To Be a Fae Queen by Tricia Copeland is a very interesting take on the faerie stories, though I was not expecting the story to be about a Titania and Oberon that were not THE Titania and Oberon that end up ruling over the Seelie court together. The pacing at times felt a bit awkward, there would be an event that would happen but would not get talked about and I would have to go back to see if they had even finished the event or if it was going to be continued later. Other than that, I did really enjoy the story of Titania coming into her own power and faith of herself as she deals with anxiety and having lost most of her family, it can be seen in a very inspiring way. It was also very fun to see it bring in witches and vampires into the storyline to bring those genres together. I do always enjoy watching characters go from one type of life and must adjust into another type of life very suddenly. This is recommended if you enjoy anything faerie related.

In Over Her Head: Lights, Camera, Anxiety is the second book in The Cecily Taylor Series by Krysten Lindsay Hager. I highly recommend reading this series in order as this picks up where the first book left off. This was a quick read for me considering I couldn’t put it down till I finished I had to know what was going to happen next. Cecily feels like she has it all, the boyfriend , best friend and a great job. Her best friend starts to ditch her more and more and she’s trying to adjust to her relationship with Andrew. This relationship is new to her considering she’s never had one quite like it before. But what will happen when she see a photo of Andrew with another girl? This epic fantasy read kept me up feeling all kinds of emotions! Titania is the fearless character everyone loves to read about. Having to decide what is best for her and the kingdom is not an easy task. I love how the author ties in real life complications in a fae world. I also love Tricia Copelands descriptions of the fae world and their traditions! I will definitely be reading more from this author!

If you’re looking for something cute and relatively light, overall, this is a great choice. A few times, the book seems to move way too fast, and other times, it moves way too slowly, and some of the character relationships seem a little two-dimensional. However, overall, the main character has some interesting challenges she has to overcome. Though I did feel that I was somewhat “tossed into the world,” with very little explanation as to what was and wasn’t allowed to happen, you definitely pick it up fairly quickly. It’s a fun little adventure that I found myself captivated by, despite some of the things I thought I maybe didn’t like.

I was so excited to finally get the 2nd book in this series. I had to see where things were going for Cecily and Andrew. They have decided to give a relationship a try, but now he has to get back to work. Cecily is starting to have some anxiety about the distance between them. They have such a great connection between them, will they be able to make things work?
Of course there is a twist that will make Cecily question their relationship. In the middle of all this Cecily starts working on her modeling/acting career, being in the video got her some attention. The author does a great job with her writing and you feel like you’re right there with them. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story, I really love Gran. Her father trains her in weaponry, music, books and history making her a well-rounded capable woman. But, when the real calamity hits, he stonewalls his daughter and entrusts his army to trace the enemy. But when the army fails, Titania has to take the responsibility on herself to find this new enemy who is responsible of stealing something very valuable which belongs to her and her father. This is a coming-of-age adventure princess story filled with action, mystery and danger. Titania is a very fiery heroine, though I did feel her character is a bit too mature for the age. The challenges she faces are grave and the obstacles many. The crown comes with a hefty price to pay. I am a Fantasy and YA book lover, but this is my first Fae novel… I wasn’t sure if I’d like it or not. I have to say that I was impressed. Tatiana is a great heroine, smart, fearless, brave, and compassionate. She knows her mind, and is unafraid to be stubborn and follow the paths her instincts tell her to be true. This book has all the markings of great YA lore: a gutsy hero, an adventure to save a kingdom, and many trials along the way for Tatiana to prove her worthiness, or die trying. She is a well-rounded character and as admirable as any in the face of battle. Her close compatriots are also very well crafted and diverse: Foster, her potential love interest; Kane, the loyal and smart general; Tatiana’s own father, the king, whom she admires and is often a confidante. I was very invested in the outcome, and impressed with the depiction of the magical world. Copeland is very skilled at drawing the reader in with her characters, beautiful word illustrations of Middle Earth, and lots of battles and tests to keep readers engaged. A good escape that I thoroughly enjoyed.

To be a Fae Queen is the first book in it’s series. First read from this author for me and I love her work already. I felt this story was very well written and such a great read. Once started I was drawn into the magical world of the faes and had to know all that was happening, couldn’t set the book aside until finished. The characters were amazing, along with the story line. The story had magic, fae, drama, action, coming of age. Was very engaging throughout the entire story. I am really looking forward to what comes next of the fae world.

She is beginning to work as a model, has a famous singer boyfriend and has the best friends but when things start falling apart she realizes she might not have it all together at all! Andrew has always been her rock, her go to but when he has a picture published with another beautiful girl Cecily starts to lose it. Cecily suffers from crippling anxiety which a lot of young adults suffer from. She sees the bad side of every situation even if it never happens. Andrew also has bad anxiety and that is why he and Cecily hit if off so well. They were always there for one another so when this picture is printed both of their worlds blow up. This is a touching story about a young girl and guy thrown into the spotlight at a very young age and the way they handle it. Will Cecily be able to deal with all the drama without Andrew and her best friends? A very good young adult novel.

In Over Her Head: Lights, Camera, Anxiety is the 2nd book in the young adult Cecily Taylor series by Krysten Lindsay Hager. I really enjoyed the first book in this series and was looking forward to seeing what was in store next for Cecily and Andrew. This is a really great young adult romance book, which is also suitable for older adults like myself who enjoy and good romance novel. One thing I love so much about this series of books is the way that the subject of anxiety is so well dealt with. I, myself suffer from crippling anxiety and can relate so much to Andrew’s character but even more so to Cecily; always assuming the worst when you don’t get a reply to a text, seeing the worst in every situation. This totally resonates with me and I really hope that many young adults, those suffering from anxiety and also those who do not, would gain a great deal by reading this book. Not everything in life is rosy for everyone. Some people struggle to get from one day to the next and this book does a great job of dealing with this issue. I also loved seeing Cecily start to bloom into a more confident version of herself, going out of her comfort zone at times to help achieve her dreams. This is a great book which I would definitely recommend.

To be a Fae Queen by Tricia Copeland is not a typical read for me, and it took me a while to get into it; however, once I got in the groove, I loved it. The author has a way of making the reader invested in the characters and the world she’s created. This book is everything you could ever want to see in a Fantasy novel: faeries, monsters, magical places and sparkling characters. The book’s protagonist, a fairy princess named Titania, is faced with the duty of claiming the throne and becoming Queen in the land of her people. After hardships, loss, and many challenges, Titania must prove herself to be the rightful ruler. This is the first installment in the Realm Chronicles by Copeland, and I will be looking forward to the second. 4 out of 5 stars.

Cecily has it all or at least it feels like it. She’s got the best friend, the boyfriend, the great job. It’s all going so well. Was everything picture perfect or too good to be true?
I enjoyed this book! It’s pretty relatable in terms of Cecily’s anxiety and journey away from perfection. The story is so well written and the characters are great and very well developed. I definitely recommend!

Now Cecily has all she wants will her world end up perfect or will it come crashing down around her.
Cecily is now famous with her acting and modelling but getting used to the celebrity life especially being so young in the middle of this crazy world but she still has one constant with Andrew. He is the only person who seems to get her, although one night may change that forever.
Andrew is living the dream, a great career and a beautiful girlfriend but one night may ruin his life as he knows it when he is photographed with a woman on his shoulder but even when he tries to deny it and is at a loss how this has happen, his whole world seems to be spiralling out of control.
This is a great addition to the series and brings the life of Cecily back into the forefront, the chemistry between the two main characters is off the pages and with the surprises along the way this story will have you gripped. I loved the young angst and that Cecily although has a lot of pressure on her at a young age is dealing with growing up in the media with growing up full stop.
The story was well written and the second characters added to the story brilliantly and I want a Grandma like Cecily as she was probably my favourite character in the series. I can’t wait to read more books by this author.

This book is everything I needed without knowing it :Adventure, danger, romance, mystery, suspense, and magic. Add in the kick ass characters and fun plot line and you’ve got yourself a great read!
I love a good fantasy novel but it’s easy to get lost and confused in a world someone else made up; but this book covered all the bases so that didn’t happen. She was very descriptive and clear and even provided maps! It’s very evident Tricia put a lot of time and thought into her character development and boy did it pay off. I’m hesitant to read a book with a young main character that may be too angsty/coming of age because I’m currently living with one and I don’t need to think about two! Luckily, Tricia delivered the perfect protagonist and gave her a great plot to work with.
Without wanting to give too much away my only constructive feedback is that sometimes I felt some scenes were a bit vague. Now this could also be because she is setting things in motion that will all come together in the next book. This reader can’t wait to find out!

Krysten Lindsay Hager knows her teen world well. This is every young girl’s fairytale. The highs and lows that every teen experiences. The emotions in this story will be thrown and you will feel this too. I love the characters; they are every young girl’s friends. In Over Her Head: Lights, Camera, Anxiety was a read I was not totally expecting. It was really nice to read about the main characters be open (for the most part) about their anxieties about anything and everything. Cecily has anxiety that is present throughout this story, she is also very strong. It was weird reading about someone else’s anxiety, it made mine come out while reading this sometimes. It was a story about regular teen issues and a bit of drama, but in a way that anyone could read and enjoy it. I loved reading more about these characters and seeing where their journeys are heading.

I always love getting stuck into a good fantasy book. Faeries are always great characters to base the story around. Titania was never meant to be Queen but when her brothers die, she is the only living heir left to the Fae King. In over her head by Krysten Lindsay Hager a sweet as sugar four-star read. This is number two in the Cecily Taylor series and I love the first and enjoyed this one just as much. It was nice reading this, it takes me back to being a teenager and remembering first love and all of the complications that go with it. It also makes me so glad I am not a teenager any more as I couldn’t deal with the hassle of social media mixed in with hormones and drama.

Lycus is a werewolf, he was cursed to live this life by a witch and for 18 years he was a man by day and a wolf by night, all to protect the girl in the tower called Rapunzel, but all that changed the day that Red, a girl living near the cursed woods and the only one brave enough to hunt in there despite the woods, came along and rescued Rapunzel and vows to help her return to her home in Oz.
This is how the three unlikely allies and friends end up leaving all they have known all or most of their lives and Red leaving her last living relative behind to board a ship heading to Brackengulch, however the journey is not going smoothly when they are hit by a terrible storm and shipwrecked. Fortunately Lycus is able to transform into his wolf and swim to safety with the two girls in his back, but although they are back on land, they’re not safe as they are told that they have landed in the Kingdom of Bruen, the ones who cut off the cursed Blakx forest in order to save themselves.
They are politely questioned by a soldier who knows about the shipwreck and as they try to warm up in a local tavern, it is announced that they have been invited up to the castle as the King and Queen’s guests, this is not wholly welcomed, but it is grudgingly accepted. While they are travelling in the horse drawn covered wagon, they briefly look out of the wagon to see what the Kingdom is like and all they see are wary subjects and threats are given freely to anyone when things are discussed which should not be, but try as they might they get no more answers apart from there is a curfew at sunset because the dark is dangerous. They eventually arrive at the castle and are offered rooms to freshen up in, clean clothes and an invitation to dine with the King and Queen that evening, but Lycus manages to upset the King with a careless question, which is unexpected as it is normally Red who would do something that, especially with her grave dislike of the royalty and kingdom in question. After dinner they return to their rooms where Lycus talk with his serving boy and asks him for more information about why the villagers are scared and what of and although he gets answers, they just being more question, but manages to get some time with Red and Rapunzel so they can discuss these facts in relative secrecy, followed by Lycus slipping out of the castle to see what he can find out on his own, but he runs into more trouble and ends up having to join in a hunt for this “Beast” everyone is scared of, or his sisters as they have been assumed to be, will be imprisoned.
Will Lycus be able to play his part in the hunt and ensure that Red and Rapunzel are allowed to remain free, or will he find that his inner beast finds a kindred spirit when he is captured by the beast and will this make his choice between his friends and a princess be his downfall? This is another fantastic retelling of an untold story which keeps you just as interested in finding out the differences between them.

Wolf’s Beautiful Beast (The Untold Stories series, book 3) by Suzanna Lynn was another great read! I swear, each book in this series gets better and better, and more interesting. This was another tale full of action, and adventure and even some suspense at the beginning. Red is one of the best characters in my opinion, and one of my favorites, but reading this story from Lycus’s point of view was interesting and great! I can’t wait to read the next installment and see what happens next!

This heartwarming YA read was a quick and enjoyable book. It picks up where the first book ended but can be enjoyed as a standalone. Lots of YA angst and emotion. If you identify with Cecily be prepared for an emotional onslaught. It took me back to my teenage days obsessed with boy bands and dreaming of stardom and boyfriends. Something you could easily share with the teenager in your life.

To be a Fae Queen (Realm Chronicles #1) by Tricia Copeland
This is the first book I’ve had the chance of reading by Copeland. I’ve heard several of her books and have never read one. This one caught my eye.
Titania is a Fae Princess soon to be Queen. When something that haunts her people she takes it upon herself. She notices that her crystals are going missing. The quote I chose for Titania is: “We will need lanterns and fuel. But first, we must find out if there are any crystals left in the Faerie Ring or if the kobold have absconded with all of them. If there are not any left, I doubt they will return. They will probably move on to the next kingdom.”

Wolf’s Beautiful Beast (The Untold Stories #3) by Suzanna Lynn
This isn’t the first book I’ve read by Lynn and it just keeps getting better and better. Lynn knows how to draw in readers and keep them there.
Lycus is also known as the big bad wolf. Except he’s not bad. He’s just misunderstood and just a boy. He’s not evil and so far he has saved many lives. Including Red’s. The quote I chose for Lycus is: “Thank you for your care and hospitality.”
Arabella is the princess they’ve locked away because she is cursed. She is a girl trapped in a dragon’s body. When Lycus promises to help her she insists that he does. The quote I chose for Arabella is: “No! It’s not supposed to happen this way. Why did you get in the way?”
