I haven’t read a YA book in a while and this book was the perfect palette cleanser after all the sad books I’ve read lately. Abby Hill with her spooky talent gave me a thrilling read with an amazing never been written (that I know of) storyline. The author did a superb job with the balance between spooky and YA. It’s the first book I’ve read by this author bit definitely not the last. (Just clicked following)
This is the 3rd book in the Notebook Series. I would really recommend reading the first 2 books in the series first as they themes and characters all follow through the series. This book continues from the end of the last book. What I love about these books is how well the stories are written. You completely feel transported to the era the books are written in. The stories are a great read, they are full of mystery and murder and our main character Emma has loads more challenges to overcome, from learning to run a charity made with a donation from a wealth client to solving a mystery involving drugs, kidnapping and more. Adding to this mystery is another case brought to her by an old flame but are things as they seem? It is a thrilling read that will need the reader hooked and guessing from beginning to end. You feel captivated and transported in time which adds to the charm of this series.
This is not my first book by this author but I enjoyed this one just as much as the first one. This is a well written story that takes place in Chicago in 1885. Emma finds herself in a new adventure that is full of action, murder, hidden plots, and so much more. I enjoyed seeing characters from the previous books. They are strong, creative, relatable characters that made the story entertaining to read. This is a fast paced, engaging story that pulled me in from the beginning. I enjoyed the growth and chemistry of the characters and how they support each other. The author’s use of details brought the story to life and had me coming back for more. This is the third book in this series which I highly suggest reading the previous books as well. They are just as enjoyable and Emma will take you on an adventure you won’t soon forget. I really enjoyed what Emma brought to the story and I highly recommend this book.
I have very much enjoyed getting to know Emma Evans and her family/team. This author has hit the nail on the head again when it comes to telling a story as it pertains to different characters. The third person narrative once again steals the show, and I thoroughly enjoy the way that she focuses each chapter on a certain event/character, I find it really allows for the reader to follow the story line without feeling bombarded with a ton of information all at once. The love that has developed deeper between Emma and Jeremy is adorable, and is long-term relationship goals for me, I’ll be rooting for them all the way!
Life is full of changes, and challenges, and the ones that come up throughout this specific adventure are relatable, especially for me, and I feel like the emotions tied into the different cases that are being taken on by this team are described to a T. One of my favorite things about this series so far is that it’s never just one thing going on, and the pace is, in my opinion, perfect. Without even realizing it, you’re drawn in to help solve the cases, and try to beat them to the punch, and I absolutely love disappearing for a while into these adventures. Keep them coming, please, highly recommend reading this series!

Drama, wrapped in mystery and delivered in history. Book 3 sees Emma evolve so much more. There are new mysteries to solve as we catch up with many characters from previous books and meet new some ones. I absolutely adore Emma and her crew, especially Jeremy. The story is delivered flawlessly and historic era bleeds through the writing. I am thoroughly enjoying this series and totally recommend.

Oh my goodness, Emma is at it again! I love the stories of Emma and her friends. This story had me just as excited and intrigued as the first one. Emma need to figure things out with Jeremy while solving crime with Tony and her friends. Solve she does. This story is so engaging. These truly are my favorite type of stories. If you can engage me from the start and keep my attention all the way through, you have a fan for life. The characters have personality and are easy to relate to. The details are such that its easy to delve into the story and feel like you are there. Kind of like a female Sherlock Holmes story. Love this series. You should read this if you like historical mysteries and/or strong female leads. Highly recommending.
I am not usually a fantasy reader, but this book was amazing. I was hooked from the beginning. The author did an awesome job with building this world for you and the characters to journey through. I am new to this series and I was not disappointed. I highly recommend this book.

This was a good one!! It threw me for a moment because honestly possessions and clowns are not my thing, but it was still a fun read. For the younger crowd its a very “Are you Afraid of the Dark” feel. Abbey was a great girl and she was brave given the nature of the ghosts and spirits that surrounded her. The 80s theme music gave it different type feel a well. I am definitely going to read the first book after having read this one!

This fast paced second book will leave you wanting more! It picks up right where the first book leaves off. All Seth wants to do is save Lillian instead of waiting around a week in Edenia. Can he betray Miriam to save her though? As you dive into this story you learn more about Edenia and all the secrets it holds. I love how you get to know the characters even more and their roles in the protection of Edenia. This is a fantasy read about finding yourself and forgiveness in one of the most unique stories I’ve read. I cannot wait to read the third book! This author really knows how to leave you needing more!

Being the third book in the series, I don’t want to give too much away with any more of a synopsis than the author gives. I had quickly made my way through the first two books and was eager to continue the journey with Van into her third year of missions. This third installment did not disappoint with the depth and growth of the first two.
D.L. Armellei does a fantastic job at balancing out the narrative so, as a reader, you can enjoy this book as a standalone or as the continuation of the series. I appreciate that even into the third book, more world-building occurs so it doesn’t just feel like a lot of repeating. As a lover of the YA and Fantasy genre, this entire series fits in perfectly alongside some of the better-known series (eg. Hunger Games, Divergent, Percy Jackson, etc.) without feeling like another stereotypical teen drama.
I would highly recommend this book as a standalone for anyone wanting to dip their toes in the YA Fantasy genre. I’d recommend the entire series to anyone who already enjoys YA and Fantasy, and is ready to step into a whole new world that tickles your senses as somehow familiar and entirely new.

Some of her friends begin to go missing and Abbey can’t help but think the ghost clowns are to blame. Will she get to the bottom of the disappearances and help get her friends home to safety? The author does a brilliant job mixing paranormal and reality in this young adult thriller. Abbey is a very likable character and super independent and fun. I don’t usually read YA books but I couldn’t put this one down! This book is definitely for anyone and everyone!

Will Abbey figure out what is going on before it is to late? Absolutely loved this book and hoping to maybe see more from Abbey in the future.

When I first laid eyes on the cover of this trilogy box set I knew that I had to read it. Once I started this trilogy I simply couldn’t put it down. The characters are absolutely amazing, the plot was original and fascinating, and I loved the idea of having all three books at my finger tips one right after another. While I have never read anything by this author it will certainly not be my last time. So if your looking for a great new trilogy with fantastic characters make sure you pick this one up today.
An epic sequel, Apocalypse continues the story set in Edenia. With stunning world-building and continued character development, the story of Seth and Miriam fills with more depth and detail. A plot that has you flipping pages will keep you stuck to this story like glue. The continuation of this story will fulfill what you had been left wondering in the first book, but is also easy enough to pick up on its own. Highly recommend.

Class Clown by Allan Evans kept me turning pages just to find out what happens next! It’s really nice when a book surprises me and this one had so many parts that were really unexpected! The Thunderbird Acadamy trilogy picks up after the Hawthorne Chronicles. While, there are many references to past events, and things would make more sense if the other 4 books were read, I fared well jumping directly into this trilogy. Maddie Hawthorne comes from a powerfully prestigious family and already feels the pressure of her legacy as the world is threatened by a very old and powerful source known as The Ancients. Thunderbird Academy is the safest place for her to complete her second year of highschool and one of the best places find research to find a way to stop The Ancients and find her missing father. Aiden Lawson is an alpha werewolf attending Thunderbird Academy and appears to hate Maddie for no reason known to her. Her understanding of his feelings as well as her own become more confusing when they’re paired up as sparring partners and his touch on her skin makes her feel things she’s never experienced before. Between The Ancients, homework, her missing father and boy problems – Maddie struggles to find her way and herself. This box set read like 1 big book and I really enjoyed it. The cliff hanger endings would have definitely made me restless and I cannot deny that I like big books. I had a really fun time with this read and am very interested in getting to know the Hawthornes a little better by reading the first trilogy.

Reading this book I had no idea what to expect. Not being a fan of clowns at all, it really scared me! This is what I would refer to as a “sun up” book, only read in the daylight hours. I did enjoy the fact that it was a fast paced read and I loved the heroine, Abbey.
A young girl in a new school, Abbey must work to fit in but add to that the element of fighting off dead clowns. When students at her new school begin to disappear, Abbey makes the connection between the two. Abbey must face her fears in order to help others.
Despite my dislike for clowns and all that they entail, the writing in the book was fabulous. Get it, you won’t be disappointed.
Emma’s adventures continue as she solves crimes and mysteries in book three of The Notebook Mysteries series.

This was a good read and a good follow up sequel novel. It took me a bit to remember how the first one left off, so I was confused for a good bit of the novel. I didn’t connect with this book like I did the first one, but I think it was mostly due to the fact that it’s been so long since I’ve read the first installment. It’s an interesting story with an interesting plot and storyline and characters too. I did enjoy it I just hate I didn’t enjoy it more. I plan to go back sometime and reread the first novel and go immediately to the second so I can get more from this one. Overall it was great and I highly recommend this book and series, but you will definitely want to read the books in order!

I was completely drawn in by this story even before I read the first page. The author did an amazing job of capturing my attention with the blurb and then did an even better job of keeping that attention throughout these 3 fantastic books. The story was so well thought out and developed. It was exciting to read but also had more detail than you would usually see in a YA novel. I loved the characters in this book too. I thought they were really easy to connect with and their story was complete believable. I loved to see how it progressed across the series and how they evolved. This really is a great series that is a must for any fan of this genre.
This book was definitely not what I expected! It was a bit slow at first as the story was set up, but by the end of the book I was very excited to read the second book in the series.
The writer has a great attention to detail, not many books I read am I able to fully picture what is going on in the book but this author had such talent that I was able to do so. She did a great job transitioning between the characters throughout the story, I was easily able to see things from each of their points of view. I’m very excited to jump into reading the next book

Magic, and Werewolves, and evil oh my! This trilogy was fun to read! although I was a little lost about a few things that happened in the past, I was able to get through with no problem! Now that I know it takes place after The Hawthorne Trilogy, I will be going back and reading that one too! The tension between Aiden and Maddie is so palpable you can cut through with it like a knife! Aiden hates Maddie with a fiery passion for unknown reasons to her. While dealing with Aiden’s hatred, she has to deal her magic not working properly!! My heart went out to this girl who has the weight of the world on her shoulders. The writing and pacing was done beautifully I couldn’t put it down! I cant wait to read more by this author!
Picking up where the last book left off, this was a quick read for me! The writer continues to impress me with her writing skills and great attention to detail.
The book left me wondering what would happen next at the end of every chapter. I was sucked in right from the beginning, making it easy for me to read it quickly.
The book was like the first one in that the points of view were from different characters and she continued to amaze me with her ability to do so eloquently. I am a huge fan of this writer and can’t wait to read future books by her.

Thus, the trilogy begins, and it is quite the ride. Heart-pounding action and lots of supernatural powers at work in this awesome collection of books. I loved the authour’s voice in these books, they have a way of gripping your attention immediately and not letting go until you’ve completed the set. High drama, epic battles, and even a romance in there, with a devilishly handsome hero. Definitely, happily, recommend.
The Thunderbird Academy Trilogy Boxset contains all three books in The Thunderbird Academy Trilogy by Valia Lind. As soon as I laid eyes on the cover of this box set, I knew I needed to read it. It promised all the ingredients I LOVE to find in a story- and to have all three books in one great package was the icing on the cake for me. So even though I had not read anything by this author before, I happily grabbed a copy and jumped right in- excited by what I might find. What I found inside the intriguing cover was a superb YA fantasy, full of imaginative and clever paranormal touches, magic, witches, shifters, supernatural elements, adventure, action, angst, danger, friendship, family, romance (enemies to lovers), good vs evil, high stakes, agendas, betrayal, and so much more. I was hooked right from the beginning and ended up reading the entire trilogy in one sitting. #sleepissooverrated I really enjoyed my introduction to M. Lind’s work and am so excited to see she has plenty of other books for me to explore. I am so happy her book popped up on my recommended book feed, otherwise I may not have discovered her books till much later, or at all. There is one thing that I will mention though, and that is that this trilogy is set in a ‘world’ that has already had other series/stories released from it. From what I understand is that The Thunderbird Academy follows on from the Hawthorne Chronicles, and as such, there are many references to the events that occurred there, which did make me wish I had read the Hawthorne Chronicles before diving into The Thunderbird Academy, because I really think if I knew what happened previously I would have better understood and appreciated this trilogy. Don’t get me wrong, this trilogy could be read and enjoyed as a standalone- but having so many references to past events made me feel like maybe I was missing important backstory and information. A fun read nonetheless! Looking forward to exploring more of Ms. Lind’s work. Happy reading!

A trip to the circus with her family brings Abbey a lot more than she bargained for. When all hell breaks loose, and dead clowns overrun her high school, she must scramble to put a stop to it before it’s too late. I liked the pace of the story and the plot brought some interesting twists and turns. I liked that Abbey had a bit of a gift in regards to the supernatural and an quiet intuition that those around her lacked. I had trouble really resonating with her though, and feeling fully pulled-in by the story. It seemed like it was happening at a remove. At any rate, a decent read.
