Lies That Bind: A Logan McKenna Mystery Book 6 (Logan McKenna Series)

I seem to stick to the same genre once I have found one I like whether it be books or music, I know what I like and have a hard time trying something out of my norm. This book is definitely out of my norm and I throughly enjoyed it.

It was a little hard for me to keep up sometimes since I was not caught up on the series but it ended up making sense to me in the end.

The murder of Charlie Collins was a fascinating mystery for me. Something bugged the back of my brain until all of the information was revealed. Though I was unable to put it all together I was quite close.

I definitely need to go back and read the earlier books and then this one again to see if it’s different with the full history.

Definitely recommend reading the book and series.

Safe Harbor is Book five in the Logan Mckenna Mystery Series. It is a crime thriller packed with action, mystery, intrigue, loss, angst, and drama. Although this book can be read as a standalone, I do recommend reading previous books in the series to get Logan’s backstory. This time around Logan’s life is going well and she feels content. She goes on vacation with her family to the coast of Oregon and they are having a peaceful, much deserved vacation when a murder takes place in the small community. Suddenly Logan is confronted with her past after becoming the prime suspect in a murder investigation. Not only must Logan try to prove her innocence, but she is faced with having to make a difficult decision. This was yet another fantastic book in this series with great characters and an intriguing storyline. The descriptions of the Oregon coast were vivid and made me feel as though I was there with Logan and her family. Looking forward to the next book!

Vanishing Day is Book Four in the Logan McKenna Mystery Series. It is a crime thriller with mystery, action, drama, suspense, and intrigue. Although this book could be read as a standalone, I do recommend that previous books in the series be read first in order to know more about Logan and her backstory. This book will leave you on the edge of your seat as Logan is once again facing danger as she tries to help her new neighbor after she was viciously attacked and left for dead. The three-year-old daughter of the young woman was the sole witness to the attack, but it leaves little for the local police to go on. Logan steps in to help the woman and her young daughter but quickly realizes the woman is not who she says she is, and this puts her life in danger, along with that of the woman and her daughter. I love this series and the character of Logan. She is smart, feisty, strong, courageous and determined. This book takes some twists and turns that will have you reading until the end. Looking forward to the next book in this amazing series!

This was such an amazing book and an incredible addition to the series! I have enjoyed each of the books I’ve read by this author, but this may be my favorite so far. While it started a little slower than the others, it more than makes up for it with the thrilling mysteries that follow. Logan is looking forward to meeting her half-sister and enjoying her life…until a murder intervenes. Will her half-sister be able to assist with investigating in the way we know Logan can, or will she stand in the way? I could not figure out what was happening as I was reading and just when I thought I had, the author threw another twist in the mix. I highly recommend picking this book up and getting lost in Logan’s world filled to the brim with lies, drama, murder, and more!

Crime stories are some of my favorites because they always have me on my toes and needing to know what happens next, and that’s exactly what this read did! Secrets, murder..what else do you need? Once again, Valerie has done it again! I have not found a book by Valerie that I haven’t enjoyed…. especially when it comes to Logan McKenna and her adventures! All Logan wanted to do was enjoy a nice, peaceful and quiet family vacation on the Oregon coast with her boyfriend, daughter, son-in-law and grandson. Everything seemed to be going well with her family vacation and of course something always has to come along. Logan McKenna finds herself being drawn to solve another murder after a captain of an excursion is found murdered! There were so many suspects and then there was one unexpected one… Logan! Can Logan prove her innocence, can she prove that the killer hijacked her phone? This is not how Logan expected her family vacation to go, but then again, it seems like murder and Logan go hand in hand! Pick up a copy of this book and get lost reading about Logan McKenna and her murder solving adventure!

This is the sixth book in the Logan McKenna Series and each book is getting better and better than the one before it! Valerie Davisson has such a knack and vision for her stories and characters. I have found that there is never a dull moment, especially when it comes to Logan. Valerie has a way of describing everything in such detail that it makes you feel like you were right next to Logan yourself. In this book we find that Logan is expecting happy times ahead, her and Ben have bought a house that needs quite a bit of tlc on the Oregon coast. Between working on their new house and meeting her half-sister, Olivia, Logan thought she had her hands full, but little did she know that her plate was going to become even fuller. Logan has found herself in the midst of another murder, and of course she is going to be investigating……the biggest kicker is that Logan is juggling the murder, house and meeting her sister for the first time, all at once! Will Logan and Olivia get along, does the house that Ben and Logan are working get finished, is the murder solved just in time? This is the fourth book in this series, and I have read all the books in this series. Let’s just say that these books just keep getting better and better! Valerie has a way of intertwining action, suspense and mystery all while developing a great story line. To me, this is a well-developed story that has wonderful and not so wonderful characters that bring the story to life. Just like the previous books, I was pulled into this story right from the beginning and was entertained to the end. Logan is back in another investigation and just like all the other times before…. it’s a doozy! This time she finds that her friend isn’t who she says she is…. but it’s not for the reason that Logan thinks! As her new neighbor clings to life in the hospital, Logan is trying to draw out the killer. Logan finds that the more she digs to find the truth and solve the crime that is at hand, the more she realizes that she may not be able to escape the situation that is at hand! You definitely don’t want to miss Logan in another suspenseful investigation looking for a killer. Logan has grown to be one of my favorite characters. She has a way of showing her strength, determination and nothing is going to stop her from getting what she wants! This is a very entertaining book, as well as the other books in the series. This book was a trip and a half. It did start fairly slow for me, but then about halfway through, it picked up. It is so full of drama and action, and I found myself falling in love with Jasmine’s character development as well as her friendship with Blake. I’ll definitely be waiting for the next book, cause I gotta know what happens next!

This is book #4. I could not put this book down. It had me on pins and needles all the way through the book. There is a part in the book that I didn’t expect to be so descriptive because the writer does not really do that, but its towards the end of the book. It gave me mixed emotions all the way through. I laughed, cried, worried, laughed some more and cried some more. I can not stress this enough, You need to read the series from the start of book 1 til book 7. While I did enjoy each book on their own, I feel like I wouldn’t be so torn about Logan McKenna and her need to be so nosy. Mostly because in this one, she was put into a very bad situation and she had to fight for survival….I promise you each book brings you closer to Logan McKenna and how she is so helpful to those who ask ( or don’t ask) for her help.

Logan McKenna is back…..building her life with Ben in Oregon and finding out she has a half sister that she did not know about. When an accident or was it murder occurs at a family area….who gets involved? Logan….and the pieces fall going back years of a feud and flashbacks of the past….and a long ago conflict that leads to murder and a suspect who is from the other family…will Logan be able to fit all the pieces together?

Safe Harbor is Book 5 in the Logan McKenna Series and I am really enjoying this series as I read each book, I have to admit so far this is my favorite. I love that the author gives a read who loves crime thrillers, like myself, twists and turns with drama and suspense that had me until the end. Already looking forward to reading the next book…..I highly recommend reading this series. It is very good!

Logan is finally able to take a well deserved time away vacations with her family and what happens when trying to enjoy time away….. not only one death but two!! Trying to figure out who is responsible, Logan also has to prove her innocence along the way. Will Logan be able to figure out this murder puzzle and prove she is not guilty of the crimes? Definitely read and find out!!

I need to stop saying that this is my favorite book in this series because every time I read the next one its just as good as all the rest. This is like the past came and bite Logan, and now she has to get to the bottom of everything in order to sort it all out. This book was filled with suspense, drama, lies, and an amazing female role that is string, intelligent, independent, and all-around amazing women. The twists and turns really make it hard to pout down again and I loved every minute of it.

What another incredible story to this series. I like the aspect that every book Logan some type of problem that she needs to solve, and she doesn’t stop till she gets the answers. Every book has some type of crime involved in it. Once again Logan finds herself trying to solve a crime and seems to get her into trouble. It was filled with suspense, crime, murder, twists and turns that kept me in the edge of me seat again. it was hard to really out this one down. I think out of the books I have read this one was my favorite even thou they are all different in their own ways. The plot of this book really kept you wanting to know what was going to happen next. The character development was great, and we got to look into Logans life a little bit more. The visualization this book created for the settings made me feel like i was right there with them in the story. Highly recommend this book.

Intriguing crime thriller, Vanishing Day is Book 4 in the Logan McKenna Series. I continue to enjoy this series and what Logan McKenna has to deal with next. A web of secrets in this story with intrigue and crime that leads to a beaten woman, Lori, and her daughter trying to run and hide far away. When the little girl ends up at Logan’s home…..and finding the little girl’s mom horribly hurt by the hands of an unknown assailant. Logan is finding out her neighbor, Lori is not whom she is truly is, Logan tries to fit all the pieces together and bring Lori’s assault to justice. Will Logan and the detectives find out the truth in the end?

Read and find out! This is a very good story and I cannot wait to read more from this author!

This was another great read of Logan, and her suspenseful intriguing seems to always be where the action happens series. This time thou the book hit me a little too hard I think, as someone who has been in the situation as her neighbour with spousal abuse it took me a little bit longer to read then I hoped for. the information on the psychology and mental and how hard these situations can be very true, and I had fond myself putting this book down quite a bit. Getting out of that type of situation is hard and I loved how Logan is so helpful to Lori because so many times people just urn and walk away. The love Logan had for Lori and her daughter was very heart warming. This book was very well written and the way the characters are so well developed in this one was great. This book did keep my attention thou and held me till the end. I can’t wait to read the next one.

I absolutely love how this author makes these books that you could read them as stand alone and not have to read them in order. Even thou there are probably parts that would be clearer if reading the books before, but you won’t feel too lost doing so. This was another great book with Logan and her challenges of being involved in murder and crime. This book really made a great informative story with sea otters that I found very enjoyable. I was hooked right from the beginning just like the others and couldn’t get enough of these stories. Logan is a strong willed, smart, string, courageous women. This book was filled with suspense, mystery, drama, secrets and so much more, that it kept me intrigued the whole time. I felt like I was constantly on the edge of my seat reading this. Really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to drive into the next one.

This was a very suspenseful murder mystery that I really enjoyed reading. This story had to from the beginning, and it really was enjoyable to know what was going to happen throughout the book. This book I did feel was missing something thou, I really like how this strong-willed woman takes a strong lead in the story. Logan can be a really related character and even with normal things like glassblowing was very interesting. Logan is trying to pick her life up from what happened with her husband and putting it all together that things all of a sudden feel like they might just get worse. But with her determination and never-ending investigation this book really had some twists and turns and was very entertaining to read. great book for a first book in the series I do hope I learn more about Logan in the next books.

Valerie Davisson delivers another great Logan McKenna thriller. Back in Oregon at The New School, Logan discovers a dead body. This woman keeps finding herself in the middle of the flames! This book has the same believable, realistic, perfectly imperfect characters from the previous books and you can’t help but feel connected to them. The Oregon forest comes to life with the vivid world building Davisson brings to the table. I could almost smell the pine needles and hear the owl calling. Whisper Creek was full of the same twists and turns I have come to expect from Valerie Davisson, and I absolutely love it! This book kept me second-guessing myself about who I thought the murderer was. I can’t wait to read more!

This is book 6 in the Logan McKenna series. You can read any of them as a stand alone book, but I recommend reading them all in order. You get the best experience that way, I believe. I’ve really enjoyed following along with Logan and her journey in life. I feel like I’ve gotten to know her over these past six books. This book does start a little slow inn my opinion, but having read all of the previous books in the series, I knew it wouldn’t continue that way. The story jumps far within different time periods. It does so gracefully and with ease.

This is the 5th book in the Logan McKenna series and they never stop being interesting. These books have you on the edge of your seat and you want to keep reading. Logan takes a vacation for the first time in years, but cannot help but to get involved in a mystery.

Logan McKenna is back!! Devil’s Claw is book 3 in this series and did not disappoint. Murder, intrigue and greed this gripping thriller was very enjoyable. This author really has a hold on me as I read each book and I am really liking the Logan McKenna series.

Logan and her daughter are back home from a trip to Africa and were able to help rescue a sea otter pup. When many hands lay claim on land that the Sea Otter House is built and the greed to this leads to murder of a volunteer. Who would want to murder one of Logan’s students and volunteer to that extent feeling like they lay claim on this land. The greed and suspense….will Logan be able to find out who is responsible for this murderous act?

Murder, mystery, secrets, intrigue and drama….Forest Park is book 2 in The Logan McKenna Series. This was a very good story that kept me engaged at the edge of my seat, trying to figure who “who done it”… I am really enjoying this series so far.

Logan is enjoying new found interest and heads out of town to Portland Oregon to have some time away. With new found friendship develops…..an explosion happens and Logan finds out that the woman whom passed due to this accident, she knows the victim. Fingers are pointing in all directions that this is murder and all eyes are on Logan’s new friend, Thanh. Will Logan be able to find out who was truly responsible for this act before it is to late…

This is a very good mystery and always looking forward to more of Logan McKenna!

Secrets, lies, murder with twists and turns along the way! Shattered is Book 1 in The Logan McKenna Series and this is the first book I have read by this author. I thought this book was very good, engaging crime thriller as I try to piece together a murder mystery and love to find out the “who done it”.

Logan McKenna is trying to move on her life after losing her husband two years prior and the aftermath. Picking up a job as a substitute teacher, Logan helps students learn who end up doing well in test, but the there are other teachers who accuse Logan of students and cheating. Taking a break in teaching and these horrible accusations, Logan decides to help at a local festival with her friends, unfortunately there is a murder at the glass blowing booth and Logan’s best friend, Thomas is accused of this crime. Will Logan be able to piece together and find out who the true murderer is before it is to late?

Read and find out! I love the female lead in this series and I am looking forward to reading more!

This is the seventh book in the series. You don’t have to read the previous books to enjoy this one, but it will give you more background on the characters if you do.

With this story, I feel like I could have read the prologue, and then skipped all the way to chapter nine because the previous chapters felt like they were dragging on a bit.

Once the story picked up it was great! Descriptive wording. Superb character development. Awesome twists and turns.

Overall, an enjoyable read.

This is another fantastic Logan Mckenna Crime novel by Valerie Davisson. Logan Mckenna has become one of my most favorite characters in a crime novel as of late. In this novel, she finds herself in the middle of another situation along the coast of Oregon.
She is traveling with her boyfriend, daughter and her daughter’s family. They are there to whale watch and maybe get a little fishing in. But per usual, murder seems to happen where Logan is and once again she finds herself helping with the investigation.
Once again, one of my favorite parts of this Logan Mckenna novel is the side characters. Those characters we meet who are part of the investigation in some way shape or form. The author always puts an impeccable amount of detail into these characters and makes them such an integral part of the story.
This is yet another Valerie Davisson Novel that I did not want to put down. It contains her usual wonderful characters and a plot that has so much detail that it is hard to walk away from. I definitely recommend it and I cannot wait for the next Logan Mckenna novel!

Whisper Creek (Logan McKenna Mystery Book 7) by Valerie Davisson

Whisper Creek is the seventh book in the Logan McKenna Mystery Series and is a Crime/ Thriller that will have you turning the pages till the end. I’ve read several books by this author and this series and have truly enjoyed reading every single one of them. This may be my favorite yet of this series but I’ve said that with each new book. This authors style of writing and attention to detail pulls you into their world and the twists and turns will have you turning the pages trying to figure out what is going to happen next. Her characters are real, fully developed and make the story come to life. Logan is back at it again but this time she’s away from home visiting friends when a body is found and her friends the prime suspects. Logan is in a race against time as she tries to protect her friends and get to the bottom things before they strike again. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series
