Love in Carson Falls (The Falls Series Book 1) by Paisleigh Aumack – Review by Angela Shirley
Love in Carson Falls by Paisleigh Aumack
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Love in Carson Falls is the first book in the Falls series and follows the story of River and Arianna. Arianna has had her fair share of heartbreak and is looking to start a fresh in a new town until one of her student’s father pushes her boundaries and wants more but will Arianna be able to take that giant step.
Arianna has had a life up till now of pain and hurt she never would have thought the person she devoted her whole world to would hurt her the most, all she want to do now is escape that life and create a new world in a new town. So Arianna calls an old college friend who invites her to stay with her in Carson Falls. Arianna instantly falls in love with this sleepy little town and feels comfortable as the town welcomes her and she makes some close friends. Until one day Penny encourages her to give piano lessons to a beautiful little girl, Cady. She agrees and starts tutoring her but when her father drops her off for their first lesson Arianna has a feeling that there may have been an ulterior motive to Penny’s suggestion.
River has had his ups and downs, having lived his whole life in Carson Falls. He loves his daughter and is the only parent figure in her life after her mother left them both when Cady was just a baby, but he adores the vibrant five year old who is obsessed with Frozen. So when she is not watching Frozen she is sending her father insane with the contestant pressure for her to learn to play the piano. River is finally convinced and arranges to send Cady to piano lesson with Arianna.
As the story continues you get to see the fiery character of Arianna and that she is trying hard to protect her heart but River is working his way through the layers of her hurt that has built up over the years. River is also an alpha male who shows her his dominated side and in the end breaks down her walls to see how a real man treats a lady but I also love the way the author writes this character with his daughter you really get to see the love he has for her.
This is the first book I have read by this author and thought it was well written and provoked a great amount of emotion towards these characters and you willed them to live happily ever after. I will definitely be reading the next instalment in the series.
