I was so excited to be able to go on yet another adventure with Emma and the gang and during my favorite time of the year no less. It’s the Christmas season, and of course more mystery abounds. The book is written to pick up where the last book left off, but also allows new readers to quickly join in on the fun without being confused about past events that brought our beloved characters to where they currently are in their lives. I really enjoyed this book just like the others, with all of its historical facts and charisma, and I hope to see more of the Notebook Mysteries series in the future.
Fast forward to 1887, we return with another promising adventure. Emma awakes in a dangerous situation. At first it seems that she is alone, but Dear One is with her. The circumstances of their situation are slowly revealed to the reader. Which appears to be the first mystery of many. This book, like the others in the series, is full of mystery, intrigue and plot twists. I have enjoyed it thoroughly and hope to find out where life takes Emma next.
It is now 1885, 2 years since the second book ended, and we finally get to find out who the narrator and the mysterious Dear One are referring to when the narrator speaks. This book follows suit if the series and continues with the mystery and intrigue. I won’t spoil any of the surprises but there are some repeat characters in this book which makes for a nice treat as well. I’m hooked and looking forward to the next adventure.

This book picks up where it left off. It reminds readers of the previous story’s intrigue and mysteries, and also explains more about the events that led to present day events. It is now 1883 12 years after the last book began and 2 years after it ended. Emma the forever adventurer has new mysteries and secrets to unfold in this next installment of the notebook mysteries series. The book certainly doesn’t disappoint with its fair share of mystery and intrigue. I am looking forward to reading the next book and seeing what new adventures Emma finds herself in.

So many gorgeous pictures to colour! The images have a Halloween twist but are also cute and fun! Plus I love the testing pages at the front that allow you to test your colouring materials first rather than potentially ruining any of the colouring pages by accident! Will be looking forward to more from this creator!
Adorable designs and costumes, good for all ages. Not too elaborate and not too basic. Just enough detail to have fun coloring different designs and styles without being too detailed to really enjoy it.
Dainty Damsels: Halloween Collection 2022by J.N. Sheats. is a cute colouring book with a Halloween theme. The illustrations are lovely- with a bit of an anime feel. These spooktacular drawings invite you to take up pencils, pens, ink, or paint- and embrace your inner artist and let loose your creativity. Happy colouring-in!

There is a beginning scribble page to test out your art media and what to do if your coloring bleeds through. This is a great idea! Faces look like anime anime artwork and the damsels are age appropriate in design. The characters don’t look scary and are adorable. There are enough details in the pictures to keep you interested and keep coloring for any age group. I like to do adult coloring and this is a wonderful book! The second book of the Grave Digger Academy series and it was worth it! C.A. King is seriously on of my all-time faves. This continuation held no lacklustre! It was another exciting thrilling read following Makayla on her second year! I enjoy the excitement and mystery and find this one of my favourite fantasy sets so far! I can’t wait to see what else we get from the author because it is always worth losing yourself in!

This book starts off with the fictional retelling of the Chicago fire of 1871 and quickly introduces the main character Emma. The story follows Emma as she grows and matures into a wonderful character full of intrigue and strength. I enjoyed how the author incorporated the use of historical events to lend credibility to the book. I am looking forward to the next book and the further development of the characters and their adventures.

I love this Halloween coloring book. The pictures are so cute! It’s always fun and stress free to take time to color. Every page is creative. The lines are medium in size, not small like an adult coloring book, and is enjoyable for all ages.
My daughter and I love to color together and she’s been asking for something not too “little kid” for Halloween season to color and these are perfect! So many to choose from !

This is the first book in the graver digger academy series. This book had me so invested into it from the very first page of the book. I loved every second of it. I was not able to put the book down until I had finished it from start to finish and it had to be done in one sitting. There is a reason why people don’t believe in monsters and it’s not because zombies, vampires, mummies, and ghosts don’t exist… Welcome to Grave Digger Academy- the last place anyone wants to end up. It’s Makayla’s first year in the paranormal academy system. When all three of the schools she applies to deny her entry, there’s only one left. Unfortunately, she’s more interested in finding a way out of Grave Digger Academy than in learning its curriculum. Gravediggers actually do the digging. Grave Diggers, however, keep buried bodies where they belong—six feet under. This year’s students are about to learn corpses can be temperamental, and when the dead refuse to cooperate, there’s Hell to pay. Im excited to read the other books in this series in the near future.

This collection of Halloween coloring pages is great for all ages! I love that there is a sample page at the beginning to test your coloring materials for bleed thru. The pictures are so fun and whimsical and this collection combines two of my favorite things: coloring and Halloween! I was so excited to see this collection and it has not disappointed! My daughter and I have had so much fun coloring together. There is something that appeals to everyone!

This was a fantastic read! This book was honestly a lot better than I was expecting. I was completely enthralled by this one and could hardly put it down. It was interesting, entertaining, thrilling, funny in parts and some parts were sad. I feel like this book had a lot to offer. I also love the fall vibes that it gave off. I’m really glad I decided to pick this one up! I highly recommend trying this one out sometime.

This is a whimsical coloring book for adults. It is also suitable for children and teens. There are 30 sweetly original images to color. In today’s world, we all need to de-stress with some self care, and this coloring book fits the bill! I highly recommend this book!
This is the latest in the series that follows teenage amateur sleuth, Emma. The series itself is full of adventure, mystery, fun, and drama. This book is no exception. While being a quick read it continues to follow the life of Emma who while preparing for Christmas finds herself embroiled in another mystery. You can read this as a stand alone but while you will get a great storyline and fun characters you are missing out on what really makes all those characters tick. Throughout the series we learn so much about each one’s backstory and you always get a great storyline and another adventurous mystery that must be solved! I definitely recommend reading this story and all Emma’s stories!!
Bax is a young lad in middle school who has a pretty ordinary life, he is the invincible kid at school and just flows along with existence, but he has always wanted something special to happen to him, something out of the ordinary, but nothing ever does!
One day, he is heading home after playing video games with his best friend and he is trying to beat his mum back home so he doesn’t get in trouble for staying out too late, but when he gets to his apartment building, there is someone waiting on the front steps. It appears to be a homeless man who is not in the best of health, apart from his glowing purple eyes, however, when he gives Bax a ring which is meant to be from his estranged dad, he takes it thinking if he figures it out, then maybe he will know something more about him.
Unbeknownst to Bax, he has just been given a ring with a Djinn in it and it calls to him through a dream, it tells Bax he can have everything his heart desires if he summons it, but the Ifrit, as it is named twists Bax’s subconscious fantasies and threatens, murders and manipulated the people around him instead.
All Bax now wants to do is to banish the Ifrit forever, but can he work out the how, when and where before the streak of crimes the Djinn is committing are linked back to Bax? This is a fantasy adventure where wishes are granted, but not in the expected way and it becomes a race against time to save the people he loves in this story which talks about choices, consequences and morality in a way everyone can understand while keeping it interesting and engrossing throughout.
First things first I learned that djinn meant genie, which I didn’t know when I picked the book up. After that things fall more firmly in place and begin to make a little more sense. This is a pretty fast paced YA book that pulls you in from the start and won’t let go, kind of like the Djinn.
Bax just wants something memorable to happen in his life so when an old man gives him a ring he takes it. This sets Bax on the journey of his life after he starts having dreams about a powerful djinn. As dreams become nightmares when an ifrit is unleashed upon the world and this demon feeds upon his subconscious. Now Bax must solve a puzzle to banish the ifrit forever. With a trail of crimes, destruction, and death that point back to Bax can he solve this puzzle and survive?
This is truly the age old tale of being careful what you wish for because oftentimes dreams can be worse than reality. This was a fantastic coming of age tale. It was fantastic to see the character development in Bax as he works to banish the ifrit. This was a fast paced book that certainly keeps you engaged and coming back to read it every time you have a free moment. Give this one a try even if it seems out of your wheelhouse, because it is definitely worth it.
After reading book one in this paranormal series I was ecstatic to finally pick up book two to see what happens next. This book definitely builds off the first book so while it could be read solo you might feel lost with why some things happen in this book and who the characters are.
This book sees Makayla and her classmates return for year two at the academy except they are summoned early and a portal that shouldn’t have taken them through again does just that. Already starting the year off with more mysteries than answers to her family’s history and just why she is at grave digger academy in the first place. This year is the inter-academy games,a competition between all the magical academies, which if won could put GDA back on the map but if lost could have them close their doors forever. Being the only place that took Makayla in, albeit for unknown reasons, she is willing to fight hard to save the one place that made room for her. With competition from those closest to her, namely her brothers at other academies, how deep do family ties go? What about Makayla and her helpers, are they really the game changers? Will Makayla ever solve the mystery of her ancestry and why exactly things are attracted to her?
This was an amazing build off of the first book. I loved the characters and learning more about them but also the world building that the author has carefully crafted. A super quick read, that just has you turning pages to find out what happens next. I personally cannot wait to grab book three just so I can see what comes next for Makayla and the Grave Digger Academy!

This is such a cute coloring book. I love how it could be for adults or children and you don’t have to use it just at Halloween. It’s definitely worth it. It would be great as a gift.
Dainty Damsels by J.N. Sheats. This is the perfect coloring book for little girls and women alike. I absolutely loved it. It was so pretty and the pictures almost come to life once they are colored. If you are in the market for a coloring book for a gift or just a relaxation day this one is awesome. I will be picking up more for gifts and maybe even one more for myself!
Halloween is one of my absolute favorite holidays and I spend a lot of my downtime coloring. This is the perfect mash-up for me! I love all of the fun pages and the illustrations are well drawn. My kids had a great time coloring with me so this made a great family affair. I highly recommend picking this up and embrace the cute characters of Halloween!

This is such a fun activity book! I would recommend it for any age, as the pictures aren’t spooky even though they are Halloween related. Get out your crayons, colored pencils, gel pens, sharpie markers, even some paint and just have fun with this! The pictures are great sizes for all the mediums mentioned above. Make it a girls night and color before watching your favorite Halloween movie! 🙂
