The Innovator (WaterFyre Rising, #3)The Innovator by Nadia Han
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I love a good enemies to friends story and this one did not disappoint. I really enjoyed Natalie and Grayson. The back and forth between the two really helped move the plot which I thought started out slow. I enjoy reading this author and would definitely recommend her books. I look forward to the next one!

I really enjoy this author. I actually enjoyed this book and found some of the topics in it refreshing. I get tired of the beautiful stories sometimes and appreciated how real this one was. Everyone chooses their destiny and path, what works for them as well as what they are capable of forgiving. That was something that even though I wasn’t a huge fan of Lauren, I appreciated the realness of this story.

I really enjoyed this. I wasn’t sure how I would feel since I don’t normally go for poetry books. I found some of the poems very cathartic and was able to feel them personally. I would recommend this for someone particularly who is inspired by music.

I really enjoy how this story continued. The characters are very well developed and the author’s style keeps you engaged. I really love the vampire genre and this one fits in but has a different enough feel to it. I liked that Lane got his own book for his perspective. I appreciate books like that told from a different point of view. I am intrigued for what happens next.

The Summer I Went CrazyThe Summer I Went Crazy by Laura Koerber
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a good book. I would be interested to read Coyote Summer to see what the story is like with magical elements. This kind of book is one that makes you uncomfortable and tense because it is a topic that is so real. I found myself getting angry at the situation because of the real life aspect of it and I couldn’t imagine this happening to me or people I knew in my youth. I thought the characters were relatable and you could feel the pressure and angst they were feeling. It definitely fits in the genre of its kind.

I enjoyed this book. I read the prequel to it so that was helpful. The name Jack for the female did throw me off a bit in the beginning. Nana Hawke was my favorite character. I love her feisty spirit and love a good family matriarch. I’m not usually a fan of mafia/mob stories but I appreciated the plot of this one.

I really enjoyed this second installment of The Bennetts series. The chemistry between Walt and Elyse was very good. I enjoyed his character and appreciated how he interacted with his sister. I loved the grump but secretly a teddy bear angle for Walt’s character. I think that is a relatable trait for many men. I can relate to that. It was a quick, enjoyable read and look forward to the next installment.

This was a nice story and a quick read. I thought the ending of the story was good but found myself a little disengaged throughout the book. I did not care for some of the characters in the story but that is just my personal preference. I did love the dog though. Anytime animals are infused in the story adds something for sure. Delilah was ok for me.

I have read several books by this author. I did enjoy this book and could connect with it. I am conflicted on how I would use it with the children that I work with. I feel like there wasn’t a clear resolution for the siblings that younger children can understand. This would be better for children that can infer decision making. Overall, it was a nice, relatable story.

The stories flowed very nicely together and none of them felt out of place. Merry Mix-Ups was my favorite in the collection. If you are into the spirit of Christmas- add this to your list!
