Slow burns make me so anxious but I love it at the same time lol. This was such a beautiful read! I LOVE ANGELO SO MUCH! Best friend to lovers trope is easily becoming one of my favorites so I knew I was going to fall in love with this story! Characters are phenomenal and I loved every page. The tension and the angst is so worth it in the end and I highly recommend this standalone! I became so emotionally invested, I never wanted the book to stop! Simply loved it.

This is the third in the series but it can be read as a standalone. Personally I think it best to read the first two books to get some background of the people around them and the world they inhabit.

I wasn’t expecting this to be so heartfelt and affect me emotionally in the way that it did, and despite the book hangover I now have, I love how emotionally invested I was in the couple.

Angelo and Luciana’s story is a slow burn but it’s the sweetest and so worth all the tension and waiting. I love this couple so much.

The characters are lovable and feel real. As usual, I want so much more from these characters and this series.

Slow-burn to healing
This is the third and last book in the Wounded Hearts series and it was a real treat. This author knows how to tie everything together in a nice emotional bow. Angelo is the son of Nicco and Destiny (book 1) and Lucia is the daughter of Enzo and Candi (book 2). These two are best friends from the start and it was wonderful to watch their relationship grow throughout the book as they face the highs and lows. Love this whole series. Highly recommend.

Someone to Watch Over Me is the third book in the Wounded Hearts series by Debbie Cromack. I have to be honest here, this book was a bit of a bitter-sweet read for me knowing that this was the last book in the series, but also needing more of Ms. Cromack’s slow-burn, angsty, and emotional deliciousness that I have become addicted to.
Before diving into this story, I highly suggest reading the previous two books before starting on this one, as not only are they fantastic books in their own right, but I discovered that there is a lovely connection between the first two books and this third instalment.
As expected, this is such a wonderfully angsty and emotional read that tugged on my heartstrings in a major way. Ms. Cromack simmers her plot so beautifully, cooking up a slow burning, but sexy read. She doesn’t shy away from some tougher topics, which adds to the emotional punch of her story.
Angelo and Lucia have been the best of friends since childhood so there is already love and connection between them, but they’d never crossed the ‘friendship’ line. But fate might just have a different plan in mind- throwing these two out of their comfort zone. What happens made for an entirely memorable read. Finding out that Angelo is Nicco and Destiny’s son (from Someone Exactly Like Me- Book #1) and Lucia is Candi and Enzo’s daughter (from Kiss Away Your Pain Book #2) was like getting extra icing on the cake for me.
I was so excited to see that Ms. Cromack has a new series in the works- and I am itching to get my hands on her Broken Billionaire series! Bring on Book One- I can’t wait!!!
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Debbie Cromack!

Someone to Watch Over Me is the third book and another fantastic read in this wonderful Wounded Hearts series. Make sure to read the books in order. I mean you don’t have to, but I recommend it. This beautiful best friends to lovers contemporary romance tale will have you believing in the song of true love. I have loved all the books, but this is my favourite so far.
Debbie’s beautiful characters are realistic with flaws, are emotionally raw and so easy to fall in love with and to become invested in their story.
This angsty emotional slow burn story has heartache and heartbreak. You may want to have the tissues nearby because you may become teary eyed. BUT don’t worry because there is also humour.
She is trying to move on from a bad decision and needs the one person she didn’t listen to.
I look forward to more of this compelling series.

Oh, this was too sweet of a second-chance romance to miss. Angelo and Lucia grew up together and were childhood friends. There has always been a spark there. There have also always been obstacles to overcome for them both. A well-written story that allows us to follow them as this slow-burn romance develops into so much more. The characters are well-developed and so relatable. The story was a beautiful ending to a beautiful series by this author.

I enjoyed reading this romance story. This is still a newer author for me which I enjoy reading. Their writing style is such that it is written with a lot of heart and soul. I found this book to be well written and hard to put down. A story where the characters pull you into the story and have you coming back for more. I enjoyed watching their growth as well as their chemistry throughout the story. A story where it will take you on an emotional roller coaster ride at the same time connecting with them. This is a fast paced romance story that has much going on with this couple but the author did a great job of keeping the plot straight and engaging. I enjoyed what the characters added to the story as it made it entertaining to read. This is a great story that you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend this book

Someone to Watch Over Me (Wounded Hearts Series Book 3) by Debbie Cromack
Genre – Contemporary Romance

He’s not my brother, but he protects me like he is. He’s not my boyfriend, but I’ve always wished he was.

Angelo Mancini is my best friend and I’ve been in love with him my entire life, but I’ll never confess that to him.

One alcohol-filled night back in college, I asked him to take my virginity. He refused and I felt rejected and embarrassed.

Years later, I end up getting pregnant by the one guy he warned me to stay away from.

My world crashing in around me, I run to the one person I trust…and need…Angelo.

He invites me to stay with him while I figure out what to do. The more time we spend alone, the more it feels like he no longer sees me as just his best friend.

When he’s on stage, playing his guitar and singing a song he wrote for me, I can’t help but wonder if there could actually be more between us.

And if there is, does it even matter with me carrying another man’s baby? I’d like to believe that love always wins, but I’m in a no-win situation.

After all these years, we may both end up with broken hearts…and a destroyed friendship.

This is Book 3, and the final book, in the Wounded Hearts Series. While it can be read as a standalone, your experience will be better if you read this books 1 and 2 first.

(This book contains steamy scenes, miscarriage, the passing of a grandparent. and some explicit language. Suitable for 18+ only.)

Hi! I’m Debbie Cromack and I write contemporary novels that are romantic, sexy, and emotional with a lot of heart and worth-the-wait steam. I’ve been called the Master of Slow Burn, a title I happily accept.

I write realistic, flawed characters you’d want to get to know in real life. My heroes are virile and also broken. They have huge hearts, respect their women, and have a hidden romantic side. These men don’t just fall in love, they fall and never look back. My heroines are often awkward, feisty, and embody everything the hero never knew he needed.

After spending 25+ years in corporate America, being the CEO of an event decorating company, and then an online business coach, I tried my hand at writing romance novels, publishing my debut novel at the age of 50, and have been writing ever since.

I live in an old farmhouse where I care for a dwarf bunny named Nutmeg, two Nigerian dwarf goats named Patches and Tiny, and lots of chickens. I like my book boyfriends how I like my cocoa: hot and yummy! With my knack for decorating, I tend to go all-out for each holiday. And I’m a total sucker for the Hallmark Channel…especially at Christmas.

Kamana Wanalaya for the Holidays by Susan Renee – review by enisha reaves

Kamana Wanalaya for the Holidays by Susan Renee

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

If you are looking for a fun and hilarious romantic comedy that would be perfect to transport you out of the cold and in the mood for the holidays, then this one is for you!

Kamana Wanalaya for the Holidays by Susan Renee follows Teagan, the love Guru and Tenley the love Cynic as they both try to prove each other wrong on their view of love. It all goes down when Teagan invites Tenley during an interview to a couples retreat at a beautiful Hawaiian resort. If she doesn’t fall in love with love, then he will donate to her podcast. So how will this go? Which will prevail…love or cynicism?

This book was so enjoyable. I laughed out loud a few times at the banter between the main characters while being jealous I wasn’t the one celebrating the holidays in Hawaii. Grab a drink, throw on some shades, and enjoy this quick and spicy read.

Happy Reading!

This romance story has it all. Great word building, story telling, pacing ect! It had a perfect balance of steamy scenes, and story, neither tried to overtake the other. It want too much or too little. I quite enjoyed it all! Candi is afraid to love again. True love doesn’t happen twice. Or does it? Enzo is afraid of commitment and everything it brings. A single touch brings them together over and over, and over again. They both can’t help the feeling they draw to each other. Will they both open their hears to each other and explore the feelings they have for each other, or will it fall flat and these two lovebirds never be together?

Candi had her heart broken when she lost the love of her life. She doesn’t believe that you have more than one in a lifetime so she isn’t really looking to be with anybody. Enzo himself has been hurt and he doesn’t do relationships, but when he sets his eyes upon Candi he knows she is someone worth knowing. After being turned down he doesn’t think he will ever see her again. When they run into one another at a photoshoot they strike up a friendship that slowly becomes something more. They both however have a lot of baggage that they are dealing with individually that they must get rid of before becoming serious. Neither wants to have their heart broken again but maybe this is their opportunity for a happily ever after. Will they be able to overcome their personal obstacles and be happy together or will they walk away always wondering what if?

Kiss Away Your Pain (Wounded Hearts Series Book 2) by Debbie Cromack – Review by Beverly Finnie

Kiss Away Your Pain (Wounded Hearts, #2)Kiss Away Your Pain by Debbie Cromack
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved it! Kiss Away Your Pain was sad and sweet. The author wrote a wonderful book to add to the series. I read Nicco and Destiny’s story, so I was excited to jump into Candi and Enzo. These two characters have been through so much tragedy it’s hard to believe. Though it’s a book of fiction these tragedies are very much real. So be mindful in regards to your own history it could be a trigger. Besides that, don’t even pass this book up. It has so much to offer. It’s a book that could be the first steps to healing a broken heart. Well that’s what it is to me.
Candi lost the love of her life. Made a decision at that point she would remain single for life. She never expected Enzo to blow into her life. He’s rocked her existence. He’s shown her that her dreams are still possible.
The question is, is she brave enough to go for it?
Or will her fear of leaving Dom behind hold her back?
Enzo never wanted anything serious. He just doesn’t have time. But when Candi walked into his life, that all changed. He wants more with her. He wants to break down her walls. He identifies with her on such a deep level, he refuses to give her up.
Will he get her to see how good moving on could be?
Candi’s growth is beautiful, slowly blooming as the book progresses.
I enjoy Candi’s spitfire, no nonsense attitude. I’m sure you will too. Beautifully written as a standalone but it’s definitely the next book in a series. Saying that, read it!

Kiss Away Your Pain (Wounded Hearts, #2)Kiss Away Your Pain by Debbie Cromack
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When Enzo sees Candi for the first time…it is lust at first site. He asks her out, but she turns him down. He assumes he will never see her again. All of this is fine, because his lifestyle doesn’t allow room for a relationship. He has been hurt in the past…and he does not want to go down that road again.

Candi is taken by Enzo’s good looks and charm…but her heat was broken years ago and she never got it back. Dom was her true love, and she doesn’t believe that people get more than one in their lifetime. To save herself from the hurt she felt over Dom, she just doesn’t open her heart to anyone.

However, these to strike up a friendship at a photo shoot and it builds from there. However, they both have their own baggage that is standing in their own way when it comes to moving forward with each other. When they come to a crossroads in their relationship, will they move forward with each other or let each other go in order to protect their hearts?

This story is a true slow-burn…but was a good read. I enjoyed watching these characters dance around (and with) each other while trying to navigate the dating world while protecting themselves. They are both deserving of happiness and I was rooting for them the whole way. A good read that I enjoyed.

I enjoyed reading this wonderful love story. The author wrote this story in such a way that made me get to know and relate to the characters. I became invested in their outcome and found myself rooting for them. Enzo is the type of guy that all women want. Enzo is smart, attractive, respectful, and has many talents. He doesn’t have time for relationships because of his career. Candi has lost her soul mate so she has resigned herself to live the rest of her life without ever falling in love again. Candi is a very career oriented woman, she has worked hard to build up her career to what it has become. She is an independent and attractive woman. The chemistry between these two is off the charts. There is an unexpected twist in this story. This is a must read if you want to know how their story unfolds. I highly recommend this book.

I have to start by saying that I loved getting even a small glimpse of Nicco and Destiny’s wedding when I first started this book. In the first book, we didn’t learn a lot about Candi other than she was Destiny’s best friend. Debbie did a good job further developing her character and giving insight as to why she tends to hold back. Debbie used this story and showed that despite the hardships we experience, we can learn to love again. Look forward to reading more of her work.

Kiss Away Your Pain (Wounded Hearts, #2)Kiss Away Your Pain by Debbie Cromack
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second book in the Wounded Hearts series. I had loved the first book and was really hoping that Candi would get her own book and was so looking forward to reading her story. I was certainly not disappointed. In fact, I loved this book even more than the first one.
Candi and Enzo’s story hits you with all the feels. It’s a total roller coaster of emotions journey. There was laughter and there were tears. Many tears. I’d have tissues handy when reading this. Or maybe I’m just a total sap who cries at the slightest thing.
Candi is still trying to get over the death of her boyfriend Dom when Enzo comes into her like. It’s been a few years and deep down she knows that Dom would want her to move on and find love again but it’s not that easy. But the more time she spends with Enzo, the more she’s at war with herself.
I really loved reading this story. When reading a romance novel you assume that the HEA is coming, but it’s all about the journey and how they get there. The path to true love does not run smooth and this author makes Enzo and Candi work for it, throwing in a few surprises along the way they I definitely didn’t see coming.
100% recommend.

Kiss Away Your Pain (Wounded Hearts, #2)Kiss Away Your Pain by Debbie Cromack
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is book two of the series but can be read as a standalone.

Candi was sure she’s already met her soulmate. Now he’s gone. She just isn’t meant to love anymore. There’s no way there could be anyone to make her feel the way she did. That is until she meets Enzo. Enzo spots Candi across the room and knows she’s beautiful. Nothing can happen though, he doesn’t do relationships. Will these two be able to work through their hang ups or is there really just one soulmate after all?

I enjoyed this book! The chemistry between Candi and Enzo is off the charts. I was rooting for them the whole time! Definitely worth a read!

This was a really sweet and adorable story. Enzo and Candi were just wonderful characters to read about , they are the type that you take into your heart as soon as you start reading about them. I adored Enzo, he was just the sweetest character ever and I was rooting for him and Candi the whole way through. I did feel for Enzo at times and how his past had an effect on how he viewed any potential future relationships. Candi was a really relatable character, again things in her past have made her the way she is today.
This story was beautifully written and I would absolutely recommend it.

I love a good slow burn and this is definitely that! The fire and passion that burns from the start between Enzo and Candi is undeniable. Even though they have both been dealt some crappy hands in life they are perfect for each other and truly help the other grow and heal from past trauma. He screws up and comes close to losing her at one point, but they manage to salvage what has been damaged.

I really liked this book. Wondering if maybe there might’ve been a book before this focusing on Nicco and Destiny.
This book starts at Nicco and Destiny’s wedding. The bartender Enzo sees the maid of honor and immediately is attracted to her. Candi’s heart is taken by Dom. Dom passed away years ago but he took her heart with him. Enzo and Candi run into eachother on a photoshoot and become friendly. They are perfect for eachother. I love them as a couple. Both are attracted to eachother but they both have baggage. Lots of baggage in their own way. Their lives are about to come to a crossroad but will they be able to overcome everything ? There’s definitely a part of the book when I said “Oh My Goodness….no way!”
Such a good read. Glad I got the chance to read this one.

I was looking forward to reading this book after reading the first in the series. This book was just as good as the first and I really enjoyed the chemistry between the characters. It was instant and believable. They are the kind of characters that you can really get behind and want to find a way to happiness.
This author really knows how to write a story that builds as the book goes on. It is a slower pace than a lot of books but I think that helps to add to the story. It allows you to get to know the characters more and become invested in their story. I am looking forward to what this author produces next and I will definitely be reading it.

Enzo and Candi are just perfect together. He is able to fulfill her more than anyone before and she has made him realize that he can find love. But when their pasts collide can they find a way to overcome and make it all work? This is the second book in this series and the author just keeps getting better. The story draws you in and makes you feel all the things the main characters feel. There is a point in this story where Candi is in a storm and you can feel her sadness and grief as well as the storm raging around her. This has to be one of the best books I have read this year.

I liked the chemistry between Nicco and Destiney. Their frustrating way of miscommunication in what they are looking for is something relatable. I enjoy slow burn romances where love is earned.
