I don’t really know what I expected when I started reading this book. It was a great surprise to actually enjoy a genre that I normally don’t partake in. I do love how Matthew’s flashbacks make the present story more interesting. His past does make him who he is in the story. The overall story does flow really well and the reader can understand what’s going on pretty easily.

Master Tuscano (Book Two in the Masters of the Consulate Series) By Sylvia Black
Master Tuscano is the second book in this series. This book is fast paced but is an easy read. This book centres around Christian who is another if the masters and Delilah who the Consulate does not like or approve of. Christian appears to be pig headed and will protect Delilah from anyone. As for Delilah being human, she does not stay around to hear things that she feels she does not need to listen to. Being human is one thing the Consulate sees as a problem for them. Now as with all epic stories such as this one, things go pear shaped, Christian decides he needs to turn Delilah into a vampire and basically does not care what the consulate will think as there is no way he is going to lose the one that he loves. Will Christian be in trouble with the Consulate for his move with Delilah? Really enjoying this series and so glad I decided to read the books.

Master Descallia (Book One in the Masters of the Consulate Series) By Sylvia Black
This is my second book by Sylvia Black, which is Master Descallia the first book in the series. After reading book 11 first then coming to book one I would suggest they should not be read as a stand alone as we all know even the smallest amount of background history helps throughout the series. As I said in my book 11 review, I do not normally read vampire stories, but this series looks like it is going to be good one to read. I have to say this book is a nice quick read and has been written beautifully. This book centres around Salvatore and Lucianna. Lucianna is a detective, Salvatore is an Overlord, they are brought together to work on the disappearance of women. In order for the search for the missing women to continue, she has been given a team to collaborate with her. It is through the search interactions that he finds thee is attraction between himself and Lucianna, but why and how can is the attraction there? If you enjoy vampire stories, I think this may be shaping up to be the series you need to read.

This book forms part of the War of Destiny series and is the backstory on a character we have become familiar with throughout the series. I would high recommend reading the books in the order the author intended to get full enjoyment out of it. It was brilliant to get to know more about this character and his backstory. I thought the story was a really interesting one to read and it added so much to the overall series. The main character has so much pain and trauma, and it makes the journey he goes on so much more in depth. I was fully pulled into this story and enjoyed it from start to finish.

I’m going to be sad when these books are done. I absolutely love this series! Master Bistrita is the beginning of the end. One more book left, though the author kept you guessing. It felt like it was going to wrap up in this book and not go one more. These books are not meant to be read as standalone novels, but in consecutive order. It’s one long story told over the series, where each of the masters falls. This time it was Master Bistrita’s turn. Chara has a lot going on. Worried about her friend, worried about what’s going on, potentially being in danger ect. Never did she expect a vampire master to be on her radar. Especially after she stood up to him and gave him a peace of mind while checking up on her friend. Never believing in fated mates that all changed after Master Bistrita came to her rescue there’s something there, which exactly needs to be explored. Master Bistrita doesn’t have time to lust after someone, a human at that. He needs to locate Lucas to end this war with the rogues. But Chara is a presence he can’t deny. She’s more and he wants all of her. Unfortunately his worry for her is impeding his judgment while trying to finish the war. Will Chara and Bistrita give in? Will they locate Lucas? Again I don’t want this series to end. I’m glad there’s one more book to look forward too! It’s so worth it! This one was good not one of my favorites but good all the same.

An Ember of Hope i( War of Destiny Series) is a wonderfully written Paranormal story that will have you turning the pages till the end. I’ve read several books by this author and this one may be my favorite yet. This is a story of the struggles and trauma one might have after imprisonment and the betrayal you feel. Matthew is struggling to move forward and having serious issues with trust and not knowing who he can and can’t trust. Those he thought he could turns out he can’t. He’s trying to find himself and in the process gets a new persona but what will happen when it’s threatened? I truly enjoyed reading this book and highly recommend reading it to find out what happens next? I can’t wait for more from this Author.

I was a little lost starting this book, but it is probably more to do with me starting here and not at the beginning, once I got into the storyline of the book, I only put it down when I had to. This is the first book I have read by this author, and I have to say because of the writing style I found this book easy to read. I do not tend to read a lot of vampire stories, but I am glad I decided to give this book a go. This book the main characters are Bistrita and Chara. I did find that these two characters were a little repetitive in the way they spoke to each other, but for me it did not spoil their storyline. I also liked how strong both Bistrita and Chara’s characters were as strong as each other. To finish this book is fast paced, has quite a bit action, which I hope will keep you interested in the story.

This book book is part of the War of Destiny series and in my opinion should be read as part of the series for the best reading experience. There is book is about Matthew and all of the craziness that he goes through. Kidnapping, torture and betrayal are some of the many hardships throughout this story. The writing was good and pulled me in and the overall story left me wanting to read more by this author! I would definitely recommend this to a friend. Happy Reading!

The War of Destiny series was definitely one of my favorites because the author has a way of crafting such an incredible experience with every detail, yet somehow they never seem to be too full of unnecessary filler. This book is just as intricately crafted and detailed as the previous in the series. As such, I wouldn’t recommend reading this without the other books as well. You would miss out on the big experience, but more importantly, you would be quite confused jumping in so far from the beginning. The author has also kindly provided trigger warnings, so please check those as well. I am extremely excited that we get to focus on Matthew and learn about the inner war he battles. The number of twists and turns within these pages had me on the edge of my seat! If you enjoy paranormal stories with vampires, plenty of action and suspense, then this is without a doubt the next book for you!

This book is part of the War of Destiny series. It is more of an offshoot story or character backstory. While it could technically be a stand alone, I wouldn’t recommend it. I think I would be lost if I tried to read it as a stand alone. But as part of the series, I loved it, as I do the entire series! This book centers on Matthew and the aftermath of Julia’s betrayal. It might be a touch tedious on Matthew’s angst, but it wasn’t so much that I didn’t want to read it. Matthew is understandably struggling to recover after being kidnapped and tortured by Valentino. His struggle with flashbacks and nightmares is relatable to anyone who has struggled with a trauma in their life. He is also feeling grief from losing his ka-tet or family. Overall, I highly recommend this book and series!

Matthew de la Roche is struggling with finding who he is without his ka-tet and his soulmate. He was betrayed by a member of his ka-tet which led to his capture, torture, and rescue. Unfortunately, his freedom resulted in the death of his soulmate, Christy, and the loss of his power over fire elements. Matthew walks away from his ka-tet and any resistance vampires in order to reset and figure out how to regain his power. As he is settling into his new city, he steps in to save a young girl from being trampled by a horse. In doing so, it puts him into debt with the Medici family. Matthew has never been one to spend a lot of time with humans, yet he finds himself drawn into their lives and becomes one of their closest friends. When strange attacks begin to happen and soldiers turn up missing, Matthew feels drawn into the conflict. He recognizes the type of attacks and begins to help train the Medici men on how to protect themselves and how to attack these strange men that only attack at night. However, he feels the lack in himself with the loss of his fire element. Can he regain what he has lost in time to protect those who gave him a safe haven to heal?
I have kept up with this series and I am really glad that the author added Matthew’s story to it. This book gives insight into what happens with Matthew when he walks away from his ka-tet members. It explains what struggles he has to overcome before he can even begin to forgive those who betrayed him. I think that he had a lot of self-discoveries to go through to get to a place of even considering forgiveness. I think the author did a lovely job of balancing the past with his present and defining his self-discovery path.

An Ember of Hope is the sixth book in the War of Destiny series by Theresa Van Spankeren. This is an original, clever, detailed, descriptive, and intriguing paranormal saga- with vampires, action, adventure, emotion, pain, trauma, high stakes, politics, agendas, atmospheric world building, danger, intrigue, tense developments, violence, drama, and plenty of suspense. This story comes with a trigger warning, so if you have any issues/triggers, you will want to read them before plunging in. (there are flashbacks of torture and imprisonment etc) This series really does seem to get better and better with each new instalment- building on what has come previously. I highly recommend reading the other books before starting on this one, because they all come together to create a ‘bigger picture’, not to mention they are all great reads int their own rights, while providing hours of entertaining adventure to dive into. Pursuit into Darkness is the 2nd book in the series and I really enjoyed it. The POV is the FMC, Julia, and it follows her and the Ka-Tet she is. The story is quick moving, plenty of background info that doesn’t bog the storyline down at all. The characters were well written and had great world building. It does end on a bit of a cliffhanger and I really want to pick up the next one to find out more. Not sure if Julia was hallucinating, is going crazy, and if there really is someone playing with her head. Looking forward to the next one.

An Ember of Hope: War of Destiny was a good read. I did have a hard time staying with it, but I think that’s because there really isn’t much dialogue for a good portion of the book. It makes sense for the story, it was just a harder read to get into than I thought it was going to be. The story is unique and I really did like the book overall. The last half of the book picks up and the last quarter I really enjoyed.
This is a side book following the events of the 2nd book in the series. It almost seemed like two different writers. The POV were from two completely different people, but I enjoyed the 2nd book more than this one.

This is a powerful story of grief, betrayal and a story of looking for redemption. I have been following this series since the first book. This book embarks on a new level as Matthew is struggling to move past his trauma. By accident, he comes across and ends up with the Medici’s. It’s really a wonderful story that has been written so well. The author has done a great job with giving us a picture of what ancient times would have looked like back then. It’s also a little paranormal with vampires, which is such a nice bonus. As with the other stories, this is so intriguing that it just picks you up and pulls you in.

This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up. I enjoy their creative writing style as well as the journey the characters take me on. This is a well written story about betrayal and a struggle to get past trauma from imprisonment. Matthew is left not being able to trust those he once did. Master Bistrita is the 11th book in the ‘Masters of the Consulate’ series. Although it can technically be read as a stand alone since each book focuses on one vampire master and their fated mate, I would suggest reading the series since the sub plot has been going on since very early on. Plus it would make it easier to know who is who.
This time around we follow Master Bistrita and Chara. Chara is a bartender and when the two of them meet, it’s fireworks first thing. They very quickly fall in love and as a Dom/Sub relationship, there is a lot of steam. Most of the time, I love the females in this series but honestly, I found Chara desperate. She really wants to become a vampire and throw everything away for a man she just met. There wasn’t a lot of relationship building with these two. Everything just happens quickly. For a BDSM couple, I expected more steamy scenes but there were only a few.
As for the sub plot, they are still trying to hunt down Lucas. A witch is helping him to evade them at every corner so they have to find out who is helping him if they want to finally catch up to him. Their revenge has been a long time coming.

Master Bistrita is Book 11 in the Master of the Consulate series and I continue to love this series so much. I definitely recommend reading this series from the beginning as each book builds on the characters and also the fight against the evil rogues. Getting lost in the story, Sylvia does an excellent job of luring me in with Vampire Masters, rogues, witches, suspense, danger, betrayals but also spice and everything nice. This story really took me on a roller coaster and anticipation and definitely did not disappoint…
Master Bistrita is a dominant vampire and very loyal. Meeting his match in Chara, he never though it would come down to fated mates. When danger lurks even right next to them….the fight to survive is only the beginning of Bistrita and Chara….

Again the author continues to write a series that is completely spectacular and I was thrilled to get to read this next story in the series. While these are standalone stories all with HEA, because of the running storyline of the rogues attempting to take out the purebloods, it might be easiest to start at the beginning of the series, so you can personally get to know the other characters in the stories. Master Bistrita and Chara have quickly become 2 of my favorites together, I enjoy that he seems to be taking the dominance piece to a higher level than seen before in the other stories, but that Chara seems to make him break all of the rules he has created. It is interesting getting to see vampires, witches, werewolves, and humans working together to take down the rogues. I can wait to read book 12 and see how it all ends.

Another great book by the author. I have read most if not all of the series. Each time I picked up a book, I enjoyed the story and learning about the different pure blood vampires masters and their mates throughout the series. The connection the couples have with each other and with the others in their master group is fighting the rogue vampires. I suggest the books be read in order as much as possible to be able to connect the story from the beginning.

Master Bistrita (Masters of the Consulate Book 11) by Sylvia Black. I’m going to start by saying I’ve not read all of these books but I was still able to understand the plot and characters. This is a paranormal vampire series and its really good. Its the story of Bistrita who is a dominant and he is set on making Chara submit to his will. Chara is very strong willed and is not going to go willingly. They are fated mates but Chara is determined to not be owned by someone. She really wants to be a vampire but she’s not willing to sell her soul for it. Chara is very independent and not really into being owned by anyone but she can’t deny the sexual attraction between them. There is also a war that is going on and much of the story revolves around that taking away from their romance. This story is full of greed, Betrayal, dark underworld, romance and war. Its a great Paranormal Vampire read!

Blood and Ravens: this was a really unique book. I loved the little bit of history behind the casket girls and was definitely a new viewpoint (for me at least!) on a vampire storyline. The characters were well written, good story line, a few twists that I didn’t see coming, and a HEA that didn’t feel cheesy. Set up nicely for a sequel without a huge cliffhanger, which I love. Will definitely check out the next one.

Another Amazing instalment in the Masters of the Consulate series that will keep you turning page after page while keeping you on the edge of your seat. The whole time I was reading it I had such mixed feelings…I wanted to hurry up because I had to know what was going to happen but I also didn’t want it to end. LOL I know we can’t have it both ways but wouldn’t it be good if we could! This book takes us further again into the battle against the rogues and yet more betrayal stings hard. Master Bistrita finds his fated mate in Chara, who proves to be a challenge at times herself. I hope book 12, which will be the exciting conclusion to this fantastic series, isn’t too far away..I just have to know what’s next!!!!!!

It certainly worked as a stand alone as the back story is touched on and discussed in a way that you can follow but I feel you may enjoy more if read in order, saying this the Character development continues and the world is described in a way that you can visualise it easily as you read. <br />This story follows Master Bistrita and Chara, a fated mates BDSM relationship that could have been delved into a little more, and their story feels a little like it takes a step to the side as most of the storyline leans towards the hunt for someone betraying the Consulate and their mates. <br />I would certainly read more by this author to see if I gel with their style.<br /> <br/><br/> <a href=”https://www.goodreads.com/review/list/34425105-tracy”>View all my reviews</a>

This is book 11 of the Masters series and it was filled with lots of action and twists and turns. You can feel the anticipation of a huge ending coming in the final book 12. Can’t wait for the next book. I really enjoyed the story of Master Bistrita and Chara. Another fabulous woman to add to the masters mates. Some surprises in this one so make you read this book to find out what is happening.

Master Bistrita is the eleventh book in the Masters of the Consulate series by Sylvia Black. It is another dark paranormal romance with fated mates, vampires, shifters, witches, magic, rogues, pure bloods, politics, agendas, dramatic developments, BDSM, age gap, supernatural elements, secrets, lies, powerful foes, unexpected allies, danger, tension, intrigue, chemistry, sizzle, action, and more. This is Master Bistrita and Chara’s story- which is a dark, tense, romantic suspense-that not only tells their story, but also helps build onto the bridging story which has been developing over the course of the series. Again, as with the rest of the series, this is told from a duel POV- which helps deliver a fuller perspective- while building a bigger picture of developments. There is a lot going on here, and a large ‘cast’ of characters- delivering a fast-paced read that’s descriptive and detailed. The next is instalment — “Master Slobozia” (Book #12) releases in October, and I’m curious to see where we go from here. Happy Reading…

This is the second book in the series and it focuses on a different master and his mate. I love the characters and reading about their love story. I also love reading more about all the other masters and the drama and suspense in the vampire world.
I like that each book in the series focuses on one different master and his love interest while moving the story along so that all the books are tied together, and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

It focuses on two main characters and their relationship as they get to know each other while trying to figure out who’s behind all the illegal activities that’s making the vampires look bad to the humans.
It’s fast paced, suspenseful and keeps you wanting more.
