There are adult themes and adult language as warned by the author.

Trickster’s Hunt by Carrie Whitethorne is an interesting story. This is my first by Carrie Whitethorne and I found it a great story. There were times that I was a bit confused but I continues to read on and I am glad I did. There is an element of Egyptian Mythology, personally I love that subject, that in interwoven into the plot. There is also three genies and if you do not know anything about genies they are real tricksters like the title of the book leads you to believe. Maia is the main character and she is nineteen but acts like she is much older. Will Maia capture your mind and heart as she does mine?

5-Stars

Trickster’s Hunt is the exciting and romantic first book in the Three Tricksters series. Maia is to participate in an eating contest when she runs into an amazing Adonis while receiving a massage that leads to life changing events. Three amazing men enter her life to protect her from a supernatural force. Past secrets are revealed and each person is not who they thought they were.

This was a fascinating and creative story that was easy to follow. The author did a magnificent job with character development and the various settings. Maia had an interesting appetite and I was amazed at how much food she was able to put away. She was an excellent lead female. I also love all the men in this novel. Amos, Silas, Rhett, and even Adam all had amazing personalities and were entertaining and protective of Maia. This was an excellent read and I highly recommend it. I cannot wait to read more in this series.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Trickster’s Hunt by Carrie Whitethorne is the first book in the Three Tricksters series. Maia is 19, smart, and mature for her age. When she is on a trip she is not out looking for men but she finds three. These are not three typical men and she is about to be introduced to the knowledge of Gods and djinns.
This is a descriptive book that put a clear picture in my mind. The story was interesting and I liked the characters. Maia is fun and up for a challenge. I also enjoyed the Egyptian mythology that was part of the story. I always like a book with a few historical references and this added it to the story. I look forward to where this series goes in future books.

I am a sucker for anything related to Egypt so this book grabbed my interest immediately. I kept picturing Rhett as Ardeth Bay and it was fantastic.
For the most part I really enjoyed this book and am absolutely looking forward to the other. Maia is supposed to be a 19 year old competitive eater but how she is written, she seems mid to late 20’s. Maybe that was because the drinking age in the UK is different than the US so that threw me off. The structure of the book was pretty heavily set around eating competitions and then that just kind of stopped. I get that with the intro of three sexy djinn into Maia’s life, things would be far from normal but it just seemed to me like she was the kind of woman who would let nothing and no one pull her from what she loves doing.

Trickster's Hunt (Three Tricksters #1)Trickster’s Hunt by Carrie Whitethorne

Trickster’s Hunt (Three Tricksters Book 1) by Carrie Whitethorne. This is the first book I’ve read by this author and it was quite enjoyable. Its the story of 19 year old Maia who is a competitive eater. She has won a week’s stay in London waiting on the next big contest. Maia has the wonderful ability to always be hungry and her metabolism lets her eat all she wants. She’s not looking for men but somehow 3 handsome men find her. Are they Genies? Silas & Amos have vowed to protect her but Rhett is so miserable who knows what he will do. They seem to think she’s in danger? There is also a cat that shows up at every turn named Lord Peregrine Proudfoot the Third. This is a story filled with Egyptian Mythology, Genies and a very strange cat. Will Maia survive the food eating competition or will she end up in more danger than she and her Genie friends can handle.

I am really glad I picked this book up. I haven’t read any other books by these authors but that is going to change. This book kept me interested from page one and I love that it was a RH. This book is a fantasy romance that includes some Egyptian Mythology and that was something I haven’t read about before. The main characters are what made this book a good one. I loved the sassy and sarcastic-ness of them and I couldn’t wait to see what was happening next in their lives. I am looking forward to reading the next books in this series and I would recommend it to a friend.

Wow what can I say but having discovered another new author and a new series I am in seventh heaven. I really found myself unable to put this book down. The author has a very refreshing writing style and characters. I love reading books like this.

I really found myself drawn to Maia. The whole plot to the story just grabbed me and kept me held. The trio of Amos, Silas and Rhett are just the icing on the cake. I really love books about djinn and add in Gods and Godesses and boy do you have a great read. I love that there was also a telepathic cat just more to add to the drama and goings on in the book. I really cannot wait to read more from this author and this series. I really want to see how the whole story progresses.

Trickster’s Hunt is my first book by Carrie Whitethorne but it certainly won’t be my last! It’s a phenomenal start to her Three Tricksters series! Right from the get-go I was hooked, I was so intrigued by this storyline that I ended up reading it in one sitting.

It was a welcome change that this storyline wasn’t as action-packed as other books in this genre, I honestly loved the flow of the storyline. The details, original storyline and chemistry between characters had me sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for answers to all of my questions.

Unfortunately for me this book ended in a cliffhanger so I will have to wait to continue this series. This is a book I would recommend to anyone looking for their next one of a kind read!

A great read about mysterious events. Maia is on her way to win an eating competition. Winning the semi final comes with a weeks stay at the hotel expenses free along with the cash prize. She stays inside her room until her friend Adam convinces her to go and explore. But when she does, she is plagued by a trio of attractive and mysterious men and a strange cat. Can she make it through the week?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn’t put down. Well developed characters like Maia stubborn but still vulnerable underneath or Adam as a goofy friend but also caring underneath. Great cast of supporting characters like the strong and silent Amos or the smart and cautious Rhett or the bold Silas.
I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like with theTrafalgar Square full of life and people noisy and crowded but still beauiful if you look closer. Or Hyde Park with its tall trees and sense of peace deep in the middle of the bustling city. Or the use of taste throughout with wonderful flavours described so vividly it’s as if you’re actually there. Or the scenes with the mythology later on in vibrant colours and wonderful detail beautiful but deadly and wonderfully written.
The use of suspense was written superbly, makin you want to read on to uncover the mystery about these men. The use of the first person narrative worked well to display Maia’s thoughts and feelings and when perspectives switched later on it was easy to follow with names in the chapter titles. . Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.

Trickster Hunt is the first book the Three Tricksters series by Carrie Whitethorne. This Paranormal romance was a good read that follows Mia, a competitive eater who is in London for finals. After some irrational things happen three mysterious guys show up. No matter where she is these guys tend to be there as well and Mia cannot figure out why she is so drawn to them, and so are Amos, Rhett, and Silas.
I really enjoyed reading this book, at first I had worried as I felt it went a little slow but by chapter three I was wanting to read more and more about Mia and find out about the men that were being drawn to her. I am excited to read the other books in this series and give the book 4 stars!!!

This is a full length novel. Just the beginning of this series. Adult content due to language and adult themes.

This is a super fun book to read. It contains three gorgeous, mysterious men and one 19 year old young lady. Who would think she could have such a following? Maia is a competitive eater and has won a week stay at a hotel in London. Now she has these three men following her. They told her, they were there for her protection. Now her journey has just begun. Everything is not as she would have thought.

Carrie Whitethorne has written a unique story. I love her characters and Maia has to be my favorite. Can’t believe she weighs so little and eats so much. That in itself made this story fun. Well, until things start happening. Her three protectors are strong and beautiful. The description of all three, put an amazing picture in your head. While this is a new author for me, I plan on reading more from her. I hope book two comes quickly! Hint, Hint.

Trickster’s Hunt by Carrie Whitethorne is the first book in the Three Tricksters series. It is a great Paranormal reverse harem book.
I found this to be different to most reverse harem books that I have read before. I loved the three genies and how they were all so different from each other. It really meant that you got a sense of each of their characters. I have to be honest I wasn’t overly blown away by Maia. I found myself getting quite annoyed with her at times.
However the author has created a great story which more than made up for that. It was interesting and was enough to keep you turning the pages. I am looking forward to seeing what is next for the series.

I have never read Carrie Whitethorne before this but I was captivated by the cover to Trickster’s Hunt and then the blurb sold me fully. I must say while things were a tad confusing at times to keep track of and as far as absorbing the new Egyptian mythology, this book was quite the read. I was hooked by the second or third chapter but truly invested right about the time that crazy cliffhanger drops so abruptly. I am trying to decide if I like this because normally I am not a fan of cliffhangers, but I loved the book. I enjoyed the RH/polyamorous notes and felt that Carrie Whitethorne did a fantastic job of writing it. The characters felt very much real to me and are what will bring me back for the next book in the series. I can’t wait for August so I can see what is to come next!

Trickster's Hunt (Three Tricksters #1)Trickster’s Hunt by Carrie Whitethorne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I give Trickster’s Hunt (Three Tricksters Book 1) by Carrie Whitethorne, 4 stars.

Maia enjoys her life as a professional eater. When she ends up winning a spot in the finals, she also gets a week complimentary stay at this fine hotel. Little does she know just how much it will change her life. She meets three sexy Egyptian men at three different times while staying there. She is drawn to them, but that is crazy, she can’t be drawn to three men, can she? Maybe it is her long ignored libido working overtime. But there are more to these men than she can imagine. They are also inexplicably drawn to her. When they find out that she is in danger, each one is drawn to protect her. But can they save her? And what is really going on?

I would label this a paranormal reverse harem series with action and suspense thrown in. Maia is unlike any character I have seen before and I love that! She is a wonderful character who shows her flaws along with her strong points. The story is also the likes of which I haven’t read before. There is plenty to keep you interested and some surprises along the way. Oh, and did I mention a cat that can speak telepathically? I cannot wait to see where the next book in the series takes us.

If you enjoy these types of books along the Egyptian mythology side of things, this book is for you.

Trickster's Hunt (Three Tricksters #1)Trickster’s Hunt by Carrie Whitethorne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Trickster’s Hunt is the first book in Carrie Whitethorne’s Three Tricksters series. It is an urban fantasy, which draws on Egyptian mythology.
Maia is a loveable and relatable main character. Earning her living as an eating competition contestant, Maia is always eating and on the lookout for food. I particularly like how the genies end up regularly providing her with meals and snacks!
There are parts of the book where there is plenty of action, and others that are more drawn out dialogue as the characters explain and discuss what is going on. Occasionally, the same scene is told twice from different perspectives, which was interesting once I’d gotten over the initial confusion!
It was nice reading something set in the UK – some of the scenes where Maia was out and about in London felt particularly vivid and familiar!
I was reading more for the fantasy than the romance, but it’s interesting how the romance was tied up in the magical side of things.
For me, this is a four-star book. I’d recommend it to fans of urban fantasy – the Egyptian influences add a bit of interest and it would particularly appeal if you like genies! Also, there’s plenty of food which gets a lot of attention. I have to say, I spent most of the time I was reading this snacking!

This is a story about an average girl named Maia who finds out that she’s not so average. She often gets gut reactions to people never realizing that these reactions are saving her life. After going to London for a competition, she meets three Djinn who swear to protect her. It seems crazy but after an attempt on her life, she has no choice to believe.

This book is a mixture of fantasy, Egyptian mythology and reverse harem. Although it’s not full blown reverse harem, I think the series will eventually end up there. Maia is highly attracted to all three Djinn. Who wouldn’t be, they are gorgeous. I had never read a book about Djinn and that’s what made me pick up the book in the first place. I enjoyed the addition of Egyptian mythology. Usually you find books about the Greeks so this was a refreshing change. I had never heard of the god that made an appearance in this book and I admit that I had to google him. Usually authors include the popular gods in their stories. It was good that Ms. Whitethorne included a lesser known deity because I learned something by reading her book.

In the beginning I was a little confused between each Djinn as they were talking but it improved as the book progressed. I also think the lead up was a little long seeing as the threat to Maia only appeared towards the end of the book. Seeing as this is book one in the series, I feel I have to warn you that it ends in a cliffhanger. I’m still giving this book four stars because the story was unique and interesting to read. I believe this series has potential to be really good. I’m looking forward to reading part two.

Trickster’s Hunt (Three Tricksters #1)
By Carrie Whitethorne
Rated 4 stars

This is a good interesting story. It starts with Maia who considers herself normal. She has this crazy job as a competitive eater. (I loved that). She randomly meets a few different guys who she is “hot” for but not much happens.

This is a slow moving story. I loved learning about Maia and her job. I got stuck on her being 19. She seemed much more than that age throughout the story. She seems very mild in attitude except for a couple times we Saw some fire come out of her. The three men she meet are lovely. I wish there was more commentary between them and maybe some snark to liven up their scenes. I did enjoy how they each had a specific role to play and how they stuck to it. I hope in future stories we will see more development of their characters as well as Maia’s.

What did I love about this? The story idea is original and creative. The characters are interesting and I think have a great future ahead. I would like to say the cat….but I think I like the djinn better. I was sad at the end but it probably makes book 2 more adventuresome….I see a rescue in her future.

Trickster’s Hunt (Three Tricksters Book 1) by Carrie Whitethorne is a good start to the series and the story along with the characters were fun and humorous, flighty and sassy, sarcastic and witty. I enjoyed it from start to finish, I mean who doesn’t like hot and sexy alpha men, not one but three. I enjoyed the twist of this modern day fairy tale where there is Egyptian mythology entwined, and djinn.

Maia is a young woman who is always hunger and makes her money entering eating competitions. When she wins a trip to the finals in London it means a big payday. But what happens when she is there is beyond her comprehension and changes her life forever. This paranormal reverse harem romance has magic and more and one crazy cat.

I’ve never read either of these authors before so wasn’t sure what to expect. The blurb pretty much spelled the book out, so I knew it was going to be a unique read. I read a lot of different things and this seemed to combine a few of the more unusual ones.

I’m not sure how these authors co-wrote the story – if they sat together in a room dictating to each other – or if they exchanged google docs and continued where the other left off – or if each had their own voice in a specific character, but the writing was seamless. Their styles meshed in such a way that it was a blended story.

I did not like the female protagonist. I found myself skimming through some of the more detailed parts because I was more interested in the general story than the nitty gritty annoying bits of her. The guys were interesting but let’s talk about the cat. “They” always say one should not work with kids or animals and I think that is true in this story. The cat (btw, I’m totally naming my next cat the same name) is one of my favorite cats I’ve ever read. So clever and witty and communicative.

This is the first book in a series so obviously it had to end the way it did to compel the reader to read the next book. I think the pace will pick up a little in the next one. I will be sticking with the series.

Trickster's Hunt (Three Tricksters #1)Trickster’s Hunt
By: Carrie Whitethorne
My Rating: 3 of 5 stars

Trickster’s Hunt (Three Tricksters #1) by Carrie Whitethorne was an okay read that had an interesting concept, and a unique plot.

My first read by this author, I went in with an open mine. There are so many unique things and elements in this book that kept me reading and made it enjoyable. I loved the cat, like I want one.. a talking one. But there are some things that made me fall out of this story and caused me to be distracted.

The plot was slow moving and I found there was a lot of emphasis on the MC’s job, and the competitive eating. It actually stalled the plot at times, and in truth I skipped a lot of that. As interesting as it was, it just took away from the main plot. The MC, was, okay, I’m hoping she develops more, in the books to come, but for a first introduction it was, so-so. I was actually thrown off by the opening, and the way she describes how “Normal” she was. It was a little over the top, and for me, didn’t quite do the trick.

Overall this wasn’t a bad read. I loved the unique plot, I can’t say it, because I don’t want to spoiler that wonder, but I can tell you it isn’t like anything you’ve read before. And that cliff hanger, way to leave a girl in suspense. So give this book a chance, it has potential, and I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Happy Reading

The story Trickster’s Hunt (Three Tricksters Book 1) by Carrie Whitethorne is a paranormal/fantasy romance book the I loved reading. It pulled me in from the very beginning and didn’t let me go until I had read the final page. It has magic, mystery, and genies. I loved reading about the main female character. She is independent and because of the past not looking for a man. That is when three find her. There is Silas, Rhett, and Amos. They show up and an attraction begins for each of them. They feel drawn to her and have sworn to protect her. She wants to know what they are protecting her from. They stay close by her side. Will the questions that arise be answered? What does the future hold for the four of them? Read this book to find out. I loved reading about the three genies that are drawn to the main female character. There is bantering that goes back and forth. The desire that is felt by all is strong and some scenes have the temperature in the room rising. This is a book that I would highly recommend reading. It is the first story in a series and I look forward to reading the next one.

Trickster’s Hunt (Three Tricksters Book 1) by Carrie Whitethorne is a paranormal romance with some unique quirks to the story line. Maia’s character is strong and stands firm in her beliefs and choices. She’s not your stereotypical female, anything but. Maia encounters a trio of men popping up in her life in the most unusual ways. One thing leads to another and it’s a suspenseful chain of events that soon ensue. The author adds a mix of mythology or historical attributes to the story to give it more depth, as well as, create intrigue to the characters. The trio of men (Silas, Rhett, and Amos) are each alpha men in their own rights, seeing them overlapping in this story was captivating.
