Lost and Found
By: Valerie Davisson

I feel like every time I read a Logan McKenna Book, I swear that there is no way that Valerie Davisson could write a better book. Then there is a new release and it is better than the last one I read. This book is no exception.
In this story, Logan is mixed up with an accident on a crab boat. When a local fisherman is washed overboard and feared dead – Logan is determined to find out who did it. Especially after someone she knows is accused of being involved.
Logan is such a fantastic character and the people she surrounds herself with are such an addition to this book. I loved how in this book there was a sub plot that featured an illegal immigrant who finds himself in trouble. This looked at some real concerns for people who are living in our country. Sam in this book just really sweetened the story. The plot in this book moved so fast and featured so many twists and turns. Everytime I thought that it was all figured out another wrinkle would come into play. I read the last half of this book in one sitting because I just did not want to put it down – I had to know how it would end.
I definitely recommend picking up this story. It is so very good and really sucks you in. If you haven’t read the others I recommend reading those as well! You won’t be disappointed!

You know what I’ve enjoyed most about this series is we either broach a subject that many see as taboo and or something new and this time I was introduced to the world of crabbing , it’s hard work and it seems rather dangerous …..

Dead bodies seem to be piling up ( a little exaggeration) on this little coastal town and people are on edge and rightly so and one of Logan’s friends , Sam , is a prone suspect and she’s determined to prove him innocent but even she’s having a hard time because everything seems to point to him and she’s getting opposition as far as she goes and Al is not as it seems in this little town , this time it feel like Logan may have bitten off more than she can chew 🤷‍♀️

Logan never disappoints she always gets what she wants and more often than not that means she’s in the line of fire , she’s a good woman with a good heart ? I’ve really enjoyed my time with her and all she gets up to ❣️📚

Logan can’t seem to outrun trouble it always seems to find her …..

Logan heads to Oregon she just needs to breathe and clear her head a little bit instead she finds a body and she’s got to defend her friends , whom I might add are prime suspects 🙈 the police are distracted and more of the responsibility of proving their innocence falls on her….

Logan has her work cut out for her as the police have already decided who their killer is but she knows she’s right and one thing other than trouble finding her we know our girl is determined and I think her friends can be grateful for that trait 😉

Logan had me on the edge of my seat again and I expected nothing less if I’m honest 📚❣️

Logan and her cases are like aging red wine , it just gets better with time 😉 also each book deals with subject/s that many won’t touch as they’re seen as taboo and they’re dealt with in a honest yet empathetic manner which makes reader see things from a different view , we “ see” what people are going through and their very real struggles .

Logan and Ben have just bought their first home together and there’s a lot of TLC needed ( that can make or break a relationship 🤣🙈)Logan is also going to meet her sister for the first time but before they can even really start their sibling journey , a young woman is found dead in the pool of their family hotel and they set out to investigate what happened to her …..

Well o tell you what I walked away from resting this with a very strong reminder that secret’s never stay that way , they have a way of coming out wether in your life time or generations later and fond of the forefather are passed down that’s for sure ! Logan ,girl you’re a magnet for trouble , it always seems to find you and you always seem to walk away reasonably unscathed 🤷‍♀️😉 till next time Logan 😉

Lost and Found: A Logan McKenna Mystery Book 9 (Logan McKenna Series)Lost and Found: A Logan McKenna Mystery Book 9 by Valerie Davisson

Logan is back with her regular partners in life and new cast members, as well. Will she be able to figure out who is friend and who is foe before it’s too late? The new cool thing I learned a ton about in this addition to the series is crabbing! As the story starts, we are told there is a murder aboard a fishing boat. Will that prove to be the truth? As a second murder occurs, Logan and the small Oregon town she resides in are shaken, and even more so when Logan’s friend Sam is accused of being the murderer! While he swears innocence, the investigation finds the path they follow lead right to him. Logan and co jump in to find the truth of the matter and hopefully help her friend.

In addition to her friend being accused of, and looking good for, the murder, one of Logan’s sweet young students father goes missing. Her immigrant family is worried and in danger of what may happen to he and them.

Another outstanding offer in the world of Logan McKenna. I love that each part of the series offers new things to learn about, and in this one it’s the world of crabbing. As usual, Logan is a strong and capable female lead who cares about others and always wants to help. Also as usual, her intense focus tends to lead her to a point in which she is one of the people in danger herself. Quick, great read. This can be a standalone and enjoyed easily, but it is even better when read as the series.

Logan is at it once again in book 3! She just can’t seem to stay away from the murder mysteries! In this book her and her daughter are moving to California. But what happens when there is a fight for the property Lot 429? A gorgeous stretch of coastal property with a Sea Otter rescue center. The center needs help, but will Logan be able to not only save her daughter but bring yet another murderer to justice all while trying to help said center?! A dangerous coastal storm is on it’s way and it’s growing more and more violent as she races to find her daughter and a baby sea otter they were caring for. Finding a student murdered and another victim barely alive, Logan’s worst fears are coming to life. Can she enlist the help of friends and figure out this mystery before more lives are lost? She’s stopped killers before, but now her daughter’s life is on the line! Man oh man! What a great book! One of my favorites so far! I love the little otter twist to the story. You learn so much with these books and they are so fun and of course mysterious!! I can’t wait to read the rest to the set!!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lost and Found is the latest book in the Logan McKenna Mystery Series and I can’t get enough! I hope it’s not the last!! This WHOLE series has been amazing! Each book grips you into its pages and has you glued to them and your seat until you finish them all!! You COULD read them as standalones, but just don’t! Just read them all and in order! I read the 8th one first and I couldn’t wait to get into the others. So trust me! Read them ALL!! You will not regret it! Now to this wonderful book!! Logan is once again caught in the middle of an investigation of not one, but two murders. Sam’s friend is accused of the second murder, but he swears that he is innocent. Evidence that incriminates him says otherwise though and he’s arrested. Sam asks Logan for help. Logan once again puts herself in danger to help protect and prove innocent, the people she cares about. Things get a bit more complicated with a missing person and no one is at all as they seem!!! The more she learns ,the more confused she becomes. With a target on her back once again, she must find the real killer! Many twists and turns in this book just like the others in the series. I loved learning about the crab fishing in this book! Each book has something that is so cool to learn about. I don’t’ know which one is my favorite!!

Boy oh boy, does this series just hook you right away and keep you reeling in more and more with each new book!! This is book 7 in the Logan McKenna series and let me tell you that you can’t go wrong with any of them! They are so great. You could read them all as standalones, but I really really suggest that you just read them all. You will not regret it and I personally think that it adds to the world that the author has cast for us all. Poor Logan is defiantly a magnet for all kinds of trouble. With each new book she faces more and more mystery and danger. In this one, she gets away to Oregon for a little while and starts a private school consulting job, but of course she trips over a dead body and it thrown into yet another murder mystery! And yet again she finds herself investigating to prove who the killer is and who it isn’t! Trying to save her friends, once again she puts herself at risk to catch who the real killer is. Just like the other books, this one has some twists. I love reading a book where I don’t know who the killer is right away. I can normally spot it right away with every movie I see. With these books I love that I can’t!! I can’t wait to read finish to this set! It’s coming to soon, but I still can’t wait!

Lies That Bind (A Logan McKenna Mystery Book 6)Lies That Bind by Valerie Davisson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the sixth book to the Logan McKenna series and let me tell you that these books just get better and better. You follow Logan throughout many ups and downs in her life. You get a glimpse of quite a few things along the way too! Logan just seems to be followed by murder mysteries! In this book Logan and Ben have bought a fixer upper (just like her last place) on the Oregon Coast. It’s so neat because this home was owned by a family since the prohibition days!! So many hidden treasures and secrets to be found! Things being in surface after someone is found dead in the Collins Hotel pool. Of course, poor Logan finds herself immersed into yet another mystery. Was this accident or murder?!?! She again finds herself in danger, but things are strange. Maybe she’s cursed! Never a dull moment as she investigates the death, meets her new half-sister, and deals with the house with Ben!! And all at once! Whew! Craziness! You CAN read all the books to this set (so far) as standalones, BUT I really suggest that you just read them all in order! I read the 8th one first and it didn’t hurt, but you will miss the natural flow of the books and all the growth throughout for each of the the wonderful characters. I can’t wait to see what Logan will be up to in the next few books. I’m a little sad that I’m getting close to the end of the series 🙁

Safe Harbor is book 5 to the Logan McKenna series. You could read it as a standalone, but I would personally suggest that you just read them all! They are so good and you won’t want to put them down!! The series gets better and better with every book and I am not at all ashamed to say that I have lost quite a bit of sleep over this series and I would do it all over again!! Grab these books!!!! Once again Logan is dragged into a homicide mystery. This woman just can’t stay away from trouble! Finally on a vacation with her family and Ben, she looks forward to seeing Oregon. So much fun to be had during their summer trip. Maybe?? Visiting an aquarium, ocean walks, a boat fishing charter, and even tickets for a classical concert for her and Ben!! But now she’s a suspect! So of course she is trust back into the life of investigator. Digging into another murder she has to find the killer before she goes down for the crime herself!! This author has hooked me from book one, but man let me tell you that so far they are all so great!!!! You have to read this series!!

When I say that this series is just getting better and better with each book, you just need to take my word for it. But also read this set!!!!! You CAN read them all as standalone, but please just read them all! You will not regret it! Logan has a bad habit of getting stuck in the middle of murders, but she also has a pretty good track record with unearthing the killers. This time she’s so close to the killer that it’s crazy scary. Determined to find the truth Logan yet again dives into the mystery. The police investigation stalls, but that never stopped Logan before and it won’t now. Not knowing she holds the clue to it all, she is sucked into the killers world once again. Can she make it out alive again or will this be the one killer that makes her life vanish! The author has spun yet another wonderful suspense thriller murder mystery! I was on the edge of my seat even more and I can’t wait to dive into the nest book to the series!! Grab this whole set!! You will love them!! Danger, suspense, abuse, family and friends, intrigue, and of course murder!!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Valerie has done it again!! Another gripping mystery thriller. Now you don’t HAVE to read the others in the series, in fact I read the 8th book before an of the others. The author is wonderful at sneaking in previous information to keep you caught up. BUT let me tell you that if you don’t read the other books in the series you are MISSING OUT!!!! I have loved them all so far and you will too. In this book Logan is visiting Portland, a small vacation with her new boyfriend and to do a little recon on a school and it’s program that lines up with her own new career. She’s loving the city, the sights, and of course all the wonderful food! But then a horrible explosion destroys a food truck near her hotel and she knows the owner who was killed in the blaze. Of course Logan’s new friend and a Vietnam vet are the top suspects, but she knows better. Not knowing if it was an accident or done on purpose, Logan starts digging into the mystery. Without knowing who to trust she dives in to intestate all while trying to deal with her own personal life, which is also having some issues of it’s own. Secrets and lies unravel and while bringing everything to the surface her own life is once again in the cross fire of the real killer. I’m not going to give anything away, but boy oh boy does this story get good!! I love a great mystery!!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a gripping mystery crime thriller with lots of action and adventure!! This set of books had me not wanting to sleep so I could finish them! I, of course had to sleep, so it took me longer than I even wanted, but I was not disappointed at all!! The author weaves these stories so well. I could easily see these as movies! With this first book the author paints you a picture of a local arts festival that is based around glass blowing demonstrations. You are placed into their world of art and music. But then a young glassblower is brutally murdered at the festival before hours. Logan has lost so much. Her husband, the company they built together, her music, and probably her job that she really came to enjoy. Having the summer “off” because she’s a teacher, a couple friends invite her to the festival to help with their booth. She of course is excited to help and to make a little income while waiting to see her fait with the schoolboard. Her friend Thomas is accused of the murder and Logan isn’t convinced. He refuses to defend himself and Logan doesn’t understand why. She starts to look into the glassblowers and everyone connected to them. There is more to this murder and with a slam-dunk suspect the detective isn’t looking elsewhere. Logan digs into secrets while diving into the world of glassblowing. The real killer becomes more dangerous and Logan must find out who it is before it’s to late for her friend, but also herself! With killer now after her, can she find the proof needed to free her friend before she herself is killed? Such a great book!! I didn’t see a few things coming and it was so wonderful! I love it when I can’t guess who the killer is right away. I can’t wait to finish the whole set!!

Logan hasn’t been in a holiday in a long time and heading to Oregon with Ben is just what they need.

Logan and Ben seem to be having a good time and life seems “ normal “ but death seems to find Logan wherever she is , she’s like a magnet for it 🙈 this time she’s not only trying to investigate the homicide but now she’s a suspect 🤷‍♀️🙈

The worst things about our past is sometimes we have to face it and Logan finds herself in a predicament , a decision has to be made but it’ll effect not only her but others as well …..

I was lucky enough to have read the previous books but for those that haven’t , it’s written so well that you don’t feel lost but as I said I read them all so I say go for it 🥰📚

Again , I enjoyed every page and again I’m looking forward to the next instalment, what can I say if you’re good then you’re good 😉

Lost and Found is Book Nine in the Logan McKenna Mystery Series. It is a crime thriller with action, suspense, mystery, intrigue, murder, danger, lies, and drama. Logan is on another adventure that takes her into the world of commercial crabbing. When a dead body turns up Logan sets out to find out what happened. As she delves into the murder she discovers a tangled web of secrets, lies and deceit that slowly turns deadly. I love the character of Logan because she is smart, feisty, determined, and courageous. When the stakes get high, she delves in deeper and does not give up. The book takes some twists and turns that make it impossible to put down. Another great book in this series that kept me reading until the end to find out what happened next.

Vanishing Day (Logan McKenna Series Book 4) by Valerie Davisson – Review by Heidi Sturgess

I’ve enjoyed this series so far but I must be honest this one has been my favourite so far !

So Logan’s new neighbour and her daughter are definitely hiding and or running from someone or something and she’s concerned for them ….

Lori was married to a nasty , narcissistic, abusive bully but she’s on the run and she’s got her daughter with her but she also has something to hold over her husband and he knows it and he’ll do anything to get his hands on it and he wants his daughter things escalate but lucky for Lori and her little girl they have Logan on their side and she’s a tough cookie our girl 😉 even in the face of danger

This was really a good read , I was in the edge of my seat quite a few times and I appreciate that the author dealt with the subject of domestic abuse in an honest yet sensitive way 🥰

Looking forward to the next instalment ❣️📚

Lost and Found is the 9th book in the Logan McKenna series, but it can be read as a stand alone. Logan always finds herself in the middle of mysterious criminal situations. She really should be an investigator, but she is a musician, teacher and tutor, as well as a business owner of a musical school. Her husband Ben, and her friend Sam overlap into most of the stories. They are good supporting characters, but there is enough detail in this story so you don’t feel like you are lacking. Logan’s friends are fishermen, and its their busy season. This year is a little rougher, with several deaths, missing persons, and suspected murders. Logan believes the wrong man was arrested for murder and spends her free time investigating and trying to clear his name. This was a good big, keeping me engaged ’til the very end.

Logan McKenna has gone and done it again. This time while volunteering at the Cascades Raptor Center out in Oregon things start getting weird. Logan loves it there the peaceful atmosphere, the feeling of usefulness when it comes to helping with the Raptors. Then one morning while she and her friend Jean are supposed to receive a private tour of the Raptor Center and visit a Raptor that Logan help begin to rehabilitate they discover the Vet dead in one of the work rooms. To make matters worse the Raptor is dead in the same room. So begins Logan’s quest to find out what really happened to Evka (the vet) and the raptor which Logan and Evka worked so hard to try and save. Another page turner where you think you know who did it but do you really?

It seems as if trouble follows Logan McKenna around wherever she goes. While visiting the Oregon coast to check in with the school that she’s partnering with, she finds a dead body. Another one. It seems as though Logan attracts all the dead bodies. Then to make matters worse, the police’s number one suspect is someone from the school. Logan is set to prove that their friend could not have committed the crime no matter what evidence they “tie to him”. In another can’t put down book, Logan is racing against time to try and figure out what exactly happened and who did it.

Logan McKenna has become my favorite main character in a series. I am always anxiously awaiting a new story. Trouble seems to follow her no matter where she goes. In this case she is headed to Oregon for a consulting job. However, as always, she stumbles upon a body. Once again, she has to help with the investigation to prove who is at fault.
I love how well written of a mystery each and every one of the books are in this series. Each book can be read alone, however, I definitely think that these would miss something if you did not read each one. I definitely recommend picking it up!

This is the sixth Logan McKenna Book and I really love this series. Logan is a fantastic main character who is so well developed and who continues to grow and evolve as the series continues. Once again, Logan has found herself in the middle of an investigation. But all this is in addition to fixing up her new house and meeting a half sister.
Valerie Davisson does not disappoint in this book and it contains all the things I have grown to love in her books. From the fantastic characters, to a fast paced plot this book really does have it all. In addition, it features the descriptive writing I love. She does a fantastic job of making you feel as if you are right there with Logan and her descriptions make you really able to visualize where she is. I definitely recommend this book and the whole series!

Good twisty story! I enjoyed this one because it doesn’t hide too much but still is intriguing and kept me turning pages to find out exactly how everything went down. The author does an excellent job telling this one. It is told from different characters POV so its not all about Logan.

I really liked the content in here. Crabbing and boating is interesting to me and the author does a wonderful job keeping my interest. I feel this is the best in the series and can be read as a stand alone.

What has Logan gotten herself into this time. A short family trip to the Oregon coast has gone terribly wrong, and Logan is once again in the middle of it. Spending time with her family is exactly what Logan and her family need, a week away at a friend’s cabin. While they are vacationing, a murder occurs and in true Logan style she is now a part of the investigation. Another wonderful murder mystery that keeps you on the edge of your seat right to the very end.

I have truly sat and tried to figure out what to say about this story. I have read both stories. this book touched me so much. It’s really an emotional story. They both have tremendous emotional issues to deal with. Watching their emotional relationship develop was beautiful yet painful because her adoptive parents were supportive, yet not. There are so many issues in the story. It touches your heart and you want to root for them because they go through so much. You just watch them work through it and though Annie seems immature, she is a strong woman. She is just young and has a big trauma. Cal, however, is older and is dealing with a large loss. It’s a beautiful story that I would recommend. I’m in awe of both stories.
