gina for holding her own and being such a badass of a woman. I also appreciated that the fight between them lasted more than five seconds and was much more realistic to me in that sense. Overall this book was unique yet relatable and I enjoyed every second of it.

Savage Secrets (Mafia Elite, book 4) by Amy McKinley – Review by Tori Werkheiser

Savage Secrets (Mafia Elite, #4)Savage Secrets by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book follows Marco and Elena and is another Arranged Mafia Marriage romance. I blew through this book in one day! This book was packed with drama and excitement and the twist at the end OMG I was blown away. I did wish that there was more of a build-up and insight into the romance between Marco and Elena. You knew they were right for each other and had some history and angst but I wanted to fall in love with them and watch it unfold a little more but just like in the previous books from this series there was some good amount of spice and I truly love the world this author has created with these characters and I adore how they all intertwine in each book and I can keep watching new developments from previous book characters roll into this book along with the main characters of this. She does a really great job at incorporating old characters and continuing their story while also introducing a new story with Marco and Elena and I really love that. I look forward to reading book 5!
