Special Agent Charli was a great 5 star read and book 6 in the Undercover FBI series.
This is a great romantic thriller and my first read from Mimi Barbour, she pulled me right in.

Charli was great, she had some sassiness to her. She was looking forward to a long vacation when Alicia shows up at her door begging for help. Alicia has witnessed a murder and now he’s coming for her. Charli is asked to go into witness protection to take care of Alicia and keep her safe.

Blake is quite the ladies man and when put in charge of Charli and Alicia he finds himself attracted to Charli. He knew just how to push Charli’s buttons. Charli found Blake very handsome and she felt some attraction, but there was also something about him that annoyed her.

These two played off each other, the bantering was great. Charli has some very big walls built up, can Blake break them down? Can they find the killer before its too late?

The secondary characters added a great element to the story. I loved Gramps, he was great and I had several lol moments with him. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was coming next. This was an action packed thriller and I can’t wait to read more from this author. It can be read as a stand alone.

This author is new ot me, and this is the fiirst book in this series that i picked up to read, however, they can be read as a standalone, so there is no loss of book for not reading the previous 5.
When you think FBI, you think intrigue and thrill. That is exactly what you get from this book. This book started off with a bang through a double barrel gun. That poor baby made my heart clench and it yanked at my heart strings so hard that I almost started to sob.

Enter Charli, a no-nonsense, tough as nails, take no crap FBI agent. She is all set for a much needed vacation vacation with Poppa John, her sassy, yet Lovable grandpa, when her plans are derails and she is called in to protect Alicia, a young girl who has witnessed a murder.

Blake is going to be her support, her coworker and undercover cop who has a love em and leave em philosophy, and with his adonis looks and charming attitude, it was an easy gig, but after spending time with Charli and Alici, he is finding that his past lifestyle, may no longer be his preferred lifestyle

I loved this book. It is fast paced, but not where you felt that you are left in the dust. The suspense and the romance are just enough to keep you going and turning the page. Highly recommended.

This is the first book I have read by this author and in I’m ecstatic I did!!! I was captivated from the start and this story kept me entertained throughout its entirety. I loved the chemistry between Charli and Blake. Oh how I wish I had a grandpa like Charli’s. There is plenty of action while these two are protecting a teenager named Alicia, who is troubled herself. I don’t want to give anything away but this book is a must read. There was so much emotion throughout this wonderfully told story.I haven’t read the other books in this series and I had no problem following what was going on, so you don’t need to have read the others, but after reading this I am definitely going to go read the others in this series. This book is that good that I am now a forever fan of this author!! I highly recommend reading this book.

This is a very good story! It drew me in from the beginning and didn’t let go. I loved the suspense, the thrill and the fun. While this has a bunch of characters the main ones take the stage. Charli is one kick butt agent! She impressed me numerous times throughout the story. She is very strong and a bit hard. Also the love she has for her Poppa John was something I could feel when she saw and talked to him. Blake is a womanizer. I really didn’t give him much credit especially after the airport scene. As the story moved forward he slowly crawled under my skin. By the end I was as enamored with him as the girls. The main comedic/relief was Poppa John. He made everyone look at themselves a bit different and has some good stories. He really helped pull this away from being too serious. The girls were just sweethearts. Lonely and alone they blossomed when they had someone love them.

This is not a first time author for me. But this is the first in this series and I really didn’t know what I was missing. Now I do and as this is the 6th book in the series i see i have others to read. Thanks for a fun, entertaining and easy to read story.

Special Agent Charli (Undercover FBI Book 6) by Mimi Barbour is the first book I’ve read by this author. It was fantastic.

I enjoyed the way the characters were set up. There is obviously something that has happened to “Charli” in the past and yet I didn’t feel slighted not knowing exactly what it was because of the way the story unfolded. There is no question as to who the good guys and the bad guys are in this story. In addition to the mystery of the story (nothing like a good witness protection story) I also loved the overall message of the story that EVERYONE is worthy to be loved. The younger characters really pulled at my heart strings and I hope they get their own story in the future. I bet they go on to do amazing things in this world.

The story moves along quickly, I was able to read it in one sitting and while it had some steamy parts, there weren’t so many that it made them gratuitous. The word count in the story is perfect. It was a great book to snuggle down with on a chilly Sunday afternoon (it was a beautiful sunny afternoon and I should have been outside, but the book was soooo good that I didn’t want to put it down.)

The dedication of the story and knowing that one of the characters is modeled after such an important person made me smile and wish I had such a relationship in my life.

I will begin “following” the author to see what other stories they have written. 5 stars for an enjoyable book.

Special Agent Charli (Undercover FBI Book 6) by Mimi Barbour is a wonderful story that I enjoyed reading. It is a mystery, drama, thriller with a little romance thrown in and just enough to keep you enthralled and wanting to know what comes next. I fell in love with the characters especially Charli’s grandfather who made me laugh and was based on Mimi’s own grandfather. I loved the banter and sarcasm between the characters which also had me laughing. There were equally moments when my heart bled for them as well and I just wanted to scoop them all up and bring them home. The story flowed well and was well paced and definitely engaging. This is one story that is well worth your time to read. I am looking forward to reading more from Ms Mimi.

I give Special Agent Charli (Undercover FBI Book 6) by Mimi Barbour, 5 stars.

Charli just got off a very stressful undercover assignment that came close to breaking her. She has been approved to take a month-long vacation to unwind and get herself back together. She is in no frame of mind to take on another case. But when a girl comes to her begging for help, she can’t say no. And when the girl needs to go into witness protection, she will only go if Agent Charli goes with her. Again Charli cannot say no to this girl, as much as she wants to. This leads her to Florida and the local police agent Blake Sebastian. Her cover is the fiance of this womanizing cop. She doesn’t need another man in her life. But how does he seem to charm his way into her life? And will they be able to keep this frightened girl safe?

This was an incredible book. I have not read this series before and had no idea what to expect. I can understand where Charli is at in the beginning of the book. She is mentally burned out. She needs a relaxing vacation. But at the same time, she cannot risk this girl’s life. Blake is also an engaging character. He is the stereotypical playboy, until he meets his match in Charli. The story is captivating – besides the possible romance between these two, there is plenty of suspense. There are multiple things going on in here, not just catching the bad guy and watching the romance try to bloom. I was on the edge of my seat until the end.

I absolutely loved this book and highly recommend it to those lovers of romantic suspense.

Five Stars

Special Agent Charli is the sixth book in the Undercover FBI series by Mimi Barbour. This is the first book I have read by Ms. Barbour, but I plan to go back and read the first five books in this series. This story had me hooked from the very first page. I couldn’t put it down and it kept me up well into the night, but it was definitely worth the loss of sleep.
FBI Agent Charli was looking forward to a vacation with her gramps, but when those plans go awry and she ends up taking care of a teenager in the witness protection program with a new partner. Things heat up with Blake as they try to solve the murder.
This book is filled with action, adventure, mystery and romance. It is in the top five reads I have read this year. If you are looking for a good mystery with romance thrown in, this is the book for you.

Let take a suspenseful story and throw in some crazy romance. While we try and stay a head.

Charli works for the FBI, and she is good at her job. But… She has just finished with a serious case. She needs a vacation and she is about to go. Just her and her grandfather, at their favorite spot. In comes the knock and the begging, crying and scared child.

Mimi Barbour has written this story and included some antidotes to bring the story full circle. Her characters are so real, and her explanations are frightening. While I read this in the middle of the night, it did not stop me from hearing every little noise. I love this story! The case has some true to life examples. That will keep you turning those pages. I will continue to seek more from this author.

This may be book six in a series, but it was a stand alone. Charli is in need of a break she never gets, because she’s needed by a teen who needs saving in more than one way. Between Charli, a couple teenagers, Blake the player, and Gramps, this odd group goes through some pretty intense moments. It’s nice how they all find what they have been missing in one another. While the love scenes didn’t really start my fire (just could have flowed better, or used better terms), the action, suspense, and story were really good. It was an enjoyable read.

Special Agent Charli by Mimi Barbour a four-star read that will intrigue and mesmerise you. This is the sixth book in the Undercover FBI agent series and they are all true stand-alone reads, I haven’t read the preceding books but will be going back to check them out. Special Agent Charli Madison is a great character, she was funny and honest and someone you would love to help solve crimes. Charli is only one upped by her gramps, who is amazing, so very very funny. The chemistry between Charli and Blake will make you sizzle. This was a great read and I can’t wait the rest of the series.
